He pushed her away for someone else, now he’s desperate to bring her back.
“What exactly does it benefit me to announce an orphan as my wife?
When he is married to Ana Cross, Mason Nightingale always cold-shoulders her.
Ana has been in love with Mason since she was a little girl and he held her hand to bring her inside his home. She loves him unconditionally, that is, until one day he leaves her to die without looking back.
Only then does she realise she means nothing to him.
“Mason Nightingale, I don’t want you anymore, Ana says to him. Hearing that, Mason’s cold stare falters. For the first time, the icy man shows an expression of panic and fear.
From that moment on, Mason spoils her rotten. Little does anyone expect, it’s the beginning of their end.

I don't know if I missed some of the warnings, but just in case I did, for anyone wanting to read this. This story contains physical, emotional, and mental abuse as well as graphic violence and non-consensual acts.
This is a story of a man trying to "protect" someone he supposedly cares about so his father doesn't hurt them. How does he go about this? By raping, abusing, manipulating, and lying to this person.
There is detailed descriptions of Mason initiating sex with Ana while she is asleep, the precious interaction they have was her asking for a divorce, so I feel confident that the consent has not been decided "off screen"
He drags her into his car, drives out into the middle of nowhere, then violently throws her to the ground and drives off... what the fuck? How is this romantic?
She ends up in hospital no less than four times because of his actions! This isn't hot, it isn't sexy. Mason is an abusive rapist who desperately needs help.
If this is the type of story you are into, that's absolutely fine. But there should 100% be warnings before it

Yeah no, don't let the blurb and author's note fool you, this book DOES contain cheating He's had a mistress for years, he never gets physical with her but he's always out with her, on dates, buying her things and choosing her over and over again at the expanse of his wife And his mistress is also his half sister 😂
I thought this would be a silly little book where the mmc fucks up and the fmc makes him pay like Raiden and Jane's book but no this book is not it. Not only does he cheat for years he also abuses her physically and i mean he hits her and she ends up on the streets or in the hospital, he also rapes her on several occasions.
I have so many issues with this book. 1- who the fuck allowed this to be published. it's like a 13 year old discovered wattpad and has written their first book. 2- if you have to ask a woman "did you come?" the answer is no dear. 3- it's abuse....not dark romance, dub-con. this is straight up abusive behaviour. she says no a million times and he just carries on. seeing as this isn't written as a dub-con/non-con it's concerning. 4- the sex scenes are horrendous 5- her friends are shit 6- no back story 7- whose fucking pov is this in because the author can't decide!
This is abuse, not romance, be careful There’s no cheating but honestly I would prefer a cheat than an abuser She is about to die three times one of them from malnourishment, he makes her sick but for real she is dying because of him it’s triggering so be careful
The author and her fans made a good job on social with a lot of reels that lead a lot of people here ,like me, and that’s ok, but you need to understand where you’re going to trust me, the mistress “he had is the least of my problems here
A lot of triggers about mental health, heavy abuse, domestic violence, humiliation, kidnapping, suicide and all the things you can imagine
The end is a little meh for me More dark romance than anything It has its audience but not for me

Ok what the hell. He treated her badly and every time chose sarah because he wanted to "protect her" he left her with her kidnapper to "protect her" and he fucking left her in the rain not once but twice and who in the hell stab himself in the heart and doesn't die. Like i am not against dark romance but this is bullshit and it doesn't make sense and dont make me start talking about the manipulation he did to her evertime she wanted to leave

This book is an absolute must-read for anyone who craves an emotional, passionate romance that will keep you captivated until the final page. The narrative centers on Mason Nightingale, a billionaire with a carefully guarded heart, and Ana Cross, a determined woman striving to rebuild her life after facing a series of heartbreaking setbacks. Their paths cross when Ana unexpectedly finds herself in Mason’s world, and what begins as a chance encounter quickly transforms into a profound connection. Together, they confront secrets, trust issues, and an undeniable chemistry that neither can resist.
As the plot unfolds, readers are swept away in a storm of intense emotions, tender moments, and high-stakes drama. Ana battles to remain true to herself while Mason grapples with the challenge of lowering his defenses to reveal the man beneath his wealth and power. The tension between them is sheer perfection, blending just the right mix of angst and steam that will have you turning the pages into the early hours.
What’s the Emotional Tone?
This story is an absolute emotional whirlwind. There are moments that will make you laugh, times that will bring tears to your eyes, and plenty of instances that will have you wanting to toss your Kindle in frustration due to the undeniable tension between Mason and Ana. The push and pull of their relationship is electric, and experiencing their love story feels like traversing a spectrum of emotions all at once.
