Lily His name was Cayden, and he was a golden boy, an instant hit with everyone I knew. But the mask chipped and cracked in front of me, and I saw underneath. If I hadn’t, maybe everything would have been different. Maybe he would have let me go. I guess I’ll never know. I saw him, and I can never change that. Most importantly. he saw me. Now, the Coach says he’s staying with us for the season, in the room right next to mine I’m locked inside with my bully, and he’s watching my every move.
Cade It started with needing to make the coach’s daughter keep her pretty little mouth shut. It ended with an obsession mine. I’m burning. consumed - and she’s the reason. Now, there is no way back. Lily Williams isn’t like anyone think she is, underneath her straight-A student veneer. I’m the only one to see the real her, I’m the only one to know her And I’m the one who is keeping her.
Meet the Ice Gods, the Hockey players who never play by the rules and own Hade Harbor and everyone in it. Bad Intentions is a standalone bully romance featuring a possessive hockey playing Ice God, and the smart, sheltered object of his obsession.
It’s senior year, finally, and Lily’s (17-18) best friend Eve has convinced her to go out to a party. Lily has been sheltered all her life- her parents are protective of her and her dad’s the hockey coach at her high school, which means she’s off limits to everyone 😅. She reluctantly agrees to go out, as long as they leave within an hour 😬.
At the party, she ends up seeing the guy she bumped into earlier in the day- Cayden (17-18), who happens to be a hockey god, and the one she insulted by calling him a parasitoids 🫣. It was then that Cayden decided he was gonna go after her in whatever way he could.
You see, Cayden’s from the wrong side of the tracks, and has had an abusive past. He’s trying to better himself and become professional (NHL). He’s not gonna let this tiny, nerdy, red-haired and freckled girl ruin his future. So he’s gonna make sure she doesn’t get in his way, even if it means he has to get pretty close to her to make that happen 👀.
It doesn’t help that he’s her new foster brother now 😬.
And he finds exactly how he can ruin her if she causes him trouble; it’s always the quiet ones they say 😅
What I liked/loved: POSSIBLE SPOILERS —the tension 😮. Oh my goodness. There’s so many times the tension is thiiiiick when these two are around each other, even before they do anything. The scene where they shake hands the first “official time they meet in front of her parents gave me butterflies 😅. Not to mention the many times he gets her alone 👀
—he calls her ladybug and freckles 🥹
—the 🔥. There’s so much buildup and tension that I couldn’t wait until the dam burst 👀. Their first kiss happens at about 24% and then all the way by 56%🔥. And the times in between 😮 uffff🥵. Cayden’s lack of experience does NOT show up anywhere. He’s alpha and confident when it comes to 🔥. And he makes sure that Lily is ready 🫠
—primal play/fantasies/hand necklaces 👀. I mean, it IS kind of shady that Cayden read through her journal, but, LAWD 🥵 he sure puts that info to good use 💦. I 👏🏻was👏🏻here👏🏻for👏🏻it💁🏻♀
—how protective he is 🫶. He saves her many times 🥹 (even if it’s because of him 😬). Sigh. This might be a bully book, but he also can’t help himself and save her
—OMD 😈. I love it in my books 😉
—telling her ow off 🤣. Even though he’s not interested, he doesn’t hesitate to put her in her place 💁🏻♀
—the camaraderie between the players 🫶
—the side characters 👀. I can’t wait to read the next books. I’m not TOO excited about Beckett because I don’t know how much of a manhoooar he is so 😐 we’ll see 🤣
—the vulnerabilities of both of them 🫶. Even though they both have struggles, what Cayden has gone through no CHILD should ever experience ☹️. I just wanted to hug 8-year old Cayden ☹️😭. I do not mourn those monsters 😐 good riddance 😑
—the redemption/grovel ish. I still wasn’t too happy because of how upset I got, but it DID help raise my rating. Cayden CAN be swoony 🫶
—Nikolai and Ms. Sophie (the art teacher) 👀. I definitely need to read their duet 👀
—the “L 🫶
What I didn’t like/needed more of: SPOILERS —what Cayden did to Lily to get back at her. I. Was. 🤬🤬🤬🤬. Like truly 🤬. Angry tears formed in my eyes 😤. I get it. He thought she had leaked his backstory with the headlines, but what he shared of hers was WORSE!!!!😭 because of how intimate it all was. I know this is a bully romance. I know. But, the HUMILIATION she felt (and I felt it as secondhand embarrassment) was BEYOND what he experienced! The fact that she was bullied by OTHERS, made fun of, her property damaged, to the point where she had to isolate herself was m worse than what Cayden went through (however, he IS judged a lot ☹️ which is reprehensible/terrible considering his background). I’m livid all over again 😤. And do not get me started on the consequences. Like. STFU with that bulllll shiiiiet 😤
