Hollow Point #3

Playing with Love

Rate this book
Tucker Mitchell was the one who got away. Not that he knew he’d plagued my dreams for the last decade. A run-in here, a run-in there, kept those fantasies alive and well. Or maybe it was the memory of the night we gave in to our attraction, only to come to our senses the next morning. A moment of weakness for both of us. Our lives were too complicated—we were too complicated. But ten years later, I couldn’t get him out of my mind and now I had to work with the former DEA Agent. Not only that, we were going undercover as fake husband and wife. Professionalism wouldn’t save me—not when I was already in love with a man who I couldn’t have. But my past could—I’d hold on to all the heartbreak and keep myself safe. Tucker was a means to an end—nothing more. He couldn’t be.

ATF Agent Liza Monroe was the very definition of bad timing. From the moment I laid eyes on the woman, I knew letting her walk away would be my biggest regret. And over the years, those regrets compounded as our lives remained out of sync. I thought I had my shot—going undercover is the perfect opportunity to remind her how good we were together—only to find out she wasn’t the same feisty, open-book, beautiful woman I’d met. She now had thorns and walls, and the harder I tried to break through her boundaries, the harder she pushed back.

Unfortunately, life proved our luck hadn’t changed and bad timing took on a whole new meaning when I finally put a few cracks in Liza’s armor just when she caught the attention of the ruthless cult leader we were after.
Liza or the mission?
The choice should’ve been easy, but just like everything else with us, it was anything but.

Playing with Love is a second chance, friends to lovers romantic suspense with a closed off heroine who fights to keep her heart intact against a hero who will stop at nothing to win her. Be warned, Tucker takes fake dating to extreme steam with his dirty mouth and persuasion.

As a hugely rabid Riley Edwards fan, it pains me to do this. But I'm giving this sticky, hot mess of a book 2 stars. It pi$$e$ me off to do it, too.

Sweet Baby Jesus, RE is such a great writer. Her words fit together and flow into paragraphs with practiced ease. The dialogue is always believable and character appropriate. I love her plots. The military vibe is cool, and most of the time, it's understandable for readers without military knowledge.

But this story went heavy on the angst, and it just didn't work.

For at least a third of this story, i hated Liza with a red hot passion. The continual self flagellation, self-hatred, and repetitive recycling of all that made me want to scream. I almost DNF several times. It was that annoying. Once the story got mostly beyond that, it was your basic awesome RE read.

I get the back story of a rotten childhood, crappy parents, cheating exes, and poor decision making. What I don't get is almost 200 pages of woeful whining that felt like 2,000 pages. That could have been handled in a smoother, much shorter way by such a skilled writer. Why it wasn't is a mystery that I don't care to solve, but heartily wish didn't happen.

I wanted more of the love story. I wanted more love in drama form and not therapy notes from Liza. I wanted more hot sex. I wanted more of a story and less telling of a story. I want the action. Don't tell me the bad guys got arrested later at a gas station. Show me. Don't give me ONE action sequence surrounded by mostly personal angst and a smattering of sexual teasing. Boo for me, because that's what this reader got.

RE has set a very high bar for a long time. I read several books a week and have for decades, and there are very few authors that meet that bar as she has. She is the only author I pre-buy from anymore. All the others have fallen by the wayside. Several of her more recent stories have been a stumble, and this one is too. For the first time, I'm not pre-buying the next one. I want to wait and see if any honest reviewers can share enough to determine if it's worth the read before I buy. That is super depressing.

Playing with Love❤️‍

Tucker and Liza’s story is a great, emotionally charged read❣️

Liza and Tucker have been friends for years. One night they crossed the line but walked away from the other and since then have been “just friends. Now, years later when they see each other again, they both have different opinions about what happened and it’s finally time to put any misconceptions to bed, no pun intended, and move forward TOGETHER🥰

Can’t wait for the next book🙌

I don’t really know where to start because this is Tim’s story (#iykyk) and it’s a story that I’ve been waiting for so long and now it’s here and I read it in almost one sitting and I absolutely loved it and of course it made me tear up because it’s not just Tim’s story it’s the sweet memories of discussions about Tim (and so much more) on a Discord Channel a while back with Queen Becca and Riley and many other avid readers of Riley Edwards.

…ok. Let me start again. This is Tucker’s and Liza’s (his Lizzy) story.
“Us. One word that packed a punch. It also said everything it needed to say.

