This is the third book in the 'Inside Out' series and as much as I've enjoyed the series, I have to say that this book didn't hold quite the same level of intrigue for me. Don't get me wrong, I liked it, but it wasn't great like the first two books. Maybe it's just me, but the series is losing some of the appeal for me.

After getting the answers to the questions surrounding Rebecca's disappearance in the second book, having many of those questions resurface in this book just seemed unnecessary. It seemed a bit like beating a dead horse to me. I was happy to have closed that chapter in this story and didn't want any doubt being cast. Can't a girl just have some closure!

Unlike the earlier books in this series, this book is set in Paris. Sara decided to follow Chris and give their relationship a chance. As his past collides with their present, Sara must face her own insecurities, as well as a couple of women from his past that are determined to break them apart.

This time around, some of the secrets that haunt Chris finally come to light. While I enjoyed seeing Chris and Sara come into their own as a couple, I found the big secrets to be anticlimactic. No big shockers here. I was left thinking, "Really? That's it?".

Thankfully, there is a happy ending. However, you'll have to keep reading I'd you want to find out what happened with Sara's best friend, Ella. No answers in this one.

I liked this book, but it was by far my least favorite in this series so far. I'll probably continue this series at some point soon, but need to take a little break for now.

ABOUT IF I WERE YOU
How It All Started

One day I was a high school teacher on summer break, leading a relatively uneventful but happy life. Or so I told myself. Later, I’d question that, as I would question pretty much everything I knew about me, my relationships, and my desires. It all began when my neighbor thrust a key to a storage unit at me. She’d bought it to make extra money after watching some storage auction show. Now she was on her way to the airport to elope with a man she barely knew, and she needed me to clear out the unit before the lease expired.

Soon, I was standing inside a small room that held the intimate details of another woman’s life, feeling uncomfortable, as if I was invading her privacy. Why had she let these items so neatly packed, possessions that she clearly cared about deeply, be lost at an auction? Driven to find out by some unnamed force, I began to dig, to discover this woman’s life, and yes, read her journals—dark, erotic journals that I had no business reading. Once I started, I couldn’t stop. I read on obsessively, living out fantasies through her words that I’d never dare experience on my own, compelled by the three men in her life, none of whom had names. I read onward until the last terrifying dark entry left me certain that something had happened to this woman. I had to find her and be sure she was okay.

Before long, I was taking her job for the summer at the art gallery, living her life, and she was nowhere to be found. I was becoming someone I didn’t know. I was becoming her.

The dark, passion it becomes

Now, I am working at a prestigious gallery, where I have always dreamed of being, and I’ve been delivered to the doorstep of several men, all of which I envision as one I’ve read about in the journal. But there is one man that will call to me, that will awaken me in ways I never believed possible. That man is the ruggedly sexy artist, Chris Merit, who wants to paint me. He is rich and famous, and dark in ways I shouldn’t find intriguing, but I do. I so do. I don’t understand why his dark side appeals to me, but the attraction between us is rich with velvety promises of satisfaction. Chris is dark, and so are his desires, but I cannot turn away. He is damaged beneath his confident good looks and need for control, and in some way, I feel he needs me. I need him.

All I know for certain is that he knows me like I don’t even know me, and he says I know him. Still, I keep asking myself do I know him? Did he know her, the journal writer, and where is she? And why doesn’t it seem to matter anymore? There is just him and me, and the burn for more.

3 stars because I liked it. No more & no less.

This was me Tuesday morning, when I discovered the book on my Kindle:

This was me that same afternoon:

This was me 24 hrs later at 53% in the book:

 photo boredtodeath_zpsd3d9fd03.gif

and that same feeling continued all the way to the end and that pretty much sums up this book [for me].

It pains me to give this book 3 stars because I wanted to really like it . The first book in this series was excellent and one of my favorite reads of 2012! Then I felt a little less love for book 2 (maybe because it took 9 months for it to come out and I completely forgot what the hell was happening) but it was still pretty good. This one fell completely flat for me :(

I know the title of this book is "Revealing Us" but, quite frankly, if this is Chris' true persona revealed then I don't want him! What happened to Chris who used to fuck against the windows of his condo and have pissing contests with men like Mark???? Where did he go???????? I want him back. I don't want some sissy guy who is attracted to needy women like Sara!

And speaking of Sara, I don't think she could have gotten any more annoying. I don't remember her being this bad in the previous books but, man or man, was she ever intolerable in this one. Enough with your daddy issues, woman!

 photo holy-crap-we-dont-care_zps734bb65e.gif

Fuuuuuck ... either go into therapy or shut the fuck up! Honestly!

I wish the story focused more on finding Ella, drama with Amber (who I was rooting for the entire book to no avail!), Tristan and less on Sara texting Chris at the most inappropriate times only to tell him something as stupid as how she dislikes French cuisine.