—deescalate🙄? Really🤦🏻♀? SMDH😐. There needed to be a lot more done here. Sure, Lily damaged Cayden’s bike, but look what he did! His crime was worse 😤 I wanted to smaaaack this principal 😑lol
—Lily traveling so far to clear her name 🤨. 10 years ago was 2013, the internet and smart phones were readily available by then. If this had been like 20 years before, it would make more sense to have to do this
—the fact that SHE did this to clear her name and what did Cayden do? Hmmm 😑 how did he clear Lily’s name publicity? I needed more here too. Basically. I needed a stronger grovel 😐. I was waaaay too upset 🤣
Overall, I really enjoyed this. It might seem like I didn’t, but I was able to really feel the love these two had for each other ❤️. That allowed me to overlook some of these transgressions lol

That's not romance.. when you treat your woman like shit that's not a fucking romance.
You can kill and torture everyone around But your woman is your queen motherfucker.
There's a difference between possessive men and abusive men, when everyday you walk on eggshells around your man because you don't know what gotten in his head that's not romance.
This was going so well up until the 65% mark, where the conflict happened. And it's funny how certain scenes could ruin the impression a reader has of the book. I rarely enjoyed bully romances, but this surprised me, and I had fun reading it before the main problem happened.
Cade acted out of anger and didn't even think things through before he impulsively spread Lily's journal. I knew he has a troubled upbringing and he's a broken kid, but in my head, I hoped for him to actually hear out her explanation or her version of what happened before he do anything drastic. But nope, he's hell-bent on getting even, so he did what he did. This made me furious at him and, honestly, ruined his overall character up until the end of the book. I thought he couldn't get any worse, but man, did he prove me wrong.
Around this time, I was hoping Lily would grow some backbone and not let Cade walk over her. But nah, she's hell-bent on something too, proving she's innocent and that she's not responsible for sending out that article. To be honest, I wish she ignored Cade, showed him indifference, and stopped trying to clear her name. It's not worth the effort and time, imo, but her people-pleasing personality wouldn't agree with that.
Then all the worse things Cade did during the 65%85% of the book were long forgotten after he saved her from his foster father. He didn't apologize for doubting her, spreading her journal entry, and telling Lily's parents about her plan to go to college in California. And Lily was more than happy to put everything in the past, so, I guess, good for her for being a nice person. I don't agree with it, but it's the story, and there's nothing I can do about it.
Then, when Lily finally told her parents and some friends about her official college plan, Cade's brightest idea was to send her his own journal, which apparently contained all of his thoughts during those weeks that they were at war. One of the entries said, "I'm sorry," but I'm not sure what he was sorry about when he wrote that. Was it for treating her like sh*t? Doubting her? Publishing her private journal entry? Airing her college plans to her parents? Letting other students bully her after that entry was published? For getting kidnapped by his foster father? I mean, he did a lot of stupid things in this story, and the last 10% of the book isn't enough, at least to me, to make up for all of these fuckups. Sorry, it's just not going to work.
I wish I could say Lily is better at handling everything that goes down, but for the most part, she didn't hold her ground and became a pathetic mess for wanting Cade's attention. Don't get me wrong, she displayed some steel at times, but most of her attempts were weak at best. 😮 Also, her body-betraying crap made the situation even worse. I'm still having a hard time understanding how she could possibly continue to sleep with someone who made her life miserable. Then again, that's bully romance for you. 😐
Anywaaay, I enjoyed the first half of this, but the last 30% took away all the fun I had and eventually ruined my mood and my supposed rating for this book. I'm not sure if I liked this at all, or even the MCs, for that matter. I wish I could forget the last part and live in blissful banter and tension between them, but I can't do that. So, 3 it is for a great start.

