This book had me like

I wanted to shake some sense into Jadyn in this installment. Holy crap she pissed me off. Some of the things she did, I have no words. But over the course of this book, you see the relationship grow, mature, and it's fascinating.

I melted for Phillip, he's amazing, everything you want in a man. He accepted everything there was to Jadyn, all her flaws, all her downfalls, everything. He made me swoon. He deserved the Jadyn he got at the end of this book. I adored her, she was the Jadyn that deserved happiness with her prince❤❤

That Boy ends with an engagement... That Wedding picks up right where it leaves off.

Following Jaydn and Phillip’s engagement was just as fun, emotional and entertainment as the first book. Reading the book the first time was fabulous. Listening to it on audiobook was even better!

Phillip and J.J. are meant to be. It’s taken her a long time to see it, but these best friends belong together.

Planning a wedding isn’t easy. In fact, it’s very stressful. Jaydn finds it to be overwhelming. Everything is moving so fast and she doesn’t know what to do. Luckily she has her Prince to help her along the way. And her best friend Danny, who is still my favorite boy! He def. lightened the book up with his XXX wedding theme, and you can’t forget his parenting tip...
“You know, I've kinda been freaking out over being a father, but then I read in a men's magazine somewhere that as long as you can keep your son off the pipe and your daughter off the pole, that you've done a good job.

I just adore both Danny and Phillip, and J.J. is pretty great too. This series is one of my favorites. It is top notch YA! I cannot wait for That Baby to come out!

5 I love this series Stars

Jaydn and Phillip are finally engaged, they have overcome their obstacles and are ready to spend the rest of their lives together. Oh if only it were that easy.

JJ has finally realized Philip is the guy for her, but she still has other issues she has never dealt with. That Wedding tells the story of Jaydn’s journey to her happily ever after with her prince. JJ is forced to finally deal with her parents deaths, planning her dream wedding, changing jobs, and moving.

Again told in JJ’s POV it goes through the high and lows, the anxiety, stresses of planning a wedding and dealing with life. I loved Danny and Lori’s parts in this story. I loved how understanding Phillip was of JJ’s issues.

As someone who was completely Team Danny, this story did make realize that Phillip was always the guy for Jaydn. I adore this series, and cannot wait for That Baby.

TBR Rank: This was book #112 from my TBR pile
4.5 STARS out of 5
Genre: New Adult Romance

I can’t wait to marry that boy. The boy I’ve loved my whole life. The boy who knows what a freak I am and who loves me in spite of it. I smile and walk slowly down the aisle, like I’m supposed to, and take his hands. When this is over, I’ll be his wife.

She has the boy, he proposed, now what?!

In That Wedding Jadyn and That Boy prepare to make a HUGE commitment to one another. MARRIAGE! Yes, during their first date he pops the question and she accepts! While things start off fun and exciting for Jadyn eventually the high wears off and an emotional roller-coaster of ups and downs begin.

Marrying her best friend is a good thing right? I mean she loves him more than anything so what could possibly go wrong. Oh, I’ll tell you what can go wrong. DOUBT. JJ(Jadyn) begins to question things and her doubt while awake sneaks in to her dreams. She starts to have nightmares of her big day. Eventually this festers into her relationship. Although other issues arise, JJ still manages to bounce back. It’s just this one thing that has her bent out of shape. Is she ready for forever? Is THAT BOY her Mr. FOREVER?

Oh and wait, also it doesn’t help that her future in-laws question something they feel is unresolved in her past.

My Sweet and Sour
My Sweet: Planning a triple xxx wedding!
My Sour: When Jadyn filled in as a waitress. Her actions that night, not cool.

Fave Line/Scene

I’m looking at my dream. My prince. Our eyes meet. He looks at me so adoringly, and I can’t believe I ever doubted this. All the worrying I did. All the should-I-marry-hims. All the will-we-work-outs. All the tears. They all come down to this very moment.

Notes Share
(Below are a few notes I wrote on my kindle while reading)

WTF Jadyn?

Damn, this chick has secrets for days. ALL focused on guys from her past. LOL!!!!!

My Thoughts
Real talk I almost took a star off because JJ drove me slightly bonkers. I was ready to kick her butt a few times but it’s cool now I forgive her. LOL! This book had me laughing out loud and yeah there were tears. Happy tears!!! I think Jillian Dodd did an excellent job! She kept it fun, witty and sexy. She is great with providing lovable secondary characters. Her writing always entails adding creative characters and allowing them to flow in that zone. Jadyn is definitely a creative character! Well done Ms. Dodd!

My Ratings
Writing Style- detailed, flavorful, mostly fun, funny and sometimes emotional
POV- Told from her(Jadyn’s) point of view
Plot/Storyline- Jadyn is engaged to the boy of her dreams, only at times it seems they won’t make it down the aisle. Her emotions play a big role. She naturally has doubts but her doubt is not the only thing standing in her way.
HEA???
Steam Factor- Lo-Med-Hi I say Medium, but here is the crazy part…This book is totally pg-13 On a scale of 1-10 I say 5
Entertainment Level- On a scale of Lo-Med-Hi Definitely HIGH!
Overall- I loved love LOVED it!

