When I heard there was a fourth book I was so excited. I have enjoyed the previous ones and this feels like the transitioning book between what was in the previous trilogy to what is to come, so at times it felt disorienting because we don't know what is to come, but also it was delightfully familiar and we still get a lot of the sueprhero gang, dragons and Flciker, but there are new characters and new developments and I am looking forward to the next stories.

I completely love this series of books and have been waiting eagerly for this next instalment. It is such a pleasure to be back with Tomas and his superhero squad of friends and to be reunited with their mischievous , mesmerising dragons. Tomas and Flicker’s relationship is as tenderly and affectionately depicted as always and it really does warm the reader’s heart to be part of.
In book 4 the story brings in a new generation of small but chaos-causing winged wonders. Change is on the horizon as new ,very unusual dragons hatch, friends find their own paths and Tomas feels the weight of tending to the precious dragon fruit seeds to ensure the future of these magical creatures.
Tomas� newly hatched dragon is huge fun to meet � bringing mayhem and mixed emotions ( and the smell of burning !) Andy Shepherd gently and sensitively explores Tomas� conflicted sense of new loyalties to his original, much loved dragon Flicker and his new, hard to handle bundle of energy (literally) Zing.
The introduction of new, self -proclaimed � dragon expert� Aura moves along the action in a new (hopefully ongoing) direction as again the reader gets to share the pure joy of a character discovering the delightful secret of the dragons existence .
I love the sense of wonder and imagination that soak through these books and the absolute joy and inspiration for creativity I think they give the reader. Looking forward to book 5 already .

Once again, an absolute riot of a book! In this Dragon book Tomas is faced with the superhero squad beginning to move apart and we see the emotional toll that takes on him, which is a fantastic way of introducing children to talking about their emotions. There is lots of chaos, exploding poos and most of all dragons. A superb book that made me laugh out loud on more than one occasion.

FINISHED: just like the other books in this series, this is an absolute joy. I love the friends and their dragons, but what happens when a new girl is on the scene and she loves dragons?! This was loads of fun, full of mischief and new friends! I’d really love to have a dragon!

A terrific book. Tomas is my favourite character. I have learnt from this book that our beloved ones always loves us and care for us. We should give them space to grow and always cherish the memories.

Tomas was a bit slow working out Zing’s diet. But then as I’ve said before I’m not in the target demographic.
I think I know Auras secret too - can’t wait to read the next story to see if I’m right.

Bang with Aura!

I thought that with Flicker gone the dragon trouble would settle yet now there are new troubles. Instead we have Zing, changes to the squad, new friends, missing seedlings and far more challenges ahead. If dragons wasn't enough how do you deal with the fact that you may not be the king of dragon knowledge anymore. Another wonderful addition to the series that I was surprised managed to keep the originality and incredible storytelling going after the first story arc came to completion building on a great foundation.

Quarto volume della saga sui draghi con protagonista Tomas e la sua banda di � supereroi� che sognano i loro draghi che si sono allontanati per sopravvivere, ma che a volte tornano a trovarli.
L’albero dei frutti del drago continua a produrre nuovi draghetti e un giorno uno dei piccoli decide di non voler volare via come gli altri, ma di rimanere con Tomas. Il ragazzino se ne prenderà cura mentre cerca di capire come far crescere nuove piante del drago per evitare così la loro estinzione. Nel frattempo a scuola arriva una nuova compagna, Aura, che ha la stessa passione per i draghi e diventa così amica di Tomas.
Un’altra avvincente avventura per il nostro protagonista e i suoi amici. Sempre profonde le riflessioni fatte dal nonno e sull’amicizia, con la giusta dose di ironia e divertimento. Aura, il nuovo personaggio, è piaciuto molto a tutti e ormai non vediamo l’ora di leggere il quinto romanzo, anche per appurare se tutte le ipotesi formulate sono giuste.
Un romanzo adatto a partire dai sei anni.

This book was just as fun as the previous three. I enjoyed getting to know new dragons and new friends/ competition. I must say my favourite character is Lolly and I’ve loved that she’s grown with the books to but still just as mad as the first one.
A fabulously funny read that will go down well with younger readers (y2/3).