3,8. It’s an smooth book to read. I liked the situations, characters and the angst. Definitely I will read more in this series. It’s worth the reading.

Wow, this was quite the read! It was easy to get lost in for several hours. In this, Lily is a straight-A student who has naughty dreams and wants to escape her town for college. Cayden is from the other side of the tracks, desperate to make something of his life while people from his past are haunting him.
They get off to a bad start. It gets worse when Lily's dad offers to foster Cayden because his home situation wasn't the best. He decides to gets some dirt on her... let the games begin!
I loved the bullying, it wasn't too hardcore. The fact that Cayden is a virgin is surprising but it makes sense because of his childhood and upbringing. He also has a fear of being touched, but Lily breaks that barrier as well. Overall this was a pleasant, interesting read. I enjoyed it!
3,75 I wasn't expecting to like this but guess what I did....🙂 , I found myself enjoying the book more than I intended to even though I was against bully romance and many other things in this book but it was handled so well that I enjoyed every second of it 👌 So I'm definitely reading the rest of the series one day cuz I wanna jump to the other character's stories too 🩷
Hade Harbor High needs Cayden West. Cayden West needs Hade Harbor High.
A senior, Cade is running out of chances to be noticed by Hade Harbor University, the preeminent college for hockey players to be scouted by the NHL. When an opportunity to transfer to HHH presents itself, it’s a no-brainer. Living with Coach Eric won’t come without its own set of distractions, however.
Bad Intentions is a perfectly blended forbidden lovers, opposites attract romance with a bit of mystery and a whole lotta tension! Mila Kane was a new-to-me author, but I’m looking forward to meeting some of the side characters, including Nikolai and Sofia from the Made of Mayhem duet!

Holy wow! Bad Intentions is bully perfection! I was looking for a bully and this one just ticked every one of my boxes. Bully. Taboo. Nerdy girl. Boy from the bad side of town. A hero that can only be touched by her. /le swoon, lol. Very well written with great pacing that keeps you hooked to the end. Tons of action, a little bit of a whodunnit, and hot, hot smexy times 🥵. Cade is obsessed at first sight. Protective and possessive of his "Freckles", and God forbid anyone touch her, lol. He knows hockey is his ticket out of his hellish existence, but his feelings for Lily are threatening to derail everything. Lily is being crushed by her parents expectations. Her singular focus has been to graduate and get out of dodge, but Cayden sees her. He saw a glimpse of the dark underneath and isn't backing down. He's playing for keeps and I was totally here for it. A seriously fantastic read, I am super excited for Beckett and Eve's story. I'm kinda hoping for a redemption story with Winter and Eve's brother Asher as well ❤️.
So evidently I have a thing for hockey bad boys. That was part of the trouble with this highly-sexualized, disconcerting “bully romance: he really was a boy and his love interest a girl—the main characters are high schoolers, not even 18 when the story begins. I would have been so much more comfortable with the dark subjects this book tackles if the protagonists had been college seniors (or older) instead of high school seniors.
I wondered what a “bully romance is. In this case, it was more about control than outright meanness, although it had a tinge of that too, and was unpleasant. Fascinating, but unpleasant.
Apart from that, this book covered no new ground. A boy from the wrong side of the tracks who has been on both ends of violence meets the awkward straight-A overachiever who’s trying to escape overprotective parents. Sound familiar? Dirty Dancing with hockey sticks. But the author did flesh out her stereotypes pretty well, giving them unique histories and attitudes and FEELINGS, even if both Cayden and Lillian are frequently unreasonable and Lillian is the dumbest straight-A student ever. She has no situational awareness at all, so I pity her future lab partners.
A very nice ending diverted me from plot loopholes and irrational and downright idiotic behavior from the characters, so this ended at a solid 3 stars from me, and I’ll read another.
OMG!!!! It was sooo good and spicy!!!! Cayden and Lily’s story got me from the very beginning. I was so sad to finish it but there’s more books in the series 😁
“You and I were destined to be more than strangers. We were always going to be more. We were born to collide.”