Anticlimactic is probably the best way to describe this finale.

I can't wait to read the spin off (?) series. I have a feeling it will be a bit more action packed vs this book.

And in conclusion I want to say that I am a HUGE fan of Lisa's and, just because this book didn't quite knock my socks off, I am still looking forward to more of her work in the future :)

Cheers!

3.5 Arousing and slightly Confusing Stars

And it’s worth a little heartache to reveal the real us, I’ve always believed we can be...

description

Loving someone is pretty easy compared to living with him, sharing dark secrets and intimate pleasures. The hardest thing is to follow your heart when it decides to take you on a journey that will reveal skeletons in the closet. But the reward will be beyond your wild imagining. Pain and pleasure intertwined and happily ever after just around the corner.

description

No talking. No in between. All or nothing, Sara. I’m offering that to you, and you have to decide if you really want it. There’s a reservation in your name with American Airlines. I’ll be on the plane. I hope you will be, too.

At the end of book #2, Chris gave Sara an ultimatum. Follow him in Paris, meet and face his demons, know the truth of his past and accept him darkness and light, pain and passion. If she finds the courage to let her own fears of being smothered and controlled to rest she might fly straight to the only man that understands what is to fight yourself every day, for every free breath and moment of happiness.

“No more secrets. No more doubt.

description

Together they will explore the intricacies of their relationship that makes it unique. They will make mistakes, stumble and fall and in the end except each other nothing is really resolved...

description

You can't advertise a book as a trilogy and the third book as the final installment and somewhere along the way decide to scr*w your marketing plan and many unsuspecting readers and just decide to throw a couple more books along the way. A little warning would be much appreciated.

description

Don't get me wrong... It's not that I didn't enjoy this book. Chris is mysterious and domineering as ever, Paris in autumn made my romantic heart sigh, the mystery is still strong and Sara is believably adorable as ever. The epilogue sets up a whole new storyline that sounds intriguing and more suspenseful thank ever. And I don't know if I mentioned... Chris! *sigh*

description

But, this wasn't the book I hoped for... It was like a lull, a calm spot in between the ongoing investigation of Rebecca's possible murder and Ella's disappearance. A chance for Chris and Sara to strengthen their relationship and start planning the future. Nothing else. Most of the time Sara was second guessing her feelings and Chris commitment, they were running around Paris and meeting gorgeous exes of Chris. It got old and it could take less than a whole book for all this.

I am staying with these books and definitely reading the next. I am expecting, though awesomeness! Suspense and mystery and answers and passion. Chris style...

So, so disappointed!!!

Confused.

Bored.

Dumbfounded.

Yep, that's me.

First of, what happened to the Sara I liked? I can't believe the stupid creature in this book was the same woman from previous books. I totally connected with Sara before, but here she just confused the heck out of me... She was stupid, she was whining, she was pushy and annoying and basically acted like an idiot! I couldn't understand her at all. The way she totally overreacted to seeing Amber the first time just plain shocked me!

She comes to Paris to fight for Chris - and on the very first day she freaks out. I was reading about her "breaking heart" and just rolled my eyes...wtf, really? So, a girl came and saw you together naked. So she had keys. So what the big deal? The way Sara ran and had a meltdown that Chris didn't love her didn't make any sense. And her actions throughout the book didn't make any sense, either. I hated Sara's illogical behaviour - all just because the Author Said So.

The plot was just one big "was-rinse-repeat". Fight, have make-up sex, claim love. And repeat. And repeat.

I also didn't get what was so special about Chris's secret that warranted three books full of angst. I don't like him that much and I didn't feel connected with him throughout the series..all because he's way too mysterious. I expected something earth-shattering and got a rushed ending with not-that-shocking revelation. Bummer.

I'm quite sure I'll read Ella's book. Though after this book I'm not that excited about it.

3.5 suspenseful stars.

Revealing Us, the conclusion of Inside Out Trilogy, follows Chris and Sara to Paris. Sara has decided that she wants to work for their love. To accept Chris no matter what demons he holds inside, or what secrets he holds. She can be enough for him. She knows it. Their love is unconditional.

Chris' world is rocked with Sara in his life. He will do anything to protect her, taking her to Paris to avoid the drama unfolding with the events surrounding the missing Rebecca. He's got skeletons in Paris, people that would be more than happy to break them apart but he won't let them. Sara is everything to him.

In this book we still get the uber controlling dominant alpha male Chris...and also the love making sweet guy. I prefer the former.....

Then Sara opens her mouth and it's a complete buzz kill. I don't remember her being quite so annoying in the other books. In fact, it seems I reviewed her once being a mature heroine. Some of the risky dumb moves she made in this book changed that opinion. A strong woman turned to a insecure, impulsive twit in this book. Duct tape for her mouth please?