Now go forth and read. Then come tell us about it on ŷ!

So, I'd like to be able to rename this entire series to 'That Book I Want to Throw at the Wall Multiple Times When Reading,' but I doubt that that's going to happen. You all remember the happy couple, Jadyn and Phillip from 'That Boy' (If you managed to forget the most narcissistic character ever written after reading 'That Boy,' I congratulate you) and 'That Wedding' picks up from 'That Boy' as if it's gone to another chapter rather than a separate book, which works. What doesn't work is the fact that the author has to repeat every concept. Observe:

"Yeah, I can believe it. I've always believed in you, and I'm so excited I get to be there!!!"
"Jay, you have always believed in me. I should probably thank you for that."

The believe concept is now ground into the reader since the word is repeated 3 times in 2 sentences along with the phrase always believed. This method of making sure words or phrases are constantly repeated so the reader catches how important they are goes on throughout the entire book, making the reader feel like they could delete every other line and still have a readable book. Exclamation marks are over used, as well as ALL-CAPS and italics, but unlike 'That Boy' we don't have to deal with bold fonts, thank you whoever stopped that nonsense!

Too bad the nonsense of over description wasn't stopped as well.

He nods his head at me.

Why couldn't he have just nodded? Did he take off his head, make it nod to her, and put it back on his neck? I don't think so. Would he have nodded any other part of his body at her other than his head? This sort of writing reminds me of a high school English student trying to reach a word count. Gagh!

On to the characters! Hey, Jadyn is still the shallow person you got to know in 'That Boy.' She's supposed to be growing up, dealing with her past, and contemplating her future, but I was just contemplating punching her in her face. Mild spoiler

Will Jadyn manage to overcome her fears, past, and nightmares to marry the boy of her dreams? More importantly, will she wear her American Flag Bikini for her wedding?

I loved this book. It is the follow up from "That Boy" and if you loved that this is a must read. This book was so good, but to me "That Boy" was one of the best books I ever read and this was "only" an amazing novel. Going a bit nerdy here I would speculate that this book has higher rating due to selection (that is only those who really liked That Boy continue on and read this one and they naturally adore this one as well).

This book starts immediately after "That Boy" finish and spans over Jadyn and Phillip's engagement. I could so relate since I'm engaged and planning my wedding so naturally I really loved everything about that. However, she did get some really crappy wedding planning advice. And I'm so happy that no one forces us to couples counseling :-)

All in all, I'm so impressed by Jillian Dodd and her "That Boy" series. I am still amazed how she managed to create a heroine who has everything (looks, money, boys falling over themselves, super hot guy friends) but is so likable. She's someone I would like to have as my friend (and not only because she has Danny and Phillip as an added bonus). I can't wait for "That Baby".

So i am sorry but i was really disappointed with this book. i seriously LOVED the first one, but "that wedding" just wasnt for me.

While i normally am a person who finishes a book in one sitting, especially a sequel i have been looking forward to, it took me literally weeks to finish this one, because there were times i was just too bored to keep on reading. it got to a point, where i would download other books, finish them and then get back to "that wedding", which is something very unusual for me.

The characters i really loved in "That Boy" were suddenly annoying and shallow in "That Wedding" and i feel like there wasnt really a storyline. JJ and Phillip would fight/struggle with the organization of the wedding/have any other problem and then solve it with lots and lots of sex and of course get married eventually. granted, some of the sex scenes were really hot and i dont mind a newly engaged couple to be physically attracted to each other, but i felt like there wasnt really anything else happening.

I still believe Jillian Dodd is an amazingly talented writer and i am kinda sad i wasnt able to like "That Wedding" as much as i liked"That Boy" :(

“Love is friendship gone mad

I fell in love with best friends Jaydyn, Phillip and Danny in , and was so happy to finally get back to them with this book. The story picks up immediately after the ending of That Boy. Jaydyn (JJ) is now engaged to the boys she loves (in the interests of not spoiling the first book I’m not going to say to who), and is preparing to embark upon the next stage of her life marriage. Starting with the perfect wedding.

Told entirely from JJ’s POV, we get up close and personal with all of her neuroses as she searches for the perfect dress, enters mandatory couple’s counselling, deals with STDs (the non-infectious kind), discussions about burning bushes and the possibility of a XXX wedding theme. And OMG, it’s so freaking funny! I laughed so hard! And all of this goes on while JJ is planning the party to end all parties, and adjusting to what is essentially still a brand-new relationship (speaking of which, these two are seriously smutty! There is a lot of sex, and talk of sex in this book, and even though we don’t get to see ANY of it, it does add a whole new dimension to things).

Like any bride to be, JJ freaks out over every little detail, but more than that, she starts to question whether she’s actually doing the right thing. And as much as I love her flirty, flighty nature, she really ticked me off in this book. She creates drama where there is no need for it, and her whining and selfish behaviour made me want to smack her! In particular .

