My both elder sisters recommended this book ages ago but for some weird reason, i could not cross a certain hurdle which would be page 40-45. Few days ago I retook it and take an oath that this time I am gonna finish it, no matter what happens. few minutes ago I finished it. Immediate reaction would be, "Why the heck I didn't read it long before?" what i was thniking before? I am allergic to fat books but I guess this book gave me the thrill to read more fat books in future. About this book, the way the writer portrait the 3 generations, 3 time lines story which gives you the chill to understand, "no matter in which age or time you are born, the only thing mattered and matters is 'how you take everything around you'. Hemakanto was from English period but he possess a liberal mind, same goes for Dhrobho, he is new gen kid with liberal mind except Krishnokanto, he is bit fundamentalist but than again, all of them posses something which kind of shows they are from the same root.
PS: Now it reminds me of Animal. But just his relationship with his dad is the opposite. There he worshiped him, here he loathes him. PSS: Even after two years my opinion hasn't changed. Forgot so many things but not my hatred for men in this book. I thought the first ML I hated was Hardin Scott, but no. I read it before that, so Dhrubo takes the first place.