Well, this book, quite honestly was a bit of a disappointment for me. It carried us day to day in Paris with their struggles and villains trying to break them apart. It just seemed rather anti-climatic to me. I was waiting for that "oh shit" moment that really never came for me. When Chris' secret is finally revealed in the last 20 pages of the book, I wasn't all that impressed as to why he held it back for so long. It's not like it was a deal breaker for ANY woman. It just made you empathize with his character even more.

It's always such a bummer to close a love story on a ho-hum feeling too. I freaking devoured this series. The nouvellas detailing Rebecca's story as well as the novels about Sara and Chris. This one just didn't quite hit the mark like the other five-star reads in the series. We still got uber sizzling sexy love scenes, very mild BD/SM and suspense, just not as much of the plot twists I've grown accustomed to in the series. Still a fabulous series I recommend to anyone who loves eroticism with added mystery and suspense giving it a STORY.

is Book 3 in the Inside Out series. Yes, it brings me great pain to say that it appears that these awful characters aren't finished irritating us. This installment was even more painful than the last one. I hated it. If I could figure out how to give zero stars, I would. As it is, I'm giving 1/2 star because the writing isn't too bad. But from the story to the characters, it was just plain awful.

I'm going to start with the male character, Chris, because he's going to be faster to discuss. You may notice that I didn't call him a hero. This is because he does nothing heroic. Nothing even coming close to heroic. Every time the female character, Sara, gets into trouble, which is often, he always shows up late and with a scowl on his face. This isn't necessarily his fault since Sara is Too Stupid To Live (TSTL) but we'll get to her idiocy in a minute. So, Chris is showing up a day late and a dollar short, or riding to Sara's rescue on a Harley... in the pouring down rain... when he expects her to ride back with him. Genius. Also in this installment, we're supposed to be anticipating the discovery of Chris's Deep Dark Secret. Ha! As if. This secret is neither deep, nor dark and to anyone with a 10-year old's computer skills, not that secret either. Just like Sara's secret in Book 2, Chris's secret was a huge letdown. I mean, don't get me wrong. Chris's secret is a huge tragedy and it's very sad but to think that it's going to change Sara's opinion of him is just juvenile at best, stupid at worst. If I had been Sara, I would have been royally pissed at the build-up of something that didn't deserve it. And that's before I realized what it would mean Chris thought about me. But Sara, she's not so bright so her thoughts (as they are) don't go that way. I guess Chris is handsome and rich so that makes him easier to tolerate. But he essentially bullies her into going to Paris with him and then he agrees to go to meetings all day long, leaving Sara to fend for herself... in a place she's not familiar with and doesn't know the language! Hello?! Rude much? Wait, I changed my mind. Chris is just as awful as Sara... they're perfect for each other.

And now Sara. Holy crap, where to start with her? One of the first things Sara thinks upon her arrival in Paris is along the lines of What Could Possibly Go Wrong? Seriously?! Her supposed best friend has disappeared in Paris so I'd say a hell of a lot could go effing wrong in Paris!! While we're talking about Ella, as usual, Sara forgets all about finding Ella for most of the time. Then, when someone reminds Sara that Ella's missing by stating that there is no new news, Sara literally goes into a blind panic. I mean, really! With friends like Sara, who needs strangers?!? Plus, Sara's creepy obsession with Rebecca continues. It was okay when there was a chance that Rebecca was alive and when Sara was worried about her (for a couple mins every few days). But now that she knows Rebecca's fate? It's just beyond creepy. Then, one minute Sara's all about how Chris is NOT her Master but literally one page later, she claims that she's his to command! For real, this chick is seriously bi-polar. She also continues with her pattern of getting mad at Chris until Chris gives her a smoldering look and tweaks her nipple, at which time, she drops trou (along with the rest of her clothes). I was wishing and praying that she would stick to her convictions or to her anger for just 5 full minutes. Just once. But no dice. Finally, Sara proves once and for all that she is truly Too Stupid To Live when she's lead like a lamb to the slaughter by a friend of Chris's named Amber. Sara knows that Amber doesn't like her and can't be trusted but she falls for her trap when Amber calls and acts like she needs help getting home from a BDSM club. Once at this club, Sara realizes even more that its been a ruse but when she's given TWO separate opportunities to leave, she doesn't. Then, on top of that, SHE PROCEEDS TO GET SHITFACED on tequilla!! All alone!! With Amber pawing all over her! I mean, you have GOT to be kidding me, right? If the author had any heart, she'd kill Sara off and do all of us a favor while making things right with the Fiction Gods.

