Disappointing story for the enigma of Ransom. Felt like we lost his personality that was always a key part of the rest of the series. Too much origin story and superficial wrap up rather than main relational story with banter and scenes of the main couple revealing more about his character.
This book could have been 300 pages shorter without all the repetitive conversations between the main characters, as well as all the times other characters books were recapped.
The reason the main couple were separated as teenagers was weird and over-dramatic. There were so many solutions that didn’t include being no-contact for 25 years. And the FMC was meant to be neurodivergent? She’s always described as being ‘different but acts no differently than anyone else. She’s told by her father that she doesn’t understand things, but we never see her have any major misunderstandings beyond the manufactured separation from her teenage crush. There’s no clear diagnosis mentioned, so she’s just quirky? Is that in the DSM?
Most egregiously of all: Ransom’s eye colour changed three times!!! They were blue for the whole book until they were suddenly chocolate brown, and in the bonus epilogue they were grey.
It was nice to see the whole gang in the future, but ultimately I’m disappointed🤷🏻♀

The tears that have accompanied this book. I was not and honestly still am not ready. This is the end of a series that means so much to me! Ransom is the backbone of the Brash Brothers. He sat back with his secret hamster and watched all of his brothers get their happiness. All while grieving a loss, he had no control over. Blair has been fighting Ransom at every corner for multiple books at this point as he tried to buy her garage in Badger Falls. The anger between them runs deep. The emotion in this book. The love for new characters and old. This book definitely has a more serious feel than previous books. But in all honesty. It is everything. Jenna truly did right by Ransom, and as much as I'm not ready for it to be over. I'm so happy to finally see our man Ransom happy.
So freaking good!! Perfect ending!!! I'm gonna miss these guys!!
It's hard when dreams change, but Ransom made it look good! Loved Blair and him together "mom and Dad" of this brood. Jonas remains my favorite brother! 😍
Really looked forward to Ransoms story and this does not disappoint We learn so much more about his past and how he formed his family. More shenanigans from the brothers that has you rolling about with laughter. Love the little touches - Chester the Hamster is just cute. A fabulous story, sad that this is the end of the Brash brothers but cannot wait for the new series and I suspect there will be cameos from our favourite crazy gang.
Gosh this book was eternal. It just kept going and going for far too long. It just would not end. I loved the prior 9 books. I’m excited about Connie’s grandsons MacCauley series. But there was no need for that story to take nearly 600 pages.
The last few chapters should have been the epilogues. By the Bonus Epilogues I did not want to read any more about these people. That’s saying a lot because I spent weeks talking about how great a character Mia was to everyone who would listen back in September/October when I read the other books.
Also, loved that we got a lot of Colton, Becca, Kade, John, and Jonas in this book, but it felt like Zach and Declan and a few of the women were completely missing until the last chapters that should have been epilogues.
I know people were hounding her about why it was taking so long for this book to come out, but I wish she had taken some time and edited this more for length. There wasn’t enough plot for 600 pages without dragging, repetitiveness, and a lot of unnecessary hand-wringing about the same dilemma whose solution had been telegraphed since Cara in Bree’s book first mentioned wanting her children to grow up someplace like where she and Bree did, Cadence mentioned in her book wanting a bigger rescue with more space and the earliest mentions of their unsuccessful attempts to buy Blair’s garage. By the time they first mentioned the abandoned housing development, it had an obvious solution and I don’t think the dilemma had even come up yet. So all of the hand-wringing had me rolling my eyes.
Also, I’m a girl from Chicago whose mom died when I was seven and father died 2 years before my bestie’s (who had young children) stage 4 cancer came back and I’m close to Blair’s age. If I should have connected with any of the main characters, Blair should have been the one. She’s the one that I connected the least with. There were a lot of statements about life and advice one character gave to another that I connected with, but I didn’t with Blair. And I connected less and less with Ransom as the book went on.
While I liked the book, I did find it way too long and tedious. The conflicts felt like a merry-go-round and it just kept going. Once a conflict seemed to be resolved, a few chapters later it was no longer resolved. Some seemed to be more complicated than they really were. While I like the entire series as a whole, some books were more enjoyable than others. Ransom wasn’t one of the more enjoyable ones to me and that was disappointing as his book was the one I was most looking forward to reading. Maybe it was the fact that the book seemed never ending (felt like it was 150+ pages too many) or the fact that I didn’t really connect with Blair (the FMC). Truthfully, I could have also done without the Maggie (Blair’s BFF) storyline as it didn’t really amount to anything in the end and - at times - side tracked the main storyline. Overall, it was nice to wrap up the series but I don’t have any interest in re-reading this one in the future.