JJ certainly has a lot of growing up to do, and as much as she annoyed me, I was happy to see some growth for her. She’s had a lot to deal with, but she finds her way forward with a little help from her amazing support system, and I loved seeing everybody so involved in the story. And when she finally figures herself out, we do get a wonderful ending that left me a swooning mess with a huge grin on my face.

“Three stairs from the bottom, he touches my face and says, 'You look like my dream come true.'

I loved being back with this group! Danny and Phillip are two of the best book friends/boyfriends around, and I loved watching them getting into the spirit of weddings, marriage and babies, and embracing it all as it unfolds. They are incredible friends, and the dynamic between the three of them, and the relationships that both of the boys have with JJ are fantastic, and that’s what makes these books so special.

So despite my moments of fury, overall I did really love this book. It’s a great progression in the overall story, and I am now waiting eagerly for the release of , which is sure to be an absolute riot.

4 stars.

Jillian Dodd has completely knocked my socks off with this debut series. Just to think two weeks ago I didn't even know these books existed. Thank God they found me. That Wedding picks up immediately where That Boy left off. We finally get to see Phillip and JJ together in every sense of the word and boy are they "together", alot ;-)

Though I didn't think it were possible, I fell head over sockless heels in love with Phillip even more. In That Boy, he turned me into a pile of goo. In That Wedding, he completely melted me. If you're wondering if you can melt goo, I assure you that you can!

JJ on the other hand frustrated the goo out of me. I just wanted to shake her, grab Phillip by the ass hand, and run far far away. She gets her act together in the end though so I guess she's forgiven :-). Then of course there's Danny; I love me some Danny, but what I really love is his friendship with JJ; it warms my melted goo. When he tears up at the wedding, I kinda maybe sorta did too! Ok, I was a little glassy. I also want to thank Jillian Dodd for letting them all be best friends without jealousy drama or a love triangle!! I heart you!

This book not only caused an infared of goo, but was beyond hilarious! I lost track of how many times I laughed out loud. The STD thing nearly ruptured my appendix; it even made my jowls hurt!!!

Overall, I think the thing that I love the most is getting taken on an amazing journey with characters that I have grown to love and adore. I totally feel like I've grown up with JJ, Phillip, and Danny and can't wait for the next installment. Jillian Dodd you rock!!!

“Love is friendship gone mad.

Yay! I was so excited to jump into another adventure with Jayden, Phillip, Danny, and Lori! These are some of the most lovable characters ever. I always compare this series to watching your favorite movie or chick flick. That movie that you leave in your DVD player for weeks and replay it over and over. I have them in paperback and also on audiobook and have already listened to them both multiple times. It's like audiobook crack. Freaking hilarious!

**If you haven't read That Boy and want to be surprised about which boy is the that boy of That Wedding, you probably shouldn't read the rest of this review. It isn't a huge surprise or anything in That Boy, but I don't want to spoil anything, just in case :)**

That Wedding picks up immediately where That Boy left off and is once again told from Jayden's POV. She is just as hilarious, spunky and stubborn as ever. The story is about Jayden & Phillip planning their wedding. Everything from choosing the date, venue, flowers to being pestered with the dreaded, "When are you having babies" questions to pre-marital couples counseling. I could really relate to the stress and craziness of planning a wedding, since I just got married a year ago.

Besides the planning, JJ is struggling to adjusting to the new dynamic of her relationship with Phillip. Not in a sexual sense of course, they pretty much did it like rabbits the entire book. No elaborate sex scenes, but it was implied at the end of almost every chapter. They were definitely making up for lost time! ;) But she is nervous about their marriage failing and is second guessing everything. Especially since couples counseling doesn't go so well.

There were a few times I literally wanted to slap JJ and tell her to wake up. She had the perfect guy, but sometimes acted pretty dumb. I still love her, she's very relatable in general, but GAH! She really grows up by the end of the book though and I have to give her credit for that. A lot changes for her in a very short time and she was just trying to adjust.

"Phillip has always fought harder for us than I have. It's no wonder he's tried to move so fast. He's afraid I'm going to run. I don't ever want Phillip to doubt my love. This time, and from now on, I'm gonna run to him. I'm gonna fight for him. I'm so in love with him."

Phillip was as amazing as ever. He is the perfect Prince Charming. He knows exactly how to handle Jayden. At times, I thought he was too soft with her and let her off too easy sometimes, but I realized that he just understands her so well and it works for them.

"We're different people, and we have different ways of thinking. We aren't the same. We compliment each other." "Two messed up halves that make one perfect whole?" "Exactly," he says.

I can't not mention Danny, I love him so much too! He is such a great friend. I am still in awe of his friendship with JJ. I want a guy friend like that! They are so honest and open with each other and Danny can put Jayden in her place like no one else can. They are hilarious together too! I was really happy to see that their friendship still had such a huge part in this book.

"You know, I've kinda been freaking out over being a father, but then I read in a men's magazine somewhere that as long as you can keep your son off the pipe and your daughter off the pole, that you've done a good job."

