Onyx Shadows is the second book in the Catnip and Cauldrons series. Cole and Onyx are back and after everything they have been through there is nothing that will keep them apart. Onyx is discovering who she is and with Cole by her side, she finds happiness as she has never known. As Cole and Onyx travel to Rome, they see the real depth of their love and the deep passion they share. While overseas, Onyx meets other shifters and discovers that there are friends and foes everywhere. Cole will do anything to protect Onyx and keep her safe. As their adversaries work to tear them apart, Cole and Onyx prove that true love prevails every time.
Onyx Shadows offers a fantastical world with shifters, magic, wizards, passion, romance, and plenty of heart. Onyx and Cole share a strong connection and witnessing their transformation from the first book in the series to now is simply romance at its best. The smoking hot connection between Cole and Onyx will set your Kindle on fire. The fantastical world that Autumn Jones Lake has created will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire read.
Overall, I highly recommend Onyx Shadows to all of my paranormal romance loving friends. Autumn Jones Lake is one of my favorite authors and this is one series you do not want to miss!

I absolutely adored this follow-up to Onyx Night.
Spoilers!
A lot more action than the first book. Onyx and Cole visit Rome and there is a scene there that absolutely made me cry my eyes out. Any time a book makes me cry, it's an auto-five star!
We meet more cat-shifters and learn more about their world. More characters to fall in love with! I can't wait for the next one! Not as steamy (but still pretty hot!) as the first one, but much more story here instead of just smexing makes it a good read.

One of my favorite sequels to a paranomal I loved! I always worry that follow-up books won't be as good as the original, but Onyx Shadows is every bit as awesome (and even better really) than Onyx Night.
New characters are introduced giving me hope that this series will grow and continue.

Major swooning happened with this book! Cole was amazing *insert many hearts* Don't tell Wrath, though.
This one isn't as fast-paced as book 1; it's a more laid-back one. The story line just flows, there's enough drama to make you want more - there was a time or two I wanted to smack one particular character, if you'll read it you'll understand.
Cole takes Nyx on a trip to Rome - I know, right? - and there they meet another cat shifter, thus finding out quite a lot of things about the shifter community that they didn't know. They decide to join other cats' cause; others that refused to obey the elders' rules by mating with whomever they chose.
Of course that there are hot scenes - it's AJL we're talking about; swoon-worthy ones - oh, Cole; and scenes where I was biting my nails - hoo boy, my heart could barely take it!
If I wasn't clear enough with everything I wrote so far, I'll write it down now: I loved it! I need more! Book 3 can't get into my grubby hands soon enough!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. I'm rating 4.5 - 5 stars and I do recommend it to any PNR lover.

Plot: Cole and Onyx are headed to Italy, and while there, they run into other members of the magical/shifter community. Onyx meets another cat shifter who tells her that there are more shifters out there who don't want to be part of the old system. Cole and Onyx decide to find out more about this and in doing so enter a new community of shifters that may or may not be telling them everything they know.
Commentary: The story begins soon after the first one ended, but it's not exactly clear where/when/why for a while, because there is a delay of sorts with no explanation. We begin on a plane and then have to figure out where they're going. It was sweet to take Onyx to Rome where her mother wanted to go so badly. The ending is much like the beginning in that it's a little loose, plot-wise. This story ends with Molly being kidnapped, and I assume the next book will begin with the search for her.

Enjoyed this just as much as the first in the series. This author has yet to write something I don't enjoy. Loved the characters, well written as always.

Not my MC series but still a great story and out of the box from my normal reading. I dont think there is anything I wouldnt read by AJL.

As the second installment in the Catnip & Cauldrons trilogy, this was just as good as the first!! It has mystery and action and hotness all in an interesting story that I really enjoyed!! I definitely recommend you pick this up!! It does end in a cliff hanger, but don't worry, part 3 Feral Escape will be out soon!!! I look forward to see how this ends!!
