Danny and Liv are back...

Danny loves Liv. He knows he loves her more than she loves him because she ran without a word when she saw their future mapped out before her. He knows he will never love anyone like he loved her and this time he doesn’t think he can move on.

Liv loves Danny. She knows she loves him more than he loves her because he broke her heart in the worst possible way, right when things were falling into place. She knows she will never love anyone like she loves him and this time she doesn’t think she can move on.

They needed a second chance because they just weren’t ready for their first, but when events changed everything between them, they discovered they were just human after all. Now Liv and Danny have to find a way to survive being hurt by each other.

They doubted, they underestimated and they did believe the worst, but only because they were too young the first time and too vulnerable the second time. But now they have changed and if they are not the same, surely things can only turn out differently?

“…we stumbled and fell, but something so strong cannot be wiped out in one moment.

After finishingÌý, I literally only gave myself the time to take a deep breath and wipe away a few tears before I dove right into this very emotional but deeply satisfying sequel. It is the perfect conclusion to one of the most beautiful modern fairy-tales I have ever read and I am struggling to let go of it.

In the aftermath of the incredibly heartbreaking ending of its prequel, we find Liv and Danny desperately trying to make sense of what happened to their relationship, attempting to move on with life, their pain and anger feeding their inner demons as they both navigate through intense heartache and self-doubt for the second time in their lives.
“She doesn’t love me. She found out I was going to propose and she ran. Again.

On opposite sides of the world, they lick their wounds with the relentless support and love of their best friends, but they are lost without one another. Both convinced of the other’s fault in their relationship’s demise, Liv and Danny throw themselves into their old lives, believing that ignoring the gaping hole in their hearts would somehow make it hurt less. But no matter how hard they try to forget one another, nothing makes their pain go away and as time goes by, it even finds ways of following them into their dreams.

Luckily, when two people are meant to be together, they eventually find a way back to each other and once Danny finds out the real reason why Liv left so suddenly, he becomes determined to win her back and never let go of her again. What follows is romance in its purest and most gratifying form touching acts of love by a man who is willing to do anything for the woman he loves, hoping his actions would show her what she won’t allow him to say.
“Please let me back in. We have wasted too much of our lives apart.

As much as I felt Danny’s desperation and unyielding hope in their future together, I lived Liv’s pain and I wholeheartedly understood her doubts and her misguided need for some fantasy grand gesture. There is no instant forgiveness scenario to appease us, no quick fix for a decade-long history of self-doubt and believing in one’s worse fears. Their biggest obstacle has always been their willingness to believe themselves unworthy of the other’s unrelenting love, to trust their insecurities rather than their own hearts, and that is something that time exacerbated, and only time can truly take away. Their personal journey is just as important as their shared one, the recognition of their deep seeded fears being essential to their future as a couple.
“It wasn’t our fault that we found each other so young…

In both books, Liv and Danny are finding their way to one another, but in this book they are finally setting firm roots that no storm could shake in the future. And my heart sang page after page. This story touched every corner of my heart, made me live every scene, feel every emotion, because there was something truly real about it. The characters made sense, they were real people, with real hang-ups and real feelings. Nothing was romanticised, made pretty or forced I got the characters, I got what drove them, what stalled them, what pushed their buttons, and what made them deliriously happy. They were real to me, and their story fed not only the romance glutton in me, but also that little girl who used to daydream in her bed at night that one day her Prince Charming would come looking for her.

Everything about this story was executed to perfection. The relationship between Liv and Danny might have been the focal point of the storyline, but their friendship bonds with their respective best friends were given equal importance, making this not only a timeless romance, but also a heart-warming tale of friendship and unconditional love. My heart is still trying to absorb the overwhelming happiness that I felt while reading this splendid book. In my mind, I am twirling on the hilltops Sound-of-Music-style, singing from the top of my lungs about this story being one of my favourite things. This is an absolute must-read.
“I tried being without you, life is nothing without you.

Wow!!! I don’t know what to say, but Kerry Heavens has done it again, I loved Just Human, but I have to say Still Human just blew me away Kerry has knocked it out the park with this one, and as I write this review nearly 24 hours later I’m still smiling, still thinking about this book, and The Drifters song’s ‘Some kind of wonderful is still stuck in my head much to the annoyance of my work colleague this morning who at one, point shouted ‘enough already stop singing that bloody song.

I don’t want to give away any spoilers so seriously all I’m going to say is you must 1 click this book, and read the continuation of Danny and Liv’s story after Just Human it doesn’t disappoint. I read most of it with the biggest smile on my face and even did I happy dance at one point.

“We should be together, we should have always been together. I never should have left you twelve years ago ~ Danny

I was such a fan of Liv and Danny in the last book, and Liv is just amazing in this one. I didn’t think it was possible, but Kerry has made me l love Danny even more. The things this man does to win Liv back, to prove she can trust him, and his love for her are just swoon worthy. Danny Morgan will always have a special place in my heart.

