Winter Ramos, one of the new faces of VH1's hit reality television show, Love& Hip Hop- New York Season 3 delivers a brazen and unabashed memoir of her life in the world of hip hop. In Game Over Winter puts all of her emotions on the page leaving no experience, emotional abuse, secret, or former lover uncovered. From her days as assistant to Fabolous and "friend" to Jada Kiss, to appearing on Love and Hip Hop and being Creative Costume Designer for Flavor unit Films, Winter delivers "a tell-all book on her roster of famous ex-boyfriends and her life in the music industry (MadameNoire.com)." Winter was privy to the cray beyond the videos, private flights, and limos that the cameras caught for us. Her reality and theirs was no game. Game Over is Winter's cautionary tale for the next generation of young women who believe that the fabulous lives of celebrities unveiled in blogs are all FIRE! Stay tuned, because this GAME is about to get real.
To be honest, The only reason that the book was anything, was because she "slutted" herself out, under the delusion that she was using them, when in fact, she was being used. This book was a guilty pleasure of mine, but as I reached the end I realized that she was even more delusional than I thought. She put herself in situations and positions that made me question if she really had it all together like she kept saying throughout the book. Although you have juicy gossip, and surprising hook-ups,she fails to do what she intends to do, which is WARN. A cautionary tale would have some kind of consequence to it? Right?
Wowwwwww! Ok, Winter, I'm feeling your words, no matter how crazy I feel you are for having written a book about the famous rappers and athletes you've been with, but that doesn't change how I feel about the book.
This was a well written book in many respects. First, regardless what others may think of Winter, I believe what she's written. The stuff she's been through is so damn chaotic that it has to be true (chuckle). Winter was definitely a money-motivated woman with her own hidden agendas, so just as she was used, she played the same games.
It appears as though she's grown up a whole lot, but I feel she still has quite a ways to go. Some of the names she dropped in this novel had my jaw dropping, especially what she revealed of some of their lovemaking skills. She certainly had no problem kissing and telling that's for sure, and I just hope she has some security around her because girlfriend is gonna need it. I wish her all the best.
If you love memoirs, you'll love this book. YOU will keep turning the pages, that's for damn sure!
This book, was a superhead miss <<<< winter was so full of herself ... cussing out her mom at 3 years old didn't seem believable !!! And just because you don't take "cash assistance" living in the #projects is PUBLIC ASSISTANCE!!! FYI... she claims that she's not naive, but every dude does the same exact thing to her.she claims that she's not naive, but every dude does the same exact thing to her.Winter also got mad at Lore'l for "fucking for free" with Jae Millz but she was doing the same thing with Slim from Cash Money. The book had. Nothing to do with hip hop imo just jumping from dudes from hip hop . It would've had been more interesting if she actually gained something from these dudes besides an egg on her face. I lost count of how many men she slept with after the game chapter ..... borrow if you REALLY want to read it don't buy it !!!
Winter Ramos should be ashamed of herself. She writes it her book how she used men "with deep pockets" to get material things . She had no problem having sex with them . She judged men and talks about the size of their penis. Men who are famous rappers today that are mentioned in Ms Ramos book are probably so ashamed. You cant take the Ghetto out of Ms Ramos thats for sure. If I wasn't on an airplane I would have thrown the book in the garbage.
Hmmm this book was okay. After going through Karrine Steffans books, I guess I just expected a little more from Winter's tell all. The book was just okay, nothing to write home about or recommend to others.
𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫: 𝐌𝐲 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐇𝐢𝐩 𝐇𝐨𝐩 by Winter Ramos will go down as the first book I’ve ever read that struck my guilty pleasure cord. ⠶ You may remember Winter Ramos from season 3 of the reality show 𝘓𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘏𝘪𝘱-𝘏𝘰𝘱. On the show she discussed the release of this book. That’s how I learned of the tell-all. ⠶ The similarities between Winter Ramos, the author of this memoir, and the fictional character Winter Santiaga from the novel 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫 by Sister Souljah, is mind-blowing. ⠶ If someone told me this memoir is the sequal to 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫, I would absolutely believe them. The mentality, personality and actions of Ramos as it pertains to men, money and relationships resembles that of Winter Santiaga to-a-T! She is exactly what I pictured Winter Santiaga to be as an adult. ⠶ Coincidence? Maybe…maybe not! ⠶ But, while I found the story of Winter Santiaga highly entertaining, I found the story of Winter Ramos disheartening. Reason being, this is not fiction. Her’s is the story of a woman that has no clue of her own worth. So she seeks confidence, value and approval from the rappers she has sex with. Sadly, Winter thinks she’s manipulating the rappers. But the truth is, she’s the one being played. ⠶ Winter writes about quite a few hip hop artists that she has either slept with, or had personal relationships with including JadaKiss, Dame Dash, JaRule, Fabolous, Game, Slim from Cash Money, Swizz Beatz and the list goes on and on. ⠶ This is a real tell all. Winter provides names, dates and locations. She has no shame in how she operates. For example she writes, “For me, it wasn’t serious. I’d grown bored with him but he caught feelings and still felt like it was serious. I led him on, I’ll admit. I had to. The nigga had money and I never knew when I might come across a moment when I would need some. ⠶ I call this book “guilty pleasure because although I didn’t particularly care for Winter, I did enjoy reading the stories🤷🏽♀️. ⠶ I’m giving it 3 1/2 out of 5⭐️s. ⠶
I saw this on hoopla and decided to give it a listen and boy oh boy is this woman delusional. The way that the story is told is quite odd because this woman doesn't realize that she was an object that many just used. It's almost as if she sees herself as the one taking advantage of the industry men and not the other way around. How are you also speaking about another woman banging for free and you aren't receiving anything either? I think she had a reputation in the industry and was sought out because of it. Also, I'm pretty sure projects are government ran buildings therefore making it assistance.
Winter tells all, from her upbringing& struggles to dating athletes & rappers. Having strong feelings for a few, realize what & who she went through, made her who she is today!
Great title for this book - now that she has shown the world who is really is, how far she was willing to go, and who she used to get there - not to mention what she was willing to do just for a new bag or a pair of shoes! Now, The Game is surely over for her! The Game must have already been over for her to be this desperate for a few bucks! Does she even realize what she has divulged? Does she realize she has written a tell all book - not against rappers and the hip hop world - but against herself? Is she proud of the life she has lead? I really do not understand why any women - especially a new mother - (whose child will read this book one day) would tell others about her life as a whore! Because no matter how u describe the whys - it is what it is - can't sugar coat that! And, does she realize she was only one of millions? It's not like she accomplished anything but how to be a whore! Also, in her book title she lists "her love for Hip Hop" - no - it was her love for "dick" (I hate to use that word but I can't say just sex because it was important to her how big or little each man was - and how good or bad in bed using his male part) and her willingness to sleep with anyone with bucks in the Hip Hop world! It seems she is proud of this fact throughout her book and in the interviews concerning her book! Does she also realize these men laughed about her? Used her? Girls like her r not the marrying kind! And one day, that abortion she talks so nonchalantly about will need to be explained to the children she did decide to keep! If she didn't want children at that time in her life - and instead of blaming those men that didn't like to wear condoms - sleeping with every Tom, Dick, and Harry that would sleep with her that she could benefit from - seems like she had the responsibility to cover that situation - and avoid this from happening - not blaming - then getting rid of an innocent baby! It was sure to happen! I have made many bad choices throughout my life - but mistakes are things we do that we don't realize the consequences for at the time - she can not call these mistakes! Or bad decisions - she willing did what she did - she knew it was very wrong - but continued to do them until The Game ran out!
I find it hard to believe that there was no one in this young woman's life to tell her that maybe this book should have been edited just a little. The story had some grammatical errors but it also lacked cohesion. She mentioned new people like she talked about them before and it just didn't flow the way a typical tell all usually does. I guess that's fine. It wasn't like it was unintelligible. I can't believe you would go through all that and still be naive. So, for lack of a better word... She came off as a little dumb. Even though she claimed to be smart, able to peep "game", and on her "grind". She was up front about men needing to take care of her financially. But, that didn't always seem to work out for her. She also seemed to get played quite often. Her story didn't make me sad (like stories like this sometimes do) or even make me feel (at the end) like she redeemed herself or smartened up. It just seemed like the rest of her life would be the same as the first half. I can't imagine how chronicling the men that used you and you used for sex, and money (respectively) is the best idea. She said at the beginning of the book that she was pregnant. Would she want her child to read this later?
I like Winter. At least I want to like her. She has a story that she wanted to tell. I'm just unsure if this is the story. Winter is a groupie in denial, even throughout the book. I like her minus the airs that she puts on. At least I think that I like her. She's very contradictory in this book to me. She wants to come across as a strong, heartless inspiring woman but she does not. She was/is a gold digger/groupie whether she owns the title or not. Sexing men for money, shoes, bags and notoriety is what a groupie/gold digger does. This does not compare to Karrine Steffans. This book reads like that was the intent. Karrine held back only the identity of "Popa". Winter held back "Big Money and even minor characters like Aaliyah and the singer one of her sponsors played her for. Why? I no longer care. Editing could use a re-edit.
