Loyalty has always been important to me. I never thought I would see the day where I would have to choose between family and loyalty. I never thought I would see the day where I held a gun to my son’s head ready to pull the trigger for the woman I fell in love with. A nigga had skeletons like most people did, but I never thought I would see the day when they revealed themselves. I promised to protect Ella and her family, and a nigga never broke his promise. Especially not when it came to the woman, I loved. I knew he had the power to make me feel, but he has also had the power to break me. To pull my heart outside of my chest and stomp on it. I knew falling for a man like Capone came with more than I was ready for. He wasn’t feared for no reason. Timmy never meant Jaiden any good and I knew it from the first time I met him. I’ve never wanted someone dead as much as I wanted him dead. Timmy needed to go, and I didn’t care how he went. As long as he wasn’t breathing. Capone put it on his life that he would always protect me and mine. It was time for him to put the action behind the words.
IKYFL!!!! And yes I know that’s how I stared the last review but shiiiiiii Jahquel plays too much with these cliffhangers!!!!!
That cliffhanger from book one had me stuck because whatttttt!!! Chyyyy I was looking at folks sideways 🧐😵💫 I’m glad Jahquel isn’t dragging out these storylines for days and is giving us the answers to our questions because my anxiety couldn’t take it otherwise. The truth shall set these mfs free or put them 6ft under 🤷🏽♀
The roster is still full to the brim with ain’t 💩 🥷’s and 🐩es 🫤😒 like FULL FULL!! The math was mathing and Trilla and Tasha seem to be the common denominator of the foolishness going on in this book.
Naheim and Capri what are yall doing?!?!!! 🤦🏽♀ I’m sick of both of these mfs..Erin, sis you definitely dodged a bullet!
Alaia 🧕🏾 I’m intrigued and can’t wait for that storyline to blossom more!
That entire Barbados 🇧🇧 trip had me like 🥰🥴😳🤯🤬😤🤡🥰🥹😍🥳
If it’s one thing Trilla gone do is leave a 🥷 when he gets arrested to fend for himself! How he still has a “team is beyond me!
If it’s one thing Erin gone do is smack a mf in the face. Ma’am ima need you to keep your hands to yourself 🫠
We love an intentional man and Capone has been in👏🏽ten👏🏽ti👏🏽nal!!!! I love this man real bad!! Like the way he’s been showing up and showing out for Erin and her family is everything! The man said his actions would speak volumes and baby they are real loud!! Just when I think he can’t top himself he does!! And that twin already showing us a glimpse of what he’s capable of. The series should’ve been named “To be loved by a Delgato 😆 because when these men love, they love loud and proud! Gimmie 15 of em 😅
Book two continued with the same pace and momentum as book one. Capo began to mellow Erin out and she became a bit more trusting. Still a lot of twist and turns with a hell of a cliffhanger at the end. The grammar was bad in the first book, but I was so into the story that I was able to overlook it, however It was more frustrating in book two. There was also a lot of repetition throughout the story, still a good read though.
Jahquel J definitely knows how to leave us with a cliffhanger! Absolutely loved the growth in Capone from book 1 to book 2, in regard to his love life.. A lot of likable characters and whole lot of unlikable ones! I am definitely hoping to see Trilla, Tasha & their seed unalived or at least brought down a peg in book 3. I feel worse for Timmy as he is the neat adult child in the situation, but how can you turn out with possibly parents turn out with parents like this??.. I am excited to dive into book 3!
Ummmm sooo I don’t have the words! This was suspenseful and thrilling and bodies were dropping left and right! Tasha and Timmy are insane and I just can’t believe what they are up to. Nahiem and Capri are annoying BOTH of them! And I very much still love Capo and Erin’s love story! I just wish they could catch a break! My goodness! I need some understanding of Raiya situation cause that seems off. I hope Jaiden gets the closure and healing he needs in book 3! I’ll end this here with Ella is so stupid and desperate that it is going to be her downfall, unfortunately! Let me get into this book 3 cause my jaw is still on the floor!
Ehhhhhh, this didn’t work for me as much as book one did, but it sure was messy. Erin started to get annoying in this book. I am all here for your independence, but she keeps doing risky things or does things to benefit everyone’s feelings around her, and that is not what they wanted. I was not expecting Capri to be cheating back, I will tell you that. A lot of relationships for sure crumbled in this second book, but for some reason, I did not want Erin to get pregnant. I am glad Ella was not coming with a lot of drama and kept her comments to herself but Naheim fitting the bill for Tasha was just some low low shit! Now, Capri, you know any man you cheated on Naheim with would be a problem and vice versa, but you two just had to pick people who run in familiar circles is just asking for chaos. You wanted protection from Kincaid when he couldn't even have protection himself, and you had to play Cleo from Set It Off. Smh, take you ass in the house. Still enjoy Capone and Ryai know she is wrong. She moves funny behind a man too many times for my liking. Book two was just okay but I just need Capone to start letting rounds off.