The Brash Brothers series is laugh out loud funny with great romances for all the Brash Brothers. The leader of the Brothers is Ransom who finally gets his HEA. She had to be some one extraordinary and Jenna Myles delivered reconnecting him with a long lost love.
In my opinion, Ransom's story was a little bit of a letdown. I had to skim the last 15% of the book. I'm glad everyone got a happy ending, and it looks like we'll get to see the Brash family again in the next series. But honestly, I was expecting more for Ransom. I guess second chance romances aren't really my thing. I was disappointed by the lack of steam and spice- this one just didn't do it for me. 3.5 stars.
It was ok. I rounded up to 4 stars because I loved books 1-8. I honestly enjoyed the book more when the rest of the family was included. Felt like I was going in loopy circles with Blair and Ransom.
I have loved this group of brothers and their lady friends since the beginning of this series. Very patiently waiting for Daddy Ransom to get a girl. This was a second chance romance(which is my least favorite trope) with a bit of enemies to lovers. I loved seeing how the family has grown and expanded. I loved finally getting Ransoms backstory, but it was long winded at times and I almost got bored for a few chapters. I think the person you were at 15 is nothing like the person you are in your 40s so it's hard for me to see the epic love of the mcs. I did get excited reading the last chapter and can't wait for more books.
I love this entire series, but it ended perfectly with Ransom. These are all slow burn books and you will only see one to two spicy scenes in each book and always towards the end. Each man has their own issues they deal with but if it werent for the brothers, these men would be no where. Highly recommend the entire series.
I absolutely loved this series! These brothers built something amazing. They made each other family, and pulled together through the good times and the dark times. I wanted Ransom’s story from the beginning, but it totally makes sense to wrap up with his. This story was funny, but also had angst that pulled at my heart strings hard! If you haven’t read the other books, go get them! You will not be disappointed!
Nice conclusion to the storyline and to get all of Ransom’s story and experience his vulnerability. Much better editing this book than the previous few (less typos/wrong words used/etc.
Ransom Brash Brothers #10 Ransom and Blair Second Chance/Enemies to Lovers
The final book in the series. I have been curious about Ransom’s story since the very first book. And while we get all the heartbreaking details of his backstory, I struggled with parts of this story. Blair was not one of my favorites.
I loved the found family this author created with this series. Ten men, on different downward spirals, but Ransom found each one, and drug them into his makeshift family. Teaching them to be decent human beings, keeping them safe, feeding and housing, and teaching them a trade. To be mechanics. Which is where their money started coming from. Then Jonas took that little bit of profit and over the years, turned it into multi billions. Blair was raised by her single father. Learning from him how to work on cars and eventually taking over the small garage that he owned. It’s taking everything in her just to make it through each day. With her father’s death, and her best friend’s cancer returning, its all she can do to care for Maggie and her six year old son Max. The last thing she needs or wants is the offer to buy her garage from the boy who broke her heart and walked away twenty five years ago. Ransom. Ransom and Blair have a history. A young (15) Ransom, and the older (17) Blair living in the same house. Things get out of hand and Ransom is sent away. But his actions and words make sure that Blair will never look for him. They go their separate ways, live their separate lives. Until her dad visits him and makes him promise to help push her out of her comfort zone and to live a big, beautiful life. It was a very long book. The first half was just Ransom trying to make apologies and amends to the townspeople. Trying to get Blair to talk to him. I missed the brothers. I missed their dynamic, their interactions and antics. It comes in later, but it makes the first half drag. Blair drove me crazy. Everyone kept saying she was “different. She mentions having to practice facial expressions in a mirror to know which one to use with different feelings. She was tested, ADHD, Autism, etc. everything negative. She was awkward and just odd at times, and other times seemed just fine. No issues. I didn’t get it. The book could have been shortened just by taking out all of her backpedaling and changing her mind. And all the repeated thoughts and conversations. For the most part, I really liked this story. If you’ve read the series you know there are lots of unanswered questions. They’re answered in this book. Everything gets wrapped up. You get caught up with most of the brothers. Lots of weddings, and babies. New jobs, new living arrangements. It’s a very nice ending to the story. There were some editing issues though out the book and a few continuity issues, but it didn’t interrupt the story. Mostly dual points of view (there are a few others thrown in to round out the story), no cheating, no third act break up. HEAs all around. And it sets up the next series. Connie’s grandsons books.