I loved this book! Not as much as That Boy, but it is still one of my favorite series ever. There were so many hilarious moments, like the "STD's" LMAO! I almost had to pull my car over when I was listening to that scene! And naughty dream week, the spider scene, and the XXX theme wedding texts with Danny!

I can't wait for That Baby!!! I can just imagine the freak outs that Jayden is going to have when she is pregnant. IS IT JUNE YET!?!?!

Just had another re-read of this, listened to the audio version. Love this series!

I just love EVERYTHING that Jillian Dodd writes so I knew I was going to love this after reading That Boy.

I love getting inside JJ's head and Jillian has created such an awesome character that I just wanna meet JJ for real and be her friend.

And Phillip baby is just so freaking damn adorably cute and hot. I love how much he loves JJ 'Princess', we all deserve to have a Phillip in our lives, he is the perfect guy :)

And of course this couple is not complete without sexy Danny & Lori.

We follow JJ & Phillip through pre-marriage counselling and the planning of the wedding.

There is also 'naughty dream week', Pastor John, that huge spider, x-rated wedding tips from Danny and plenty of interference from the family.

This makes for a romantic and funny story with a bit of drama thrown in too.

You will love this book and now I can't want to read That Baby :)

3.5 stars

First of all I'd like to say that I really enjoyed this book, not as much as the first one though, but still I had fun reading this. However there were parts that just made me quite annoyed and frustrated and I think I just can't really overlook them this time - but maybe that could just be me. Ha! The book still did a very good job on showing the important aspects - especially marriage and what goes with it, struggles and conflicts couples face and overcoming past heartbreaks (Jaydyn's parents' death).

I swoon a lot of times to Jadyn and Philip's relationship. It was cute, funny, and really sweet. Although I do think it was a bit unhealthy during the first parts but it definitely matured as the story went by. I understand Jadyn's struggles and confusion as she prepared for the wedding. But sometimes she pretty gets on my nerve. Haha! Her thoughts were pretty shallow most of the time and that just annoyed and frustrated me, especially during their counseling. But that doesn't mean I hate her. I, on the most part, feel sorry for her, I thought that if her parents were there she wouldn't be acting like that, she would have understand and face it better. But there was this one part that almost put me on edge! I almost pulled out my hair. And some of her past escapades kinda shocked me. But still, all went well. I was relieved, happy and touched when she finally realized what was wrong - how she thought that she handled her parents death well but in fact she did it terribly - and learned her lesson and what she has to do.

Jadyn, Philip and Danny's friendship was still very much highlighted in this story. And it was still really great and wonderful and I just loved how it was. And I found myself jealous of Jadyn again for having such wonderful and loyal boys in her life.

I also loved a lot of scenes in this book that made laughed so much! One was the "huge spider" scene! That was epic! It was just so funny and hilarious! Then the bachelors party, ah, I was grinning the entire time reading that part. And of course the wedding, it was wonderful and amazing though I think it was too extravagant, too perfect, but why not? Right? Favorite part of the wedding? When Danny and the boys danced! Haha! I can so much imagine them dancing the dougie, it would just looked so hot! lol!

And yeah, I really enjoyed how thorough Jillian Dodd showed the wedding planning here. In fact while reading this I started to plan (or more like daydream) my own wedding too! Wahahaha! I actually felt excited even though I know it would happen years from now. I didn't actually thought of that but after reading this it just kinda feel nice to think about it.

Overall, this was still a very good read! Funny, sweet and steamy with a very wonderful ending. I was thrilled when I learned there would be a third book, That Baby! Yay! I would definitely be looking forward to it! :))

3.5 stars...Very sweet finish to a lovely story! Although I did enjoy That Boy more, I had fun following their journey through wedding plans, cold feet, couplescounseling, and finally-- resolution in That Wedding.

I was happy to see the transformation of JJ's character in the end and I enjoyed the concepts of the unbreakable bonds of friendship, and always stoping to smell the roses. Charming series!

3.5 stars - I'm sorry Jillian, but I just didn't like this book as much as the first one, which I gave 5 stars hands down. Honestly, I didn't start really liking it until near the end. Disclaimer: The following review is not a "bashing" of the book, but a polite explanation of WHY I didn't love this book because I did, in fact, enjoy the book very much - just not nearly as much as the first one. (I know the review is long, but I promise I mention the good stuff toward the end.)

First of all, I thought this book was really long. I understand the first book was just as long, but that one took over a period of 22 years. This one was everything that happened within a few months.

Which kind of brings me to the next point is that I didn't like that there was so much sex in the book. The way the book was written was an entry from each day, and they pretty much did it every day, sometimes several times a day. Sex is good, and I know its because they're new at it, but it was a little too much - I wanted more of the story. I mean, they even do it in a church parking lot, and they think dirty thoughts and speak about them in front of the pastor. Now, I'm in no means a prude, and it was all written very tastefully. BUT the reason I loved the first book so much was because we had a chance to see JJ and Phillip grow up, and we watched how they connected to each other. While I'm glad they are enjoying the passion, it kind of makes me feel that they finally get together, and all they can think about is jumping each other's bones. I just wish a lot of it was more about relationship building - and there was some of that, but it was more toward the second half or third of the book.