Lily and Cayden are so different and yet, so similar. Bad (Golden) boy and good girl. Both are trying to make their dreams come true but for a different reasons…unfortunately or fortunately they crossed paths. For a 18year boy, Cade is definitely not acting his age. He’s so much more with his dirty mouth and priorities, plus his eyes on Lily. Cayden might be a psycho at some point but also, a person who was pushing Lily to open her “wings”…and Lily, cute character that knows her way and fast learner 😏
Also, Cayden’s names for Lily - Ladybug and Freckles. So cute 😊
This was just okay. I really didn't see a lot of connection between the characters and that made it hard to feel intrigued by their story. There was a weird mix of mature storyline and immature characters and for me that just wasn't working. Especially with our heroine, a lot of her backstory and character development felt very young and it made the writing feel immature as well. I think if there were more explanations to some things it would have made the characters make more sense together.
Overall, I think the plot was there and just wasn't executed well enough for me. I'd maybe be interested in reading the next book sometime in the future.
Ok.....she's 17 almost 18 (I know that I'm naive! I had to insert sound of music in there bruh)
First of all...high school. 😬😂 I'm 42.....they babies to me.
And he gets mad at the h at first because she accidentally runs into him? Dafuq is wrong with you bro? You might benefit from some therapy or some shit.
When arc readers give 4 stars to a arc book, you know it can't be good 😂😂😂😂😂😏
4.25⭐️ This is what I’m talking about!!!!!! 🤭 My first read by Mila Kane and I absolutely loved it! This was a bully romance executed to perfection! Cayde & Lily’s story takes you on an emotional roller coaster and no doubt about it!
Cayden wasn’t at all what I expected! I expected another privileged manwhore whose only goal in life was to play hockey and sleep with as many puck bunnies as possible. And while his goal was to get into the NHL, he wanted it more out of necessity, because he has had a tragic childhood and needed to get far away from his foster dad! Cayden was a bully (as expected) at times but he was not unnecessarily cruel or aggressive. Even when he behaved abominable towards Lily, you could see how much it pained him to see her getting hurt because of him. Alsooooo, he was soooooo deliciously possessive!😍🙌 Oh and did I mention that he was a virgin as well?🤭
Lily was a likeable heroine with a quirky personality! She was the Coach’s daughter and a bit of a nerd and she felt suffocated by her parents expectations. That’s when Cayden came into the picture and changed the course of her life! 😏 She should have been a bit more confident at times, she shouldn’t have given in so easily but for the most part, she was the right match for Cayden.
I really liked the chemistry between them, their constant push and pull. From the moment they set eyes on each other, they had an instant connection, which was delicious to “witness.🤭😏 I didn’t rate it higher even though it totally gave me 5 stars vibes, because I would have wanted to see their emotional connection explored better, especially because the sex took center place in their relationship. I wanted more intimate scenes where they simply interacted with each other, getting to know one another better! But who knows, maybe that’s only me nitpicking!?🤔🤷🏻♀
Here 👇 is a scene that I found really beautiful:
______________________________________
Hard ridges of scar tissue met my fingers, and I stilled. Cayden seemed to freeze for a moment. His mouth spoke against my skin. “Don’t. I ran my fingers along the word carved into his flesh, because that was what it had to be. “Don’t please. His voice didn’t sound anything like him. I dropped my hand from his back and brought it to his face instead. His eyes were lowered to the floor. I cupped his strong jaw, so tense compared to only moments before. I leaned up on my tiptoes and kissed his lips chastely. His eyes snapped to mine, as if he was surprised that I still wanted him after being reminded of his scars. I still didn’t know what they said, but he thought I did, and that was what mattered.
______________________________________
The word “written on his back was WORM and it had been cut into his skin by his former foster parents when he was 8. 🥹 That’s why he was so mad when she called him a parasitoid.