A note about the warnings: Ransom talks on page in a memory about the death of his family and how they died. This, of course, is the reason for his deep grief. There is mention of attempted suicide, but not the “how part. Blair’s best friend Maggie is going through cancer treatments when we begin this book, and has decided to stop fighting the cancer and the chemo. I’m not going to give that away for those who haven’t read it how it turns out for Maggie, but remember that ten billionaires are involved, so there’s that. The guys all grew up in foster care and met at a group home where it was “one step down from prison, and there is usually mention of the time spent there, and the things they went through to survive. The final book of The Brash Brothers. A fitting end and beautifully written. We begin this book where Maverick’s book left off. Ransom wants to buy a garage in a small town, and will not take no for an answer, but will not say any more than that to his brothers. When an outrageous offer is made, and is turned down in a SPECTACULAR way, Ransom decides it’s time to go himself. After not setting foot in the town after 25 years, and leaving in a way that ensured he wouldn’t be welcome back, he isn’t sure of the welcome he’ll receive, by the town or the girl who’s had his heart all these years. His first encounter with the town is a cow that drives him off the road into the ditch, requiring the help of the girl, which threw his plan out the window of her not knowing he was in town just yet; she’s the mechanic, and tow truck driver. When he is gone for more than a day, and had said nothing to his brothers about it, of course they have to go and make sure he’s okay, in Brash Brother fashion, by stealing a band tour bus and converging on the small town to make sure everything is okay. They are good in small doses, they can be overwhelming to anyone who doesn’t know them, but they sure bring the laughs. They aren’t afraid to laugh at themselves, and will do anything (even if it’s illegal, they were all “thugs and hooligans growing up, after all) for the people they love. Based on “mentionings at the beginning of the book, certain events I saw happening, mostly because of reading all the previous books, and knowing how these boys are.
It was a great book, with tears and laughter, as has been the theme to Jenna’s books.
Ahhh. I don’t know how to rate this book. I adore every character in this series and every book. This book has a lot to tackle and did it well, it just wasn’t a typical romance to me.
It was more focused on Ransom’s back story and his growth to be able to reach out to Blair, than the romance between the two of them.
💕no third act break-up 🗣️no miscommunication issues 🫣 no OM/OW drama. She has a hook-up partner but is upfront about it. It doesn’t cause issues. 👩🏻🤝👨. Mature characters - Random is 40, Blair 43. He’s obviously a billionaire with a broken past; she owns a garage that was run by her father. She and Ransom were in love as teenagers (15, 18) until Ransom left suddenly, breaking her heart. 🏡. All the crazy found family is there 🧨. This is a long slow burn, but without much build up or spark. It’s takes until about 80% before they’re together. 👥. Dual POV, HEA for them and the entire series; a beautiful wrap up.
Random has a truly tragic back story with his real family involving a fire that killed everyone but him. He wound up at Blair’s house when he was 12 - her dad was an ex cop and the perfect person to mentor him- after several failed foster families. They fall in love over the 3 yrs he’s there, but due to their age difference, he leaves. It’s super dramatic and difficult, but I’ll let you read about it. They don’t see each other for 25 years.
Anyhoo, prior to his death, her dad asks Ransom to buy the garage to give her freedom to explore and live her life. She resists and Ransom is finally forced to go and see her. As expected, he never wants to leave.
The rest of the story is figuring out how to make their worlds fit together. His life and business in Chicago and her life in a small town. There is also a whole - in my opinion, unnecessary and sometimes cringy - side story with her friend’s cancer battle and young son, Max.
It was a very satisfying ending to the series, but I wish the balance has been slightly different. I wanted to feel the emotional connection between Blair and Ransom and I just only got glimpses of it at the end.
However, I could honestly live forever in this universe and can’t wait for the new series.
