Very good and evidence-based psychology book for students. Although seems a little bit biased toward left-wing politics.

I have not read everything in this 640-page book, but I went through it page by page, and found it very interesting. The book is a Human Development manual, explaining how humans become humans - how, from before birth and onto death, we develop and show our humane character to the world: how we learn and socialise, how we face trauma and hardship, what is the importance of learning and social interaction and family life, how we cope with time's passing, how we deal with each other and with our own ego. It's at times a medical read, or a pshichological one, or a social one - a beautiful combination of studies to show the way we pass through life. Being a manual, it discusses different views and theories, therefore it's a great intellectual tool to start one off in a direction of study. I've enjoyed the skim!

A substantial book with many facts about human development, which is more broadly oriented than I initially thought. It contained some interesting facts, for example, that you don't necessarily have to be very sad first to process a traumatic event, as that can even be harmful for the future. Additionally, the research on married versus divorced/single individuals was intriguing. However, many facts were somewhat obvious. Nevertheless, it was a remarkable book that effectively portrays how humans live from the womb to death. The cultural component was also significant in this book. I'm glad I read this book because it provides guidance and grounds you in what is and isn't beneficial for your human development, although of course you are not in control over everything.

This is an in depth look at the growth and development of the human mind and behavior. It examines and compares numerous theories like a good text should.

Es un manual de consulta. Más que libro de lectura, recomiendo tenerlo a la mano para revisar las cuestiones biológicas, emocionales y psicosociales del ser humano. Es una guía básica para personas que trabajan en el sector salud.

The book "Human Development" by Diane E. Papalia and explores various aspects of human development from childhood to adulthood. This book analyzes the biological, social, and cultural processes that influence human growth and examines the different stages of life in detail

Initially, the authors define human development and emphasize its importance in understanding human behaviors and experiences. They highlight that development is a continuous process influenced by multiple factors, including heredity and environment

The book then addresses the various stages of life, including the prenatal period, infancy, childhood, adolescence, and adulthood. Each of these stages has its own characteristics and challenges, which are explained based on scientific research and clinical experiences

In the section on infancy, the authors discuss the physical and cognitive growth of infants, as well as the importance of early interactions with parents and their impact on emotional development. They also explore the role of play in learning and social growth in children

During childhood, the book examines children's social and emotional skills, emphasizing that play and interaction with others play a key role in learning new skills. This chapter also addresses challenges related to learning and behavior in school

Adolescence is a period marked by significant physical and psychological changes. The authors explore identity formation, social pressures, and challenges related to independence during this stage. They also highlight the importance of friendships and family relationships in shaping adolescent identity

In adulthood, the book is divided into two sections: young adulthood and middle adulthood. In these sections, the authors examine career choices, marital and parenting relationships, as well as challenges related to mental and physical health during these stages

The authors also touch upon aging and its associated challenges. They emphasize that aging involves not only physical changes but also psychological and social dimensions that must be considered

In conclusion, the book discusses the impact of culture and society on human development. The authors stress that understanding cultural differences can help us better comprehend how individuals grow in various contexts

The book "Human Development" is a comprehensive resource for students, researchers, and anyone seeking a better understanding of the processes of human growth and the factors influencing it. This work combines theories and scientific research to provide a complete picture of the complex journey of human life

It´s great! It helps you to understand more about human actions and development. Also it has a lot of examples, which I don´t like it so much, but the investigations are interesting.
