Meg Cabot was born on February 1, 1967, during the Chinese astrological year of the Fire Horse, a notoriously unlucky sign. Fortunately she grew up in Bloomington, Indiana, where few people were aware of the stigma of being a fire horse -- at least until Meg became a teenager, when she flunked freshman Algebra twice, then decided to cut her own bangs. After six years as an undergrad at Indiana University, Meg moved to New York City (in the middle of a sanitation worker strike) to pursue a career as an illustrator, at which she failed miserably, forcing her to turn to her favorite hobby--writing novels--for emotional succor. She worked various jobs to pay the rent, including a decade-long stint as the assistant manager of a 700 bed freshmen dormitory at NYU, a position she still occasionally misses.
She is now the author of nearly fifty books for both adults and teens, selling fifteen million copies worldwide, many of which have been #1 New York Times bestsellers, most notably The Princess Diaries series, which is currently being published in over 38 countries, and was made into two hit movies by Disney. In addition, Meg wrote the Mediator and 1-800-Where-R-You? series (on which the television series, Missing, was based), two All-American Girl books, Teen Idol, Avalon High, How to Be Popular, Pants on Fire, Jinx, a series of novels written entirely in email format (Boy Next Door, Boy Meets Girl, and Every Boy's Got One), a mystery series (Size 12 Is Not Fat/ Size 14 Is Not Fat Either/Big Boned), and a chick-lit series called Queen of Babble.
Meg is now writing a new children's series called Allie Finkle's Rules for Girls. Her new paranormal series, Abandon, debuts in Summer of 2011.
Meg currently divides her time between Key West, Indiana, and New York City with a primary cat (one-eyed Henrietta), various back-up cats, and her husband, who doesn't know he married a fire horse. Please don't tell him.
Thanks Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ for recommending The Mediator to me. I've already read the series. It was on the required reading list for edgy teenage girls.
No, I will not be reading it again because, if it's anything like Twilight, it won't have stood the test of time. In fact, re-reading the Wikipedia summary and vaguely recollecting the plot for Airhead (another Cabot series I really enjoyed at that age), I can almost certainly say that with certainty...
...Am I still kind of tempted to re-read this series though? Maybe...
I love these books. The characters are interesting and intriguing. A series well worth reading with lots of laughs, suspense and drama. The love story is beautiful and irresistible.
6. The Twilight Read June 8 - June 9, 2016 {really wish there was a box set option for the entire series!}
These are the ongoing adventures of Suze (Susannah), a transplanted New York teenager who has moved to Carmel-by-the-Sea to live with her newly remarried mom and her new stepfather and and 3 stepbrothers -- Sleepy, Dopey, and Doc. This is not the biggest struggle in her life, though. Suze is a mediator -- she helps stranded ghosts with their unfinished business and move on -- through some unorthodox methods. Although she keeps this a secret from her entire family, but finds an unexpected mentor and fellow mediator in her principal, Father Dom. She also acquires a new roommate and friend, Jesse, who is a ghostly inhabitant of her family's renovated home which is the oldest house in the neighborhood and which used to be a boardinghouse in the 1800's.
These are incredibly quick reads -- great for a lazy afternoon -- Suze narrates these stories in a a fun, snarky New Yorker-in-California way.
------------- Remembrance (The Mediator, #7) Read 2017 (?) Suze is a college graduate (although you would never know it) and working as a counselor at her former school ...

The entire Mediator series is just so absolutely wonderful. Established long before the terrible YA fantasy that we're dealing with today Suze and Jesse are the real deal...or as real as they can get. The family issues open your heart, the mysteries open your mind, and the romance with open your mouth is aww and hope.
Meg Cabot is one of my favourite authors!! This is my favourite series of hers!! The storyline and characters are amazing!! I love how each book has its own drama to handle but also the growing relationship between Suze and Jesse throughout the series!!
THIS SERIES WAS MY EARLY TEENAGERHOOD IF THATS EVEN A THING. I’m so glad I randomly decided to pick it up from the school library back in year 9. Jesse DeSilver was my very first bookish boyfriend. I was...quite obsessed.
Gah loved this series so much, Jesse made the book for me, such a gentleman. I loved Suzie's personality and attitude some of her parts where hilarious. Awesome series!
