Εξαίρετο βιβλίο, από όλες τις απόψεις. Αποτελεί ένα πολύτιμο εγχειρίδιο για κάθε λάτρη της αρχαιότητας, καθώς αναφέρεται στην αρχιτεκτονική, την τοπογραφία, την γλυπτική και ,φυσικά, στην ιστορία των αγώνων της αρχαιότητας και των αθλημάτων τους. Ο μεγάλος αριθμός εικόνων και ο ρέων λόγος του κ. Βαλαβάνη προσδίδουν στο πόνημα μια ιδιαίτερη αξία και το καθιστούν πρότυπο συγγραφής για αντίστοιχα βιβλία
