I say this on every one, but to be honest, it was probably the least amount of editing issues out of all of the books in this series. This is also the last Guardians book. Although, this story continues on in The Noru Series. Which, I will eventually read.

In this book, the story begins where it left off in the last book. The shocking news of how the mother of the baby decided to protect it from being killed. The father was angry and hurt. The decision makes things a little difficult for the team, but the agreement the mother made allows her to still be involved. There is a lot of drama, secrets revealed (which is more drama) and death to a few people. There is even a battle with the devil himself (or herself as she is a female this cycle). Good wins, love prevails and everything in the world is set to right. The Epilogue introduces the start of the new adventures that will be in the next series.

I recommend this series to those who enjoy YA paranormal fantasy books. Be warned, the series does have mature content starting about halfway through the series, I believe.

This book is amazing. This whole series is amazing beyond words. If you have never read any of the books from this series read them now. They are cheap but personally I would pay hundreds for them. The characters are so perfectly written and you come to love all of them. The plot is fantastic, and the plot twists and cliff hangers, even-tough heartwrenchingly frustrating, are part of what makes this series my FAVOURITE SERIES EVER!!! I read it in one day, only a few hours, I never put it down not even to eat or sleep or go to the bathroom. I cant describe how amazing this book is in words. I cried, with joy and despair. I laughed and got so angry I wanted to throw my Kindle across the room. I have never read a more perfect book.

So if you are thinking about reading this book or the series, don't hesitate, READ IT NOW!

Okay, this review is not just for this particular book (I'm putting the same version on each book) but for every single hair pulling book in the series. I have rated the books mostly 4's and I'll stand by that because the story, had it been about something like super heroes, rather than "angels/demons" it would have been great. But...they're not. They're about...um...Lola St. Vil's warped idea of angels. Here are my MAIN issues.

1: She is obviously either an Atheist or not of a Christian religion because she actually has it that when people die, they become Angels. NOPE, wrong. Angels were created by God to be pristinely good, he created them all Male, and it is mentioned in the Bible that people do not go to Heaven or Hell immediately. They're lying in wait (something like asleep) until the day of Judgement. At that point they will either enter Heaven or Hell, but NOT...NOT NOT NOT as an Angel or Demon.

2: Even if people could become Angels, she has what she calls Originals, created by God. However they are as immature as 14 year old children. My case in point would be Raphael fawning over Miku/Redd like he was a teenage girl at a Justin Bieber concert. This was disgusting. Angels would be NOTHING but professional or they would be kicked out of Heaven. Which brings me to the next issue:

3: Angel prison? Angels on drugs? Angels having Sex? She's missing a MAJOR issue here. Again, Angels are pristinely good. There is an Angel prison, it's called Hell, and only one angel ever went there. Satan himself when he fell. Pristinely good beings would never even be tempted nor affected by Drugs. And God created all Angels, there is no need for them to procreate, and being that he created all Angels Male...it would be kinda hard to do that even if they could. COME ON!! I was ready to claw out my brain cells that had been "fortunate" to survive reading these books up to this point!!

4: What was with renaming everything/one? What in the Hell is Difi? Because it's definitely not Hell...Who is Omnis. God is God, he goes by different names depending on who is talking about him, but trust me, Omnis is NOT one of them. And why is he so powerless/nonchalant in these books? If you're gonna change the name of everything and everyone, why keep the Original's names? Gabriel, Raphael, why not call them Kanye and Fred?

She should have taken the whole "religious" aspect (and I use that word LIGHTLY) out, and instead created the Guardians to be some sort of Super Hero group. Maybe they were given special powers after they died by a race of aliens, or something similar and they were given the task to save the world from another dark race of aliens intending on ruling earth. THAT would have made every issue I had with the book be a NON ISSUE!!

But instead, Lola St. Vil had to make a complete MOCKERY of Christianity. Very disappointed...very disappointed!!