And as far as sex go, I don't like that JJ was kind of portrayed as so sexually experienced in this book. Now, I could have sworn that she lost her virginity to Phillip, but I looked back and couldn't find it, so I guess I was wrong. Still, JJ spent almost 22 years of being a virgin, and in this book, all these secrets tumbled out that she had more partners and more flings that I didn't know about.

For some reason, JJ wasn't the same character I loved so much in the first book. I mean, she had her moments in the first book, but she was quirky in a naive way. I know she's still dealing with the sadness in her life, but in this book, she has a chip on her shoulder and constantly pick fits. I don't remember her being so witchy and irritating. She's thinks too much. She's manipulative. And gosh, is she overdramatic about everything. In the first book, I can picture myself as JJ as the events unfolded. In this book, I felt like she was more of the annoying best friend - you know the type I'm talking about. The one that has all the traits you don't like, and if it had been anyone other than your best friend, you would hate her, but for some reason, you love her anyway. That's how I felt about JJ - I still love her, but I just want to shake her silly at times.

And I think her relationship with Danny and Lori are a bit weird in this book. I understand that she and Danny grew up together, and they've always been close. But the way they talk sometimes, it's a bit too much, in my opinion. I mean they send each other sexual text messages not just sometimes but like ALL the time. And it would be fine, but they have a history. If I were Phillip, I would probably be bothered by this - not because I'm jealous - but because a lot of times, it seems like crossing a boundary. And as Lori, even though I understand nothing ever happened with Danny and JJ and nothing ever will, it just seems a little weird that she's so comfortable discussing their past. I mean, I would want to kind of know about my husband's past, but I don't really want to know in detail or discuss it, like all the time.

The way Jillian wrote this book is like JJ's fantasy and not her reality - from the perfect relationship with Phillip to the way too comfortable relationship with Danny and Lori to the way she flirts with everyone and Phillip not be pissed about it.

NOW THE GOOD STUFF.

Having said that, I LOVE Phillip. He's perfect - maybe a little TOO perfect - but how can you not love him. He puts up with a lot of crap - even more so in this book than the first book. I think JJ can be disrespect at times, especially at the bar, and I don't know how he does it. He's sweet. He's loving. And he always knows what to say and what to do. It also doesn't hurt that he's so sexy so I can't blame JJ for always wanting to jump him. I really need to get myself a man like him.

Despite the weirdness going around, I actually like all the other characters in the book. I think they're all great in their own way, and I love that we get to walk down memory lane and how each of them have played a role in JJ's life.

And despite my hesitation about liking this book, I can't help but like it, and I think that Jillian is a great writer. She has a way to make us laugh, even make us cry. Her lines are not at all cheesy, and even when they're supposed to be, they're oh-so-romantic. I love each character's quirkiness, and they are well written, and they have great lines themselves. The dialogue is cute and clever. And even though I didn't like JJ as much or what happened as much, I thought the actual writing (the wording, the phrasing, the telling of story development) was awesome.

And the end was just perfect. From the breakdown and the realization to the pastor's closing of the marriage counseling and the actual wedding. It was the perfect ending to a great story.

So there were things I liked about his book, and things I didn't like. I definitely liked That Boy way more than this book and I kinda of wish I hadn't read this book because it effects the way I feel about certain characters.

So here's what I liked:

1. Phillip. He's amazing, probably the sweetest fictional male character ever. He is so devoted to Jayden and always has been. He's definitely her knight in shining armor. However, I kind of thought he was a little too laid back at times when Jayden did some questionable things. I know if I did half the stuff she did, my husband would be furious lol.

2. Danny. God he's just hilarious and usually I don't like cocky guys, but I love him.

3. I liked seeing the characters I loved from That Boy grow up and live their adult lives. I liked seeing Phillip and Jayden's relationship grow and somewhat mature, but only a little.

Ok. Things I didn't like:

1. Jayden. Wtf?? Who is this girl?? She didn't seem like the same girl AT ALL and honestly, she annoyed the crap out of me in this book. She seemed so spoiled and selfish I just wanted to slap her in the face. It really bothered me how she was so flirty with guys, like she didn't respect Phillip at all.

2. I didn't realize how slutty Jayden really was! I had thought after reading the first book that she lost her virginity to Phillip and had only ever been with him. While I was reading this book, I realized that was wrong and she had actually been with several guys before Phillip, which made me sad.

I thought this wasn't explained well in the first book, so I was left really confused and frustrated in the second book when all of her sexual escapades came to light.

3. I felt like this book was much longer than it needed to be and it was really repetitive. Jayden talks about wedding plans, then her and phillip have sex, and repeat. There wasn't much depth to this book until the end when she finally comes to her senses and matures a little bit. I kinda wish there had been an epilogue in the last book that explained the wedding and how it all went down. I don't think there needed to be a whole book about it.

