3 This Was NOT what I was expecting Stars
First off, I apologize for all Tangled fans. I gave Tangled 6 stars. I loved it so much I could re-read it a million times. I was very excited about Twisted and just couldn’t believe my eyes that I finally landed a copy.
Sorry, I need to take a moment before I begin myrant review.
Twisted is the story about Kate and Drew’s going through problems after Tangled. I want to say, I am very happy this isn’t a recap from Tangled. Since Emma Chase waited so long to release the second book of the series I would have been disappointed if it was a recap.
TAKING A MAJOR BREATH
The beginning was great, a little quiet and happy. This is from Kate’s POV. Kate and Drew are the happy, cute and sexy couple. There are some steamy scenes and as much as I enjoyed those parts. I had major issues with the way Twisted is written. I do not get Kate’s POV. I do not. I can understand Drew’s, but I feel like Emma Chase wrote Twisted the exact same way she wrote Tangled (like the “comical� way), but it didn’t work for me. It was awkward and it didn’t flow.
The worst part of the book is at the 30% mark and I nearly wanted to cry because I was so upset Ms. Chase pushed this book in that direction. Twisted was just filled with angst! What do I mean by that? It means a simple problem could have been resolved if both Drew and Kate talked it out with common sense. The root of their main problem was miscommunication and I can’t stand that in books.
I wanted to slap Kate so many times and I wanted to slap Drew so many times.
So here’s where some may disagree with me, because I know a lot of people like that kind of stuff. I do not like that writing and I felt heart-broken that this was the storyline.
Towards the climatic ending, it got better, but by the time I got there I was just so devastated by the direction at the 30% mark, I couldn’t get over it. I just wanted the story to be over and move forward. Oh and there is a flashback, meaning, the ending was written in the beginning. I know Chase did that in Tangled, but somehow it made me angry in Twisted.
I’m sorry, this just didn’t work for me and it killed it me so much! I think my expectations were set too high and I was just expecting greatness. At one point we did get Drew’s POV and I loved it. I laughed out loud at some parts and the dialogue between Kate and Drew was funny again. I think Ms. Chase should just stick to male POV’s. It just suits her style better.

After having read and enjoyed back in December 2013, I interviewed Drew for the Berner Zeitung for the first time. I have decided to do another interview. Brace yourselves coz Baba is not in the best of mood and she gotta give it to them straight.
Drew pulls the front of his pants away from his waist and looks down. "Nope--still got a dick. Which explains a lot, because your reasoning would only make sense to a woman."
The story of my life, I got sidetracked by the quotes. Let's give it another shot, shall we?
Baba:
Hello Drew. It's me again. Baba, a freelance journalist for the Berner Zeitung.
Drew:
*makes confused face* Excuse me, should I know you?
Baba:
*makes angelic face* Yes, Drew sweetie, we've met already, although under much more pleasant circumstances. But then again, you're looking at plenty of women, I'm only a plain little number among so many staggering flowers.
Drew:
No, no, no. I only look at my sweet Kate these days. Uh...I'm really sorry but your face doesn't seem familiar to me.
Baba:
That's entirely possible since my face looks a tiny bit strained after having witnessed that effin' clusterfuck of yours. Do I make myself clear? By the way, Kate's on her way to meet up with us, so she can contribute something "nice" to this cozy round of ours. I hope she's got a good color in store coz I gotta tell you, dude, anything is possible!
Drew:
*rubs his hands desperately* *sweat breaks out on his forehead* Uh…I'm not sure how to respond to you; proper words seem to elude me at the moment.
Baba:
A speechless Drew. Wonders will never cease! You don't have to say anything at all right now coz I'm so effin' pissed off. *Baba fumes*
Someone is knocking resolutely at the door.
Baba:
Come on in!
Kate:
Hi! Sorry I'm late.
Baba:
That's alright, Kate honey. *Baba smiles sweetly at Kate* I'm enjoying Drew's company and we've had quite a chat already. However, if you're late again I'm going to staple your hands to the conference table.
Kate:
*gasps*
Drew:
*mouths at Kate* She must be PMSing.
Baba:
Shut it, Drew. I can lip-read. I am over-fucking-joyed to see you both. Now let's get down to business, shall we? I swear you two need a divine intervention to save you from your own stupidity and that's why I'm here. Oh, and Kate honey, remove your Jimmy Choos and put them in the corner, please. I don't want to get one of those thrown at my head when you can't rein in your temper while I'm going to give you a well-deserved lecture!
Kate:

Baba:

Let's get back to the topic at hand. What did you mean with Kate having a good color in store?