In this book and the following books she can't even remember what she said created the Quo...were they a mixture of Angel and Demon or Angel and Human? She has it both ways. And in this last book it's even worse. She doesn't even have multiple books between to allow her to forget. She says the Noru are created by parents of which one is Council and one is Guardian...Emmy is the ONLY member to make it to the Council, yet not much farther in, all of a sudden, all the Guardians children are suddenly Noru...so which is it? Are Children of Guardians automatically Noru whether one of the parents are Council or not? Or do they HAVE to have at least one parent on the Council? Which is it? It can't be both ways...GAH!!

so this one is my favorite book of the series. too bad it's on the last one that I finally completely enjoyed it. I'm hoping the noru will be as good as this last book because I sort of promised my friend i'd read all of the books from this series and the noru qualify as part of the series because they're technically the same story...
but enough of that and on to the actual book. (spoilers)
As I predicted Emmy/Marcus is a thing again... duh
what I enjoyed about this book was the lessening of the Emmy/Marcus drama. yes there was still a lot of them and their relationship and all that but this 'you need to go away so I can protect you from me' and 'he doesn't love me, or does he? this pain is too much for me!' was finally over.
the end plot was kinda predictable but still pretty good. as soon as I read Lucy had a weapon that could control people I knew Emmy would be hit by it. as soon as I read the plan Lucy had for the council I knew Emmy would intercept it somehow and be the thing that changed it to good... a little wrong but close enough.
anyway the storyline was enjoyable and wolf's punk a** self got killed (totally blame Emmy's stupidity for Amena's death) which I enjoyed plenty.
the spelling errors were still just as bad and annoying. if I can tell they're there you know you've got a problem because I usually miss those. the incorrect placing of words and general bad editing really annoyed me.

as for the part that I actually cared about was the fact that Emmy and Marcus gave their first child Reese's name as a middle name. I actually got teary eyed, he's my favorite character in the series and only Rage follows a close second, so to see him be honored in some way considering how little part his character took in the series makes me happy.
do I still dislike the series? yes.
I still believe that this world and its characters would have been better portrayed by a better author and if this book had an editor or editing company they should be fired, and if it didn't she should invest in one.
but as this is a world created by her, I will accept this and say that though I'll probably never be completely satisfied with this books I would buy them if they were sold for a really cheap price and could stand to read them again since I now know which parts to skip.

I don't intend specific spoilers. I apologize in advance if there are any. I liked the idea of the background story and the plot moved along enough to make me want to find out what happened. However, I just wanted to say that the female characters in these books were just mean...especially Emmy. I get it, she is just a kid, but poor Marcus puts up with a lot because she us always blaming him for things he just can't help. She is a lying hypocrite when it comes to that angel. Thank goodness for Rage because Ameana was just as bad for awhile. I will not continue and read the kids books...the adults were so full of anger, I don't think I could stand another generation of the same. Also, if the outer arc is big enough to smash windows in a row of cabins when she is a human....how is it possible for them to have multiple children and housing on earth now that she is a greater force than even Marcus? One more thing...keep an eye out for type-o's....there were plenty of obvious ones.

"The Nycren (Guardians, #6 part 2 of 2)" by Lola St. Vil is the fifth installment in the young adult fantasy series that continues to explore the intricate world of guardians, demons, and supernatural powers. In this installment, readers follow the ongoing adventures and challenges faced by Layla and her companions as they grapple with the complexities of their roles as protectors.

One of the strengths of "The Quo" is its commitment to expanding upon the established mythology and lore of the series. Lola St. Vil further develops the complex world of guardians and demons, providing readers with a deeper understanding of the intricacies of their roles and the ongoing conflicts they face. This consistency allows dedicated readers to continue their exploration of the well-established universe.

Couldn't put it down

I read this entire series and couldn't put it down I've read the Noru serious as well. AMAZING is all I can say. I wish Lola StVil would come out with a new serious because all of the other series I've tried to read fails in comparison. Highly recommend all of her books!!!

I can honestly say it was tough finishing the series (because I didn't want it to end) but I'm glad it turned out the way it did. I'm not gonna comment too much on the twists and turns because, to me, they were fairly predictable but the story was so good I still ended up "holding my breath" while I waited for the obvious reveal. Overall, it's a great way to end the series. I'm excited about the Noru series as well, but sadly I haven't gotten into the kids yet. I'm excited because it means I'll "see" the old characters but the daughter has an Emmy-like feel and seeing as how I almost lost interest in her story line, I'm hoping the other Noru will do what the Guardians did for me in this series - give me a reason to stay on board.