So, all in all, I rate this a 3.5 because I did like it, it kept my attention but it was definitely not That Boy and it fell way below my expectations.

That Wedding by Jillian Dodd

5 stars!!

“To the nights you’ll never remember with the people you’ll never forget.

That Wedding is the sequel to That Boy, whilst That Boy covered the 22 year life span of Jadyn, Phillip and Danny, this book covers just a few short months of hilarious wedding planning and “That Wedding. It may be a few short months, but this book is packed, I absolutely loved it, I have laughed so much reading this book. Having not long got married myself I could really associate with Jadyn during this book, I knew her pain, I felt her pain and I lived it with her. She picked the same colour theme as me so we are now officially BFF’s lol.

As with any Jillian Dodd book, there are highs and lows, there is some angst, some misunderstandings, but we all know wedding planning is strenuous, at least I thought so!!

My highlight of the book STD’s, you will know when you get there. I absolutely howled with laughter, in fact I laughed so much, my husband woke up and thought I was being attacked! Jillian, that was pure genius!!

Phillip just gets better and better in this book, before he was always seen as the quiet and reserved one just biding his time until he could unleash, well in this book, he unleashed. We got the smoking hot Phillip and he really changed in my eyes. I loved him even more. I will say that there is no gratuitous sex scenes in this book, it is clean, you have to use your imagination, but the implication is there! Phillip was so understanding with Jadyn, he knew what to do and when to do it and what to say and when, he was her true soul mate, he grounded her and he was absolutely PERFECT! I loved “hiberdating this is going to be used in the future!! The cold/warm feet analogy, also loved…sigh! Even feet means they are perfect for each other!

“That’s why we are perfect for each other. Mine are always hot. Yours are always cold. You cool mine down. I warm yours up. Together they make the perfect temperature.
“So I actually do something that helps you?
“You make me a better man, Princess. That’s why I wanna marry you.
𲹱?
He pulls me in close and kisses me. “Really.

Jadyn, well she is just Jadyn, sometimes I could have kicked her and told her to wise up, but I could understand her. I must admit I didn’t agree with some of the things she did and said but she was having a meltdown at the time, so I forgave her. The couples counselling was hilarious, thank god I never had to go through that!

“That I love you. Promise me that no matter what, no matter if we fight, no matter how hopeless things may feel, that you will look at this ring and know that when you love someone, that’s all that really matters. That we’ll always figure it out together.

Danny, I still love this guy with a passion, his and Jadyn’s tects about a “XXX Wedding had me howling, his sense of humour just has me cracking up, I still feel there is some underlying sexual tension between these two but neither will act on it. They truly are BFF’s and their friendship is absolutely brilliant. I love that these two still have that connection.

I also think that Jillian has another career lined up as a wedding planner, the attention to detail in this book was AMAZING! If only I had read this a few months earlier I could have so used some of the little things that happened in “That Wedding. Hell, I could have even hounded her for ideas and inspiration!! The wedding dress shopping had me laughing, the gifts were so well thought out, the venue (sigh!), the vows, I could go on and on, but Jillian put soooo much detail into this that you could picture it!

“This dress looks like something designed by Cinderella, Barbie and Lady Gaga while they were getting high on mushrooms, or crack, or whatever drug makes people hallucinate.

The pro’s and con’s list.another (sigh!!)

“Two messed up halves that make one perfect whole?
“Exactly, he says

Absolutely loved this book, I can’t wait for “That Baby.

Well done Jillian, another fab, brilliant read.

While I’m in love with these characters and series, this book aggravated me a few times. JJ gets on my last nerve with some immature moments, but I’m giving her grace as a character because of her age and what she’s endured in her life. I’m still in love with the series though. Excited to continue.

Simplemente me encanta. Aunque Jadyn me desespera hasta el punto de querer golpearla en algún momento.

Ahora que al fin JJ y Phillip se han comprometido, comienza la verdadera odisea. THAT WEDDING.

Fabulous sequel to . True to the form of the first book, it is written in diary style through the thoughts of the heroine, Jade/Jayden/Princess (Phillip's name for her) and she is as crazy as ever.

Although this one wasn't quite the emotional ride of the first one, I still thoroughly enjoyed it. Where That Boy spanned 22 years, the whole life of Jayden James Reynolds and her two best friends, Phillip and Danny, That Wedding is basically just four months, the planning of the wedding. There were times during this book that my cheeks hurt from smiling so much and there were a few scenes that were so funny I think I was blushing…STD’s you will know when you read it. This was definitely not clean, sexually, like book 1. Phillip and Jade were doing it non-stop very creatively, but it was all implied not described.

Phillip is the BOMB, enough said. Jade conflicted me. She was wild, but so honest about her faults. At times she made me mad,

One thing I have noticed about this author, Jillian Dodd, when she writes a BIG event in the story such as the proposals from book 1, Naughty Dream Week, bachelorette party, or the wedding- the details are phenomenal. I am not only talking about the writing, but it is the ideas that are just perfect. The venues, the vows, the gift baskets, finding THE dress, the bride and groom gifts to each other...it makes me want to go do all my big life events again and use Jillian Dodd as my planner. I mean I am gushing on how personal all these events were made to the characters.