“Why do you think I’ve never settled down? Losing you before was the worst experience of my life, and now I’m living it all over again. Except this time I’m not quitting. I love you too much ~ Danny

Still Human had everything that I love in a book and more, second chance love (or possibly third in this case), true love, epic love, romance, passion, super hot steamy sexy moments, happy tear jerking moments, swoon worthy moments, laugh out loud moments, and oh yes! Let's not forget the dirty dancing references you know I loved them Kerry.

I have to say I was slightly jealous, okay I perhaps more than slightly jealous of the adoration between Danny and Liv. I loved how Danny and Liv grow as a couple but also as individuals in this book. How they work to try and overcome, their fears, their insecurities, their stubbornness and focus on new beginnings, always being honest and open with each other.

“I thought I would show you that we are just the same. All our crazy insecurities are bullshit, you know? We are supposed to be together and the only thing that has kept us from doing that is fear ~ Danny

I don’t want to forget the supporting characters that like before I just loved them all they really added to the story, and showed how important friends and family are in Liv and Danny's journey.

“Now I’ve let you do this your way for a week, but if neither one of you is going to give in and call the other, then I’m afraid I’ll have to get dirty ~ Jen

Overall I loved this book it was a brilliant conclusion to Liv and Danny story, I have truly enjoyed their journey, and I’m going to miss them, however at the same time I’m so glad that they get the happy ever after that they so rightly deserves. I couldn’t have been happier with the ending it has a wonderful epilogue that just left me grinning from ear to ear. These two are just perfect together, soul mates.

“Circumstances pull us apart before we found our voices and although we both tried to make life apart, something was always missing. We needed a second chance because we just weren’t ready for the first one ~ Liv

As you can probably guess, I'm going to recommend you read this book, and you will understand why I’m going to have the biggest book hangover for the next few days. It’s a must read, but only after you have read Just Human, so don’t wait off you go, and 1- click now. I can say without a doubt you will not be disappointed.

“You told me once that you were afraid I would turn out to be just human and that I would hurt you. I told you then that I am just human and that I could be hurt just as easily. Well I’m still human I’m still me and I know we could destroy each other. But I don’t care, because life without you isn’t worth living, …I dare you .Let me back in and you won’t regret it. ~ Danny

I’m so looking forward to reading your next book Kerry; I loved your writing style, your characters, you know how to write a great love story, and can’t wait to see what you have next in store for us.

Still Human is the follow up book to Just Human by Kerry Heavens. In Just Human, we meet Liv & Danny, childhood sweethearts who have not seen each other in 12 years and reunite years later never falling out of love with one another. Their main problem was not distance, it was communication! Danny agreed to give up his life in California to move back to the U.K. and start a life with Liv. The book ended with Liv thinking something happened between Danny and his ex “hook-up and returning to the U.K. Leaving both Danny and Liv heartbroken.

Still Human picks up right there. Liv has been back in the U.K. after visiting Danny and thinking she saw him cheat on her. Danny is still at home in California thinking Liv only left because she was scared to be in a committed relationship. Again communication is still their biggest problem! I swear if there was ever two characters who needed to talk, it would be these two!

Danny refuses to go to Liv because he is hurt; Liv thinks Danny gave up on her by not trying to win her back it’s a constant back and forth between these two. Danny does what Danny always does and is amazingly sweet and romantic. I was starting to think Liv does not deserve him; he seemed to always be making the effort when she wouldn’t even talk to him.

I will be honest; I did not really connect with the book until midway through the book. The book felt repetitive at times with Liv & Danny going from being in love and happy to a simple misunderstanding and they are breaking up again. I just wanted them to get their act together and TALK! Just like book one I did not feel like these two were communicating at all and it was driving me crazy. About 50% in the book changed and I fell in love with the story again. Danny and Liv’s journey seemed like it was finally starting and I couldn’t put the book down!

I loved the dual point-of-views again in both books. Danny is such a sweet guy, I want one! Where can I order a Danny? It was a cute book about first loves having second chances and never falling out of love. I loved all the characters, especially the minor ones who brought a little something extra to the book. it was a very enjoyable weekend read.