If you are in the mood for a good bully romance where the mmc isn’t a complete jerk and the fmc isn’t a complete pushover (for the most part at least) this is the book for you! Hope you like it as much as I did!☺️

All the things I loved about this series: ✔️ alpha YA/NA heroes ✔️ scrappy and bossy heroines ✔️ romantic and hot gestures from the guys ✔️ pushback from the girls ✔️ the back and forth between the couples was really well done ✔️ Winter was probably my favorite heroine of all ✔️ oh, and lets not forget that the guys were ice hockey players 😍
The books, which were incredibly entertaining, checked many of my favorite things in YA romances.
Hot and possessive guys, which were incredibly well done. Major HOT alert!!!!
I also really enjoyed the heroines, all three were scrappy and bossy, a perfect match for the guys.
Also, there were scenes in these books that were the perfect example of how to combine hot guys and romantic gestures. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!
First 50% of each book was undeniably a 5 star read ......
It was just the last 50% that had me skimming..... In each book around the 50% mark the story took a dive for me. First comes the third act breakup, then the OTT climax, and to finish it all up the too perfect ending.
BUT those first 50% are the reason why I'll keep picking up this author in the future....
DNF @20% - once again a bully with no reason to bully. - I don’t like how the author set this up to have her cake and eat it too. The virgin h who has never been touched somehow knows that she’ll love to be raped so the H reads her diary about her rape fantasies and now he has “consent no matter what he does. 👍🏻🙄 Of course the little virgin will go full rape fantasy porn star and get wet every time he touches her even though he’s an ass for no reason. Why does he keep touching her and talking to her like he’s had sex before when in reality he’s a virgin and hates being touched? This makes no sense. I read a review that says he’s cool with her making out with another dude, so with that, I’m out ✌

I loved the chemistry between Lily and Cayden. Lily was so sweet and Cayden so obssesed with her, and i loved it so much. This is an enemies to lovers and bully romance that will steal your heart.
And i can´t wait to read Eve and Becket´s book, i know that they are going to be my favourites.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Weak plot, i dont get why the major point in any story should be about virginity and having sex it's always the same thing and it's just boring. Cayden = a bully and blackmailed the fmc to get in her pants and thats just disgusting i really dont know how anyone would praise such a character
everytime. i give dark romance a chance. I suffer terribly🩹
it's like authors don't know dark romance can be written without borderline grape and emotional AND physical abuse. to be clear, I'm the first girl in line for the bully trope but it's a very thin line to walk when writing a bully love interest. I have so much to say and yet each second I spend writing the review is one second I could spend forgetting it. the trauma is already making me forget it so I'll write this now as quickly as possible before all memories of this shitshow are erased by traumatic amnesia.
when someone sleeps, don't touch them 😃 that seems easy enough 😍 it's not dark romance it's just assault 🤪
she has no spine whatsoever no backbone no self worth no memory at all for that matter bc how can miss girl say "I'll never forgive you" for something genuinely terrible (as in he actively tried to ruin her future bc it didn't suit him) and get down and dirty with him not even 1 chapter later. every single awful thing he does, she somehow brainwashes herself to believe she wanted it all along but didn't know it, or that he did it bc he has a sad past like girlllllllll omg get a fucking grip!!!😡
he asks why she hates him, right after publicly humiliating her and causing the entire school to bully her so bad she got a broken nose, assaulting her friend, threatening her constantly, AND right after terrorizing her in a dark ice rink until she repeatedly fell and hut herself🤗
she collides with a hard chest or an immovable flesh wall AT LEAST 7 times in the entire book. once is already annoying but seven has got to be a bet to piss off the readers 🗣
never ever ever ever make me read another scene of public smut. it's cringe it's disgusting it's nightmare inducing pls fingering her under a blanket at a party in a room full of people AND his friend noticed and jokes about it LIKE WHY DID WE NEED THAT I want to cry and wash my eyes / mind with bleach🦅
if someone, in an effort to punish me for something I didn't do, put screenshots of my diary all over school in which I describe my CNC dreams in details (I'm talking about the MC I promise I don't have a diary) I would never, EVER talk to that person again without wishing them the worst misery this world has to offer. not our girl tho 😋 she goes out of her way to prove she didn't deserve it 🤨 WHAT DID THIS MAN DO TO YOU?!? fuck him!! fuck what he thinks 😩 stop proving anything to this mf and change schools immediately!!!
