My wonderful French translator Marie Anciano did not face those problems: most changes had to be made as of Novel 4, especially about my other Hunkydory: Jeffrey Burroughs, who is playing a major part in my upcoming novel 8 of the series: Waterloo Warriors.

My sequence of publishing was in the beginning quite haphazard: I started out with Kit Brondemeire, my beloved hunk in novel 4 and 5. Then I published the story about Lionel and Robin in novel 6, made everything more confusing in publishing my other hero Hengist in novel 2 and 3, to publish Lochiel's story at last (novel 1), before I entered novel 7.

How to create my covers without paying through the nose (excuse the expression):

* I asked Jeroen Staamer, a friend of the family, whether I could use his photograph for 'A Lieutenant at large'(he's the owner of sailing club 'de Eilander on Texel, Neth.) (novel 1)
* I pleaded with my handsome cousin Didier if I could use him for Novel 2 and 3 (A Major in distress 1 + 2) I had a great photograph we made at a party when my mother became 88. It's a bonus his future wife Zizi is a healthy Keira Knightly lookalike, she's to be added to my novel 8 and you can see her in novel 6.
* I Found a wonderful picture of my eldest son Dax for novel 4 and 5 (A mercenary Major 1 + 2)
* Nicked a photograph of a lovely friend of the family Mike Kramer for novel 6: A Major's mistake, (the love agreed!)
* Almost forced Casper-my-son-in-the- Middle (but not less precious)to allow me to use his picture for volume 7 (About Officers and Gentlemen) while I used his beautiful girlfriend Jana for Lizzie in novel 1 and her equally beautiful twin-sister for novel 7.
* And last but not least told my youngest son he truly owed it to me that I could use his picture for the coming up novel Waterloo Warriors, number 8 in the series. (You know with those illogical arguments like 'being his mum,' and all that.) He pictures the 22 year-old Prince of Orange.

Finding my heroes was not easy. Some I bought on the royalty free websites, others I acquired from explicit free photo sites.
You can see how I had to shop a picture from a balding guy on a couch into a devastatingly muscled Hengist Agnew

and oh, it is fun!