Quote: “The sincerity in her voice makes my throat tight. "I am happy," I insist, but it sounds weak even to my own ears. What does that even mean, happy? I like my life. I love the people in it. Why can't that be enough?
Tropes: Second Chance, Found Family Contemporary Romantic Dramedy
Triggers: (List from author’s note): Underage relationships/ statutory rape concerns, Cancer/ Terminal Illness, Death & Grief, Accidental Death Discussions of parental loss / abandonment, Physical abuse/ domestic violence, Suicide/ suicide ideation, Childhood trauma/ foster care. I’m also adding a warning for anyone triggered by spicy scenes and/or language. Kade and Becca Dixon manage some of the most creative uses of the F-word I’ve ever read. I loved that, for the record.
This book was a whopper, both physically and emotionally. The length is double the lengthiest of the prior nine, but despite the trauma experienced by any of the other brothers, Ransom’s is the worst; the heaviest. And even though there are Myles comedic moments, such as when the family decide to borrow a tour bus and all ride out to Badger Falls and Kade says, “We ride at dawn, motherfuckers! The comedic isn’t as prevalent.
The first 75% is information heavy, needed details, but not as easy to read as the more light hearted situations of the previous nine books. But it’s worth slugging through the first part, watching Ransom and Blair work through twenty-five years of trauma and pain. I believe even without my history with the Brash Brothers, their characters and those of “the women and children, were written dynamically, drawing the reader into their stories. The dialogue is natural, adding depth and emotion.
I’m going to miss the fun anticipation between books, and I hope to see these in the new series, whose debut is scheduled for later this year. Movie rating is R, cover is 4/5, overall is 5/5, romance 4/5, violence 3/5, and spice is 3/5. Note, although adult themes and language is used throughout, the actual graphic spice doesn’t happen until nearly 80% of the story.
This final book in the Brash Brothers series took us, the readers, into places that I doubt many would have guessed we'd go.
There was SO much detail, and I loved every single one of them, as each was revealed.
Reading the viewpoints of both Ransom and Blair, plus a few others of Ransom'''s adopted Brothers, I was quite often both laughing in sheer glee, and crying in sorrow - both at one and the same time, as Jenna expertly wouned her story in a twining labyrinth of joys and sorrows.
I've loved every single book in this series but, this final one, telling Ransom and Blair's story. - plus the most excellent bonus short story that came after it - was the piece de resistance of this series.
I rode a real rollercoaster of emotions throughout, and finished utterly exhausted - but still wanting even more! Lol
Fortunately, Jenna will be starting another series this year - 2025 - which, she says, in her Author's Notes, will be following the Brash Brothers' neighbour and friend, the Steel Magnate, Connie McCauley, and her grandsons' stories, so I'm very much looking forwards to reading them, as they are released!
But, now that I've finished this series, I need to start reading another one, among the hundreds, if not thousands , of books on my Kindle Fire.
My problem, is deciding which one to start with next - one of the problems of having too much choice, I guess! Lol
Well, I've had a good look, and have decided to read all the books that I have, by Renee Jagger, who I discovered through hee co-writing with Michael Anderle.
As I don't know where to start, I'll do so from the beginning, which is her series: 'Werewitch', with Book One: 'Bad Attitude'.
Once I've finished this, I'll catch you on the flip side, to let you know what I think about it!
Ransom is the father figure for the Bash Brothers. Steady and stable, Ransom has always put his family first and knew the right things to say to keep them together. That’s why it’s odd when he starts sending offers to buy a random garage in a random town for much more than the site is worth. The owner, Blair, seems dead set on keeping her garage and keep the past in the past.
I don’t love a second chance romance and this one especially didn’t do it for me - the main issue for the couple was that she was 17 to his 15 so a sexual relationship would, rightly, be statutory rape. The father of the FMC put all this pressure on the MMC but didn’t tell the FMC how she could get in trouble??? Then she has a best friend dealing with her 3rd bout of cancer (stage 4, terminal this time after a bout of chemo and discussions on options where there really is only expensive and exclusive clinical trials to MAYBE keep her alive) and decides it’s time to just enjoy her time with her son and the FMC and MMC decide to call her selfish and yell at her? Nah. Maybe I’m sensitive after having just read a book where someone wrote from the perspective of a woman who died of cancer and really made you consider the beauty of life and the struggle to make the decision to fade, but this just rubbed me the wrong way. I love a happy ending and always want them in my books but this was a little ridiculous. I think I’m maybe extra disappointed since it’s the last book in a series I truly enjoyed and it just didn’t hit the mark. Also, let’s not refer to children as ‘delicious, okay? Kinda yucky.