One of my favorite touching moments of the story, although it wasn’t made a big deal in the book

Ready for book 3, I think there will be one!! Call me crazy, I felt some foreshadowing for book 3, but I think the antibiotic Jade took might have a big effect.

That Wedding by Jillian Dodd is another out of the ball park book! I loved That Wedding even MORE then I did That Boy if that is even possible. The fact there is a third book coming out is getting me so excited! I wish it was 2013 already, can’t wait!

That Wedding stars with Jayden and Phillip (my favorite YA boyfriend) planning their wedding. I love how thoughtful Jayden becomes when planning her wedding and wants her parents to be there in spirit. Jayden really grows up in That Wedding and changes from a party college girl to a woman with a fiancé. Phillip is still amazing, perfect, handsome, supportive fiancé. I am glad Danny was still in the book as an important character. I was worried Danny maybe not in the book as much because he was just a friend but he had such an important part and I don’t see Phillip with Jayden without Danny also in their lives.

There were scenes when Jayden was really annoying me. I understand she had a lot to deal with in That Boy, losing her parents so young and I understand how hard it is to grow up and get married without them there for you, but she was really ruining the best thing in her life with Phillip acting scared and running away from him and their future.

One of my all-time favorite laugh-out-loud scenes I have ever read in a book was the “STD Text-Message scene between Jayden and Phillip’s mother. That was seriously the most hilarious thing I have read before. It was genius!

In That Wedding, their small threesome friend group quickly grew with their college friends and now Danny’s wife is now in their group. I wanted to be in their group so much, they are always laughing with inside jokes. They were just a great group to read about with a cute story.

That Wedding is a real winner. It had everything in a book I love. I can’t read to read That Baby next.

I give That Wedding 5 Stars.

GOT IT --- did not have to wait at all --- HAPPY DANCIN'!!

5 Stars

Okay, this may not be a 4 or 5 star read for everyone, but it was for me. How lucky to marry your best friend. I'm not talking about someone you've dated for a while and now consider your best friend and you get married. I'm talking about someone you've grown up with, shared all the teen angst with, gone to college and shared all the college craziness with, someone you trust more than you trust yourself. How lucky is that? This book is all about this kind of love.

I just finished this book and I have such a tight happy feeling in my throat. You know the kind. This author captured a bit of the guy friendship most women envy. I strongly related to this book so maybe this is why it was such a huge hit for me.

Jadyn loved Phillip and wanted to marry him, but worried about the "what if it doesn't work? will I lose my best friend? then what?". She struggled with learning to trust herself and this relationship and the truth she knew in her heart - Phillip would never let her down. She won't let him. Nothing changed for them other than their love growing so much stronger.

Quite a bit of wedding fluff in this book. I enjoyed it, but may not be for everyone. This is a book you have to look beneath the humor and the surface to glean the real story. Point of it all: You must believe in love and you must believe you deserve to be just that happy!

This is one of those books I will read when I want to feel good about life and love. A real "go to" book when things get tough and you feel let down. I anxiously wait for more by this author.

Word to the wise :: this is not a YA book. Whole lot of sex, drinking and sex [implied, not graphic]. Oh, now I've done it, the YA's will run to this book 8>)

A truly enjoyable fun read.

Happy Reading!

Another note: while I was writing the review, I bumped to 5 stars. Just that good!

The book was cute, the humor was amazing, the witty one lines were epic. I loved everything about the book except for that they was very little of Danny :(
Wtv, I'm off hunting for a guy like THAT BOY <3 hahaha

Me and Victoria have made up in a big way, and she and her secret are my new best friends.

It's over! I'm so sad that I've finished book. Truly, if I had it my way, there would be endless amounts of Jadyn, Phillip, and Danny. This series was perfect and I don't often say that about any book. It was a breath of fresh air to read a series that didn't center itself on drama, but indulged in things like love, friendship, and happiness.

I wanted to re-live my love for this series, so I made them a playlist.

HOLYYYYY OH MY GOD THIS WAS AMAZING I CANNOT FORM SENTENCES OMG THIS WAS SOOOO GOOOOOODDD! AHH I EVEN CRIED OMGGGG

----------------*After spaz attack*-------------------

That Wedding was holy crap amazing. I loved it so so so much! Ahh. It had me laughing, crying and everything in between. I cannot describe this awesomeness. I cannot praise Jillian Dodd enough. This was such a good book.

It’s been a while since I read That Boy, so I had totally forgotten how awesome it is to read Jillian Dodd’s writing and how awesome JJ is. I loved every singly bit of That Wedding. It made me feel happy inside.