*says to Drew* Yep, I distinctly remember that you were slow on the uptake as well when I was talking to you about TGIF during our last interview. BTW, that was so much fun, wasn't it? Well, back to the issue at hand. Let's see…a little green paint from Drew, some yellow paint from Kate, and Baba is going to shake it all together, and boom--she gets a whole new couple at the end of that process. A sexy lovestruck couple who happens to talk to each other early, often and well. Et voilà. Easy peasy. No more clusterfucks of epic proportions in the future.
Drew:
Baba:
Excuse me? What do you mean?
Drew:
Your lecture, of course, are you going to
Baba:
See? I am so pro communication, you morons! Do I have to spell it out for you? Lack of communication and miscommunication is one of my biggest pet peeves! In case your minds are still functioning, you can use your brain cells to give a couple impulses so you can form reasonable words and compose entire (coherent) sentences. You don't just assume stuff all the time. Use your mouth to ask questions or use sign language or whatever the hell you want but do communicate properly please. If the questions are not answered satisfactorily then you do a follow up. Do. Not. Jump. To. Conclusions. Ever. And, to respond to your question, yes, Geez, this is more important than Kama Sutra and Michelangelo.
Kate:

Hold off, Kate. Here's the next lecture. and being completely unsuspecting borders on juvenile behavior. Come on, really? What the heck were you thinking?
Plus, it's too easy to blame spoiling for a fight. You were being irrational and unfair.

Spare me. I don't wanna hear it. And this is my final lecture. I could practically smell blah blah blah. I didn't like your POV because you are not half as funny as Drew who, lucky me, made me laugh my ass off once again. (*Drew smiles smugly at Kate*) But, unfortunately, didn't really save the book for me. (*Drew's smug smile has been wiped off his face*) The plot was incredibly predictable at all levels and way too lame to justify that exorbitant price of 8.13 euro for 273 legendary (excuse me, I'm being sarcastic) pages.
Drew:
I think I should be in charge for the next book. Kate honey, don't give me that look, please. It's not my fault that my POV is funnier, cruder and more engaging. *smiles innocently*
Baba:
Yep, I want your POV back and all of your brain cells. Naturally this extends to Kate as well (I mean the brain cells not the POV). You need to step up your game, guys!

Let me lay it all out. I think the plot was effin' ridiculous, unrealistic and that plot device is so old it's not even funny anymore. Jumping to conclusions, misunderstanding over misunderstanding and the whole situation is totally FUBAR. I didn't like Kate's POV which, by the way, kinda reminded me of Drew but wasn't as stellar as Drew's, not by a long shot. And what the heck was up with Billy? If I remember correctly I didn't like that asshat in Tangled at all and now I kinda fell for kind Billy boy. Huh? Did he have a personality change? Also, I think that Kate was as much to blame for that epic clusterfuck as Drew. Seriously? It's just pathetic and I doubt that real people would act so stupidly. And last but not least, I was so effin' annoyed when Drew and Kate I mean WTF? Did she do it to prolong the misery? Jesus Christ on a crutch. It goes without saying that the epilogue was the BEST part of the entire book. I want Drew's POV back. Drew forever. <33333
Recommended to readers who enjoy to read a predictable clusterfuck. Well, who knows, Drew might make it worth your while�

