Tempting Promises is the third book in Corinne’s ‘Whitlock Family� series and I was so here for it. I’ve been looking forward to Rowan and Charlotte’s story since I met them. Enemies to lovers is my jam and this one hit the spot.
Rowan Whitlock and Charlotte Sullivan are not just enemies, they’re neighbors with competing farms. Oh, and Rowan is Charlotte’s sister’s ex which is the main reason that she doesn’t like him. It’s a tangled web. Charlotte is going through a hard time and who is there to help her? If you guessed Rowan you’d be right. Though she is resistant, he eventually wears her down.
Rowan was my absolute favorite. A gem of a man. I wish Charlotte would have come around a little earlier when it came to him, but with time she saw him for who he really was in the best way possible. I loved the forbidden romance, the forced proximity and the family dynamics of the Whitlocks. I’m excited we still have one book left in this series. I have a feeling Brynlee’s is really going to be something!

4.5⭐️ When rivals Rowan and Charlotte, both vying for the same farming contract, end up stranded on a hiking trail, sparks ignite. With competing financial issues, and Rowan’s connection to Charlotte’s sister (he’s her ex), this should be a non-starter. But as the two begin to spend more time together following their dalliance in the woods, and their visceral shifts into a friendship and beyond, both must decide if they are willing to put their futures, and hearts, on the line.
This series just keeps getting better, with this most recent installment easily my favorite of the three. I am such a sucker for a good enemies to lovers filled with all the snarky banter and Corinne Michaels delivered it in droves. The fun combination of the forbidden love/sisters-ex and the feuding rivals trope meant this book was destined to be filled with sparks.
What I loved most is the clear delineation between the two halves of the book, the first being the establishment of characters and relationships. Here we get the slow build of chemistry as we witness the vast amount of hate these characters feel for one another.
This then flows perfectly into a second half focused more on navigating a relationship. Part of what allows for such a payoff, is the development of each of these characters, their thoughts and motivations, and why they feel the way they do.
Focusing on building the characters prior to delving into their relationship created the emotional investment and tension needed for that spark to become a flame in the second half of the story. Here we are treated to the angst, emotions and all the spice as these two must now navigate their newfound feelings while the rest of life remains status quo.
🎧 I listened on audio and Andi Arndt and Jason Clarke did an exceptional job breathing life into these already very dynamic characters. While I don’t always love steamy romance on audio, these two were an exception, and I think they enhanced all of the swoony romance packed into these 300+ pages.

I loved finally getting my hands on Rowan & Charlotte. They were so feisty and fun in their rivalry. There were some real stakes though, especially for Charlotte. I felt for her so much when things were spiraling out of control. Though I'm not trying to hold a farm together, I have had other things just all pile up and it feels like you're gonna drown. She doesn't feel like she has anywhere to turn to.
Rowan is so charming but he sure loves to needle at Charlotte. Most of the time it is all in good fun but sometimes it can be a bit too much. However, when a weekend with mutual friends lands them both in the same cabin, lost in the woods... something changes.. and it changes in some big ways.
It is still going to be hard to trust that the feelings are more than lust but watching them get closer was wonderful. The hidden parts of their relationship are obvious to everyone but them. As is so often the case. But it led to some really hot scenes.
Rowan is such a caring guy and though he has gotten a bad rap around town (mostly due to Charlotte's sister BTW), he is all heart. His scenes with his family and his niece are so touching. I was so happy when Charlotte finally got pulled into their family.. she really needed it. Though I think she got a little insistent digging her feet in at certain points.
Finally, I just have one *tiny* pet peeve and I promise, this is specific to me for a very direct reason. I grew up next to a dairy farm for 18 years... My best friend's farm. Where my dad worked for 10 of those years.. So.. there were some serious inconsistencies with how that kind of farm runs. Again, no one else needs to hold that against this book. It probably won't mean a thing to you... but we can't lose our lived experiences. haha!
I love the Whitlock Family and I look forward to the next one!

Two farmers who get stuck in a storm together and have to share a sleeping bag🤭🤭
This was fun! A sister’s ex, enemies to lovers, neighbours to lovers romance! I’ve never read a book where the two main characters are farmers and this was refreshing!
I liked that Rowan grovelled/spoiled Charlotte towards the end! I liked Charlottes characters and HATED her sister (that was the goal of the story tho lol and Corinne really did a good job making me hate the sister).
VERY curious who the next books hero will be 👀