I give Still Human (Just Human #2) 3.5 Stars

***SPOILERS*** Look, I would have given this book 4 stars at the least had the author not created such a twisted situation. I was never really comfortable with Jen and Danny's relationship. She wrote them to be too intimate as friends in my opinion with all the alone time together, all the hugs and snuggling, the kissing on the lips, the fact that Danny admits that had Jen asked him to stay in the US then he would have because he didn't want to leave her, and the it's topped off with Danny helping Jen conceive a baby!! WTF!!!! I swear this was the most twisted story ever. I can totally see Jen being preggo and rubbing her belly and thinking of Danny, not Scott! It's sick and I would have been so much happier had Kerry Heavens made Jen go through an anonymous donor or had there been some kind of tit for tat arrangement with Max & Charlie. This book was good except this whole Jen situation just pissed me off and made me angry for having wasted my time reading a book that had me screaming "What the hell is wrong with these people!? Jen and Danny are weirdly obsessed with each other." I felt horrible for Scott, esp during their breakfasts because once again Danny and Jen worked the kitchen together making breakfast with a perfect rhythm and flow; like they were a couple. Freaking bollocks I tell you. BOLLOCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3.5 stars

Ok well, Liv worked my nerves for much of the book and then Danny turned into a sniveling little bitch. No, seriously he started sounding like a total chick. I had to go back a few times to make sure I was really reading his POV.

And then he did the sweetest thing for Liv's birthday (I think this was around 75%) that I started to melt which was frustrating because I was all prepared at that point to hate them. So Danny goes back to be swoon worthy and I end up being a pathetic girl and falling for all the sweetness. I feel like I just lost all my dark & twisted street cred!!

So 3.5 stars just because I loved the last 25% of the book. DAMN YOU DANNY!!!

This book is like a very expensive, fine bottle of wine. It is something you don’t want to gulp, guzzle and finish in one sitting. No, it’s something you want to savor and completely take in and that is exactly what I did. I read the first 40% within one sitting but once it reached a certain point I knew immediately that this couple would hands-down become one of my favorite love stories ever and didn’t want it to end. I loved the first book, but in no way did it prepare me for the breath-taking conclusion.

“I tried being without you, life is nothing without you.

If you have not read the first book, stop reading this review and go one-click Being Human stat! Ok, where were we? Oh yeah , this book literally picks up where the first one left off, Liv and Danny separated after what has become the BIGGEST misconception. Liv is back in the UK and Danny is in California both wallowing. She left him for what she thinks she saw, and he thinks she left him because she didn’t want to be with him. Their whole relationship was built on second guessing, over-analyzing, and last but certainly not least, insecurity. It isn’t until Max, Jen, and Connie kick them both into high gear do they realize that they can’t live without each other. But, can they both let go of the past and finally be able to move into the future?

“We needed a second chance because we just weren’t ready for the first one.

Like I said earlier, Liv and Danny have officially become one of my favorite couples of all time. I think a large reason for this has to do with Danny. Liv is so independent and when she literally needs his help after she is injured he is there to help and nurse her back to good health. He makes it impossible for her and me not to finally realize that this is a once in a lifetime kind of love. Then when he finally has her back…oh my goodness, I don’t even want to spoil the good stuff and hear me when I say there is some serious GOOD stuff! Ms. Heavens did a phenomenal job with giving the reader a front row seat to their relationship. The small details (trees, tattoos, shoes, to Dirty Dancing) from their budding relationship back when they were kids up until the very end was fantastic. It is 100% evident from this book that soul mates exist and that Danny and Liv are the epitome of that word.

5 smashing stars!

3rd read, but still as fresh and sweet as the first time I read it.

I had been an emotional wreck waiting for this book to come out.

The beauty of the love between Liv and Danny had totally suckered me in when I read Just Human and I was as devastated as they were when their rediscovered love was as screwed up as the jeweller's bag in Danny's bin.

No idea how Kerry was going to do it but surely they had to get over the hurt.

There was me shouting, pick up the phone, read the email, talk to each other, tell him you still love him Liv, throw him a bone.

Some reviews I read say Liv held out for too long but not for me. Poor girl was in pain, tortured and so confused. Kerry got it just right.

Beautifully written again. Some curved balls - the Jen thing had me seriously panicked. Perfect, gut wrenching love. I need to get my PJ to take a romantic leaf out of Danny's book. I cried from 64% done to the end.

Words not spoilers, Converse, Willow tree, Vegas, The Drifters.

My fav bits are all of it but here are my clips.

"You told me once that you were afraid I would turn out to be just human and that I would hurt you. I told you then that I am just human and that I could be hurt just as easily. Well I'm still human...I'm still me and I know we could still destroy each other. But I don't care, because a life without you isn't worth living...I dare you." He whispers, with a cheeky tone. "Let me back in, you won't regret it."

You are always rooted here with me

I am always rooted here with you

"Hi!" he says sarcastically, offering his hand for me to shake. "Internet guy! Nice to meet you."

"You are the most vibrant person I've ever known. I've loved you since I was six years old and I know I'm never going to stop"

"Like this tree, we stumbled and fell, but something so strong cannot be wiped out in one moment. I'm always rooted here with you and together we are too strong to fade away. I promise we will continue to grow together even if there are more storms to come."

We needed a second chance because we just weren't ready for the first one.

Swoon, swoon, swoon.

Read this book now! And when you read it tell me if you agree that THE tree should have been on the cover. With a hot guy of course. She says sticking her tongue out at Kerry for not using my suggestion.

