Fun Cozy Mysteries, Paranormal Mysteries (with a fantasy twist) all set on the Florida Coast. A Romantic Christian Series, with a strong sense of family set in upstate New York. These are the stories Victoria writes.
A hopeless animal lover, Victoria adds plenty of cats and dogs in each book, and her love of gardening shows through the characters. As a storyteller, it is important for Victoria to draw the reader into the story; to make you feel the sultry tropical heat or the numbing cold of the north.
Victoria and her husband live in South Florida and own a landscape garden service. Two feisty cats make themselves at home, usually on her desk as she writes.
A lover of a good mystery, she is an avid reader and likes to be outdoors. When she is not reading, you may find her working on a needlepoint project.

Someone Killed the head of the new filming crew and Lizzy feels she needs to investigate. She even gets the approval of Detective Richard Mendoza. She is going to take part of the whole investigation, but then there is another murder, tied to the first one, and things are starting to get complicated.
This is book 2 of A Southern Cozy Cat Mystery (Professor Higgins Investigates)
If you want to know more, you should get the book, you wont feel dissapointed, and you will really love it.
Lizzie Higgins is working with a new film crew to document the renovations at Azalea Plantation. The crew is led by Camille, a demanding woman who does not care who is upset by her orders. Camille has four crew members and a groupie with her for the shoot. When Camille is found dead Lizzie discovers that each of the crew members is harboring a secret and she is asking subtle questions to see if any of them has a motive for murder. This is the second book in the Professor Higgins Investigates series. I did not read the first book, but found this book stands alone and provides enough background information to make the reader understand the relationships between characters. It also made me want to go back and read the first book. I thought the main characters were very realistic and developed nicely. The setting seems peaceful despite it being the scene of a murder. The plot moved steadily and the book was hard to put down. I am looking forward to finding out what happens next in the series.
I love the whole atmosphere and setting of these books. The author has a certain laid-back style with Lizzie and those around her. A sleuth who keeps her head at all times! Clever story. A temporary film crew arrives at the plantation and it isn’t too long before one of the members ends up floating, face-up in the river. With so many hidden secrets to dig into, who would have the motive to kill? Seems that everyone has something to lose if their true identities are revealed and the truth outs. With a little help from the ghostly residents and a playful, determined cat, Lizzie eventually sets a trap after a second body is found and the mystery deepens. A regular whodunnit in a wonderful setting.
Another great edition to a fun series that has such wonderful characters. There is a slight paranormal twist that makes it really fun, especially when the ghosts play tricks on Lizzie’s miserable cousin, Freddie. Interesting new character, Kelly, has entered in this story and I have a feeling there are going to be some future fun twists involving her. Love the slow developing romance with Lizzie and Kevin and I love how characters show up from the author’s other series. There are plenty of suspects and twists to the mystery and a great conclusion. Very enjoyable all around. Can’t wait for book 3.
Two ghosts and a wilful cat, what more could I possibly want, LOL! A good book, it was so nice to be back. So nice to see some personal developments! And of course there’s a new murder and Lizzie has to solve it! With the help of her friends, of course. And don’t forget Harry! Lizzie can be very stern is she needs to be! You can see the teacher in her. The pace was slightly slow before the murder started, calm and relaxing, but once the case started there was no putting this book down! A little crossover element with Piper, from Mrs. Avery’s Adventures, showing up, which was cool!
When a new film crew for the Plantation's restoration project is sent to replace the normal crew who is shooting at a different location. Camille, the owner of the film crew is a tyrant to work for, and none of her employee's are sad when her body is found on the plantation grounds.
Catnip Caper is the second book in the Professor Higgins series. There are developed characters, some misdirection, and a cat that does what he wants.
A captivating murder mystery takes some surprising twists and turns. Lizzie and Trisha are working together to restore the plantation homestead. The process will be filmed and shown on Lizzie's garden show. The resident ghost plays an integral part in solving the murder of one of the crew members on the replacement film team. I received a free copy of this book and am leaving a review voluntarily.
Tropical beauty amongst the madness. The description of this lush tropical plantation is so complete that I can almost smell the azaleas. What a pity there has been a death at such a lovely place. Hopefully the case will be solved in time to film the show that shares this magnificence with the public. Loving the downhome feel of this series. Makes me long for my Florida roots. <3
I read this book without having read the first book in the series, so there were some places that I felt I was missing some context and previous character development. Despite those missing tidbits, the story was still a fun and light read. The plot itself was well rounded, but not overly complex for the length. A good book to enjoy over a weekend.
Harry the cat is the best part. Lol, I say that about every cat ☺️ But seriously, this was definitely a good book and if you enjoy cats, ghosts, and good friends - and a murder of course, you should read this book!