Overall, this book is pretty much just Sara begging with her eyes and vagina for Chris to tell her his Deep Dark Secret and Chris putting her off and then Sara running off without any security guys and then getting into trouble until Chris shows up too late to do anything but glower and complain. The rest of the book is filled with Sara crashing through Chris's past like an overly emotional bull in a China Shop and making assumptions that a hormonal 16-year old wouldn't be dumb enough to make. To make things worse, this book ends in a cliffhanger. We see Ella, on the run from an unknown entity. So it sounds like we're going to hear more from this band of halfwits. I for one, will not be checking out the next installment. I think I've had all I can handle of these mundane characters.

If you aren't going to read the book, click below to see the secrets... But don't say I didn't warn you. Seriously major huge spoilers below.

The angsty finale I was waiting for!

Sara has left her dream job, her home, everything in order to follow Christ across the world and find out what torments his soul. Along the way they must face recent events that have caused trouble in Sara’s life and more of Chris past friendships that raises Sara’s insecurities and threatens their relationship. And still, there’s no word from Sara’s best friend Ella!

We found out about Sara’s secrets and Rebecca’s whereabouts in the previous book which lessens the mystery and suspense factor in this book and raises the question for me at least of, why are we still reading Rebecca’s journals? If it’s for the eroticism, I can pass. But from the beginning all I wanted to know was about the fascinating agonized artist Chris Merit and I finally get the answers which weren’t as dreadful as I imagined but heartbreaking none the less.

Sara continues with the extreme push and pull between her and Chris, but Chris is deliciously swoony.

There are some revelations about Ella, as Chris continues to help and support Sara in anything and everything but the end of the book leaves the reader with a cliffhanger regarding Sara’s BFF which you can find out about in the Careless Whispers trilogy that is now available in its entirety.

Revealing Us is the last book in the Inside Out trilogy by Lisa Renee Jones. It is a contemporary romance, told by the heroine’s point of view that has a happy ending. It is not meant to be read as a standalone and should be read after reading the first two books in the trilogy.

NOTE: This book is rated 3 stars, but the overall rating for the trilogy is 4 stars.

I was very much looking forward to reading this one but, in the end, it was all rather anti-climactic for me.

It definitely continued the hot steamy sexy we've come to expect from Chris and Sara and it tied up all the loose ends but, after the drama at the end of the second book, this one just kind of fizzled out for me and I began, sadly, to lose interest.

Lisa's still a great writer and the epilogue sets up a new story with one of the background characters and I think I will read that when it comes out and I'd also like to see more of Mark's story that began in the last novella but Revealing Us, for me at least, seemed to really lack direction and I have to confess to being a little disappointed.

When I received the ARC for Revealing us, I was like THANK YOU LORD because having been in a deep book funk, I knew only Chris would get me out of it!

description

Let me tell that not only did it get me out of my reading funk but was exceptional!

description

REVEALING US picks up right where Being Me left off, Chris and Sara make the decision to work on their relationship in Paris and try and find Ella. This book is more focused on Chris and Sara’s mental aspect of the relationship rather then the sexual one, although there is plenty of action still.

If I had loved Chris and Sara before, now I LOVE THEM. Chris love for Sara shines through in this one, his need to protect even from himself is swoon worthy. NOW FOR SARA I have complete respect, SHE IS SO STRONG IN REVEALING US and does not let anything stand in her and Chris path to a stable relationship. She is his ROCK, she has her moments of doubt but given everything they go through, who wouldn’t!! I best loved how she put certain ladies in their place!

description

I know if I keep going, I’ll give many things away I will say that this book’s combination of angst, romance and suspense is brilliant.

If you haven’t read this series, you totally should, Lisa Renee Jones is one of the most talented authors out there.

Eager yet dreading to see what is Chris's big reveal, I picked up this story and read on. In the first two in this series, Chris and Sara struggle with each other. Mostly it is Sara's issue with her past. In this one, the reader is treated to Chris's dark past which could cost him Sara's love. What could be so dark and depraved that Sara would leave him?

This book is a hot mess for me. I don't like the implications made about BDSM. In each book, there is an increasing negative light focused on BDSM and how it is damaging. Or at least how people who are "damaged" cleave to BDSM. This immediately turns me off. Ms. Jones's portrayal of BDSM leaves a bad taste in my mouth and I wonder about her agenda.

Second, the characters have devolved to become whiny self-absorbed pissants. Chris is supposed to be this high powered artist who is in demand. While he is still in demand, he comes across as pussy whipped by a juvenile behaving female who doesn't deserve his love. I kept waiting for his deep dark secret. Did he have sex with a minor? Is he a sex offender in France? Did he kill someone? Does he like cock up his ass and in his mouth at the same time? What is it? When the truth is revealed, I had to go back and re-read it. I blinked and in a second, the deep dark secret flew by me without registering. If this is what someone considers to be a terrible deed or past where they would be judged as unlovable, then they need to find a new lover. Seriously.