What I Loved
Mason is the quintessential dream male lead. He embodies that alpha billionaire appeal, yet he’s so much more than just power and control. His vulnerable side peeks through, making him feel authentic instead of a flat archetype. His deep caring nature struggles to find expression, adding weight to his moments of vulnerability. Ana is a force to be reckoned with—resilient, intelligent, and fiercely independent, yet you can feel the scars she brings into this relationship. Her journey of growth throughout the story is truly inspiring.
Their chemistry is absolutely explosive—it’s a blend of fire, longing, and tenderness. Every interaction, whether filled with conflict or quiet intimacy, conveys the depth of their emotional connection.
What I Wanted More Of
While the overall narrative is stunning, I truly wished for more intimate, quiet moments between Mason and Ana. The high-stakes drama is thrilling, but a few additional scenes focusing on their bonding would have created a perfect balance. I wanted to witness them let their guards down in those subtle moments of connection.
Rating: 4.5/5 Stars
This book is so close to perfection! The characters are rich and multidimensional, the romance is gripping, and the pacing is spot-on. The only factor keeping me from a perfect 5 stars is my desire for more soft moments where the characters could connect without the external chaos. Still, this is undoubtedly one of the best romances I’ve read this year.
Who Should Read This?
If you’re a fan of billionaire romances infused with heart and just the right amount of steam, this is the book for you. It’s ideal for readers who appreciate a strong, independent heroine and a brooding, protective hero willing to go to any lengths for the woman he loves.
Who I’d Recommend It To
This is a must-read for enthusiasts of emotional, angsty romances. If you enjoy love stories where characters must confront past traumas and their own defenses to find fulfillment, you’ll fall in love with this. Highly recommended for anyone who cherishes fiery chemistry, unexpected twists, and characters that linger with you long after the last page is turned! 🖤
I saw this book on instagram and was intrigued to see if it was as interesting as it seemed, but I noticed the bad rating. Now I would saw this book has potential, but the storyline and characters were all over the place and I couldn’t tell if the sex scenes were rape or not with the way they were written.
Mason and Ana right from the start confused me, it seems like Mason hated her, however, then it quickly switches up because he can’t keep his hands off her, BUT he has a mistress, Sarah, who treats Ana like dirt and he allows it. It becomes clear that Mason is obsessed and in love with his wife in a demented way and Ana loves him as well, but it’s all twisted; and sex scenes give rape, I wouldn’t even call rough. The way it is written it sounds like Ana is pain or asking for gentleness and he powers through with what he likes; he even says at one point towards end, when they are happy and together, wouldn’t be nice if she bleed during sex.
There is so much going on this book, it was hard to follow, but essentially Mason treats Ana like crap because his father is psycho. He allows others to treat like, makes fun of her, and basically destroys her spirit, but it’s okay because he loves her, no else can have her because they belong to each other and Mason has plan to keep her safe and finally free themselves for the danger of his father.
The plan in my opinion was so stupid because all he had to do was tell Ana the truth and the plan would have stilled worked. Then things get even more crazy we have: Ana divorces Mason, Ana gets kidnapped, Mason has to chose between Sarah or Ana to live and he chooses Sarah, Ana refuses to be raped so she stabs herself in the heart, Mason goes back for Ana but is too late, Ana doesn’t die, Ana has 2 months to live, Mason doesn’t know, Mason kidnaps Ana from the hospital, Mason proposes to Sarah, Mason reveals the truth on live TV about his father and Sarah (his father murder his mother and Ana’s parents and Sarah is half sister), Ana dies, Mason loses his mind, Ana didn’t die, Mason learns the truth, Mason gets Ana back, Mason refuses to leave her alone and essentially wins back her love.
The book was insane, I enjoyed that Mason learned from his mistakes, but he was just too much and Ana needed more of backbone. The minute he laid a finger on her she was done for and Mason seemed to get what he wanted when he wanted. I really enjoyed the few moments when he didn’t get what he wanted.
In the beginning he was absolutely horrible for someone who claimed he did all that to save Ana from his father. I would love to know how was locking her out of the house in the cold pouring rain until she passed out that she suffered an illness and needed medical attention because he got jealous, protecting her? Or when he left her in the restaurant on her birthday waiting for him but he took Sarah in joyride and didn’t come back for hours and when she wouldn’t forgiven and asked for a divorce he drove her to the middle of nowhere in the middle of the night and left her there then drove off, is considered a loving gesture?
