Anthony Metivier

His approach to mnemonics, known as the Magnetic Memory Method, has introduced several new innovations to the art of memory. Influenced by memory skills innovators like Harry Lorayne and Tony Buzan, Metivier is a promoter of mental literacy.
Born in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, Metivier grew up in Kamloops. He completed first a BA and MA in English Literature before completing an MA in Media and Communications at the European Graduate School. Later, he completed a PhD and became the first person to hold a Doctorate in Humanities from York University.
From 2009-2011, Metivier taught Film Studies in the Art History Department of the University of Saarland partly under the auspices of a Mercator research grant for the project, Elective Affinities: Studien zu filmischen Adaptionen von Romanen und Erzhlungen mit Kunstbezug.

This book`s technique is based on spatial memory which is a skill developed for humans to record information about the environment and its spatial orientation in order to not get lost while hunting animals or traveling long distances. The disclosure of the technique is the Memory Palace which consists of creating an imaginary situation by using mnemonics and associations for a determined word in a place well-known for the practitioner (More detail can`t be revealed to create a spoiler-free review). Everything said in this book has to come with science and natural skills that we have within us that can be further explored if used with the right tools for its development. This is a MUST-READ book for all language learners and curious people about memory.
