When the dead rose, Ryan Maxwell planned on waiting the apocalypse out in the massive Bunker he built after winning the lottery.
In the eight months since Z-Day the Maxwell family and their friends have not only NOT stayed hidden away, they have searched the country for loved ones and taken hundreds into their safe Haven.
The discovery of electromagnetic "ghosts" directing some of the undead changed the apocalypse landscape beyond anyone's imagination. But the further discovery of science that can possibly eliminate that threat may lead them down a more dangerous path.
Now, with the possibility of helping to end the zombie threat completely, they must venture farther than ever before, and in the heart of winter. Most zombies freeze in the winter, but will the cold turn out to be an ally, or just another threat to survival?
The greatest hope for the future lies buried in several heavily fortified complexes which Ryan and company must find a way to break into.
Will the most destructive technology from mankind's past be the key to ensuring it can live-on in a world...
I'm still in love with this series and how unique the beginning of the series starts. Winning the lottery, creating the perfect safe haven with the winnings. I've never seen another series like it. Anyways, book 5 did not disappoint. Now I'm left here, hoping for book 6 to be written and released asap so i can read what happens next. Lol Thank you J.S. Patrick for an amazing story so far, and I'm sorry for your loss. If your father was even a quarter of the comedic badass of the character he represents in your series, then the world is lesser without him here.
JS Patrick never ceases to amaze me with the After Z series. I cannot recommend it high enough. The snark is so on point with how people are with family and close friends. What also keeps me coming back is the love of family between all. Plus, all the ways they smoke the zombies is experience.
I loved this book! I have become invested in these characters and I eagerly await the next book in the series. My favorite thing about this book is they are just fighting the dead. No evil humans to screw things up. The world is full to the brim with evil humans in real life. Its nice to escape to a zombie world.
I highly recommend this series. A different twist on zombie apocalypse. Writer is great at telling the story and having the characters come to life. Keeps you wanting to read more. I sure hope there is a sixth book.
The Maxwells continue to entertain. The variations on the zombies are nice compared to some other books with super zombies. They aren’t perfect, but they continue to get the job done. Great book!