4 Twisted stars!
After hearing there was going to be a sequel for Tangled, I was stoked. I couldn’t wait to be back in Drew Evan’s head. Wait... did someone say this WASN’T from Drew’s pov? I was a bit hesitant of how this would be, reading from Kate’s pov and not Drew’s. I have to say bravo to the author. Emma Chase nailed Kate’s pov. I was shocked that it was almost as good as Drew’s for me. Kate was funny and although I wanted to see what was going on in Drew’s head, I enjoyed getting Kate’s perspective.
But back to Drew... you know I love his sexy self.
Drew and Kate have been together two years. Living together, working together, being together- things are going well for them. That is until things get all messed up. To leave out any story line spoilers, just know you are getting on the ride known as the ‘Emotional Rollercoaster.� The main issue and conflict of the book could have been easily avoided, but communication isn’t always this couples strong suit. If a couple can’t communicate, can they really make it work?
It was nice catching up with all of the side characters- I’m even more excited to read Matthew and DeeDee’s book now! And thank god for little Mckenzie and her comic relief!
As much as I love Drew Evans, there were times I wanted to knock him upside the head. But I couldn’t stay mad at him for that long. He’s just too damn lovable. Even though his actions were screwed up at times, he always loves Kate, and I feel like he proves it in a big way. Kate wasn’t perfect or blameless either, but being in her head gave us a certain insight to the way she was feeling so it was easy to sympathize with her.
Twisted was different than Tangled in many ways. It still had it’s laughs, but there was some serious stuff going on as well. It was full of angst, drama and stress inducing moments. Miscommunications, relationship issues, hard choices. They were all prominent factors in this story. At times, I felt the author was trying to torture me. My emotions were all over the place. I laughed, I cried, and I was a nervous wreck for over half of the book! But don’t fret. There are still some very funny and very sexy times!�
My most favorite part of the story- the epilogue. Why? .I absolutely love this authors writing style. I will read anything she writes! But word to the wise- if you start this expecting another Tangled, change your expectations. It’s a different kind of story. Even though it wasn’t perfect for me like the first book, it’s still one I enjoyed reading.

Skimming pages is NEVER a good sign...
I refuse to believe this book was written by the same person who's written Tangled.
I loved Tangled.
This book?
No.
It was DRAGGED.
You know, when you pull an elastic band, and then leave it.. it hurts us only in the bargain.
This book was like that elastic band, being pulled to the brim and then left, which hurts us readers.. because after TANGLED.. This book didn't live up.
I only liked the epilogue of this book, because it was written in Drew's POV.
I didn't enjoy being inside Kate's head. It made me want to punch her. HARD.
This book was SUPER DRAGGED.
I didn't enjoy it one bit. Tangled was a 100 times better.. But saying that.. I will read Tied. But that is like months away. [Oct]
Were my expectations high?
NO.
I expected it to be not as good as Tangled.. I kept them low to avoid disappointment.
And here I am. SUPER DISAPPOINTED :(
This book had no story, No humor.
One could have forgone this book.
It just wasn't needed. Nothing happened..

This book was like that elastic band, being pulled to the brim and then left, which hurts us readers.. because after TANGLED.. This book didn't live up.
I only liked the epilogue of this book, because it was written in Drew's POV.
I didn't enjoy being inside Kate's head. It made me want to punch her. HARD.
This book was SUPER DRAGGED.
I didn't enjoy it one bit. Tangled was a 100 times better.. But saying that.. I will read Tied. But that is like months away. [Oct]
Were my expectations high?

I expected it to be not as good as Tangled.. I kept them low to avoid disappointment.

And truthfully, after the 35% mark, I'd rather have had the pie...
Last we saw Kate and Drew, they were together and basking in lots of post coital glow. I wasn't really sure why a second book was necessary, but I loved Tangled and Emma Chase's writing, so there was no question about me reading this one.
Now in reading that quote, you're probably confused about what happens in this book for such a sharp turn around to be taken, right? And you're now expecting me to tell you what happens, right?
Well dream on! Cause I'm not doing it. I'm sadistic like that, what can I say?
Let's just say that Drew screws up. BIG TIME. And by big time, I mean he left me wondering
Tangled is told entirely in Kate's POV. I was a little worried that nothing could possibly beat the awesomeness that was Drew in book 1. And you know what? You really can't. But Kate's POV came pretty damn close. Add in all the characters from the previous book, and there were plenty of laugh out loud moments,

But saying all that, I still liked the book quite a bit. I just didn't love it. It was great catching up with all my favorite characters from the last book, and I'm practically salivating for Delores and Matthew's story after the little teaser at the end of this one.
I loved getting more Drew and Kate, but I'm not sure that a full length book was really necessary here. I could have done with a novella. But hey, that's just my opinion here.