Honestly I was disappointed with this wrap up of the series. We all waited for Ransom’s story but it was so long winded and repetitive that it got frustrating. At one point I actually checked the chapter count as I felt like I’d been reading forever but my kindle said I was only at the 42% mark.
The whole background story was a bit far fetched. Take a traumatized kid and give him more trauma and break your own kid’s heart at the same time instead of having an actual conversation with them? WTH? Blair’s dad was a cop at one point and should have been able to do that but instead, didn’t trust that his own daughter would understand that their actions could have consequences.
Then the whole Maggie storyline, making her seem selfish for doing what she thought was best for herself and Max. Then miraculously Ransom to the rescue. Honestly it would have been more realistic if she’d have died. I’m sure it just sets up her own story with one of Connie’s grandchildren.
A lot of the big changes you can guess well before they happen so the whole drama between Ransom and Blair seems not so dramatic about ‘how will they overcome living in two different locations?, even with him just having purchased a new building. But, the biggest thing was just all the repetitive stuff; so must was repeated over and over again. It needed more editing to take some of that out.
Some characters got more screen time than others, that was a little disappointing. Wasn’t really sure what was happening with them all in the epilogue either. Got a little confused.

I only discovered the Brash Brother series last year, and now I’m sad to see it come to an end. I have never laughed so hard or cried so much in a series before. Each one of these characters is truly amazing.
Waiting for the Ransom book was definitely worth it; it provides an incredible conclusion to the series. The guilt that Ransom has carried for so many years, and his fear of telling his brothers, is truly emotional. When he finally broke down and shared the whole story about his family and the woman he has loved since he was 15, it was heart-wrenching.
Blair is an extraordinary woman who deeply loves her best friend, her nephew, and her small town. She was hurt and angry at the one man she ever loved, so when he finally returned for her, she was uncertain about her feelings.
This book was an emotional rollercoaster throughout. Normally, I can finish a book in one sitting; however, this one took me two. It really illustrated how family shows up for each other in both good times and bad, and definitely through the ugly moments as well. While I’m sad to see this series end, it reflects how much the author makes readers love the characters. I’m looking forward to the new series that is starting later this year, hoping that some old favorites will make an appearance—fingers crossed!
Thank you, Author Jenna Myles, for this amazing series!
I’ve been addicted to this world since book 1. This is the best version of a found family and 10 books explore each aspect of it.
This one is no exception. Random is the one that started it all. The “head of this family. The man that has held it all together and made all the pieces of the puzzle fit.
He’s also the one that has struggled the most with facing his past and fighting for what he wants and needs.
Blair is the one that got away. They loved each other when they were younger and were forced apart. She’s lost so much and still fighting for some. She’s not willing to deal with Ransom or the past. Until he steps up for her in all the ways that she didn’t know she needed.
Jenna knows how to write an amazing story. A story that you buy into and a family that you love. I smile and laugh in every book. I find myself learning something little to help brighten someone’s day. I also cry. Investing in these characters is so easy. It’s so wonderful to see them fight and win and equally as devastating to watch them face some hard lessons or bare themselves to each other.
Through all the struggles and wins this family fights. They fight hard for each other everyday and always find their way back to each other.
One of the best series I’ve read to date not a bad book in the bunch. Highly recommend!!!
Honestly, I was disappointed. I agree with other reviewers that this needed edited for length...there were some repetitive parts. Ransom and Blair's origin story just didn't make any sense. Her dad is supposed to be great with a foster kid who can't communicate well, but he can't communicate with his own daughter? And then he further traumatizes the kid with a whole heap of trauma already? And then no one talks to each other for 25 years?
Also, the cancer storyline REALLY bothered me. Not that it existed, but the way that Blair and especially Ransom responded to Maggie's decision to stop treatment. Stopping treatment with stage 4 cancer is a totally valid choice, and her rationale made sense. Ransom of all people should have been understanding, but he even says that he doesn't actually care about Maggie, just that Blair is sad, which feels out of character for him. But for him to tell Maggie she is selfish, repeatedly, was just cruel. Maggie wasn't selfish, or a coward. She was a mom, making the best decision she could for herself and her son with the information and resources she had available to her.