After the major cliffy in Just Human, I couldn’t wait to devour the continuation of Danny and Liv’s story in Still Human! And what a gorgeously written sequel it is. I absolutely love Liv and Danny. And they have the best friends ever. They are so insecure and there are so many misunderstandings between them, that I was a wreck hoping they would both find a way to be together. Soul mates, right? Without any spoilers, I want to say that Danny is my next husband (LOVE him!) and Liv could be a great best friend. Still Human is loving and hot and sexy and romantic and has plenty of drama, too. And the covers of Being Human and Still Human are among my favorite book covers, ever. Kerry Heavens has a gift for storytelling and effortlessly switches between Danny and Liv’s POV. I highly recommend getting to know Danny and Liv! You will totally fall in love with both of them.

I had a few issues with this book. The first of which is there are a lot of errors in it that could have used a good editor. I think my biggest issue with this book is that I really disliked Liv for the first half of the book. She was selfish, ridiculous and hurtful to someone who was the love of her life, even after she found out that the whole thing was a huge misunderstanding. Instead of torturing the poor guy for half a book, she should have been apologizing profusely to him for being so rotten. I really do think that while this book was written to make women swoon over Danny, it was a lot of beautiful fluff that could have been condensed into the first book and made that one a really good standalone.

I don’t even know how many times I have read this book. I adore Liv and Danny. Where has my original review gone?

Reading Still Human feels like meeting up with best friends, something I haven’t done for months and months and months. Damn you Covid.

I’ve sat with the biggest grin on my face, with tears running down my face and joy in my heart. The romance is off the charts. Danny Morgan IS my one and only book husband forever.

I’m so thankful for that day when I got a Twitter message from Kerry Heavens asking if I wanted a copy of the book because she knew how desperate for it I was. Nearly 7 years later, I’m still in love with Danny and still adore Kerry.

3.5 " Just not my style" stars. This was a really great story just not suspenseful enough for me. A little too sweet and just plain ordinary at times. I can see how many would love it but it's just not for me. The hottness between Danny and Liv was the only thing that kept me reading. I absolutely love passionate sex scenes when love and emotions are involved and there was plenty of that! Nice story but not my style.

Ok. Here we go. This story didn't start till half way through the book. Then it was just rushed. Everything happened so fast. Liv got more likable but Danny seemed to turn into a big mushy woman. I love nice guys and he really was. It just wasn't believable. He was a bit over the top. The first book was way better. I had a hard time finishing this one. Liv and Danny were so overly sweet it was making my teeth hurt. I love books about second chance loves. This one just fell short for me.

I love it! I love it! I love it!

This book was soo good!! It was soo beautiful how the characters grew and how the plot became full circle.

With the aftermath of the book 1 ending, this book started with their coping mechanisms. Because of their insecurities and their past they couldn't simply deal with their circumstance. Thanks to their friends who never gave up on them and gave them the strength to never lose hope.

How Liv overcame her trust issues and how she relinquished her control freak nature to just be with Danny. And how Danny proved how serious and steadfast his love is. That he will never give up on Liv was just amazing. How they grew up. How they realized why the first two of their lives didn't work. How their friends played an important role in their strength and trust in each other.

This was a great and wonderful read. You'll laugh and cry. And just be in love. The plot was well written and everything had a reason. It all came full circle.

Even though I wanted to love this book I couldn't embrace it entirely.
For the first half of the book I was really annoyed with Liv. But I love the way Danny handles everything and how he keeps fighting for her. I also love the strong friendships in this book.
But in the second half of the book I lost some interest. I love happy endings and all of that, but this was too much of it for my liking. I don't need a long description, just a brief epilogue would have been enough.

Please make a space on your “Favorite Book Boyfriends list for Danny Morgan—your laminated list. You know, the one you carry around in your wallet in case you need to educate others about what they’re missing? Danny will need a permanent home there once you’ve read Still Human by Kerry Heavens. If you haven’t read Just Human yet, Still Human’s precursor, go get it. It’s safe now—you can handle the cliffy when the next one is One-Click away, right? Buck up, click, and get ready for Danny.

When we left Danny and Liv, the two main characters of the Human series, they were in a rather precarious position. In fact, it looked like things might be over for good. I heard you all whining about the cliffy, so I hope you took my prior advice, sucked it up and have been planning your Danny, Part Deux release party—Still Human is soooo worth the wait (and so worthy of a party!). This book starts virtually right where we left off: Danny is devastated and Liv is devastated. The problem is that Danny doesn’t really know why Liv left (and his best guess is way off the mark!), and Liv is double-devastated because she saw something that broke her heart AND Danny hasn’t called or tried to contact her to explain himself or apologize! What the hell! I’d be mad too, but when no one screams and yells or sends an angry email about why the other person is a complete douchebag, then nobody really understands what the hell is going on!! And this is where we find ourselves in Still Human; you, dear reader, will be looking at your Kindle saying, “WTF! Will somebody blink already?! Then you’ll thank your lucky stars for the best friends of your favorite book characters because they really get things done in the end. In this case, it’s Jen and Max to the rescue.