A strong friendship that turned into something more and then life happened, parents happened, bad timing happened and after a decade we are to the now with two people fighting for their HEA.
Their story is emotional, angst-y, full of action, humor, found family, mushroom dirt ahem, sorry, I meant mushroom tea, real coffee and the amazing characters from the 707 series and universe where it all begun
This book is fast paced and it will make you turn the pages like a person attached to a coffee IV. You are going to love Tucker, he’s a unicorn of a man unique! Both Tucker and Liza have a job to do and a lot of emotional unpacking There’s a Greek saying that more or less says that the sins of the parents, keep troubling the children. This story made me think of this saying a lot while reading it. “It’s their life but it bleeds into yours.

“Playing with Love is book 3 in the “Hollow Point series. I personally believe it’s better read in the suggested order because it will all make better sense and well, you really need all these amazing characters in your life.
Thank you Riley for this book, for your words, for Tim

“When I was done, I was going home to you even if home was a phone call.

5 🌟 Great Book
3 🌶 Got pretty spice there, Tucker
5 🫠 On the "getting to the good part" or Build up

Oh the longing! My gosh, this book broke my heart with the longing. Ten years! Ten years, Tucker and Liza have been trying, and the angst in this book. Riley generally doesn't do a lot of angst, but this one is located in the heart of Angst City, deservedly so. But this was also one of Riley's books that genuinely let the characters be flawed. Miscommunication is tied to self-preservation and the broken spirit of a woman who has spent her life believing she is unloveable despite all her achievements. Liza is a perfect example of how we all can hide in plain sight. I read this in one sitting. I got it yesterday afternoon and didn't stop (except for football championship breaks) until it was finished.

I am not giving the plot away, but I have to tell you that I had tears in my eyes as I finished this book. Once again, it reminds me of how much I love these characters and how thankful I am that this community of family that started in the 707 series is still going. Lennox Carter, you are the man! This is well-paced, with an involved story that fits perfectly with our characters and their field of expertise. The TC crew provided backup, info, advice, and hugs. The first half of the book is the angsty part. Tucker has his work cut out for him, but it's all beauty (as Riley wrote for him) when he gets the message across. The second half flies by, but it's suspenseful and action-packed. And for those of you who are Riley aficionados, you will be taken back to several different series with this book. I loved every second!

Just read the book!

Thank you, Riley Edwards, for the eArc.

This was a great read. It is always so good to go back into the TC world with Riley Edwards. The Hollow Point series brings us a new set of guys and gals from the TC world. Tucker Mitchell, Tim to most of us, was someone we wanted more of and our wonderful Riley delivered.
Tucker was an undercover DEA agent and shown up to help rescue quite a few heroines.
Liza is ATF called in to assess whether or not a witness is credible in a case she's been following for a while with her crappy lazy partner. They have been called to Georgia. She is waiting for an expert to arrive at the police station to help with the questioning, bless it she just doesn't know that her world is about to come apart. Liza feels the questioning is going downhill fast as she looks on; the young lady should not be in an interrogation room for starters. Then the detective isn't reading the room per say either. Liza knows this is going nowhere fast. So she goes in to chat with them. It's going pretty well til she feels danger, and in it walks in the form of Tucker Mitchell. The man who got away per say.
Liza and Tucker will have to work together to help Allyson with the things she saw at Nu Dawn and figure out who killed her friend, where the drugs are being made and just who is in charge at Nu Dawn.
Poor Liza has a lot of baggage that she needs to sort out with the help of Tucker, Lennox and learn just what it means to have and be a friend. Such a great read, there's drama, danger and fun along the way. You can't go wrong with a Riley Edwards book.

Tucker and Liza

FMC: Liza Monroe, ATF agent
MMC: Tucker Mitchell, former DEA Agent
Spice: 🌶️🌶️
Pages: 326
Tropes: Second Chance Romance, Right Person Wrong Time, Fake Marriage, Friends to Lovers, Romantic Suspense
Setting: Hollow Point, Georgia

Thoughts: I really enjoyed this book. The tension built without me really realizing it until I couldn’t put my kindle down. It really focused on the relationship between Liza and Tucker more than the spice. They knew their physical attraction was there so it was refreshing to have a couple who wanted to get their minds right before getting swept up in a purely physical romance. I also liked that it was Liza and not Tucker who needed the extra time and effort to realize what had been in front of her for a decade. I loved the cameos of characters from other series, especially the dinner between Lennox and Liza.