The resolution was too swift and easy for all the problems he caused.
Also, I should note that yes Sarah was his blood related sister, but he never touched her in any way, he learned of his dad’s plan right from the start.

This review is slightly different from my others. I have been jotting down notes periodically as I read this. The fact that there are so many, in this case, is NOT a good thing.
Hmm. 2 pages in: she's already a super doormat and he's a giant dick. And also inferring that he has cheated on her. Not a great start. Why is she putting up with this for even a moment, much less 3 years of marriage? I'm already hoping she drops him and walks away for good. Up to page 13: He seriously kept up his relationship with someone else through their whole marriage?
He seems like he cares sometimes, but is so clueless as to why she does what she does. Mason is just stupid. How can he not see how terribly he is treating her, and yet he expects her to want to stay with him? He uses sex to get his way. When she keeps talking about leaving, he forces himself on her every time. Sure, she enjoys it eventually, but she has said No repeatedly, which he ignores. Someone needs to explain to this guy that orgasms doesn't equal trust. I'm at page 76, and so far, this book is reading like him repeatedly raping and sexually torturing his wife in order to get his way. These sex scenes are not entertaining.
Sarah is just way too over the top. He behavior is more high school than anything else. Honestly, most of the characters' behavior is. She has a "mean girl" vibe x1000. At this level it is just immature.
So, I'm about 33% through this book, and if there isn't some serious groveling from Mason in the future, I will seriously remove a star. As it is, I am not a fan of him repeatedly using sex to get his way. He is an abusive rapist, and I honestly don't see how he doesn't understand why she wants to leave him. How else is she supposed to get past all this?
As harsh as it seems, Mason totally deserved all the Hell he lived through after her "death". He finally got a taste of just some of what she went through with him. I'm at 83% in now, and he still uses sex to get his way. He doesn't listen when she says no, and steamrolls over what she wants. I started to feel for him when he was so devastated at her death, but he's walking all over her again, now. I am back to not liking him. At least now there isn't the girlfriend that he kept dropping her for sitting around. It honestly makes me giggle when he gets upset over all the CEOs sending her gifts and trying to court her. He was with Sarah and giving her gifts all the time while they were Married, and now that they aren't married and someone else sends her a gift, he gets upset? Nope, you did worse than this to her. Deal with it.
OK, I'm done with the book now, and I gotta say... he didn't deserve her at all. She caved and went back to him. I don't understand how he could not see what he was doing to her... for 3 years. There was really no growth for him at all, he didn't earn her back. This whole book was frustrating. I even lightly skimmed through the sexy times because it just wasn't good.
I will not read this again, nor recommend it to others.

It’s alright. I really hate not finishing a book so I powered through it. It’s a bit like those stories on the pay per chapter apps. Especially since she “died but then was whisked away to another hospital to have a heart transplant and she lost her memories. Also there’s a few things that annoyed me. Like this quote: Mason looked directly into Jackson's eyes. “Your greed is so deep that you planned to marry me to Sarah? We are god damn step- siblings!"
-for someone who went to Harvard he should know that if his dad and step mom are the secret parents of Sarah that wouldn’t be step siblings it would be half siblings.
-Dude is like .05 seconds away from putting her in a pit and demanding she puts the lotion on her skin or she’ll get the hose again.
-Where the hell did Sarah and him drive to while she stayed at the restaurant for hours on her birthday?!? You don’t tell someone “wait for me I’ll be right back. And leave them for 5 hours, well actually 6 because he showed up at the restaurant an hour after she left to go home. Oh and when he finally brings his behind home he’s got lipstick on his collar. Oh and when she tells him she wants a divorce what does he do? Drag her to his car and drops her off in the middle of nowhere wearing a thin nighty in the middle of a rainstorm knowing full well she’s terrified of being abandoned ya know because her parents passed away when she was a child!!!!! Do you really have any right to be so mad after you stood her up on her bday?!?
-dude picked Sarah over Ava and she was almost SA’d and to ensure she isn’t taken advantage of she takes a sharp thing and put it in her chest cutting her heart. Yeah sure, he came back for her later and got injured but he chose the woman who staged the whole kidnapping and was wanting Ana to be beat and SA’d. He let the victim get injured.
-making her strip in front of everyone at a photo shoot? Bro you’re lucky her father is 86’d bc if he was alive he’d probably introduce you to his 👊🏼. Mister “oh I’m so protective and possessive over you but idc if you let everyone in the city see you in your under britches!