In Just Human, Jen (Danny’s best friend) and Max (Liv’s best friend) are introduced as the people behind the people—the people who make things happen. These two push and cajole and threaten until Danny and Liv have no choice but to do what they say or risk killing them, and it’s always for their own good. Jen and Max know Danny and Liv better than they know themselves and often understand the bond between our two lovers better than Danny and Liv are willing to admit. And thank the book gods that they do, or we all might still be waiting for Danny to make a call or Liv to answer an email! It’s Jen that gets the pages turning in Still Human and Max, on the other side of the ocean, who works like a romantic Navy Seal to make things happen. And off we go!

There are a lot of things that I love about this book, but let me start with the pacing. We left Just Human at the bottom of a cliffy. We were scared and heartbroken and a little overwrought, but we’ve had a few months to pick ourselves up, to be rational, and to figure out that the story can’t possibly end there. So, when we come into Still Human, understandably, all we want is for someone to get this ball rolling! I want Danny talking, I want Liv listening, and then I want my HEA, damnit! Nothing’s ever that easy, of course; and if it was, we wouldn’t want to read it. Still Human takes a pace that, to me, felt perfectly natural and organic. This is the way things have to go. If the person—THE person—that you love most breaks your heart once, it’s bad, but you might go back again, give them another chance, right? But if the person you love most breaks your heart TWICE, how do you go about letting them back for a third time? Is it possible? Can Liv (and Danny) move beyond that fear and trust what they feel to be reciprocated? That’s the question here. I mentioned in my review of Just Human that Liv is my homegirl. She still is, and so there were times reading this, when I wanted to pull Liv aside and beg her to just give in already, answer the phone, yell, scream, spit, scratch—whatever. There were also times when I wanted her to Pollyanna through this and run right back to Danny; but I might know a thing or two about giving a third chance and just how scary that can be. Ms. Heavens plays this just perfectly. We all know how we want this to end, but you can’t run right there—it’s not believable and it’s no fun. Trust me when I say that you want to wait. Danny is so worth the wait.

Oh Danny. I’m not sure if I can even tell you how many times Danny made me cry in this book—in good ways! I love Danny. I mean, I love him. He just makes me happy. And he makes Liv happy and he’s going to make you sooooooo happy! If I could tell you all the ways that I love Danny without completely spoiling this book, I would; but I can’t. You’re going to have to read it and tweet me, so we can go back and forth about all the ways we love Danny and annoy the Twitterverse.

I know there’s been a whole lot of Danny, Danny, Danny in this review, and normally I would try to balance that out with more Liv, but the thing is that Danny goes so above and beyond the realm of Perfection that I find it difficult to talk about anything else. So, here’s this: Liv rocks even more than she did in Just Human. This girl goes where few women would dare to venture, and she does it with so much heart—it makes me teary just thinking about it. My girl Liv may get her heart ripped out at the end of JH, but karma smiles on her in the best ways in SH. Seriously. All good things are coming to Liv!!

Now, in case you’re wondering about the smut level—let’s talk. You know Kerry Heavens gives good smut; she proved that in Just Human. There is such an abundance of schmexy times coming to you in Still Human—it’s like Smut Christmas! Granted, you have to wait a little while, but once it starts, just turn the page for more smutty little gifts!

If you haven’t caught on yet, I am whole-heartedly throwing my panties at Danny and this book. Buy. This. Book. Like now! If you were waiting for this book to come out before you read Just Human because you can’t handle the cliffy, then for the love of all that is smutty, start clicking. The sooner you take that leap off the cliff with the rest of us, the sooner you’ll get to weep happy tears and laminate your Danny card. And if you reach the end of this book and think, “Damn. I want Danny to get me pregnant! just get in line behind me. There’s no cutting; and if there’s a chance, I was here first.

This is the conclusion to the Just Human 2 book series. You really do need to read Just Human before reading Still Human.

This was a much better book than I expected. As I stated in my review for Just Human, I loved all of the characters, but I felt the author took a road mostly travelled in her choices for throwing angst and obstacles at Danny and Liv. What I found so frustrating is that these two almost squander a second chance. They are made for each other and I never understood why neither of them was willing to lay all of the past on the table, hash it all out, let each other know what really happened when Danny originally moved with his parents when they were 18. I mean...really? It was sooooo frustrating seeing that happen in book one, and then adding the serious misunderstanding at the end, is an overused tool in books. I was soooo hoping the author would make it be something else, or have Liv handle herself differently than the norm. But, it didn't happen.