The undercover/suspense plot was equally well written. Despite how short their actual time undercover was, it was exciting and extremely intense. Not only did it give Liza a chance to wrap her head around how her childhood was holding her back, but it also allowed Tucker to understand all the hesitation she had. Lennox and Lilly really showed up for Liza in the end and I loved the way everything played out. Liza finally got the closure she needed with her parents and was able to find her way to the life she always should have had.

I really enjoyed this story and it’s a great addition to the series. I’ll admit it took a minute for me to get into the book, but once I did, it was fantastic. I absolutely loved Tucker and everything he was doing within his abilities to prove to Liza that she was perfect for him and worthy of love. Liza was a bit much for me in the beginning but the more that was revealed about her and her background, I started warming up to her and was really rooting for her to overcome her insecurities and truly believe what Tucker was telling her and give him a chance. It was also great to see her becoming more a part of the gang as the story progressed.

I loved all the cameos from characters in other series, especially Lennox Carter and Lily. I thought the bond that Liza formed with Lennox and their chats, including his weigh-in on her and Tucker’s relationship were wonderful. It was a family forged by a bond rather than blood.

This book was full of tension and angst with a side of romance and an explosion of action later on. It was more focused on the overall relationship rather than the physical - overcoming the past and moving forward together with a mutual trust and understand to build something solid and forever. Overall, a great read and I’m looking forward to the next in the series.

I've been reading Riley Edwards books for a long time. Her stories are known for their angst and action. Playing with Love is loaded with angst but it takes awhile to get to the action. ATF agent Liza Monroe has had a long relationship with former undercover agent Tucker Mitchell (aka Tim). Tucker has appeared throughout several of Riley Edwards stories and I've always been curious about the enigma that is "Tim". Tucker now works for Hollow Point and when Liza's current case intersects with Hollow Point, he finally decides to make his move. A decade ago when Tucker was in his mid 30's he wasn't in a place in his life to make a commitment to Liza so he let her down easy. In that time she moved on with her life and career. She married, divorced and still loved Tucker from afar. Now Tucker is in his mid 40's and finally ready to commit. The problem, Liza has lost her trust in Tucker and her faith in her own judgement. I'm not sure why two middle aged people have this much angst in their lives but that's Playing with Love. So as Liza and Tucker work a case together, they also need to work on moving forward to build a relationship together or end their long distance friendship completely. See? Lots of angst! It was told from dual POV and has all the heat that we as readers have come to expect from a Riley Edwards story.

YES!!! Tim has a book, the undercover agent who was there for Chelsea books ago, finally we get his story and WOWZA!! Tucker aka Tim has joined Triple Canopy and his past collides with his present and her name is Liza, an ATF agent. They are working together to bring down a drug and arms dealer and are going to be faked married to get into the camp. Tucker has been in love with Liza for many years and Liza feels the same but it was never the right time and the last time they were together, Liza ghosted him. Now two years later Tucker isn’t going to lose her again, she is his, but Liza doesn’t believe she’s good enough and unloveable and keeps pushing him away. The stakes are high going undercover and unless Liza wakes up and lets go of her past, the mission will tank and she will lose the only man she has loved.
A great read that kept me flipping the pages and I LOVED the role reversal, Tucker is all in and does all he can to get Liza back, breaking down her walls piece by piece until finally he gets through.WOWZA. His Lizzy will do whatever it takes when the stakes are high and Tucker needs her to be the bad a*** woman she is, and not leave him behind. The story flowed beautifully with amazing characters and the ending left me with a smile from ear to ear.

I swear Riley Edwards has a direct line to my emotions, because Playing With Love didn’t just tug at my heartstrings—it ripped them apart and rewove them into something brand new.

Tucker and Liza’s story is the definition of emotional torture in the best possible way. A decade of longing. A love that never faded. And now, a mission that forces them into playing pretend—except every glance, every touch, every moment between them is anything but fake. The push-pull, the history, the heartbreak—it’s the kind of angst that hits deep. But what really got me? Liza’s walls, built so high and so strong, and Tucker, determined to scale every single one of them.

This book gave me everything. A heroine who’s been through hell but still stands strong. A hero who loves fiercely, unapologetically, without conditions. And a romance that burns slow, then fast, then completely out of control.

Action? Check. Suspense? Check. Emotional devastation followed by absolute bliss? Check, check, check. Tucker and Liza are going to stay with me for a long, long time.