Third, what happened to Sara? Sara came across as a strong female in the first book. She's fought her way out of her father's control and made a life she enjoys. She was reaching for her dream. In this story, she's emotional and immature. Learning about her from her perspective is painful. Do people really have these crazy thoughts and reasoning in real life? If so, then it must be exhausting. Her outlook in life and her conclusions to situations makes no sense to me. She's become a clingy female who protests too much. She is an irrational stereotypical female. For example, she doesn't like Chris's money to "control" her. Get over it. Do something about it rather than whining. Her incessant insecurity and low self-esteem makes for a torturous read. At one point, I hoped she would be killed so that Chris could move on.

Some may protest that Sara stood up to one of Chris's ex-lovers. Her behaviour is so inconsistent it doesn't make sense. The one scene where she physically made a point, it was totally out of character based on the last book and the first half of this book. I didn't buy it. When it comes down to it, when characters bore me and I want them to die just so the story can move on, it's not an enjoyable read. The sex was terrible as was the view on people who enjoy flogging. The only person of interest is a male tattoo artist which Chris doesn't like. Unfortunately, he wasn't noteworthy enough for me to remember his name.

Lastly, this train wreck of a relationship ends without any real resolution. Ms. Jones weaves in another cliffhanger. Not sure who is advising her of this technique. It's leaves a book unfinished and a reader irritated. This is the last book in this series for me. Each one is progressively closer to the melodrama of a young adult genre. Those stories are not enjoyable for me.

“They don’t get to tell you who I am, he says. His voice is a rough growl, low and tight. “I do. I tell you and I show you so you get the truth, not their fabrication of it. A muscle in his jaw flexes. “Understand?

Finally, we learn all Chris' dark secrets and get to know this dark, brooding man much better. Lisa Renee Jones has produced an incredibly sexy hero in Chris Merit and I have been intrigued by his character from the get go.

Revealing Us picks up right where Being Me ended with Sara having to make the decision to leave everything behind and accompany Chris to Paris. In this installment, Sara is confronted with the women who played a major role in Chris BDSM past. Also, Chris dark secrets are finally revealed, and while they do give the reader a deeper look into his character, it was somewhat anticlimactic for me.

As Chris and Sara’s relationship continues to grow and mature, the spotlight shifts as Sara continues her quest to find the missing friend, Ella Ferguson. The element of mystery and suspense that were included in the first two installments now has a new focus and one I’m looking forward to reading as Ella will get her own series.

All in all, I enjoyed the journey with Chris and Sara and was very happy to see them get their hard earned HEA. This is a good read and if you’re a fan of this series you’ll not want to miss it. However, I did feel it missing that special element that Lisa Renee Jones gives to make it great. The cause could easily be that I was greedy for more page time between Chris and Sara without the distraction of the upcoming new series.

The ending sets the stage for the new spin-off series as Ella is facing impending danger and we are left with a cliffhanger and loads of unanswered questions. 3.5 Stars....

I'm frustrated which probably reflects in the star rating, because I did enjoy this book. However, correct me if Im wrong but does "Trilogy" not mean three (3) anymore? This series is suppose to be a trilogy, correct?

Guess what? "Revealing Us" does not "REVEAL" all of our questions. In fact, very little is actually "revealed" at all. We already know who Rebecca's killer is so all we really learn is Chris's deep, dark, bad secret, which I have to say, for myself anyway was very "anti-climatic. So, yes, Im a little pissed off. I just spent $8.00 for a book that is suppose to wrap this story up and give me the answers I've been craving for over a year, only to find out there is very little answered, and only more books to come for me to buy.

I'm having déjà .... This happened with another series a few months ago (Crossfire Series), and I decided to throw in the towel, just like a lot of other readers. I'm feeling a little taken advantage of right now, so I will write my review of the actual book at a later time.

3.5 stars from me

This was supposed to be the conclusion of this trilogy, however I was left rather disappointed.
I loved the first instalment but this one didn’t have the same result to me because the pace was rather slow and it didn’t work at all. I suppose that I was probably had to high expectations.

is the third installment in 's adult romance series titled Inside Out. When I finished the first book in this series, I was floating on a book high and my trigger-happy finger had me one-clicking the rest of the series on amazon. I don't regret it...but I'm not on cloud nine anymore either. I HATE to say this, but in my perspective, had a great amount of filler in it. To be fair, there is a lot going on in this one: Ella is still missing, the criminal investigation surrounding the Rebecca issue continues, Sara meets more people from Chris's past, Sara and Chris still seem to struggle in their relationship, Chris still has a secret he hasn't told Sara... What gets resolved? Chris's "secret" but not much else. There is a major development at the end of the book that maybe is supposed to make it all OK, and the epilogue definitely tries to keep readers invested in Ella's mystery, but I still felt disappointed. I'm on the fence about continuing the series. Maybe a few novellas will help me get my groove back? We shall see...