the foster situation was a big let down tbh he's basically staying over they're not really a foster family
but if it was this bad, and I went through all this bullshit, why 2 stars??? hear me out. the smut. was something. the man may not give a fuck about his girl being bullied and destroy her future for his own personal enjoyment but he is GOOD. despite him being a virgin he somehow gives her the best sex ever, props to the author for writing smut scenes this well🌟
did I mention him blackmailing her into spending a full day with c*m filled underwear (he stole them the night before and came on them, their only interactions so far were threats from him and her being nice and scared) and later as their relationship progresses her tucks her in to spend the night in a c*m covered bed with it down her thighs etc???? why is she ok with it?? it's not even a kink thing they're not turned on by the idea of sitting in their own mess they're just dirty fuckers. also, at some point it's said "bucket load of c*m inside her" and if i had to read it so do you
thank you for bearing with me while I get this off my chest😻 I purged it all out of me and can now proceed the healing process : forgetting and moving on to a romcom🎀
Y’all THIS BOOK. When I tell you I could not put this book down, I’m not kidding. I sat down to read it every spare second I had this weekend.
It’s the first book in the Hellions of Hade Harbor Series where we meet Lily Williams & Cayden West. Cayden comes from a bad part of town & has quite the traumatic past which he’s trying to escape when he starts at Hade Harbor High. Lily has always kind of been a wallflower & everyone knows she’s off-limits as her dad is the head coach of the hockey team at Hade Harbor High.
Lily & Cayden got off on the wrong foot when they first met so Lily is less than thrilled when her dad brings him home & tells her Cayden is staying with them for the school year. Cayden is a very talented hockey player & is the key to the school winning the championship so they are going to be fostering him. Only problem is Cayden seems to be focused on Lily. He wants her for himself but also fears letting her too close close enough to see the real him. So what happens when the one girl he isn’t supposed to want, is the one girl he can’t stay away from?
This book just sucks you in from the very beginning. I loved Cayden. My heart truly hurt for him & his childhood. Sure he was a huge jerk at times but getting to see his inner thoughts & how much he cared for Lily was so sweet. Not to mention I freaking loved how possessive this man was 👏🏼 I can’t wait to continue the series. I already know I’m going to be obsessed with Eve & Beckett!
Tropes: - Sports Romance 🏒 - Coach’s Daughter - Forced Proximity - Forbidden Romance - Bully Romance - Enemies to Lovers - Bad Boy/Good Girl - Opposites Attract - Boy Obsessed - Traumatic Past - Dual Virgins
It's been a hot minute since I've read a bully trope. I clearly am late to hockey romance but regardless, this was a bully romance done right. I think what made this so good was the amount of angst, not just between the two MCs, but their individual struggles as well. There was depth to both Cayden and Mila rather than bullying for bullying sake. I really enjoyed this story and can't wait to read more in this series. Highly recommend giving it a go if you enjoy sports/bully romance.
I had high hope at first and the story went crazy and fun i was practically on my toes and then it went south ,kept cringing , rolling my eyes ,gagging ,hating my self and them included , i fuckin hate cade and i even want to strengle lily for being a dumbshel in distress for being so stupid. Uhg wait a perfect night for sleeping over this . I couldn't be more fast to finish it .
Starts off with a shy bookworm, meeting a bad boy that just transferred to her school and is being coached by her father who has made it clear to the entire team that she’s off limits.
Stay with me! It sounds like every single sports romance but then takes some twists! And yes betrayal! At one point you hate the MC after he does something unforgivable after he thinks he’s been betrayed, then the story turns a little dark. But loved the ride and while some parts are predictable it made up for almost tearing our heart out. Loved it!
This book was my first book by this author and was so good. I love a good bully book and this delivered that as well as a great rise above your past storyline for Caden. I loved these 2 together and if you read it I think you will too ☺️
This bullying got at times quite exhausting. Around 50% I questioned how much bullying is too much and wondered where this story is leading.
However, Lily gave as good as she got from Cayden and I was intrigued by their push and pull. I loved that Lily and Cayden were such carefully layered characters who somehow pushed the other to be a better version of themselves. But that part I only realised later in the book.
This book was my first by Mila Kane and for sure wasn't my last!