First of all, WOW!!! OMG, Kate!! Who knew?! This is her story, and there is a lot more to her than we see from Drew's POV in Tangled. You thought she was a goody two-shoes girl? Me too. In reality? Oh, not even.
It's two years later, and Drew and Kate are going strong. Or, so they think. Until... well, I can't say. But there is a big 'UNTIL' moment. And Drew messes up. (No surprise there, right?!) And so the course these two are on suddenly shifts, they are at a big impasse, and nothing is as it was.
Be prepared for an emotional up/down ride, biting your nails off, and yelling loud profound words! Seriously!! I wanted to scream "DREEEWWWW!!!" through much of the book. Sometimes it was in anger or frustration, other times it was in warning, and still other times it was just me being in total awe of him. And when he pours his heart out to Kate, it will have you on your knees! I just love this guy! He is a strong presence in this book, even if it is Kate's story.
The motley crew of friends and family from Tangled are all here. Dee Dee is a fucking crackup in this one! I am so glad we get her story next, I cannot wait for that one.
Final Thoughts
Yes, I loved this book!! However, just like Drew - it was awesome, but not perfect. I had some small niggles about this story in some places, but I wont go into detail as that would be a spoiler. I will just say this: Was this story as great as Tangled? Yes and no. Parts of it blows the first book out of the water (oh, it's HOT!), but other parts had some 'slow lulls' that I didn't remember experiencing in Tangled. It is a slight bit darker and more serious in tone than Tangled, too. But if you're worried about not liking Kate's POV, I would put those worries to rest. She is one awesome lady, and Drew certainly knows how to pick 'em.
Bottom line, if you loved Tangled this is A MUST READ you will not be able to put down!!!

Spoiler free review! This one seems to be garnering all kinds of spoilers. I had friends coming out of the woodwork trying to spoil it for me even as I was reading it! What's up with that?!
It's hard to not compare this book to book one. But it's just so different. Tangled was so over the top hilarious, and the humor was really the biggest thing that people took away from that book. When I remember reading it, I remember laughing my tush off. And Drew. Oh, yes, I remember Drew. He's such a lovable jerk, I couldn't help but love him. But in Twisted, there is a lot less Drew. He's not even in nearly half of the page time, and I for one, really missed him :( When he was present, he was either being a complete ass or he was being a complete schmoozer. He definitely shows his colors on two completely opposite ends of the spectrum.
I think the wow factor for me really came from getting the male point of view...specifically Drew's pov, really, because he's such a memorable character. Though I do want to add that the epilogue is completely in Drew's pov and it was my favorite part of the book.
THE CONFLICT: Oh, my gosh, the conflict!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was my biggest problem with this story, and I can't say much of anything without giving it away. I can suspend belief while reading books; in fact, I often have to. But the conflict in Twisted is the entire premise for the book, and therefore needed to be believable. The entire thing is a miscommunication. In fact, if ONE SINGLE WORD had been spoken, this entire conflict wouldn't have happened and Kate and Drew would have had so much less heartbreak. Not to mention Drew's initial reaction was so over the top that he reinforces how not ready for a relationship he is. I still think Drew needed a more epic grovel. His misunderstanding caused so much pain and his knee jerk reaction shocked and disgusted me.
I have to say, however, that Kate is an awesome character for me. As much as I love Drew and still had major issues with him in this book, Kate really won me over. Yes, her reactions are bit dramatic but trying to put myself in her shoes and to have the love of my life so blatantly disrespect me that way would likely lead to me having a very similar reaction to hers.
I love Kate's friends as well. I love the loyalty that they show her, and I also love Kate's advice about not telling your friends about the bad parts of your relationship. She advises you to tell his family, because only they will love him enough not to hate him afterward. Haha...so true. Soooooo true. There is a lot of really great insight into relationships in this book. Small things, really. A lot of obvious things that hit you over the head, some moments wrapped in funny packages, and still others told with more serious overtones.
While this didn't have the constant hilarity that book one did, Kate's mind is still a funny place to be. Her insults she mentally comes up with when she hits the "anger" portion of grief is simply awesome. I need to write these insults down and use them later. A couple of faves...Molester of Llamas, Infected Dick Cheese, Dick Toucher, and Eater of Ass. Bahaha!!! Cracks me up!!
Another thing that I really appreciated here was how there was a lot of follow up after the conflict is resolved.
The epilogue is epic, and we get a taste of the next book, which is about Kate and Drew's friends. And I do believe, another from the male point of view. **Happy Dancing!!!**

BUT it was still an enjoyable solid read and I'm still a big fan of the author's writing style so I'll definitely read the next book in the series when it comes out. Maybe my expectations of this one were just a bit too high since Tangled was one of my favorite reads of 2013.

