Book review: None of This Is True

Lisa Jewell’s latest psychological thriller is about a woman who finds herself and her family as the subject of her own true crime podcast after meeting a woman with an unsettling story to tell.

In None of This Is True, podcaster Alix Summer meets her birthday twin Josie Fair at a pub by chance as they're separately celebrating their 45th birthdays. When they strike up a working relationship to tell Josie’s complicated life story on Alix’s podcast, dark secrets begin to surface, and Alix finds h...

Small town inspiration

Growing up, I spent my summers at a lake not unlike the one in my book, and it was a major source of inspiration when I developed the setting for The Three Deaths of Willa Stannard. I wrote about how the secluded lakeside community and broader area inspired the backdrop of my debut novel in an article published in the Allegan County News. Read it below!

Here are five titles I’ve added to my TBR pile this summer.

As summer marches on, I love to enjoy a glass of wine on the patio in the evening with a much-anticipated new read. Take a look at the top five books that have rocketed to the top of my TBR pile this summer.

The Only One Left by Riley Sager

I’m a little over halfway through this book right now. Sager’s books are an automatic must-read for me every summer, and this one is not disappointing so far. Like his other novels, I can’t begin to ...

ALA conference highlights

I had a great time at the American Library Association (ALA) annual conference in Chicago this past week! I had the opportunity to visit the Dreamscape booth in the Library Marketplace for a book signing.

It was wonderful to get to meet librarians from around the country and share my book and audiobook with them. As both the daughter of a librarian and someone who worked in a library for several years, the folks at this event hold a special place in my heart!

Dreamscape produces the audiobook ...

Pub Day is Here!

It’s finally here: pub day!

When I wrote THE THREE DEATHS OF WILLA STANNARD, I didn’t expect this day to come. It seemed too far-fetched to dream of being a published author.

Today is yet another milestone in a long journey. I first got the idea for this book in 2018. I had a twisty mystery in my head that I needed to put onto paper, but it wasn’t until I wrote the last page that I knew I had to try to get it into readers hands, too.

I’m so proud of this book and thankful to everyone who’s ...