[Spoilers below if you have not read book 1]

This book picks up a week after we left off in the Just Human. We immediately learn that Danny has no idea why Liv left, he thinks it has something to do with Liv finding out he was going to propose and he is pissed?! Really? I was not at all happy to hear this. Then we find that Liv is still stuck believing Danny is a cheating bastard! AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!! REALLY?!?! So, here I am thinking this could take us waaaaay too long for these two yahoos to try and figure out what really happened and not throw away the love of their life.

I was pleasantly surprised to find out I did not have to wait very long. Thank GOD there were other people involved in this story who were given level heads and not immediately backing the friend, the friends believed there had to be a misunderstanding between the main couple. I won't ruin how things work out from there, but these friends get our H/h talking much more quickly than if it were left to Danny and Liv to sort on their own.

Where this all leads is a great ending to the story. I honestly loved it. I just really wish the author would have been a bit more creative in what broke apart our characters in the first place. Danny's reasoning for not calling Liv was silly, honestly. Other than a couple of hiccups in the story, I very much enjoyed this series. I still think the characters could have been described a bit better, I still do not know what color hair Liv has, unless I missed it. There was quite a bit of descriptive language used for our surroundings at times, or tattoos, but the characters were lacking that detail. I did love their personalities, though. Great time reading!

Additional thoughts. I do think I would have enjoyed this more if it were one book and cut out the majority of the Brooke issue. I also feel that the little side bar scenario w Jen was sweet, it wasn't necessary and could have been cut. We already got the memo about how close Danny and Live were with Jen and Max, it didnt need to be pushed as far as it was, IMO which would have trimmed back the book as well.

I was provided an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Words cannot describe how I felt as Still Human hit my kindle. I am not sure words can even describe how I feel about this series, let alone this conclusion to Danny and Liv’s story. Just when I thought I couldn’t love this couple, the author proved me wrong. This has to be one of my favorite series of all time. Every single word of this story was written with such perfection in order to make it the most beautiful love story ever. Yes. Ever. I get nothing but all the FEELS and goosebumps from this story.

“I tried being without you, life is nothing without you.

From the moment I met Danny in Just Human I was instantly in love. He has ruined me for all future book boyfriends. Danny is sweet, passionate, loving, and sexy. If you’ve read Just Human, you know that Danny and Liv are apart due to a huge misunderstanding. Both Danny and Liv are heartbroken and not sure how to move on and heal. When the truth comes to light, it rocks Danny and Liv to their core. How do two people that love each other so much continue to allow life to intervene? How do they move on from this? Love heals all things with time.

Be still my beating heart Danny Morgan. You are the most romantic, swoon worthy book boyfriend I have ever read in my life. Danny is every fairytale wrapped up in one. His unyielding love for Liv and his acts of love are what makes this story beautiful. Still Human is the definition of why love never fails. Love always prevails. Always.

“You told me once that you were afraid I would turn out to be just human and that I would hurt you. I told you then that I am just human and that I could be hurt just as easily. Well I’m still human I’m still me and I know we could destroy each other. But I don’t care, because life without you isn’t worth living, …I dare you .Let me back in and you won’t regret it."

If you are a believer in TRUE love, you HAVE to read this book. I am talking deep-rooted love. This goes beyond first loves. They are deeper than soulmates. They are connected in every way possible. Still Human will capture your heart from the first page. Danny and Liv have the most beautiful love story I have ever had the pleasure of reading. The writing is flawless in it’s execution of true modern day romance. Be sure to clear your schedule when you pick up Still Human as real life will be non-existent that day. I am forever a fan of Kerry Heavens. Thank you for giving us Danny.

Still Human by Kerry Heavens

4.5 stars!!

“You told me once that you were afraid I would turn out to be just human and that I would hurt you. I told you then that I am just human and that I could be hurt just as easily. Well I’m still human…I’m still me and I know we could still destroy each other. But I don’t care, because a life without you isn’t worth living…I dare you.

God, Kerry Heavens knows how to put you through the wringer! If any two characters, in any books deserve their heads banging together, it is these two!! Danny and Liv are the most frustrating couple I have ever come across yet you cannot help but love them. They are destined to be together, yet their own fears and insecurities continue to keep them apart. This book carries on from Just Human. Danny and Liv were once again apart and Danny was in the US and Liv was back in the UK.

Both of them are as stubborn as each other, neither wanting to make the first move, both wallowing in their own self pity, what will it take for either of them to realise that they have made a mistake? Danny believes Liv has just upped and left him and Liv believes that Danny has cheated on her and neither one of them are willing to hear the other one out. So once again, it comes down to meddling friends to make them see sense, but it is far from easy!!

Most of the quotes that I have highlighted while reading this book will give away too much of the story, so this is going to be a quote friendly review, but I will add that there are some serious heart stopping, swoon worthy moments in this book. If you thought Danny was perfect before, you are going to love Danny even more in this book. As they say, actions speak louder than words and Danny is just totally and utterly brilliant in this book. Apart from the obvious stubbornness etc once he gets his head out of the sand and begins his mission of winning Liv back, he goes all out, hopefully to get all in!