Okay, so this second books picks up two years after the end of Tangled, and show us the life of Drew and Kate.
But Drew being Drew, and Kate being, well, Kate, will have their own very particular way of dealing with the curve balls that life throws in their way. (Yes, it’s pretty much it.)
First, let me describe you this book in a couple of seconds:

And well, that’s it. I got to say that yes, my expectations were really high because of the greatness of the first, but still, I was expecting more.
Rating: 4 Stars.
Storyline: This was extremely hard for me to rate. I was torn between 3 and 4 stars because the excess of unnecessary drama that could be easily avoided if it wasn’t for the ridiculous misunderstandings and lack of communication.
I ended up giving it 4 starts because despite everything I still love Drew and Kate� and I still love this series.
But if you’re expecting a light and completely fun book like the first, well, don’t. This is a much emotional reading with some angst in the middle. It would have been a lot better if it was just a novella, with less drama and more centered in the main subject that originated all of the plotline:
Writing Style: Kate’s POV. Extremely well written, some fun moments and emotionally draining.
Character Development: Although Drew pissed me off a lot of times, I still loved him. And he ended up completely redeeming in my eyes. I loved being inside Kate’s head, she is a great heroine. The supportive characters are completely nuts and awesome as ever.
Steam: Hot.

If you read this book expecting another Tangled you'll be sorely disappointed. This book is nothing like it's predecessor and that's why I loved it.
Don't get me wrong. I loved Tangled but Twisted shows a side to Emma Chase that we've never seen before. In a way, Twisted is more fleshed out than Tangled. The plot was solid and it could have gone horribly wrong and cliched but Emma Chase stuck with it and executed it really well.
The Story
It's two years after the events from Tangled. Drew and Kate are living together and everything was well and good until Drew screwed it all up.
He hurt Kate.
And I was like...
Yeah. There were some pretty good angst in this book, which I thoroughly enjoyed. But despite of its more serious tone, there are still plenty of laugh out loud moments in this book courtesy of the man himself, Drew and the rest of the gang.
And oh, did I mention that this book is hot?
While this book is told mainly from Kate's point of view, Drew's POV did make an appearance with some very unforgettable words of wisdom. So Drew fans; don't despair. But what really endeared this book to me was Kate. I thoroughly enjoyed delving into her back story with DeeDee and Billy; their friendship, their family--everything!!

2.5 -Just Say No to Drama - Stars
Don't get me wrong, I still love Emma Chase to death and enjoy her writing overall but I just didn't love this one. I will still be reading Dee Dee's book. I'm not going to spoil it and I'll also say I would still encourage you to read it because you may love it.
I, however, am NOT a fan of unnecessary
And this book had plenty. All because of a misunderstanding. These two are lawyers. Shouldn't they know not to ASS-U-ME anything?
I blame Drew a little more but it's also Kate's fault as well. And neither one gave the other time to talk and get clarification on anything.

Hot, snarky, intense and frustrating. Twisted will have you glued to the pages until you read them all!
Kate and Drew are remarkable characters. I grew to love them in Tangled and continuation of their story in Twisted doesn’t disappoint. But while in Tangled we got insight into male head, this instalment shows us female perspective of relationships. Two years later, new problems, different approach, same characters. That is Twisted.
Once again, I highlighted numerous quotes and passages. Emma Chase has an incredible way with words and it makes her books stand out among other books in this genre. Her writing style is catchy, entertaining and makes it impossible for readers to put it down before they finish it.
Even if this was Kate’s "show" and her POV, Drew still shined the brightest. He may be the most impulsive guy ever waking this earth, but he is still so unresistibly lovable. And he cracks me up as no one else! If for nothing else, you should read this book because of Drew.
Twisted has different feel than Tangled. Sometimes, there may have been too much drama. But you know what? Overall it really worked. Just go into this book blind, enjoy and experience it all yourself. I’m already looking forward to Tied. At this point, I cannot imagine having enough of Drew and Kate!

Kate and Drew are remarkable characters. I grew to love them in Tangled and continuation of their story in Twisted doesn’t disappoint. But while in Tangled we got insight into male head, this instalment shows us female perspective of relationships. Two years later, new problems, different approach, same characters. That is Twisted.