Ransom is the last book in the Brash Brother’s series and definitely did not disappoint. Ransom’s past has been a huge mystery up until this book and I’m so glad we got all the blanks filled in, even though they were heartbreaking. I absolutely love a friend’s turned lovers, second chance romance and Ransom and Blair’s story did not disappoint. I cried pretty much through the whole book. The additional story line of Maggie and her cancer journey hit very close to home, minus the miracle, and was very well written. I’m excited to see if she ends up being one of Connie’s grandson’s love interests in the next series. I love the glimpses into the brother’s future’s living on the family compound and the fact that there’s 2 empty houses makes me think we will definitely be seeing more of them in future books, especially with Connie’s request for Ransom to try to purchase her company. Sad this series is over. The brothers are such fun, loveable characters to read. Excited for what comes next!

What a hell of a way to end a series. OMG Ransom's story was everything you could want from a book. Talk about an emotional roller coaster. We got his complete background in a heart wrenching story. Blair his one and would always be his one was one tough cookie. 25 years she was left broken hearted when Ransom had to break it off with her. I'm not even going to tell you how it came down. Trust me when you read this you'll go thru a range of emotions like never before. I loved how his brothers rallied around him, I loved that all of them and their significant others were protective of him, I hated that for 25 years he kept a secret buried so deep it could have destroyed him. I am sad that he an Blair don't want to have at least one child together. Yeah I know their older but still. I feel like they've missed out on so much and I'd love to see them have their own child.
Even though this series is 10 books you'll read it over and over that's how good it is. Don't forget to grab the bonus scenes.
I’ve been looking forward to Ransom’s book since he was first introduced in Kade’s book!
Ransom’s past has always been mysterious and shrouded in secrecy - even his brothers didn’t know much about his past. Getting into his head, seeing how he thinks and learning what he’s been through made me fall in love with him. This man carries so much weight and puts so much pressure on himself to keep his family together.
Blair is such a fun character! She’s unapologetically herself and has had to be so strong for so long. When Ransom reappears in her life, she fights him. He’s hurt her so much and she doesn’t want to give him the chance to hurt her again.
I’m not usually one for second chance romances, but this is one of my favourite books of the series. These two talk and learn to communicate and support each other. Ransom grovels and steps up to be there for Blair when she needs him most and Blair gives him a safe space to find shelter in. It’s such a beautiful romance!
Now that’s not to say it’s without the usual Brash brother’s shenanigans, because it definitely is! I cried laughing at the bus scene, the skunk, the overalls and Ransom’s secret hamster. This family is so beautiful and I’m sad to see the series end, but so happy to see where they all ended up!
I can’t wait for the new series - grandma Connie isn’t playing around and it’s going to be so fun!
I was really waiting for this story but that's also means the last story of the Bash brothers,,! Ransom had to be the last story,if he was the first of the bunch it wouldn't made since.I felt so bad when Ransom didn't have a woman by his side like the brothers did but when Blair came in the picture and explained where she fit in Ransom's life it was ok.Blair was a bit older than his froster brother and I could understand why and what her father Robert did to protect his daughter and Ransom when they were younger but you can feel the pain that Ransom went thru plus what he thought he did to his family earlier in his life.It explains why he is such a father figure to the Bash Brothers and also when the women and kids came along.Im glad that Maggie didn't give up on life and Ransom gave his gentle push.I could go on and on but you need to read Ransom nice and slow, you don't want to miss anything!
The final book in the Brash Brothers series and Jenna Myles decided to take us all on the most emotional journey. My heart just feels exhausted.
Ransom, the leader of our brothers, is the only one to not settle down and find the one that completes his heart. Turns out, he left his heart back in Badger Falls many years ago with Blair. She was her foster sister and his first love, and she HATES him. We finally find out what exactly happened between the two of them 25 years ago & wait to see if they can ever repair what was broken.
The biggest lesson that is gained after learning about all 10 brothers is that of family. The one you are born into and more importantly the one you choose. Maggie & Blair’s relationship was so beautiful and her fight even more so. My heart just ached for them both.
The ending was perfection and the icing on the cake that was his series. I’ve loved these books more than I can say.