Game Over, this book was an interesting read really enjoyable. Winter gave us a sneak peek in to the world of hip hop, I think she did a great job of doing so. She gave us a lot into her exciting life....she told us thing about herself that probably no one would have ever done in her "world" and I commend her for that. she gave intimate details of the live of the men she dealt with some may not be to happy with her but hey it is what it is. I guess you can say Winter was doing Winter, she lived life and enjoyed reading. I wished she would have let us know move about Big Money such as a real name, but hey I guess we as readers can't have it all. For the most part I really enjoyed this read. Winter I give you 2
So, I finally finished reading Winter's book and I must say I was a bit surprised. First off, she did drop quite a few names from the hip hop scene. It didn't seem like she really held back on too much. If their sex game was on point, or if they were a straight 2 thumbs down in the bedroom department, she definitely pointed it out. I was surprised that she named everybody in the industry that she had sexed with the exception of 1 dude. But being the nosy reader that I am, and coupled with the clues she gave, it wasn't hard to tell who "Big Money" is! There will be no spoilers here, needless to say. If you're looking for a short and decent read, I suggest you pick up a copy of Game Over. It's definitely entertaining.
this book is so depressing i can only read a few pages here & there. terribly written, but what makes it sad is that this girl apparently doesnt see that sleeping with men for shopping sprees & apartments just makes her a prostitute. she lets guys treat her like garbage but thinks shes on top because they are rappers. it makes me sad. what wouldve made a better story is how she grew up in the projects but worked hard & became a stylist to some of hip hops biggest names. this book is basically garbage. & a bummer.
This book was pretty good. We got to see who Winter Ramos really is and where she came from. One thing for sure, she pulled the panties down on these industry dudes operations. This book had some highs and lows. I would have liked to to read more of the juicy details, she could have really embarass a few people, but I think she kept it classy for the most point. She confirmed just what we were thinking was going on in the Hip Hop world.
It should have been titled.... "How To Be A HOE!!". Feels like it was written by a middle schooler. A lot of info was supposed to be touched on later in the book that never was... Same words and lines used over and over again.... Scattered stories... Like, as she remembered she just dropped it in, whether it pertained to the subject at hand or not...
Wow! I couldn't put it down once I started reading it! Winter does a great job recounting her industry rendezvous and styling jobs with some of the most prestigious men in the game. I give her credit for being forthcoming about her ups and downs from Damon Dash to Fabolous. I hope Winter Ramos comes out with a sequel to Game Over.
Was told to read this by a friend who watches Love & HIp Hop. I am not really into tell all books because I think it's desperate, and unnecessary especially, when you know that the person is in a relationship -- you can be ruining that, granted it takes two to tango but you look foolish. This book, still made me feel the same way, however It was somewhat engaging.
I picked us this book originally to read about one of my favorite mc's dirty laundry, however, what I read was much more mind blowing. I formed new opinion on Winter, both negative and positive. If you're into shows like 'Love & Hip Hop' and 'Chrissy & Mr.Jones', than I would highly recommend. I only hope that she writes another book because I see more potential in her than this.
It was an ok book. It kept my attention. It seems like these girls say they're not groupies but yet they are still messing around with multiple men in the industry. They continue to mess with these men even when they get treated bad by them and even though they have wives and girlfriends.
I really enjoyed this book, it really takes you into a side of hip hop most don't talk about... you kind of get a sense of how/who these rappers are, at least from Winter's point of view..and she's brutally honest. although she drops names, I really want to know who "big money" is....
i liked that she owned her dirt unlike K. Steffans. She helped mold Fab's (loso) career. She fell hard for jadakiss, oh the joys of swiss beat's,s who ha'. Pickin Dame ova jigga and a bitta hearless bitch's rise to the top. I can't be mad at her by any means neccesary attitude. Get it girl!
This is obviously not an example of masterful writing or gripping storytelling, so don't expect that. But if you want to read something that's mildly informational and fairly repetitive, then read this.
Definitely not a intellectual book; however if you are familiar with hip hop you will see she has slept with damn near all the rappers from the 90's and early 2000's. Smut at its finest! Definitely kept reading to find out who she slept with next.
I could not finish this book. It was so inconsistent and the editing was horrible. I would not even watch it if it became a movie. Not everyone is meant to be a writer and Ms. Ramos proved that notion.