Did you like Tangled?
Well, if you thought Drew's voice was hilarious, and can't wait to read more from him about his relationship with Kate?
Go somewhere else.
Yeah, this whole book (other than a little epilogue thingy) is told from Kate's point of view. And while I love Kate, she's just not as funny. So, no, this book does not have the same kind vibe as Tangled. I'm not saying that to keep you from reading Twisted, I just want to warn you to get your expectations in check. It's still a good romance, it's just different.
It's a fairly compact story that starts a few years after the first book left Drew & Kate with their HEA. I liked it, but there were a few issues I had with some parts of the plot.
Ugh. This one is difficult to review with giving spoilers, but (basically) after a huge misunderstanding, Drew screws up.
BIG TIME.
The entire thing was such a fairly obvious mix-up, and you'll kind of roll your eyes at the ridiculous 'snowball into nonsense' that ends their relationship. Honestly, if either of them had attempted to talk about what was happening, the story would've been over in 50 pages.
Him: You mean I didn't see what I thought I saw?!
Her: No, it was something else entirely
Him: So you love me?
Her: Yes! And as an added bonus...
It's annoying when there's an easy answer just staring a couple in the face, but they're collectively too idiotic to open a line of communication. But I get it, there has to be something to shake things up, and in this case it was the old Jumping To Conclusions problem.
Still. I'd like it to be a little less contrived.
But.
The pace of the book bumped along nicely, and it didn't drag out the inevitable facepalm that Drew had coming to him...for too long. And Chase seems to be the kind of author who can get away with plot holes, because her writing is so friggin' bouncy and fun! Damn you, Emma Chase!

I loved that her ex (from the last book) really redeemed himself, and helped her out so unselfishly. Her mom was awesome, and it was nice to get to know her in this story. It's so nice to see family & friends portrayed as a group that has your back! You know, instead of the usually passive/aggressive relationships I normally find myself reading about in chick-lit.
There was one thing at the end that for some reason really grated on my nerves. In fact, it annoyed me so much that I felt like I couldn't end this review without ranting about it!

The reason to my somehow low rating is the incessant and absurdly foolish misunderstanding, nevertheless i really liked Kate's POV, even though i was hoping to catch a little more of Drew's piece of mind. This book doesn't add much to Drew and Kate's story but you get snippets of Drew's family too, with a special mention of the lovely and growing up Mackenzie.
I'd still recommend it if you liked Drew and Kate in tangled, with a warning about thedrama angst.

I had really extraordinarily high hopes for this book. That's the problem when you loved a book that much, you can't expect less than you were used to.
Last year after reading , i found myself looking for the feel of it in every romance book i was starting, i scrutinized every recommendations in hopes to find something similar, even vaguely... Useless.
Tangled was an alien in the department, a man's POV, so arrogant and cocky, but oh so lovable.
To say this one didn't meet my expectations is an understatement.
Twisted

Everything started just right.
The story although narrated by Kate was off to a great start. I knew already that Kate was my kind of girl, a sassy bitch with a really soft underside. She could be my twin.
The prologue was brillant. I definitely needed more Drew and Kate and i was wrongly lead to think that i was in for a treat. I was wrong.
I expected twisted situations, quirky and hilarious ones, but the fact is this book was full on drama.
I can't say much without revealing what is happening to them in this book, but my guess is you know what a guy can to to mess things up.
You assume really quickly what went wrong between them and just want for Kate and Drew, or even - anybody involved - to man the f**k up and TALK. The really tiny twisted situation that lead them to this was just so ridiculous, i didn't understand how could Emma Chase keep on dragging it.
I was still trying to get my mind around everything that was happening when i reached the epilogue, wondering how could so much drama could be easily just forgiven and forgotten.

You know that scene with Chris Evans when at Jimmy Fallon's show and talking about his nephew that couldn't pronounce the "L" correctly and instead came out "W"? Yap, that's me! I DON'T "WIKE" IT !!!!!!
I am a huge fan of Tangled and sincerely Drew was the funniest hero in all my reading history, which is not poor at all. I laughed so much, until tears came out. He was hilarious and sometimes so immature that I wanted to punch him in the face for hurting Kate and jumping to stupid conclusions without asking questions first.
The second installment from the series provides us a glimpse into their relationship, that developed in the course of 2 years. It was literally the hottest prologue I've ever read and believe me, this 2 stars are only for it..no.. I'm lying, there is a scene at the end of the book between Drew and Kate's mom that really soften me and I remember why Drew is such a great guy.
I thought maybe our heroes are mature now and learned their lesson, but as the plot progressed I figured that I was so wrong.. History is repeating and that really made me angry because I was having a deja-vu over the same thing...
Only now this misunderstanding that seemed to be the whole plot of the book was so childish and could have been prevented by talking and sorting things out on the spot!!!! Not acting like a teenager/freaking a**hole or leaving without being sure that everyone is talking about the same damn thing. Drew behavior made me so angry at him and I wanted to be there to throw him out the window. I know that he was hurt but you don't talk like that to a woman that shared your bed for 2 years and most of all, LOVE!!! Kate acted childish as well, and would have been able to prevent it by coming clean with her secret.. but of course things were made this way and twisted for us to roll in pain for the rest of the book...
Aside from the simple and frustrating action that lead to this book, the narrating style was not for me.. Drew's POV was amazing and I enjoyed it throughout the book, but Kate's was dull.. The writer tried to make her funny like Drew, but only intoxicated my with a lot of details about certain characters and events that were not interesting and I ended up skipping a lot of them in order to get to the point already.. Not to mention that at the end of the book, after reading Kate's idea of being independent I couldn't understand it and just gave up...
If you ask me, the whole idea of the could has been easily included into an longer epilogue and everyone was happy.
I am very sorry for this raking and hope that I was not very harsh with this book, but my expectations were higher.