I will say I felt a little cheated when it came to the team going on the missions. There was all this hype that they were going to be so dangerous and then when the time comes, I felt like we took the easy way out. There's no anxiety filled, rapid page turning, remind me to breathe moments (for me) when we dive into the mission. Almost as if we had to focus on the romance aspect so much, we added the rest (missions) because it was supposed to be there. I think I would have liked a little more action and nail biting narration - it was almost too easy. I still felt like Bianca was a waste. I know (as you go on to read) you'll eventually understand why she even had to be there but I felt like they should have done more with her or 86'ed her character.

Here's hoping the Noru series is proofread several times!

Loved, loved, LOVED it!!! Did it end how I expected? Yes and no.

Some parts were definitely bittersweet and yes, we lost some more characters but it was wonderful to see how one easily entertained little character in particular, turned out. The twists and turns were just what we’ve come to expect from Lola and I love that I’m unable to predict the storylines. Julian makes a re-appearance as does Eta and Emmy comes to a new understanding about her father. As usual, Marcus has to make another heart-breaking decision for the benefit of humanity and you’re left wondering how many heartbreaks he is expected to survive.

It’s hard writing a review of the last book in the series without including spoilers so all I will say is this Lola should definitely be thinking about writing a screenplay for this series and I can’t wait to start reading the new series!!

So very interesting series...

I liked the series and read them all, back to back in a week. (Well some of us have to work too.) I suspect that if mrs. St.Vil had an editor, the percentage of likes would skyrocket. I know now that even if relations is not her strongest part to write, loss and grief is! And that turned the series on the sad side. Divine irony, she lost her balance.... None the less this writer has skills. I have one more point to make, when she makes references to real people, which is ill advised anyway, she has to be very careful since we readers might disagree and or misunderstand and take it the wrong way (still hoping she didn't actually want to write the wrong thing.) RE: to Barry Mannilow or Michelle Obama ... Yes I didn't like it at all. Also, nobody told you that when you finish a series there is not supposed to be a cliffhanger?

Ok for the last day or two ive read some of the things people have written about this book and I have to know how it ends.... I know I said I wasn't going to read it but curiosity is killing me.
just finished the last book and it was good, not great. I was shocked at first then as I started to read more and more I became bored until mimi died . It's like when you see a dodge ball coming for your face and you forget to duck. I wasnt really surprised when Thomas took over as the sibs soul because I could tell something was going to happen after Mimi married wolf. I liked the ending and that they are bringing the guardians back but focusing on their children. I just hope its not drawn out. I wanted to give this Three and a half stars. In the end Marcus had to kill Emmy anyway. Good read

I loved this book. In fact, I loved the entire series.
I remember having a good moan on here regarding the lack of editing that had appeared to take place on the last book as it was full of bad spelling and typing errors, et I still bought this book the second it was available.
Lola St Vil has written an addictive series from start to finish and I loved them all.
Was I happy that Marcus and Emmy ended up together?? absolutely.

I cant wait for the next series to see how their children battle it out and to see how involved the guardians are in their battles

In my opinion these books are horribly written, have many grammatical mistakes, and the the plot line is iffy. Although I have to say that the characters will pull you in and allow you to open your heart up to their problems. It has the regular romance of teens, but it somehow made me want to just keep reading. I'm subjective to female characters who are quite strong and there are plenty in this book. It contains lots of swearing, but if you can handle all the faults I would recommend it!

Great ending! (No spoilers)

It was so crazy and unpredictable but I just knew it couldn't end badly. Technically it didn't end lol. And I was so invested, I felt angry when someone died, happy when there was a victory. And it really spoke to me because I've had moments of doubt, like Emerson, about my relationship that I've been in since I was seventeen. I really felt for Emmy. And I actually learned a lot about myself.

Just Awesome!!

Totally loved the whole series so far... Wish the books were a bit cheaper though. $25 is way more than im willing to spend again especially since they are not very long books. The typos are a bit annoying and for the money you would think a better job would be done

A bittersweet end

The journey comes to a close. Our guardians' job is almost complete with their biggest challenges ahead.
After becoming completely consumed by our favorite angels, human and a demon you can't help but pray for a happy ending. But when Lucy is involved, there's hardly any happiness left.

Love this series!

I love this series i read all the Guardian and noru books. I do wish that someone would use spell check and proofread before these are released, especially when charging $4.99 a book. There were too many grammatical and spelling errors to count. However, looking past this I love the books very much and can't wait for the next noru book to come out