I. LOVED. THIS. BOOK. i’m a sappy happy mess. i was consumed with everything charlotte and rowan.
charlotte and rowan hate each other. they’re rival farm owners and do everything to get under each others skin. you can cut the tension with a knife, and don’t even get me started on all their sexual tension, oh boy. they have outstanding banter and really know how to rile the other up. they may not like it, but the attraction they have for each other is electric. their chemistry is downright earth shattering, and they are so explosive together. the progression from enemies to then frenemies and then friends, and finally lovers was spectacular. i loved the deep connection charlotte and rowan formed. and when they finally put the hatred aside and saw what was right in front of them and for them to let their walls down allowing love in was truly beautiful.
tempting promises was enemies to lovers perfection! i ate this book up as if it was the matilda chocolate cake. i inhaled every page in one sitting, so freaking good. i was left swooning and smiling so hard. not gonna lie either, i was hit with the emotional punch corinne knows how to throw too. this book was just so damn fantastic. i’ll be basking in everything charlotte and rowan for awhile, especially waiting for the next book which i am jonesing for. i desperately need it. i can’t wait, i can’t wait, i can’t wait!

Now THIS is the kind of enemies to lovers I LIVEEEEEE FOR. You slayed this Corinne!! This is the third book in the Whitlock family series & I absolutely loved it. Rowan & Charolette >>>
Two farmers, one who happens to be the ex bf of the other’s sister, who have boiling hot tension between them that could make you melt. Not to mention the constant competitive nature between the two makes it THAT much better when the tension finally snaps and they give in to their temptations. These two have some amazing chemistry. And they were the perfect match for the other. For being a former playboy who was never ready to settle down, the was the swooniest & made my heart melt on multiple occasions.
The spice was SPICING, oh my wordddd. The cabin SCENES. The bar scene. I love it anytime characters are sneaking around in public 🤭🤭!! And the hat game they played, it brought a whole new meaning to wear the hat 😛
Jason Clarke & Andi Arndts narration brought it to life so well & it truly was music to my heart! Such an awesome listening experience.

This was my FAVOURITE Whitlock book, I had a feeling that might be the case and HOLY WOWZA!
If you’re looking for a TRUE “enemies to lovers� book, then search no more! I mean� these two were having arguments and were calling each other names in the middle of a spicy scene and these scenes were PLENTY omg 🔥🌶️🥵�.
Their first time confessing their feelings was literally them saying “I don’t häte you� ���
But let’s pedal back!
Rowan has never dated or had a relationship, only casual hook ups and two years ago one such hook up was Charlotte’s sister Aurora� when he said he doesn’t want anything more, Aurora spread her lies around town, saying he cheated on her and she caught him in the act. That automatically made him Charlotte’s enemy! And if that weren’t enough, Charlotte and Rowan are also competitors professionally as they both own dairy farms and vying for the same contract. So you see, standing on opposite sides everywhere these two! But one ice storm has them stranded together in a tiny cabin in the mountains for 5 days and things take an interesting direction 🤭🥵.
Rarely have I read such good banter! Both their comebacks and bickering were OUT OF THIS WORLD, inside and outside the bedroom 👀. I swear, I wanted to shake them most of the times! I enjoyed every second of this book!

Charlotte y Rowan se odian, ya que él es el ex de su hermana, la engañó y le rompió el corazón y Rowan no la tolera por todas su mala actitud hacía él.
A parte son vecinos, los dos tienen granjas lecheras y están compitiendo por un contrato que cambiaría las condiciones de sus granjas en especial para Charlotte que está a punto de perderla ese contrato es su última oportunidad.
Después de un fin de semana en las montañas junto con sus amigos, en un paseo sola. La verdad pensé que no me iba a gustar porque eso de que era él ex de la hermana no me agradaba tanto pero no tantos así.
Me gustó la historia y lo fácil que se leer.
Estoy esperando el siguiente libro porque al parecer será un matrimonio por conveniencia.

Corinne Michaels can do no wrong and I'll stay with that statement forever.
I loved Rowan more than what I expected. I love that he is totally different from his brothers and the tropes are really different from the previous books in the series.
I'm not a big fan of enemies to lovers but Corinne MADE IT WORK FOR ME!!! I loved the chemistry between the main couple and how they developed feelings for each other.
Charlotte is such a deep character and I loved to see her struggles about trust and growing up as a character.
The friend group was awesome as well and I adored seeing the couples. I can't wait for the next book - I just know it will be amazing!!

Umm. Corinne girl, the way I am obsessed with this book. Rowan is by far my favorite Whitlock brother. Enemies to Lovers? IS MY FAVORITE TROPE OF ALL TIME. You killed it with this one Corinne. I am in the biggest book slump, and it’s been a while since this has happened. Thank you so much for the ARC!