This is the continuing story of Drew and Kate told from Kate's POV. They have been together for two years and for the most part, things have been really good. That is, until a big misunderstanding takes place and things just get ugly.
I really enjoyed Kate's POV although I was surprised at how much she sounded like Drew. I liked that we got to know more of her history and the town where she grew up.
Drew was a bit surprising. I would have thought after two years he would be more trusting. However, he really surprised me at what he offered at the park! Shocking!
These two just can't keep their hands off each other so naturally this book is pretty steamy. One of the first scenes seemed to be a bit random but Drew enjoyed it so I guess that's what counts.
"The misunderstanding" was pretty over the top but then again what do we expect out of Drew? I wasn't too happy with the way he handled things and then later on when we get Drew's POV, we actually get a bit more info that pissed me off!
I did like getting more of Billy and Deedee. It was great knowing these two more and what all happened between the three of them. And I enjoyed the little peek of the next book, Tamed, which is about Matthew and Dee. Who knew Matthew could be so sexy?
The park scene was a killer and I loved every minute. But I especially enjoyed the Epilogue...since that was told from Drew's POV and a very special occurrence happens.
Now we can only hope that Tamed will be as good but...if you read the excerpt, you know what's in store. ;)
Recommendation:
I would definitely recommend this if you want to find out what happens with Drew and Kate and especially if you want to read more about the other characters.

Twisted is book two in the Tangled series by Emma Chase. This book is told entirely from Kate’s point of view, except for the epilogue. I loved getting inside of Kate’s head. She is one tough woman. She has to be, right?! She lives with the infamous Drew Evans, has for two years now.
Their relationship is going strong. They live the life most couples only dream of. They take off for exotic weekends whenever they want. They work hard, play hard and love each other completely. But when you think life couldn’t be more perfect it has a way if derailing. And that’s how Kate ends up back in Greenville staying with her mother above the diner where she grew up.
Even though this book is in Kate’s POV, we still get to see plenty of Drew and even with ALL his flaws, we still can’t help but love him. In my opinion, this book is about rediscovering yourself. And through that being a better and stronger person. There are still plenty of funny and quirky moments in this book but I loved that it had a more serious side to it as well. That Drew and Kate each are forced to face some demons.
Emma Chase has done it again with this book. I read it in about 24 hours, I could NOT put it down. Drew is lovable and frustrating. You want to smack him and hug him all at the same time. If you haven’t started this series yet, you should do so right away! You won’t regret it!

For the love of god, For well educated people who communicate a lot, they could have avoided this HUGE misunderstanding!! And for their friends and family, who are considered close, never really tried to clear this mess out and let the drama go on and on!! To be honest I skimmed most of the pages until the part where Drew shows up. The only time I LMAO'd were the scenes involving drew and conversation directed to him! It’s what made this book worth reading.
Drew Evans doesn't burn bridges, he sets dynamite to them.
Drew pulls the front of his pants away from his waist and looks down. "Nope-still got a dick. Which explains a lot, because your reasoning would only make sense to a woman."
When I got to know this story was said from Kate’s POV I was little disappointed but then I thought, this author can write great humor right? Wrong!! If Kate's POV was a rather upsetting part add to it Kate with hormones POV, it’s a recipe for disaster (Sorry Kate. I still love you though). So as a reward for enduring Kate’s bitchiness the author was kind enough to treat us with an epilogue from Drew’s POV! THANK. YOU. EMMA CHASE! (additional star just for that!)
I've learned my lesson. For good this time. Seriously. If I come home and Kate is screwing some random guy in our bed? I won't freak out - I won't say a word.
I'll just pick her up, toss her over my shoulder, and carry her to the nearest DNA lab to make sure it's actually Kate, and not some evil long-lost twin hell-bent on wrecking our lives.
And this one is my favorite