My favorite quote:
"Just remember, control is like a fortune cookie saying." "A fortune cookie saying," he repeats, looking amused. "Right. It's meaningful only when you add 'in bed' to the end."

The Inside Out series includes the following installments as of April 2015:

3.5 stars!

I have made no secret out of the fact that I am a HUGE fan of Lisa Renee Jones’s Inside Out trilogy! However, I was more than ready to have things wrap up in this book so that the series could end. I am here to say that this book ends on yet another cliffhanger! Maybe it’s just that I am so tired of cliffhanger endings, but I am frustrated that the Inside Out trilogy has now become a full out series with no end in sight.

Revealing Us does a wonderful job at completing the story of Sara and Chris. This book reads like more of a traditional romance in that Chris and Sara’s relationship takes center stage. We are left with a wonderful HEA ending for this couple, but many other things are left to speculation. We learn that Ella is still missing and in some big trouble. I think the next book will feature Ella and her mystery man. Mark was not involved in this book at all (and his presence was VERY missed). I am crossing my fingers that we will see him get his own book in the future. There are scorned ex-lovers of Chris lurking around, and my patience was tested with them many times while I was reading.

For lovers of Chris and Sara, you will love them as a couple even MORE after reading this book. They get plenty of page time and lots of sexy time under the sheets and in numerous other places ;-)! Chris finally reveals himself to Sara, and it’s not near as “revealing as I was hoping it would be, but does explain Chris’s need for pain.

Overall, a wonderful completion of the love story between Chris and Sara, but unfortunately left me with too many unanswered questions and serious withdrawal from a certain Mark Compton. I rate this one 3.5 stars, but if pressed, I would round up to 4 stars. I love this couple and to finally read about their hard won Happily Ever After made the journey that it took to get here well worth it.

However, this book does make a reader truly appreciate a stand alone, complete novel.

Enjoy!

The revelations just kept on coming! In this installment, Chris and Sara are trying to deal with what happened with Ava, trying to find Rebecca, and figuring out where the heck Ella disappeared to.

Sara still came off as confused and unsure (so freaking annoying!), but there were definitely signs of personal growth. Her inner strength made an appearance, although it was brief.

It sucks that I was right about Chris. He was tormented by events that happened that were beyond his control. He and Sara could be poster children for self-blame.

Although the ending gave a HFN, it seemed quick and unfinished. Thankfully there appears to be more to read in this series. I hope Sara finds a way to help Chris absolve his unwarranted guilt so that they can have a true HEA.

Enjoy! xo

Revealing Us is the third book in the Inside Out series by Lisa Renee Jones. I have been a fan of the series before but now after reading Revealing Us, I am IN LOVE with the series. Revealing us blew the first two books out of the water. It was a perfect combination of suspense and romance that had me on the edge of my seat the entire time reading! I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to find out what happens next.

Revealing Us picks up where Being Me (Inside Out #2) left off. Sara and Chris are together; overcoming many events and Chris’s “interest in the bedroom (if ya know what I mean) to be together in a regular relationship. Chris is fully committed to having a normal relationship with Sara and putting his BDSM days behind him. The secret about what happened to Rebecca was revealed and who her master was. This led to Sara almost being killed. Now Sara is forced to choose between her career, continuing to work in the art gallery or moving to Paris with Chris.

While Sara & Chris’s romance seems to be perfect, Chris is hiding something. He won’t tell Sara until the time is perfect. Let me tell you, this “secret was eating me alive and I didn’t even know what it was! I just had to find out what it was and could not put down the book until I found out. I was thinking so many crazy thoughts on what it could be, especially considering Chris lifestyle pre-Sara. You do not find out what is until the end and it is so worth the wait! It explains so much about Chris and his past.

Chris is purrrr-fect in this book. He protects and loves Sara so much. I love that the book focuses on their relationship more so then just the “hot sex they had before, but don’t worry there is still H-O-T sex in the book, that did not go away. I never thought of Chris as so swoon worthy. Until NOW!

What I love most about the Inside Out series that other romantic series do not have is the suspense & mystery that comes with it. The first two books focuses on the letters Sara finds that belong to Rebecca. Sara searches to find Rebecca and to see if she is still alive. Now, Sara is on the search to find her friend Ella who has been missing this entire time. Sara is in fear of her life and the ending of the book sets up the story for the fourth book in the series. If it stays on the same path, it is going to be just as amazing as Revealing Us was.

Revealing Us is by far the best book the series. It takes a little bit of a different path then the first two focusing on Chris & Sara more. I loved getting to know them and falling in love with them as a couple. I am so excited to continue their series and see what comes next!