"Playing with Love" is a masterfully crafted second-chance romance that will leave you breathless and yearning for more. Tucker and Liza's story is a beautiful, poignant exploration of love, loss, and redemption.

With its expertly woven suspense plot, this book had me on the edge of my seat, wondering what would happen next. The undercover mission added an extra layer of tension, making it impossible to put the book down.

What truly sets this story apart, however, is the depth of its characters. Liza's tough exterior and vulnerable interior made her incredibly relatable, and Tucker's persistence and devotion had me rooting for him from the start.

The supporting cast, particularly Lennox, added a delightful touch of humor and warmth to the story.

Overall, "Playing with Love" is a must-read for fans of romantic suspense and second-chance romance. With its perfect balance of action, emotion, and steam, this book will captivate you from start to finish. Loved it!.

Tim’s book! Thank you Riley Edwards for telling Tucker’s story and thank you Queens Becca for reminding her she had too 💕.
Special Agent Lisa Monroe ATF and former DEA Agent Tucker Mitchell were complicated, more than complicated, they were friends, one night made them lovers and the reality of their jobs meant their timing was never right. For Tucker the time is right now, after 10 years of regret after he let her walk away he has inserted himself in her case and he fighting to tear down her walls. He is the one that broke her heart, the one she has loved for years and the one she can’t have. Liza has a lifetime of heartache, insecurities and fears, her walls are so high and hidden deep, Tucker is in for the fight of his life to show Liza what love really is and that she absolutely deserves to be loved.
Oh what a story and through every moment I was rooting for Tucker and Liza but I think I visited every single emotion during that time, it was quite a journey and absolutely worth it, you will love it.
Thank you for for giving Tim more, making him one of the good one’s, for making him Triple Canopy and giving him Liza Munro and showing her what love really is.

Another great story from the Triple Canopy Family

Hey there, wonderful reader! Get ready for an exhilarating adventure as Agent Liz Monroe finds herself going undercover with none other than Tucker (TIM)—the one who slipped through her fingers! Despite their past, her feelings for him have never faded. Now, they’re stepping into a thrilling game, pretending to be a married couple on a mission to take down a cult. How exciting is that? Will this be their chance to rekindle the spark they once had? And can Tucker finally break through Liz’s tough exterior?

We also get the fabulous Lennox Carter weighing in on their relationship, and let me tell you, it's classic Lennox—filled with his unique charm and wit! This story is a whirlwind of fast-paced action, suspense, and emotional ups and downs, all wrapped up in danger and excitement. Plus, we get to hang out with lots of our favorite characters again! Buckle up for a fantastic ride! 🌟

Absolutely loved this!

Riley Edwards books always have me on the edge of my seat just trying to guess how it’ll all play out. And this one was just as good!

Liza & Tucker have quite the history with one another that leaves these two almost always at odds with one another. But when they are tasked with working together on a case, they quickly find out that trying to put that past behind them is impossible. Well at least for Liza, who has had a past that has left her never feeling enough or lovable.

But Tucker is doing everything in his power to prove to her that she is lovable & perfect for him.

But of course danger arises & the lengths these two go for one another is just ::chefs kiss::

I was definitely hooked from the very beginning & despite the back & forth between these two, I was so dang happy when she womaned up & believed & trusted in Tucker.

Such a good book & loving this series!

Amazing job!

Tucker makes his first appearance in the Riley Edwards Triple Canopy world in Tainted, Matt and Chelsea's story. I hoped and prayed "Tim" would get his own book and those prayers were answered!
Pairing him with Liza, an ATF agent from his past, was genius, as we delve more into his personality and what kept them apart for all those years, while also connected through a friendship he couldn't share with anyone else.
Liza isn't as happy to see Tucker as he is to see her, but clearing the air between them at the very least is something she desperately needs. Falling in love with him again, is inevitable.
Tucker and Liza were two of my very favorite characters from this, and the previous, series surrounding the owners, family and friends of the Triple Canopy crew. The appearance of Lenox Sr and his and wife Lily's interactions with Liza touched my heart! He's my favorite of the OG heroes!. This was more than a 5 star read for me!

TIM gets his HEA!

TIM (IYKYK) aka Tucker was an undercover DEA agent, he now works for Triple Canopy. He has been in love with Liza for 10 years, an ATF agent who we all know as the one person who can yell at Phoenix Kent and get away with it (besides his wife) . Liza is a kick a$$ agent who has serious childhood trauma to overcome. Tucker and Liza have spent 10 years misreadings each other and not communicating. Basically, they both had their heads up their behinds!