Ok I’m gonna get off my soapbox and give it like 3 stars bc it’s good but definitely could be better. Also, needs to be checked again for errors.

Devoted Billionaire’s Unstoppable Obsession by Ava Selwyn is the first book that I have read by Ava. Congratulations on publishing your book and allowing me the opportunity to read your work.
Summary: Mason is a billionaire brought up in a very privileged, but unloving home. He is married to Ana who was adopted by his family when she was young after her parents died in an accident. Mason and Ana are married for 3 years and it’s not a loving relationship. He has a mistress that he prances around, while Ana is consistently looked down on and hidden from the public. Ana believes that Mason only wants her for smex, but she wants more from him because she actually has loved him since they were younger.
As the story unfolds, we find out that Ana’s perspective of their relationship is sorely lacking as Mason keeps a lot of information from her for her protection. The sacrifices that he has made because of how much he loves her is seen by the reader, but not by Ana. When she finally finds out, is it too late for them to mend what they had? Or do they have to start over?
Spice level: 🥵🌶️🌶️🌶: Lots of smex scenes, not short
Conclusion: This story sucked me in from the beginning. Immediate spice. I was intrigued by the characters already being married. The author integrated their pasts into the story well.
Though the story did suck me in, I did have some hang ups while reading. I addressed these to the author and she was very sweet and gracious (love this kind of author)✨💜✨
Recommendation: If you like a lot of spice then I recommend this book. I know that a lot of readers don’t like cheating, but I suggest that you keep on reading😉.
Ana and Mason in this book were straight-up iconic 😩. Like, if my future husband isn’t pinning me against a wall, promising to ruin my life with his obsessive love, and giving me no choice but to: a) let him worship the ground I walk on b) submit to his crazy devotion c) try (and fail) to escape his grip ✨then I don’t want it.
Mason is the blueprint for devoted, y’all. This man is too busy obsessing over Ana, plotting their forever, and making sure she is always safe. Toxic? Maybe. Perfect? Absolutely. 🥺 Honestly, where can I find a man like him who’s got billionaire money and time to memorize my coffee order and my deepest fears?
Not gonna lie, I started this book thinking, “Oh great, another alpha billionaire, but Mason had me hooked by chapter 1 when suddenly he went from showing ‘i dont care attitude to secretly going back to beat up a man for her within 5 minutes out of the blue!. The chemistry with Ana is 🔥, the twists are WILD, and the way their story unfolded kept me glued to the pages. Plus, the side characters? Stella, Triston, and Raiden are ALL loyal and goddamn funny.
This book had me laughing, swooning, and screaming at my Kindle. If you love obsessive, over-the-top devotion mixed with drama, tension, and some seriously heart-melting moments, Devoted Billionaire’s Unstoppable Affection is EVERYTHING.
It was so bad. I skipped chapters just trying to go faster and felt like I missed nothing. It's basically bad fanfiction of 'my mom sold me to one direction' levels. Also, it really felt like it was originally a bad Chinese webnovel. I've read many of those, and there are indeed so many good ones. But there are also bad ones, and this reads like it. The details, the culture, it feels so Chinese trashy webnovel coded. They were just shy of actually saying 'filial piety', but the themes were there. Especially in the 'villain take down' and again in the epilogue. Then there's the billionaire owning everything, including hospitals. The bad vocabulary that probably came from a machine translation issue. The 'weakened heart', The 'heart disease syndrome', The 'two months to live', The miracles of coming back to life secretly. The badly staged kidnapping. The secret children. The ploy for gaining more 'company shares'. Bruh the plot so bad.
Also. The male lead was nuts and not even just in a dark romance yandere way. Just nuts. It's not 'possessive', the man is crazy and abusive. He is chemically imbalanced and she is physically unsafe with him. On a good day, he is already like two steps away from unaliving her, drinking her blood, and wearing her skin so that they could be together forever.
If i could i would have given it negative stars....i am an avid dark romance reader....i have read about the worst men obsessed, psychopath men who had no morals, who won't even hesitate to kill children or women...I have read about worst possible circumstances, worst heartbreak....there isn't a type of kink and warning that fazes me....i would tolerate anything and everything considering i am a fan of killian carson and zade meadows but i am also a fan of rhys larsen ad atlas corrigan, the men who knew how to treat their women....so coming from such a person who have read worst morally grey men...i am telling that Mason doesn't even count in the category of fictional men.
