Well, welcome to THE VIOLET HOUR� a second book from Victoria Benton Frank, author of MY MAGNOLIA SUMMER�
We were introduced to Maggie in book one; and now it’s Violet’s time to shine in this completely stand-alone sequel, though Benton Frank loyalists who were left with questions at the end of MAGNOLIA will be happy to find their answers in this novel�
Violet is still grieving a personal tragedy and a separation from her partner; and trying to find herself again when the novel opens. One of her best friend’s Aly, our second main character and POV, is also recently overcome with grief and trying to find her place in this world. These two strong southern women over the course of the novel bond so deeply- the reader becomes enraptured with their complex family dynamics and turns the pages quickly as both of their relationships flame and fizzle�
Told with humor, raw emotion, a lot of seductive food scenes that will make your mouth water, and a hint or two of romance; this family saga will sweep you away to summer in Charleston and leave you wanting more from this breath of fresh air in the southern fiction genre�!

What initially caught my interest was the cover - I love the colors and it just makes me want to take a trip to South Carolina. When I read the info provided about the book, it immediately reminded me of Sweet Magnolias. I love that show and the way it makes me feel. Like Sweet Magnolias, I hope the Violet Hour will make me feel all of the emotions and have me root for the characters and their happiness. So excited to finish and share my thoughts!

If you love a good “finding yourself after everything goes wrong� story set against a dreamy Southern backdrop, The Violet Hour is for you! Victoria Benton Frank writes a heartwarming novel about figuring out who you actually are when life throws you a curveball. This book is pure Southern charm with a side of sass. It’s emotional but uplifting, with characters you’ll love!

I received this book as part of a Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ Giveaway! It’s a perfect beach read and makes you want to visit Charleston. Loved the real world references!