Two farmers, one who happens to be the ex-bf of the other’s sister, who have boiling hot tension between them that could make you melt. Not to mention the constant competitive nature between the two makes it SO MUCH BETTER. They are both trying to get the same contract for their farms. Once they let the attraction become more. Will it come crushing down when the contracts come to a decision? The chemistry between these two is amazing. The Banter. The Spice. This book is everything to me and I can’t wait to show it off on my bookshelf. On my way to get it as we speak.
The cabin scene. The bar scene. These will always live in my mind rent free. The way I highlighted the whole thing. Obsessed is an understatement. I couldn’t put this down. By far my favorite Corinne Michales book I’ve read so far 😊

Tempting Promises is the 3rd book in the Whitlock Family series by Corinne Michaels and this one was so much fun! This brought all the hate to love, the small town, the farm vibes (they’re both farmers), and the steammmm! It’s also a bit forbidden because he’s her sister’s ex!
Rowan Whitlock is in charge of the Whitlock family farm and the one woman he can’t stand in Sugarloaf is Charlotte Sullivan, he also happens to be the bane of her existence, so their feelings are mutual! Charlotte is desperate to keep her family’s farm up and going, but she’s about to lose it and she’s super upset because it’s been in her family for generations. There is one last chance to save it when a company wants to work with a local farm, but she finds out Rowan’s farm is also in the running.
The hateful vibes and the chemistry between Rowan and Charlotte is sooo strong and I honestly loved their dynamic! The banter and the farm, small town setting! I really liked how when they go on a trip with their friends and end up having to share a room. And then they go on a hiking trip and end up stuck in a storm and having to share a cabin together to survive. Just such a fun one! 1 and 3 are definitely my favs in this series so far!

This series just keeps getting better and I’ve been waiting for Rowan’s book and it was sooo worth the wait. We saw glimpses of the hatred between Charlotte and Rowan in the previous books and I was so curious as to how they disliked each other because their anger is palpable and you just know there is something juicy in their backstory. There definitely was, you’ll have to read this to find out 😉 Fighting main characters in a romance equals amazing banter and Rowan and Charlotte’s back and forth sniping was everything. Tension like theirs also leads to some insane chemistry and they were explosive together in the most delicious way, talk about passion 🥵 If you haven’t started this serious what are you waiting for?! SO good, I adore the Whitlock family

Charlotte and Rowan delivered everything I was expecting, spectacular banter where you could feel the tension between them jumping off the pages while also giving us plenty of cute and funny moments.
They both hate each other, but it's clear as day the spark that ignites every time they cross paths, and when they get trapped in a cabin because of a snowstorm, what was just a spark finally catches fire.
It was amazing to see the walls they both had built start to crumble, and soon enough, Rowan, who never wanted a serious relationship, let himself be the first to dive in.
The secret meetings were hands down the highlights for me. Alongside the insane chemistry, there were these sweet and tender moments that unfolded so effortlessly. Honestly, I caught myself grinning from ear to ear countless times while flipping through the pages.
I had a blast reading this book, and I'd totally recommend it.

This was SPIICCCYYYYY and I was here for it. Enemies to lovers, the I hate you so much and I hate that I want you trope. Corinne KILLED it with this one. Rowan and Charlotte were everything. The sneaking around was good. The tension was great. And they found a way through it all. Plus the epilogue and bonus scene was to die for. So excited for the final book in the Whitlock series!!!!

Listen, I give her a lot of crap (don't worry...she dishes it right back to me) but truth be told....this is my absolutely favorite of the series. I loved every single second of this book...I did audio this go round and I just couldn't get over how freakin good it was!
Basically, I miss them already! I feel a reread in my future, for sure. And let it be on record, I will take ZERO criticism on my bebe, Rowan. He was aboslute perfection and I love him with my entire soul. And Charlotte was just made for him. Listening to these two fall for each other is my favorite past time.
And let us not forget that this book was dedicated to me....so ya know....it's like kismet that they're my favorite...because they were written for me....because I'm Corinne's favorite and she cannot live without me. I mean, that's how I read it. ;)
But seriously...I love you big and how big of a smartass you are. We are the best. Congrats on this book, friend. It's superb and perfect and everything anyone could ever hope for.

I have a soft spot for a hot farmer. The sister dynamic was kind of annoying because she was so terrible. It made me question both of the main characters' judgement. The conflict was wrapped up quickly though.

I think that this story would have been a lot more engaging if there was a bigger focus on the couple being snowbound together. The blurb makes it seem like this is the dominant part of the story, but in reality it takes up very little time. Rowan and Charlotte supposedly hate each other because Rowan treated Charlotte's sister horribly in a bad breakup. But, it turns out, that didn't happen at all. Rowan is actually a pretty nice guy. Charlotte has been totally wrong about him. This could have been a great story about two people spending the time to really get to know each other while forced together through a snowstorm. It could have been interesting. But instead it seems like this was a story about two people who obviously click spending the entire book throwing out reasons why they shouldn't be together. ((yawn)) There was way too much emphasis on the physical relationship, and it got pretty boring. There was also this side story involving Charlotte and her sister that was super weak. There is tension and dysfunction in that relationship, but it was glossed over, and it seemed like it was important enough that it should have been fleshed out a bit more. Another missed opportunity.
This is book three in the Whitlock Family series. I have not read the first two books. I don't think you need to have read those first books, but there are obviously back stories involving two other brothers that we are missing. Maybe the story would have been enhanced if I knew that. As it was ... well, it was okay. Nothing extraordinary. Two stars.