He is a rapist, abuser. the only one thing that gives me ick is cheating or any relationship be fake or real with other women. you are telling me you fucking protected ana all these years. have some sense mason...he could have told her in private....
my blood boiled the when i read how he left her, how he had sex even when she said no....NO MEANS NO....he left her to die why? because he was confused who sent those men? you are fucking kidding me man...
this book enraged me...i read books to escape from reality, fictional men are hyped up because they aren't like men in reality but mason was a mean from reality....
no amount of words or curses could justify my hatred for this book....
What in the wattpad did I just read? I don't understand how the author tried to redeem the guy just by saying that he was trying to protect the fmc and that he was never in a relationship with the mistress because the guy abuses, humiliates and insults his wife, not only infront of people but also when they are alone, throughout the book. So it is done because he is trying to protect her from his father excuse is bullshit.
The mistress quite literally said that she won't sit in the same seat that his 'disgusting' wife sat in and the guy changed the car???? Excuse me?! You could protect her and still not allow people to disrespect her. And what is with showing all the dirty laundry at the wedding? If he knew about it from the start then why did he not tell everything to the fmc or atleast speed up the process and handed the culprits to the police years ago??
And to top it all off, he is sexually abusive too. He kisses her harder when she pushes him away and initiates sex only to leave when his 'mistress' calls. There is literally a line where he says "I know Ana was upset but nothing I did was meant to hurt her" or something like that and I was like bro your response to your wife asking for a divorce was to remind her that she is uneducated and will be homeless when she leaves you and when she finally got a divorce you said "Okay. Get lost." Idk what was going on tbh

I started the book with high hopes for the storyline, but couldn't get myself to read more than the first 15% of the book...
Firstly I feel like the writing is off putting and it doesn't really bring you into the story.
Secondly even though I know from the back of the book, that the book is kind of a second chance romance, the husband is too much of a red flag: - He forces himself on her more than one time (she enjoys the sex, but before it she shows with her body that she doesn't want it; pushes him away turns her face) -> I've read a lot of dark romance books and also some with non consesual sex, but in those most authors show zhrough their writing that the sex is fine with the FMC. In this book, I didn't feel like that was the case -Than he has a mistress (There was no physical cheating in the part of the book I read but just the MMC's treatment of this "mistress" is enough of a red flag for me) -Anf than the worst thing for me to read was that he forbade the FMC to work and told her to stop seeing her best and only friend (And even though the other points are also not okay this was the thing when I stopped reading the book)
So I can't tell if the book will get better after this and if the MMC will become a better character. But I believe even if he did a 180 turn I don't think I could continue reading this.
This book had so many inconsistencies within scenes and descriptions, it was insane. And beyond the desperate need for better basic editing, the storyline and characters were a mess. The FMC was a doormat and too easily manipulated. The MMC was straight-up abusive and a talented gaslighter. Even when we learn the “why behind some of the abuse, it didn’t make his behavior any more tolerable. It didn’t excuse leaving her to suffer in the cold rain because he was a toddler throwing a tantrum out of misplaced jealousy. It didn’t excuse dumping her out of the car in the middle of nowhere in the dark—again because he was an angry baby throwing a tantrum. It really didn’t excuse any of the other vile things he said and did to her—which went way beyond anything for “appearances. I like plenty of “dark romances with possessive MMCs, but this one was not it. He was not “sexy possessive in any way. He was just mean, controlling, disinterested in consent, selfish, manipulative…he was just icky all around. He had a temper like a toddler, zero self-control, and could not be trusted to keep his word. If a good editor got ahold of this book, I think it could eventually turn into something worth reading after extensive edits and rewrites. As is, no. Skip this one.
This book should have a content warning that it has on page rape and domestic abuse. The relationship between Mason and Ana is not a healthy one it is an abusive one. So please read with caution and I think this could be quite triggering for someone potentially going in blind!
The writing style is very different to any book I have read which I am assuming is as mentioned at the beginning of the book due to the author being Asian and their writing style being different to western books. However, the POV was bouncing all over the place so made it hard to follow, I felt the characters lacked depth and plot lacked any real structure and so much happened in a very short space of time between the characters that by 30% through if spaced and built up better you could have had a full length novel in its self.
I think the idea of the story has potential but the execution missed the mark. If the MMC wasn’t abusive and was just possessive and protective (your typical billionaire romance) and the spice was not abusive then I think the overall story would have been much better and I would have been on board for the grovelling that Mason needed to do to win back Ana.
