Awwwwwww, Kyoko :( Still, nice to see that both Kyoko and Ren have acknowledged their feelings to themselves, so the next step has to be announcing it to each other.

Can I just say first of all how exciting it is for Kyouko to not only have realised her feelings, but it seems finally ACCEPTED her feelings [towards Ren]? Even if she doesn't want him to know she's still accepted them herself! :D

I really love how it seems that the President is determined to make her the "No. 1 [female] in showbiz" now though, after realising just how long she'd been in love with Ren, and how well she'd been able to hide it from him of all people XD

I'm still a bit lost as to why exactly Ren and Kyouko are in Guam of all places... but now Kyouko and Corn have been reunited at last, and she may or may not have worked out that Kuon = Ren and I'm SO EXCITED.

But also it was a cliffhanger, so I'm gonna go read the next volume STAT.

Fun

I forgot how much I enjoy this series! The slow burn romance is so good—I need to see them finally admit their feelings!

More reviews (and no fluff) on the blog

This was another great volume as the President confronts Mogami and forces her to recognize that all the locks have been broken off the box guarding her heart. It's also the volume that we get to see Ren as his natural blonde hair, blue eyed Kuon self - albeit as more of a Mogami fairy creature version. There some very good writing in here and Nakamura really makes the most of the moments she's created in this volume.

Story: The President has seen what is in Mogami's heart but promises he won't reveal her feelings to Ren. When she flies to Guam earlier than planned, she finds an unguarded Ren on the beach. She's sure he's her childhood fairy friend Kuon all grown up. And he's quite happy to continue the pretense. What will she reveal to Kuon about herself and feelings for Ren?

The art is especially good right now in the series and certainly there are quite a few fangirl moments. Mogami/Ren ship has moved a bit forward now and it's great to see both able to be themselves without the pretenses. A complete reverse of the last two volumes where each was playing a character.

Nakamura is going to string us along further but when translations are this good, it's such sweet pleasure. Reviewed from an advanced review copy provided by the publisher.

2015: I love you Skip Beat!! I have missed you!! I am glad a story is finally moving along. Is there an ending in sight? Land over that horizon? It is torture that I have been reading this one for about a decade and it is still not done. Okay, it's not quite that long, but it's getting close now. I have to say, it still holds up, even after all this time. There are lots of stories that do not. You like them at that time, but not as you age.

Anyway, and Corn's back! And the short about Shotaro sooo could have been a featurette in the story. Look at me adding stuff when I am asking for it to end so I can enjoy forever. haha. I was surprised by Rory's mtg, and could see why Kyoko forgot about white day. I often do. It's not a cultural thing, it's just not often in manga, though Valentine's and Christmas is. haha. Anyway, the library is behind and needs to get 35 ASAP!

I love this series and am looking forward to seeing how Ren and Kyoko's relationship will evolve from this point on. Seeing Kyoko interact with "Corn" should be a fun new arc. I also enjoyed the little bonus story "An encounter beyond their wildest dreams" about Kyoko running into Sho while she was Setsu. His reaction when he realized it was her because of her kicking him was great.

This volume contains Acts 201 - 206
Act 201: Desperate Teeter
Act 202: Léntracte
Act 203: A Step Toward Atonement
Act 204: Crayola Paradise - HOT SPOT
Act 205: Crayola Paradise - HOT SPOT
Act 206: Crayola Paradise - HOT Limit

I was left on pins and needles after the last volume! But this starts off teasing me. I have to what a whole chapter to get back to "The look" Agony! I am still in shock of Kyoko's breakdown. But is was also sweet to see her act so human. The scrabble to keep Ren/Kuon away from Kyoko by Ten was so amusing. And how that plays out has me shaking my head. Ten could never handle being a manager, that's for sure. Poor woman would have a nervous breakdown!

I'm so happy that Kuon has finally start to forgive himself. He is so cute. I can't believe he was jealous of himself.

I was super curious for Lory's reaction after the end of 33, but it didn't go where I expected and then a few panes explained off panel time passage before the truly brilliant part happened. I love how Lory presents Kyoko to herself, her life, and her growth. I've been waiting for this realization to hit for several volumes now and the pay off was worth it. Also...love Ren. Always. On to 35! ?(> ? <)?

The devastating emotions of Kyoko. Terrified and in love at the same time. Such an all or nothing kinda girl. But we've seen her trauma with Sho so I don't blame her at all. And some of her worst issues are yet to come. To bookend the previous volume's intense scene with a soft reunion of Kyoko and Corn makes my heart so happy. Also, this is the meddlesome President energy I love. Without the creeper vibes.

I was actually pretty impressed with the emotional and honest side of Kyoko we got to see in this issue. All the tension and the angst with the Cain siblings is fun, but this was a lot more insightful.

This is a turning point for Kyoko. She's one step behind in ways with Ren. As he comes to terms with his feelings. She comes to realize hers, and needs to figure it out
