They Found Their Voice : Stories from Soviet Nationalities with No Written Language before the 1917 October Revolution (compiled by Evgenia Imbovitz, Moscow : Progress Publishers, 1977).

The stories vary from sweet and wry reminisces to charming fairy tales and riddles. I was sorry to put it down, only one third read, but it was getting dark and my bed was calling.