Kate Brooks is FABULOUS!
Together they are epic. They jumped into the romance world with the amazingly witty and well written Tangled. It comes as no surprise that they would not simply ride off into the sunset. I can say they seem to have both developed emotions, finally, lol. They really do care and are unafraid to show their love. It would seem as if they are learning to trust, but maybe that is only in the bedroom. Is that hot throw down passion still there...hell yes! and better than ever!
But Twisted is just that, completely a mess...a mess of communication, a mess of emotion and a completely mess of personalities making Drew and Kate even more epic!
With two characters both passionate and unwaivering in their mindsets...well, they just cant seem to come to grips with complete trust or better yet open communication. When life throws a kink in their regular "kink" a complete lack of discussion causes the most "twisted" set of circumstances that send both over the edge. Drew reverts to a jerk of epic proportions, and Kate runs straight out of Drew's arms and out of the state of NY!
Kate and Drew are not apart too long...no matter what, they are in love and in pain without one another. If they could only get on the same page, things would be so easy!
Twisted is a great extension from Tangled with the characters progressing, the relationship shifting, and the overall feel of the story getting a more heartfelt tone. As Kate stated that sometimes you have to go back to go forward, she and Drew definitely found their new beginning. In the end, Drew and Kate will always be the two crazy lovers that are unlike any other romance book's characters!

This book just about broke my heart. It’s not all sunshine and roses for Drew and Kate, and that’s all I can say without spoilers. It was tough reading for a while and I had to wipe away some tears as I whispered “n�� There’s one HUGE misunderstanding that places the whole relationship in jeopardy; hurtful things were said and hurtful actions (on Drew’s part) had me wondering “can this relationship ever be the same?� Oh, did my heart ache for them. But there’s a reason for all the angst--Kate and Drew find out a lot about themselves--Kate especially finds an inner strength that she didn’t know that she had. And Mr.-Jump-To-Conclusions Drew discovers just how lost he is without his Kate. There’s a lot these two have to work through to get to a better place in the relationship--there’s a lot of trust issues that have to be worked out, but you know these two belong together. It’s just how they were going to get there that worried me.

Once again, wonderful writing and character development, wonderful storytelling. We learn a lot more about Kate and her past ( it is told in her POV--which isn‘t quite as funny as Drew‘s POV but given the story line, how could it be?) Kate discovers that she’s not all alone in the world like she feared--she’s got great friends and family who have her back, and when she thinks she’s lost her best friend and love of her life, they come through for her in a big way. And all the angst and hand wringing (by the reader) is worth it by the last third of the book--(happy)tears will be shed!
I love Ms. Chase’s writing style and I adore this series. I don’t think I’ll ever get enough of Drew and Kate--I want to read updates about them every year. Much like Braden and Joss from Samantha Young's “On Dublin Street� series, this is one couple I can’t get enough of--even when they’re having problems. 5 stars

I don’t care for romances rife with miscommunication and unnecessary drama, and I can’t think of the last book that had MORE than Twisted did. The whole gut-wrenching experience was so completely unnecessary I wanted to throw my kindle out the window. I’m not into putting a couple who had previously had a pretty happy ending through complete and utter bullshit just to continue their story.
I loved Tangled! Drew’s POV was hilarious and so I was excited to pick up Twisted and finish off their story with the HEA I always crave in my romances. Did I get this? Maybe somewhat…by the end, but I’m not sure it was worth reading this story. Kate’s narration wasn’t nearly as much fun, and I would’ve been better off reading the last 25% and skipping all the in between. I certainly would’ve saved myself a lot of frustration.
I enjoyed the last 25% and Drew stepping in and taking over the narrative. That’s the only reason I’m rating this 2 stars instead of 1 star.

If Tangled was akin to Pretty Woman, then Twisted is like The Runaway Bride. The difference between the two books is that the first one treated its audience like adults while Twisted sacrilegiously believed that its audience was composed of morons. It was a painful read, such as it's making me seriously reconsider the fact that the genre might provide me with some chuckles here and there. The author treated both its male and female characters as emotionally impaired. I'm still bewildered why she did so.

Oh Emma Chase, how do I love you, but this book...you drove me crazy!! I was literally yelling in my car listening to this audiobook.
I love Drew and I love Kate, but this misunderstandings/miscommunication was too much for my little heart. I still love this series, but this was definitely not my favorite.