Thrown together undercover to take down a new drug ring/weapon dealer they FINALLY get it together! Not going to give spoilers because Riley sends you on a wild ride of psycho parents, new age communes, our fave TC operatives, a fabulous twist at the end that is GIRL POWER AWESOME, and the sweet HEA they both deserve. I wasn’t able to put this one down until the end. And there a lot of “WTF Riley??? along the way!

Read this book!!! 15/10 recommend!

So much of the start of this one was Liza and Tucker working out their issues from the past as they were now forced to work together again on a new case. It didn't help that lots of their issues came from other things in their individual pasts that they had never dealt with. But with the help of old and new friends, they were able to work through things a good thing as the case heated up. It sucked that a chance of bad luck almost ruined the case and so much more. It was a good thing that Liza didn't wait and did what she needed to and had a someone good at her back to help.

Loved seeing how everyone had Liza's back when her issues came calling and Liza laid it out and while it's good she got those words out, you know nothing is going to change there, so it's good she has new people to take on those roles.

The ending was great! Loved seeing these two happy and building their lives.

TIM! That’s all that needs to be said for this review. I have been curious about TIM since he was first introduced in the Triple Canopy world. Sorry Riley, but Queen Becca was right on this one. He immediately grabbed my attention and I wanted to know more. You gotta stop giving them names 😂

Playing With Love is exactly what I wanted for Tucker’s story. It was absolutely perfect for him. I was not expecting Liza and their backstory but getting that glimpse of their past makes you ache for all they went through. When Tucker finally lays down the truth and forces Liza to confront the fact that he loves her and even more, that she is worthy of love, will have readers clamoring to claim him as their new favorite book boyfriend. And the way he defends Liza from her parents…yes please. He is alpha, swoony, protective, and just jaded enough to be realistic. I loved him for it. Thank you for such an amazing story that lives up to the man, the myth, the legend of TIM.

Playing with Love

Wow! Another great story by Riley! This story is about Liza and Tucker. Didn't realize this was a bit older couple but still basically a second chance romance story. To me, Liza is a strong woman yet she didn't feel like she was worthy of anyone. She had a very unstable childhood because of her parents. Tucker was already in love with Liza the first time they met 10 years ago but it would take Liza a long time and tragedy to see that people love her and she could love too. The bad guys were a bit unexpected since they were from one of Tucker's previous cases. It took Liza a lot of strength to get Tucker to safety with the help of an unexpected friend. Now that the case they were working together finally was closed, they worked on their happy ending. FANTASTIC job Riley! I would highly recommend this book!

Another gut wrenching read. But first, the dedication made me cry. I was feeling every emotion and I was only 30% into the book. Where else could this story take me. It took me on an exceptional journey and I loved every minute of it. Lenox was an exceptional father figure to Liza and he truly was a girl dad. Every single time you purchase a Riley Edwards book you get a story that you can be immersed in. The characters that Ms. Edwards creates are flawed, genuine, are family centric, and love hard. I'm always thinking about her stories well after I've finished reading them. Whenever I can, I will always re-read her stories. If you have not read Ms. Edwards before, you need to start, and then you'll be hooked like I am.

Tim finally gets his book and it does not disappoint. Playing With Love is very emotional and you may need tissues. It is heartbreaking and heartwarming and will give you a glimpse of a woman made to feel she was unlovable by her father. Tucker, aka Tim, has been best friends with Lizzy for years but she’s a runner. Lizzy works for the DEA and Triple Canopy are working a case together and the two are reunited. The two are going undercover as a married couple to infiltrate a cult they suspect are manufacturing drugs and weapons. Things are going to be rocky because the reunion didn’t go quite like Tucker imagined. I loved this one and couldn’t put it down. There is action suspense, drama friendships formed and someone learning she is worthy love.

Seriously one of the best books I have read!!
Playing with Love is such an incredible read and seeing Lenox at his best brought out the memories of the OG of TRIPLE CANOPY!!
This book has you turning each page but not wanting it to end.
Tucker and Liza's journey was filled with such angst, love and trauma and even with their vulnerabilities they were tough to their core. Tucker did not break in his stance to show Liza her true worth and she dug deep to finally believe that Tucker was worth everything!
A second chance at love, intermixed with suspense, intrigue and characters that we have grown to love! It's like going home.
The dedication at the beginning of the book is everything!
Thank you Riley for another wonderful installment!