This is a brilliant conclusion to Danny and Liv’s story and I was totally engrossed. I have loved this couple so much. I love a second chance romance, or even thirds as this one seems to be, but as they say third time lucky! Kerry, you have done an amazing job bringing these characters to life and I must say, a part from the obvious person we are going to hate, every single character in this series brings something to the story and is totally and utterly loveable. They truly are one big happy family.

Love this series and for a debut author, once again a brilliant job. For a fun, frustrating, romantic read, this is just the series for you.

"Still Human" is the second book in the "Just Human Series." Book #1 will need to be read first in order to fully understand and follow the story.

After the epic cliffhanger in "Just Human," I was desperate to find out what was going to happen between Liv and Danny and so I didn't waste anytime in diving right in to this concluding book. The beginning of the story started out quite sad with Danny and Liv literally oceans apart, both completely devastated and heart broken and Danny at an utter loss as to why Liv had left him. He needed to find out the truth but Liv was being ridiculously stubborn, refusing to listen to anyone's advice and continuing to shut Danny out. She was her own worst enemy. I wanted to give her a good shake!! Poor Danny.. my heart broke for him.
"I love you, Liv. I will do anything to make you see that."

So what would happen now? Would Danny give up and go back to the US? Hell no!! He was going to fight for his girl and fight for what they had and that just made me fall for him even more!!!
"You told me once that you were afraid I would turn out to be just human and that I would hurt you. I told you then that I am just human and that I could be hurt just as easily. Well I'm still human...I'm still me and I know we could still destroy each other. But I don't care, because a life without you isn't worth living...I dare you. Let me back in, you won't regret it."

I loved everything about this story. This concluding part to the series saw Danny and Liv facing many up and the downs as they attempted to fix their broken hearts and their relationship. Once again, I thought the secondary characters were fab. Danny and Liv's close group of friends who were all instrumental in helping to repair their relationship and I just loved how they all supported the couple. They were friends of the best kind.
"Liv, open your eyes, everyone is rallying round you, including him. What are you doing for him? He's far from home, missing his friends and family, all for you, and you are like this great big, fucking brick wall."

"Still Human" was a brilliant conclusion to Liv and Danny's story. The ending was perfect proving that the couple were soul mates that truly belonged to each other. Kerry Heavens has written a beautiful series that I would happily recommend to any of my friends.
"Still Human" gets 4.5 beautiful hearts from me.

Oh Liv and Danny- what are we going to do with the two of you? One moment I want to smack you upside the head and shake some common sense into you and the next I want to introduce you to my husband to give him some tips on romance. Needless to say, I love you both and you have given me one hell of a ride.

Still Human starts off where Your Human left off (If you have not read Your Human- go and get it now! Do not read on because you will get some spoilers from book one in the rest of the review).
So basicly Liv thinks that Danny has cheated on her with slutty Brooke and Danny thinks that Liv is running because she found out that he bought her a ring and was about to propose. Both of them are miserable and driving their friends miserable in the process.

Fast forward a few weeks and Jen and Scott are looking to start a family- only problem, they need a "donor" to start the process. Danny of course volunteers his services. Little does he know, Jen is not going to accept his "boys" until he finally picks up the phone and calls Liv and finds out WHY she left. Danny does the next best thing and calls Max (her GBFF) and he tell Danny that Liv saw Brooke and that is the reason she left. While Danny is on the phone with Max, Liv falls off of a ladder and breaks her ankle and in need of surgery. Of course Danny is on the next plane to London and there to prove that he needs her in his life and that she can trust him.

I love that I was able to see both sides of the story in this book. You can see how much they both love each other and how important their close group of friends is to them.
If I had to complain about one thing, it would be that I thought the book dragged a little in the beginning. Liv just kept pulling Danny around playing this- I need you to love me more then I love you game. Really??? The man moved 5000 miles to be with you, pretty much blows off his job to run her restaurant while she is out of commission, and has proven time and time again that he loves you!
I adore Danny! He is like the perfect man. He wants the best for her and makes sure that she gets the best no matter what the circumstances.
The ending to this story is perfect and all the pieces fit together! I love how perfect their story is and can't wait for you to all experience their story. Let me know what you think!!

(Warning, contains spoilers for Just Human)

I was devastated at the end of Just Human. Liv thinks she sees Danny being unfaithful, and without asking for an explanation just runs, leaving Danny with another ring in his pocket and, this time, much larger hole in his heart. Both are hurting just because they are still thinking back to the rejection they each felt when they first separated, and how it was inevitable for them to lose each other.

