While Vash the Stampede, "The Humanoid Typhoon," fights to stop his evil brother, Knives, from wiping out humanity on the planet Gunsmoke, advanced warships from Earth arrive to rescue the long-lost human colony. Can they avert the impending genocide if Vash fails, or will the homicidal Knives escort everyone to the last roundup?
Yasuhiro Nightow's Trigun is an international phenomenon, and Trigun Maximum Omnibus Volume 4 packs nearly 700 pages of Nightow's masterpiece!
TW: There is a male on male r*pe scene in the very last volume, last chapter. I was honestly surprised at how graphic it was, since the rest of the manga isn't like that?
Lots of battles in this one, lots of back story and world building. You can tell it's winding down.
In this omnibus collection we start off continuing the fight between Wolfwood and Razlo/Livio. This leads to an ending that was both a bit familiar but still slightly surprising in regards to the decision Livio makes.
As expected Vash steps in to provide support but there isn’t time to stop and think about what has happened to Wolfwood. Knives onslaught against humanity is still ongoing and humanity has gathered in one last city to make their stand.
Out in space more forces have arrived and are ready to fight against Knives and the Plants as well, but he proves more cunning and more dangerous then expected.
Time is running out and it seems likely that the final showdown will be happening in the next volume.
It’s interesting to see the difference between how the Plants on the planet are treated versus how they have developed and grown with the space forces.