Ava Selwyn took me on a rollercoaster of emotions. From the very first page, I was hooked by the intensity of Ana and Mason’s complicated relationship. Ana’s resilience was inspiring—her journey from heartbreak to healing had me rooting for her every step of the way.
Mason? He was maddening at first, and I hated how he treated Ana. But as the story unfolded and his true devotion became clear, I found myself softening toward him. His obsessive, over-the-top love might not be for everyone, but it worked for me. The twists in the plot kept me glued to the pages, and while some moments broke my heart, the fiery chemistry between Ana and Mason made it impossible to put down.
This is the kind of book that makes you laugh, cry, and rage all at once. If you love steamy billionaire romances with emotional depth, second chances, and a hero willing to sacrifice everything for love, you’ll enjoy this one. Just be ready for a wild ride!
If you want a book that's filled with drama and sex then this is the book fpr you. Its pretty much one of the drama box shorts or subscription novellas but in book form. Both the characters where overly dramatic to the point that some scenes where just annoying. Honestly if Mason had been honest with Ana from the beginning their revenge would have gone a smoother and and in my opinion sweeter. It get that the point was to build the drama and to make him grovel but I think its a hell of a lot hotter when the couples can take their enemies out together.
But all in all it wasn't a bad book. The sex scenes where hot and enjoyable. The plot was decent for the genre - I just wish it was more than what it was. The author has potential so I'll read the next book in this series since the blurb from that book is that piqued my interested in this series.
At first, I was mad at the author. I was 30% into the book and had so many questions about their past, their relationship, etc. I even deleted the book from my library, with no intention of finishing. But I'm not a quitter, so I downloaded it again dove back into the story.
By 50%, I was mad at Mason. Most of my original questions were answered, but I now wondered why he was so mean to Ana; there were so many ways he could have been indifferent to her (for her protection) without being hurtful.
And then I was crying. With Ana. With Mason. And then happy. And then frustrated with them both. And then cheering for them.
This was such a good story a page turner from the beginning. At first I really didn’t care for Mason because of the way he treated Ana but as the story progressed his attitude kind of changes and if you read the book you’ll know why. Sarah was another character I didn’t care for either but she needs to be a part of the story. This story had itself emotional ups and downs and plenty of steam between the two main characters. The Author did a good job with going into detail about what Ana was going through you could really feel for her. But don’t worry the book does have a happy ending. I would recommend this book to fans of the Author and to those who are fans of billionaire romances. I was gifted an ARC but I am voluntarily leaving my own opinion in this review.
At the start, I was frustrated. I had so many unanswered questions. what happened between them? Why were things so tense? the story kept tugging at me so I finieshed it in just one sitting!
By the halfway point my frustration shifted to Mason. He had his reasons sure but did he have to be that harsh? There were so many ways he could’ve handled things without causing so much pain.
And then out of nowhere the floodgates opened. I felt everything.Ana’s heartbreak, Mason’s turmoil, and all the moments that made me cry, smile, and scream at them both. By the end I was cheering for them like crazy.
This book made me feel everything, and I loved every second of it.
Mason Nightingale is married for 3 years to Ana Cross but in all that time he is constantly pushing her aside while giving his attention and devotion to another woman. Ana adores her husband until the day arrives when she doesn't. She is just done and demands a divorce. There is always another woman and this book is no exception. In this case the other woman is vile. She sets Ana up to be ambushed and assaulted by strangers. Here's where the story really starts to take off like a house on fire. I hate spoilers so I am not divulging what happens next. But I really, really can't recommend this author's books enough.
I knew when I KU’d this book what to expect- outrageous, exaggerated plot and characters, like those Asian K-dramas and that’s exactly what it is. Characters that do insane things, Ana the MFC, doormat extraordinaire and Mason, the MMC, a total K-drama cliche and complete ae. We find out eventually why exactly he treated Ana like he did and why he kept OW, Sarah around but that doesn’t excuse any of the horrid things he did. He was also sexually abusive and it was painful and repetitive to read. Yuck. But, if ridiculous K-drama stuff is your jam, this is for you. Thank goodness it was free.
This book doesn't even deserve 1 star, but because the author has put her hard work in it so I am giving it a star. The book just does not make any sense . Everything is just bad and sad at the same time . I mean, if the mmc knew all a long that his father killed his mother, then why did the mmc do everything his father was telling him to do to the fmc. And the fmc is just a cry baby and does not have a backbone, to be honest . And why did the mmc have a mistress . He could have easily told the fmc about everything, and there was no need for him to pretend that he did not like the fmc. Conclusion: I didn't enjoy the book at all. it's just horrible.