P.S. I knew punk ass Timmy was not dead. At this point Capone, I got a list of characters you can kill. Start with Timmy, Tasha, Sarge, Trilla, and Ella.
I’m really hooked! I love that this series so much . . . I can’t get enough! I’ve read great books but this series may be my favorite! *grabs popcorn and starts book three*
Ok where do I start?? I can’t even write a full review on this one. This series got me in a chokehold! I’m low key obsessed with this Delgato family at this point..
I’m so hooked, it’s crazy.
These cliffhangers are not fun at all. Smh good thing the next book is available, no need to wait!
Baby, this book was good and now I’m over her hollering because now we need another follow up to this ending!!! Trilla out here setting every single person up for failure while he sit back in the cut scared!!! Tasha needs her wigs sent to the back because she out here just trying to turn everybody’s world upside down!!…Her and Trilla need to be with each other for real!!! Capone is really setting a trap and Ella so far removed that she opened her door to the mess!!!…Im so happy Capone keeping Lil Capone with him!!! Jay will be ready when Timmy make his appearance because again, Capone is setting the trap!!! Capri is going to see some mess off in this restaurant because Ella and Tasha think Capri is going to keep sitting in her soft girl season!!!.
You know sometimes a second book in a 3 book series can drag and not really move the plot along.well let me tell you this.NO DRAGGING IN THIS ONE. I’m so stressed out, so much happened and the plot twists OMG. Starting book 3 RIGHT NOW..Jahquel J. has a fan in me. I’m invested.
The author was right when she said this is a slow burn. I’m still waiting for some excitement in Capone and and his fiancée relationship, there story is so boring. The only reason I stay tuned to this story is because of Capri and Nahiem’s relationship. They’re story is so much interesting. I rated the story a book because I don’t like reading about young innocent children being killed. It’s too much of that in real life. At least allow them to have a fairytale ending in a fiction.
The MOTHA BEEEEEEPPPPPP cliff hanger!!!! WTF!!!! I'm literally EVERYWHERE!!!! Now Jahquel J., why you got me out here speechless. I'm waiting on baby test results, Timmy discussions, Trilla ugh disgusting, new baby.... Ella just continues to piss me off. OMG am I ready for part 3? Whew this book got me up at 1:30 am refusing to close my eyes and now I running like Forrest Gump trying to get to part 3!!!
I must say part 2 really brought the drama. I hope Erin baby is fine. She deserves a win. Capone still treats her like a queen. I love the way he loves her. Will someone give Tasha a birthday party, asap. ( If you watch Kountry Wayne skits, then you know what I mean). When will Cap get out? Good read.
I wanted to make sure I read all 3 books before coming to give my review. I will be reposting this on every book
Please note I picked this book up 3 times to start Theo’s journey with the Delgato Family. At first I thought it was just my mood reading issue and I wasn’t in the mood for the book even though Black Urban Crime Families are hands down my guilty pleasure.
Blurb: Erin is the survivor of the murder suicide of her parents. She becomes the guardian and provider of her little brother. This story follows her journey of easing a teen brother while living in the hood, struggle and finding the ultimate love from a forbidden source it’s a journey getting to that tho
After completing book 1 I realized it wasn’t me and my mood that couldn’t process this first book, book 1 simply just didn’t grab me. I was at 59% of book one and my head was hurting I felt like it was a constant repeat of the same scene over and over. It wasn’t until 89% of Book one that the plot started to form. I can’t speak for everyone else but for me that’s entirely too long to captivate someone to keep reading 2 more books. But there was the cliff hanger and that alone forced you to book 2 bc now you are invested bc you spent 350+ pages waiting on them to get to the point.
In Book 2 the pace picked up and more and more drama started to unfold. However the book again was on a constant repeat of words. Many new plots, secrets, and twist were revealed but I felt like I was waiting and holding my breath for them to get to the point of bridging the gaps, so here we are at 75% of book 2 before things start to finally make sense, and plots start having a bit of closure but that cliff hanger yet again held you in the grips for the next book.
Book 3 was where things finally started to take shape and it was less taking and more action! This is where I finally saw the depts of each character the lessons learned and the sacrifices from everyone mentioned! This is where I fell in love with Capone, he was about ACTION in book 3 something flipped in him and everything you new he could be he became when the threats of his family were in the balance. The female characters strength and resilience were put on page and the relationship building and character development was phenomenal.
I will end with saying this. Patience is needed to truly enjoy this series bc the repetitive banter in books 1 & 2 were exhausting, book 3 was much much better but now I’m trying to decide if I want to go on this journey again with Cappadona
I ended up skipping several pages and I could still follow the plot easily due to the amount of repetition. The drama is good and since I made it this far I’m going to stick with the series.