Loved this book!

I loved this story of Tucker and Liza! They have been friends for nearly a decade. Then two years ago, something happened and Liza pushed Tucker away. Now they are working together on a case, as a married couple, and sparks are flying. I love how Tucker cares for Liza. When he realizes how her father treats her, he shields her and ends his wrath. I love how Lenox and Lily take Liza into the family. I live Liza coming out of her shell and making friends with all the Triple Canopy girls. I love this book and series! I highly recommend! I can't wait for the next book. You really can't go wrong with anything written by Riley Edwards. She is the best!

Playing with Love is the third book in Riley Edwards' Hollow Point Series. This series is so good! It's great getting to catch up with some familiar characters from the past. And now we have TIM (IKYK)! Tucker has appeared as a side character in a couple of other series and was so interesting that Riley just HAD to write about him! We've met Liza in past series before also, and she is awesome! She's a take charge woman who is very smart. But she has hidden low self-esteem issues, and I think a lot of people will relate to her - I know I did. Their love story is a about second chances and not giving up on that one person you know is your one and only. I really loved this book and how emotional it was. Have tissues ready!.

Tucker and Liza are made for each other! Although it seems they sure took their time to figure that out! Tucker has always known Liza was the one for him, but in the beginning, he wasn't sure he was ready for that. And Liza has always known Tucker is the one for her but when she believed he didn't feel the same, she ran. Now they are forced back together to work on an undercover assignment where they have to pretend to be husband and wife. Can Liza get past her insecurities to be hones with Tucker and get a second chance? Can Tucker see past all the roadblocks Liza tries to put in his way to see that he is exactly what she wants too? Throw in some explosive danger and you don't want to miss this one!

While Playing With Love has suspense, bad actors, drama and danger, Riley Edwards digs deep into some highly charged emotional issues; self worth, being worthy of love, familial sabotaging and trust in the love offered. I was profoundly move by some of the conversations that were had between characters. I also shed a few tears as highly dramatic events unfold near the end of this story. Tucker and Liza's relationship history is lengthy and deep but subject to misunderstandings, miscommunication and bad timing. Both are guilty of jumping to unwarranted conclusions. However, fighting for what is meant to be wins the day. This is an extraordinary love story that will satisfy your heart.

Playing with Love is a Must Read!

Loved this book. We have met Tucker in previous Riley Edwards books but now he gets his story. This book has all the feels! Both Tucker and Liza grown up with family issues. But what Tucker didn't realize was how deep Lisa's family issue cut into her. They are now both working a case together. Can Tucker and Liza work through their issues and keep each other safe to get their HEA? This book was like coming home, with Lenox, Lily, Carter, Jason,Matt, Nick, Lauren, Chelsea, and Trey all there at TC having Tucker and Liza's back. I highly recommend it! Can't wait for the next book!

Everyone needs a Tucker in their life!! Holy smokes! Liza has loved Tucker for years. But she only knows that love hurts. So instead of facing that hurt, she runs. Tucker has always love Liza. He let her go once, but he won’t do it again.

When they have a chance to work together on an undercover job, Liza is determined not to give in to her feelings for Tucker. Tucker sees a way back into Liza’s life. She fights him hard, but he finally breaks through her tough heart. But will this undercover operation end them before they can even start?

This is a story of love and resilience! Of finally realizing you have found the one and fighting for a life deserved!! Amazing!

Another great read from Riley Edwards, and this time we get to know Tucker and his love Liza. It was great to meet up with the Triple Canopy crew again and it made me want to start all over again with the 707 series. This book is a great story and also delves into the lasting damage childhood trauma can leave. In Liza’s case the trauma has been lifelong and Tucker’s thoughtful and deliberate way of helping her overcome is part of what makes this book so good and that is all Riley Edwards genius.

Spoiler alert…….

The scene where Liza and Ally are pulling Rucker out of the basement and Liza can’t bear to check his pulse will stay with me forever.

Liza is tired

Riley Edwards writes great female characters, they are always bad@sss. Liza and Tucker have been friends for years but two years ago she walked away because she wanted more. Now they are trying to infiltrate a cult for drugs and guns.

Liza is tired, that bone weary tried that comes from always being the only woman in a man's world. This is described so well, there is not a woman who can't relate.

If you like a good romantic suspense, you can never go wrong with any of Riley's books.