Finally, JJ and Phillip are together! Yayayay! Now, they must work together to plan a kick-ass wedding. (Which they totally do!). Together, and with the help of close friends and family, JJ and Phillip form an even stronger bond and eventually get the blessing of Danny’s parents, Phillip’s parents and the Pastor. But, it is not without hardship. They discover new things about each other, and JJ freaks out because she thinks they are failing couple’s counselling. But, oh my God, this was a perfect book and they are perfect for each other!!!!!!

So, yeah, I really loved this book, a lot! There was a lot of sex in this book, but Jillian Dodd was very shy on details. I have no problem with sex scenes in books, don’t get me wrong, but with the amount of sex in That Wedding, I was happy with how Jillian Dodd wrote it.

The wedding was so perfect. I want to plan a wedding were everything just falls into place, just like JJ’s. Everything was so amazing and the descriptions were perfect. I even started crying a little bit! I cry a lot when I read books, I’m so lame, right?

I was devastated when the book ended! I didn’t realise it at first, I just wanted it to go on forever. I’m so glad my friend, Georgie, got me to buy the That Boy ebook. This series is so great. I keep seeing things about a third book, That Baby Really??? I am so excited about that, oh my gosh, I hope Phillip and JJ have like a thousand kids <3 <3 <3

Before I start I have to say that I think That Boy was absolutely perfect and is a great stand alone book :)

I knew before I even started That Wedding it would not be as good as the first book, because what happens after two people have already become a couple and engaged!? no excitement and no angst, that's what happens. And I was right! this book is literally is all about the wedding. (which I guess is okay since it is called That Wedding)

One of the main things that bothered me was Phillip and JJ were not the same compared to how they were in the first book. JJ constantly mopes, cries, gets depressed, etc. but she would never do that in the first book. I also kept noticing moments where Phillip would say or do something the Phillip in the first book would definitely not do, like

They also have a lot of sex. And it usually plays out like this:

-kissing-

-takes off clothes-

*I turn the page*

-JJ saying something along the lines of "wow that was amazing"

end scene

I mean that's great and everything but not when it happens multiple times in every other chapter..

I stopped reading at about 40% and only because I literally fell asleep(and it was the middle of the day), but even though this book was not my cup of tea it doesn't take away how great the first book was :)

A worthy sequel to That Boy.
I'm so happy right now I feel like I could spontaneously burst into song and twirl around in a circle with my arms stretched out wide. Like.. like, oh, like Maria from The Sound of Music! Like she did in the beginning, when she was on top of that mountain. I wanna do that right now. Be on top of that mountain and run around and just sing about this book. How happy it made me. How happy I am to have found this series and this amazing author. And how in love I am with Phillip. He's truly one of a kind and the most understanding and sweetest guy ever. Seriously, he's amazing. Swoon!
I love him and JJ. And Danny! I love their friendship and the fact that they've all stayed such close friends throughout the years. And Lori is so sweet!

Jillian's writing is very comfortable, it just flows with a steady pace. I'm never once bored when I'm reading her books, in fact, I loose track of time when I'm reading.
And the dialogue between the characters is great. It feels natural and nice, very smooth. And hilarious! This series is not just romantic but extremely funny as well =)
Many laugh out loud moments, like with the texts. They were awesome ;-)

And YAY for Naughty Dream Week! Go JJ!
And GO Jillian!

Okay, first of all I have to say that I really enjoyed That Boy and that I think Jillian Dodd is a very talented writer. However, the format that she used in That Boy did not work in the sequel That Wedding. Why? Because there was really not much to be told in That Wedding. All you have is Jayden planning a wedding, Jayden freaking out and having second thoughts in relation to Phillip, and Jayden and Phillip having sex every other page. That is it! It gets pretty repetitive and it made me loathe Jayden's character. I liked her in That Boy. In That Wedding she just turned into an insensitive bitch. It also made me think that she shouldn't be getting married to Phillip, at least not at 22. She acts like a 14 year old all the time and if this was real life, their marriage wouldn't last a year.

Possibly my new favorite chic lit book. I was done with chic lit for the time being because I started getting into the paranormal romance and urban fantasy type books. But Jillian has brought me back into the contemporary romance once again. I need more books just like this. I was laughing, crying, and falling in love along with JJ. Such a beautiful written book and I was definitely emotionally attached to the story from the first book, That Boy.
JJ is so amazing along with Phillip. Everyone could see the two loved each other from the beginning. They were just so blind and stubborn to see it.
I read these types of books to fall in love. And fall in love I did. Over and over again. This is what MAKES me believe love is out there and it gives me hope. Thank you Jillian!

This took me forever to finish.
Pros:
1) Phillip & Danny.
2)Danny telling the mc off the way I wanted to tell her off.
3)The cover actually ties into the story.
Cons:
Everything. Else.
This was painful to listen to. If I hand't been listening to this, I would've honestly never finished it. This made me rethink this entire relationship to the point where I hate that Phillip was marrying this child. Well she's not actually a child, but she acts worse than one and I was not about that. I don't even want to read the next book in this series but I am only doing it for Phillip...
I just hope it isn't as bad as this one.
I am extremely disappointed at everything that happened here...