Finally realizing the real reason for Liv's departure, Danny repeatedly tries to reach out to her but Liv is angry and broken and doesn't want to be hurt by Danny yet again. When Liv gets severely injured, Danny finds out and rushes back to the UK to be by her side. She reluctantly lets him take care of her, but is still seething with anger and hurt. Danny tries to show her that he's not the man she thinks he is, and that he'd do anything for her, but she keeps him at arms length. For the first 40% of this book, it's hard to not be mad at Liv for being so cruel to Danny. She knows the truth of what happened before she ran, but still can't trust him. It takes Danny's best friend Jen and Liv's best friend Max to finally help them both put the pieces back together that insecurity and doubt and have torn apart.

I am officially head over heels for Danny Morgan. I loved him for being such a romantic soul in Just Human, but it takes a very special kind of man to take such a big of a chance on love when you've been left not once, but twice with your heart on your sleeve. Liv thought about Danny more that she would ever allow herself to admit to, and they both knew from the time they were children they loved each other, they just never knew how to allow themselves to take the risk and really admit it.

The friendships they both had with Jen and Max really drove the story, and how they filled in the void in Liv and Danny's lives left from all those years of separation. This series is about true love and how friends become all the family you need.

This is the second book in the Just Human series. It picks up right where Just Human left off. Liv is stubborn and Danny fights to the point of being pathetic to get Liv to hear the truth. Trust seems to be the theme here and trying to find it when you spent so much time being afraid of it.

You see, this is mostly a story about overcoming your own hangups and realizing that there comes a time when you have to care about someone other than just yourself. Letting people in isn't always a bad thing. We weren't meant to live life alone. Sometimes it seems easier, but saving ourselves from heartache results in a very mundane existence. Sometimes we need to let go. Relationships usually have bumps when people fail to communicate and when one or the other looks at everything with fear in their eyes and ignores what's right in front of them.

This books was hard to read for the first half. Liv was honestly ridiculous and her self pity party got annoying after about 2 chapters. I get her hangups, but Danny explained himself and I really didn't get what all the anger was about. Honestly, I would have felt stupid if it was me. All of this could have been prevented with simple words and asking a question. This book was pretty frustrating. This book strengthens the point that running never works out.

Danny kinda disappointed me in this book. He kinda appeared as weak and a sucker for Liv. I kinda felt like he was stripped of his dignity by Liv's insecurities.

Honestly, I think the first book could have ended with an additional few chapters and the story would have been enough. This book almost was overkill. There was too much detail on their reconciliation and it almost seemed redundant. This book was kinda like a very long epilogue. It's a sweet and nice read after the first 50%, but it lacked a little action or heart-thumping moments.

Great amazing conclusion to Danny & Liv's story. This wraps up everything from Just Human. It shows what they went through, their feelings, everything.

After being heartbroken in Just Human, Liv runs off. Now, I know it was a part of the story, but they both were too stubborn to see what's there and admit the depth of their love. I would have liked to have seen more of a fight, a confrontation, anything than just letting it be for a couple weeks.

But, fate once again intervenes, Liv is hurt and Danny takes that as a sign and once again crosses the Atlantic to be with her. He is groveling, on his knees trying every which way to show Liv he truly cares about her and loves her.

At first Liv refuses to give any thought to him, or what *may* have happened vs what she thinks she saw happen. But with the help of Max butting in, and Jen pushing Danny to not let go this time, they slowly start to talk again. Thank goodness for nosy friends!

Love the added emotions and troubles of Jen and Scott, and the lengths Danny is willing to go to help them, and in turn, Liv as well, and doing the same for Max and Charlie too. The amount of love between these characters is massive.

Kerry Heavens truly outdid herself with the continuation of this series, and wrapping it up in a pretty little bow. Again, written from UK viewpoint, I was not lost or confused and it all flowed fairly well. Also, Loved the POV's from both Liv and Danny. Book was very descriptive and detailed, even when it came time to describe the tattoos. Beautiful meaning ~ You are always rooted here with me ~

I fell in love with Danny and Liv in Just Human, so when I heard about Still Human, I knew I HAD to have it! This is a very unique story, and Kerry’s writing is so entertaining. Danny and Liv knew each other when they were kids, and fell in love. Unfortunately, Danny’s family moved, and neither Danny nor Liv wanted to make the other feel like they had to give up their own family to be together, so they split up which broke both their hearts. They both through themselves into their respective businesses, and never really got over the other. In Just Human, we saw them reconnect, fall back in love, and then be torn apart by insecurities and misunderstandings.

I loved Danny so much more in Still Human. He’s pretty much the perfect man. Don’t get me wrong, he has a few faults, but he does everything he can to try to prove his love to live. And that doesn’t even take into account the things he does for his friends. Not many people can make the offer he made to Jen and her husband. And, he completely won over Liv’s friend Max, which can’t have been easy to do.

Kerry did an amazing job creating very realistic characters. They aren’t the larger than life rock stars (who I love too), or the famous movie stars. They are just two ordinary people who make mistakes, take things wrong, and make bad decisions. Her writing style is amazing, and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!