I give Revealing Us (Inside Out #3) 4.5 Stars!

I have a lot of feelings about this book. The series started out as something. It was a tale to find out what happened to Rebecca. Doing so, brought us a story about Sara and Chris. It was a trilogy. Now, it's not. This does not end anything. We get half answers, half the information. The big secret is, in my own opinion, lame. Maybe this is because I'm jaded, but Chris has gone from this great alpha to a sap. I'm really disappointed in this installment. Everything moved too slow for me. It felt like a whole slew of new issues and problems were fabricated, sort of last minute, just so we'd have tension. Instead, what I felt while reading was irritation at how stupid Sara was. Her actions, her insecurities, her rash decisions. Chris and his "secret" made me frustrated. His need to tell Sara what that secret is, on a specific dare and time, was, on some level, understandable. On another level, dumb. Ultimately, it felt like there wasn't a book here, so the author put a lot of nothing onto the page. It really is like a waiting game. We're waiting for the next couple of books now... We won't get the final answers until then. Me? I don't know if I'll get them at all since I don't know if I'll continue reading.

I'm sure a lot of people loved this. It just didn't do it for me.

In case you forgot, Revealing Us is out today!!! 9/10/13

4.5 Stars

Revealing Us is just what the title says, it is the “revealing story of Chris and Sara. I know this is the third installment, but the first two books had more than just their romance. It was equally about Rebecca’s disappearance and finding out who Her Master was. Since that mystery was “shockingly revealed in Being Me, Ms. Jones had taken a different path in this novel. The mystery and suspense were placed by angst, jealousy and a whole lot of sexy romance. Chris and Sara will discover each other on a deeper level.

Now that the mysteries were solve, Sara and Chris finally had the time to go further with their relationship. They definitely get to know more of each other’s dark side including Chris past. Can you guess how active his dark side was?? Let’s put it this way, a man like Chris do not become who he is without practice. His past *cough* Ex *cough* will be there to let Sarah know. But don’t worry, yes, there will be plenty of angst but there’s not an ounce of infidelity in this book. Sara is one lucky bitch.

I do have to admit that Sara made some decisions that made matters worse, in more ways than one. Issues could have been avoided by just talking it out. Chris, on the other hand, cannot do wrong in my eyes. He is as perfect as I remember him from the past books. He is very sexy, super protective and very alpha.

We did get more information on Ella’s activities while she stayed in Paris. But it’s not quite over yet. We still don’t know where she is. I believe Ms. Jones has plans to make her story a whole separate book.

This is not the final installment of this series. If you didn’t already know, Inside out Trilogy has become a series of five books. The fourth book revealing events of the trial and the fifth will be in Mark’s POV again. I cannot wait to see who will show up in the trial and what secrets they will reveal. Knowing Ms. Jones, there will be shocking revelations that will keep her readers at the edge of their seats and jaw to the floor.

Inside Out series by Ms. Jones is one of my favorites and one I highly recommend to fans of erotica romance novels who also enjoys mystery, and suspense.

***This book was provided by Edelweiss and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Oh, man. It kills me to give this book only two stars. I really enjoyed the first one, but I LOVED the second one. It gave me such high hopes for what I thought was the last installment.

This book was just a bunch of lukewarm sex scenes strung together with some misunderstandings. The internal dialogue was repetitive, and Chris never answered a question straight on. I felt like he was talking in some code I couldn't crack.

There was no buildup in this book, which is no surprise, because there was never any sort of climax. I was incredibly disappointed, and feel like if this was how things were going to end, Chris and Sara's story could have been told in two books before their characters became unrecognizable.

We are introduced to a bunch of new secondary characters, and predictably all of the women are crazy about Chris and mean to Sara because she 'has' him. The highlites of this book for me were Amber--Chris' former flame--and her Master, Tristan. I really would love to read a book about them. I think there's definitely a story there worth writing!

I felt bad for Chris when his secret was revealed, but I'm not sure I buy it as motivation for him being so rigid and overprotective.

In spite of all that, I still liked Chris. I just wish his character could have been a bit more fleshed out.

In the end, I felt like this installment of the Inside Out Trilogy left me with more questions than answers. Unfortunately I'm not curious enough to read any further.

Will I read more from Lisa Renee Jones? Absolutely! I really enjoyed the first two books, and I'm hoping this one was just a miss for me.

Revealing Us didn't seem to have nearly as much action in it as the others in this trilogy. Or wait, I guess it's not a trilogy anymore?? It seems to be a series now and somehow I completely missed that until the end of the book.

The plot picks up right after the end of Being Me - the very next day and Sara decides to go to Paris with Chris. The mystery of this book seemed to be what Chris's big bad secret was which they kept dancing around. Sara also had quite a few jealous interactions with Chris's former lovers.