Okay� so... I know I’m always saying each book Corinne Michaels releases is my new favourite, well her books continue to exceed my expectations and completely capture my heart and she continues to raise the bar with each book she writes and Tempting Promises was no different.
This is book three in the Whitlock Family series and it’s Ronan and Charlottes' story and I have been anxiously waiting for this book!
Ronan isn’t the relationship type, he would rather just have a hook-up without the strings attached. He has it in his head that love is a sign of weakness and he will be the last person to show his weakness.
Charlotte is shit out of luck. her truck has broken down, she’s had to let go of some of her staff at her farm because of costs and her sister was meant to come home and help her with the place but she’s nowhere to be seen and has left it up to Charlotte to take care of. Charlotte is doing everything she can to keep her head above water and is doing everything in her power not to lose her family farm. She’s at breaking point.
Ronan and Charlotte hate each other, they have a history long rivals between their farms and they will go to great lengths to push each other's buttons and get under each other's skin and the fact that Charlotte’s sister Aurora and Ronan had a fling a few years ago and when he said he didn’t want anything serious with her, she went around the town and lied about him, telling people that he cheated on her and she caught him, which has made enemy out of Charlotte.
It’s when Charlotte and Ronan compete for a big contract that the tension really starts to thicken. This contract could save Charlotte’s family farm and she is desperate to win that contract.
When Ronan, Charlotte and a group of friends go away to woods and cabin for the weekend. Charlotte and Ronan get stuck alone together after an ice storm hits and they are forced to seek refuge together. The more time they spend together the more they open up to each other. They end up being stuck in a cabin for five days together where their chemistry and undeniable attraction take over and they spend it losing themselves in each other.
After being rescued, things are anything but normal and they can’t keep away from each other�. And I’m going to stop right there. Will Ronan break his fear of commitment? Will Charlotte get this contract to save her family farm? What is the future for them?
Gahh!! I’m obsessed with these two! This was just an amazing read. I love the enemies-to-lovers trope when written well and this was perfection. The banter between these two had me laughing my head off through the book and the back and forth had me wanting to jump through the screen to knock both their heads together!!
The audiobook was top-tier, it was so easy to get sucked into the story and fall in love with each character.
You need to read this book!

Tempting Promises returns readers to the town of Sugarloaf. It delivered a fun and delightful enemies to lovers romance from start to finish. A favourite trope of mine, and so I couldn't wait to dive into the third book of the Whitlock Family series featuring Rowan Withlock and Charlotte Sullivan
This was such a fun read. The couple featured in this instalment kept me laughing with their arguments, most of which were filled with snarky comebacks. The level of anger between them left me wondering how would they work through their differences. Learning the reason for all the animosity between them threw me for a loop.
Charlotte's sister instigated it all with lies and manipulation. Saying I didn't like her persona would be an understatement. As you know, one has no choice when it comes to family.
Rowan Whitlock won my heart with his playful attitude, strong work ethic, and compassionate nature. The lie Charlotte's sister told caused damage to his reputation, but it never seemed to affect him. He knew the truth and that is what mattered. The lie her sister told clouded Charlotte's judgement when it came to Rowan. It took several instances of him coming to her aid for her to see the real Rowan. I am so glad she did.
Despite the animosity between them, the chemistry Rowan and Charlotte shared burned through the pages. It wasn't a matter of if they would be together, but a matter of when. Before you knew it, these two started burning through the sheets.
Tempting Promises kept me engaged with its fun storyline and delightful characters. This one is not to be missed by readers who enjoy the enemies-to-lovers trope. I look forward to the next book, which features the only girl among the Whitlock siblings.

I have found my new favorite Corinne book. I absolutely devoured this book and couldn’t put it down. Everything in this one was PERFECTION IMO. This series keeps getting better!

I am such a sucker for the enemies to lovers tropes. It’s one of my all time faves. The tension, the banter, the chemistry between these two!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥 and when they finally just say f it and give in 💥. Ugh the whole stuck in the cabin scenes!! 🥵🥵 The bar scenes!! Corinne def brought the spice in this one! I knew I was gonna fall hard for Rowan! This is the 3rd book in the Whitlock Family series and these books just keep getting better. I devoured this book and I couldn’t put it down. I loved everything about Charlotte and Rowan, the banter between the two was so much fun and the spice was so good. I absolutely loved this book and the Whitlock Family.
