In The Name of Love #1

Meeting the Billionaire Boss

Rate this book
Edward Cavendish: Losing my wife two years ago was not something anyone expected. Lucille was beautiful and successful, and I thought we’d spend our lives together. Turns out I was wrong. Facing the world feels impossible so I shut myself away in my mansion in the countryside where only my young son can bring a smile to my face.

Ava Thorne: I’m broke. More than broke, actually. I have mountains of debt and it’s getting worse by the day. I've been working two jobs to support my sick mother and younger brother, but when I’m fired from the one over a mistake that wasn’t mine, I don’t know where to turn.

Edward: My son’s nanny is going away on the trip of a lifetime, so I need to find a replacement. It has to be someone we can trust but the thought of having anyone else in my home turns me cold. Plus, there’s the inheritance clause that states I must be married on my 35th birthday and the date looms ever closer

Ava: When the opportunity of a lifetime arises in the chance to earn a large sum of money fast, I’m forced to confront my past and decide if I can embrace a future I never dreamt of.

And it all starts with meeting the billionaire boss

Billionaire Edward Cavendish is looking for a short term nanny for his four year old son Joe while Joe’s normal nanny goes on a long overdue holiday. Ava is looking for work and seems the perfect person to be Joe’s nanny. Once Ava starts to work for Edward he starts to see her as not just a nanny. Could Ava be the answer to the inheritance clause put in place by his late grandfather who stipulated that in order to inherit Cavendish Construction Edward must be married by his 35th birthday?

This is a very short and sweet read coming in at just over 200 pages that really cheered me up and made me smile. I would have happily read another 100 pages and by the time I got to the end of the story I didn't want it to end.
I am a fan of the marriage of convenience trope so I knew I was going to love this book and I wasn’t disappointed. I really enjoyed the storyline which is told from the perspective of both Ava and Edward. At the start of the book we are introduced to Ava who has just lost her job through no fault of her own and is put forward for the nanny role. Like Ava I too was intrigued especially as before she is even told any details about the role she is required to sign an NDA. Ava was a very likeable character who finds herself in a difficult position. She is the sole provider for her mum and little brother and although the nanny role is short term the money she is being offered will change her and her family’s life for the better. Ava may not have been a nanny before but she is a natural and immediately bonds with Joe. I have to say I loved the first meeting between Ava and Edward. It was certainly memorable especially because Ava and Joe are rolling down a hill in the garden on the grass and that’s when Edward sees Ava for the first time. Everything about Edward screamed book boyfriend. He is broody and handsome so I can understand why Ava is attracted to him. There is certainly a mutual attraction between Ava and Edward. When he pulled some grass from her hair it was so adorable. Although Edward initially proposes a marriage of convenience to Ava as a way to guarantee his inheritance he quickly starts to see Ava as so much more and in a different light.

This is the first book in the ‘In The Name of Love series and I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the books in the series.

Modern day Cinderella fairytale romance

Ava finds a job as a temporary nanny for an adorable little boy named Joe who is four and I thought he was just so adorable.
His father Edward is bitter after he lost his wife a few years ago but also he hints there was something else not right in his marriage.
Edwards’s grandfather changed his will before he did 6 months ago and Edward now has to be married by 35 (he is 34) or he loses his grandfather’s shares in the family business and won’t be CEO.
He makes the proposal to Ava who lives with her sick mother and 10 year old brother and they have no money so the proposal means her family will be looked after for life.
However things don’t go as planned and they start to fall in love but stubborn traits mean they try to protect their hearts and push each other away.
I did enjoy this book and no real trauma or tragedy occur but in parts I did feel the story didn’t flow as well as it could have and some of their thoughts seemed immature and not things a 25 & 34 year old would behave.
I think the ending and their meeting near the end was a bit rushed and their wedding should have happen but we now have to wait until May 2024 for the second book which will be his friend Jack and the wedding planner Grace in order to see what happens next and if I had known that I would have waited until all the books were out before starting this.

I loved this book and found myself devouring it.
I loved the story line and the relationship between Ava & Edward. You could feel the chemistry from the outset and I liked how their relationship developed, helped through their love of Joe.
Edward was just perfect .... 😍.
Ava & Joe's friendship was so cute to witness and this was such an important part of the book. Ava was such a strong woman who strives to give her family the best she can and her strength and dedication was so nice.
The ending of the book was so good and one that I was rooting for. I am now so excited to read the next two books in the series and look forward to them.

A Cinderella with a twist story. Rags to riches but with the heroine in control. I loved all the main characters, they became integral very quickly and were not too complex for a shorter read. I enjoyed also the modern prose and spiciness of this story, giving extra dimension to this book and making me want to read on. A real cosy night in with a glass of wine read, and a must for modern romantics. I’m so happy that this is book 1 and I look forward eagerly to reading more. A truly enjoyable experience and highly recommended.

Cinderella re-telling or Prince Charming re-telling

This was a new author for me and I did not know what to expect. After reading this story, she is now added to my list of authors to always read! I loved her character development of their past and present and how they moved forward together for their future. Will read the next two books in this series to see what happens with the MMC’s two best friends

Good story. Easy to read. But 4 stars from me, because the end, I felt.. well, didn't give me the "the end" feeling I was waiting for. I felt it got a little bit cut off. And another thing.. I had a deja vu feeling. A few years back read a very, very similar story.. 🤔 Other than that, it was good.

It was ok

Kind of a standard story, pretty predictable but anybody who can write a book has my support. Not overly spicy

Meeting my billionaire boss is exactly the type of novel you can easily lose yourself in! Romantic novel, with a boy meets girl storyline with added spice 🌶!
This book flowed really well and I found myself loving the characters especially the relationships between the main characters. This book was easy to read and I found myself imagining I was living in the massive house in the countryside! Really enjoyable and am looking forward to reading other books by this author!

My Thoughts: this was the palette cleanser I needed at the time, an easy book to lose yourself in and lose track of time at the same time, I had a cup of tea, a blanket and a packet of biscuits, I was so settled that this was a one sitting read for me!

I adored all the main characters, Ava was selfless, Edward was just the perfect dad and Joe was just the cutest little boy ever 😍😍

After losing his wife and telling his grandad he wouldn’t remarry it was put in as a clause that Edward has to fulfil before his 35th birthday in order to become the CEO of the company, when he sees the way Ava is with Joe and seeing Joes little face light up when they’re together he starts to see a solution to his problem

Although as expected it’s not long before real feelings get involved and I was here for it, it wasn’t instant or rushed, but it got hot and heavy eventually 🥵

Lots of cute moments between them that made me swoon and say “aww out loud.

My only bug bear was that it just wasn’t long enough, I needed more Ava and Edward.. I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to them.

I cannot wait for the rest of the trilogy!