Those two things are really the only action in this book, it all revolves around those. When Sara learns Chris's secret it was kind of a let down because there was no drama or issue with the secret.

I was happy to see the two together and dealing with their issues. THe book did resolve all of that and they seem to get their HEA. However the epilogue came out of nowhere, dealing with Ella's disappearance. Yes, Sara was investigating that throughout the book but all of a sudden we had a very minor cliffhanger that dealt with Ella. It felt out of place.

I'm not sure if I'm going to continue with this series. I'm happy with the wrap up of Chris and Sara and I think that's all I needed.

After a very busy and revealing ending in book 2, this concluding book somehow just fizzled out.

Most secrets were revealed in book 2 and like I said in my review, I thought it was great how all the puzzle pieces finally fitted together. We were left with a few more secrets here - mainly the reason behind Chris' brokenness.

What happens is we get dragged through a full length novel to get to the root of this secret which IMO was a bit too simplistic. This saddens me as I enjoyed Being Me largely for the complexity in its plots and subplots involving several characters.

Before we got to this not-so-thrilling revelation, we are dragged back and forth through
1. Sara and Chris declaring their I love yous to one another
2. Chris being cryptic
3. Sara being weak for various reasons
4. Chris trying to protect Sara
5. Chris and Sara having sex where Chris tries to be his controlling self only to lose control
Rinse. Repeat.

ARC kindly provided by the author in exchange for a fair and honest review. Spoiler-free. This book does not end with a cliffhanger. I *highly* recommend reading If I Were You (Inside Out #1) and Being Me (Inside Out #2)before reading Revealing Us (Inside Out#3). 5.0 stars!

I have a massive headache. Why you ask? Maybe because I stayed up all night reading Revealing Us - the third installment of Inside Out Trilogy by Lisa Renee Jones. Once again I devoured another one of her books like an addict. Jones is a master at building suspense, mystery and fogging up my Kindle screen (fanning self and taking my third Advil now).

Revealing Us picks up right where Being Me left off without missing a beat. Chris and Sara are in Paris after almost getting offed by psycho Ava. Sara is desperate to make her relationship with Chris work and uncover all of his dark secrets. She is hungry to understand and explore Chris ties to the BDSM world and his affinity to being whipped. While trying to unravel Chris, Sara has deal with a few obstacles including a couple of whip-wielding ex-partners and her missing friend.

I am completely satisfied that with the HEA conclusion of Chris and Sara‘s dysfunctional relationship. I know this series is supposed to be a trilogy…BUT there is an excellent opportunity to create another spin off tying off a few loose/new ends:
-We know who murdered Rebecca…no body/no crime? Will Ava or Mark really go down for it?
-What will happen with Ella? Where is her fiancé? How is Neuville/mafia billionaire involved?
-Amber’s past?

I hope we get another book or two out of this sinfully sexy page turning series. The Inside Out trilogy has been optioned by STARZ Network for a cable television show, to be produced by Suzanne Todd (Alice in Wonderland). I can’t wait to watch this…it might be one of the first times I put down a book to watch a show. This series and this book is total Kindle Crack.

I am sad to confess that Revealing Us (Inside Out #3) by Lisa Renee Jones had me a little disappointed. The reason I’m sad is because I honestly loved this series. You see I am all about Romantic Suspense! I eat that shit up! I need more than just your basic Contemporary Romance. Don’t get me wrong I love romance, hot sex scenes & delicious alpha-males just like any other 40 something year old women living vicariously through my books but throw in some mystery & suspense & I’m elated! That’s what this series had. I read all three books & all the novellas in between. On this last book I feel like some of that mystery & suspense element was missing and it began to feel like just Contemporary Romance. It was very good & I am still invested in the characters however that’s not the type of read I signed up for. That’s why it pains me to give this book a 3.5 star rating. Revealing Us dealt more with Sara & Chris relationship and his big secret reveal. We get closure on both fronts. I don’t really get why some people seem to be upset that there will be more books to come. To me this trilogy is complete and there are signs of a spin off, so what’s the problem? Unless there is something I don’t know.when I see an epilogue that to me signifies the end of a series/story. This had an epilogue which did leave me feeling like there was an ending. The author also gave us a hint as to what’s to come, which clearly will be what the hell happened to Ella and her story. Being that all these characters intertwine I have no doubt we will see them all again. Without hesitation I will continue to see it through. I highly recommend this series as Book 1 (If I Were You) was GREAT & book 2 (Being Me) was FANTASTIC, and the novellas were well worth the read enhancing the books themselves. I just wish this last book had more of the elements that caused me to fall in love with the series to begin with. So bring on Ella’s story Lisa Renee Jones I’m so ready!
