Can the promise of forever make her give up the one thing she’s always needed? Lara married for safety. For the kind of life she needed because of her past. But she gave up passion for control. Now divorced, it’s finally time to see to her own needs. So when she hears about a kinky, week-long murder mystery party, she applies for the exclusive vacation filled with debauchery.
Ten Doms. Ten subs. One Madam.
And a murder.
All at Fairford Manor—a luxury kink resort that needs to expand now that the founders have all fallen in love and paired off. The new renovation will allow for more Doms and guests, and this event is the official kickoff.
When the resort’s infamous playboy partner meets the one woman who doesn’t fawn over him . . . well, challenge accepted.
He turns on the Camden Reid charm.
It only makes her want him less.
So he does the only rational thing a Dom can do. He bends her to his will.
Lara thought fear would kick in. She’s always needed to feel strong and in control.
Bay Sinclair is the author of ultra high-heat contemporary romance with broken girls, sexy Doms, and lots of heart. When she isn’t writing, she’s an avid foodie in search of the next great culinary adventure, and she drinks entirely too much green tea.
When I first picked up this book, I loved the idea of a murder mystery week at a luxury kink resort. It sounded like the perfect mix of intrigue and indulgence. But as the story unfolded, I found the mystery element got in the way of the kind of fun you’d expect at a place like this. Worse, it blurred the lines between fantasy and reality, making it difficult to know whether things were real or just part of the roles people were playing in the murder mystery. That said, I adored Lara. As an older woman, it was refreshing to see her step out of her comfort zone and finally do something just for herself. And her first encounter with Camden was absolutely hilarious. The way she nearly asked for a partner swap had me laughing out loud—definitely not the reaction Camden was expecting! Now, I have no issue with a reverse age gap, but Camden, the infamous playboy Dom of Fairford Manor, didn’t seem like the best match for someone as emotionally guarded as Lara. He was charming, sure, but a bit too flippant, and I struggled to see how she’d ever truly open up to him. Plus, just as they were on the verge of something real, the murder mystery kept intruding on their intimate moments. Talk about bad timing! But here’s what surprised me most, Camden wasn’t just some cocky Dom with a penchant for pleasure. As the layers peeled back, he revealed a depth and empathy that I never saw coming. I loved watching him and Lara break down each other’s walls, slowly uncovering their histories and vulnerabilities. Their connection became something so much more than I originally thought possible. And yes, don’t worry, there’s plenty of spice, with impact play taking center stage as Lara’s kink of choice. Honestly, there could have been even more, if not for all that pesky sleuthing. What left me somewhat disheartened though was that for a story set in the BDSM world—where communication is king—it was sad that neither of them actually voiced their feelings. Thankfully, Fairford Manor is full of Doms who know exactly what that’s like and who won’t hesitate to set Camden straight. All in all, this book was a kinky, slightly chaotic ride—equal parts frustrating and satisfying. Though not my favorite of the series, if you love a steamy romance with a side of mystery (and don’t mind some mixed signals along the way), this one’s definitely worth checking out! I absolutely loved this book, as I have every other book in the Fairford Affairs series. Camden. The playboy of the manor has finally met his match. There’s a woman who exists that doesn’t immediately throw herself at him. What’s that about? That’s something Camden is most certainly not used to and not something he will stand for. He’s all about turning up the charm to have this stunning woman fall all over him. Lara. A divorced mom who has decided to do something for herself. Her first foray into the manor is for their first murder mystery week and she’s so excited to try something new. The problem? Her dom for the week is Camden. One look at him and she’s already wondering if there’s any way to switch partners. There’s a cash prize to whomever solves the mystery for the week so these two are going to have to work together to solve it & they going to have to make themselves vulnerable. Doing so, will they catch more than a killer? The clues they’ll be finding this week will go far deeper than the game, they’ll unlock parts of each other’s pasts and could make or break them both.
Also- if you’ve read the other books in the series, you’re most certainly going to love the epilogue.
A kinky murder mystery at a luxurious BDSM resort? Sign me up! Solving Lara takes you on a thrilling, spicy, and emotional journey as Lara, a newly divorced single mom, steps out of her comfort zone and into a world of submission, seduction, and secrets.
Lara and Camden’s dynamic is fiery and full of tension. Camden, the resort’s notorious playboy Dom, is used to getting his way—until Lara, who sees right through his charm. Their push-and-pull chemistry was one of my favorite parts of the book, especially as they peeled back each other’s layers to reveal past wounds and hidden desires.
The murder mystery added an intriguing twist, though at times, it felt like it interrupted the romance just when things were getting really interesting. The balance between sleuthing and seduction wasn’t always perfect, but it definitely kept the story engaging. And the spice?🔥🔥🔥 Let's just say Fairford Manor knows how to keep things steamy.
While I wish there had been more open communication between the characters, I loved watching them slowly break down their walls. If you enjoy high-stakes romance with a side of mystery, dominance, and self-discovery, this one’s worth the read!
This is my first time reading a Bay Sinclair book, and I find it quite exciting! It features a murder mystery, a romantic subplot, and a journey of self-discovery. Lara, a single mother, attends a week-long murder mystery party at the luxurious Fairford Manor resort, where she encounters Camden, a captivating and intriguing character. Lara's initial reaction to Camden creates an interesting dynamic as they collaborate to solve the mystery while also exploring their developing feelings. Lara's journey is a powerful exploration of self-discovery, as she learns to let go of her past and embrace her true desires.
"Solving Lara" is a compelling read for enthusiasts of romance, mystery, and character development, seamlessly blending genres to create an engaging narrative that leaves the reader wanting more.
I really loved this book and wholeheartedly recommend it.

I cannot believe that this is the end of the Fairford Manor series! I am SO not ready to say goodbye to these characters. The murder mystery in this book was SO GOOD that at times I forgot it was a GAME and not a real murder. Phenomenally written mystery and I had so much fun discovering who the “murderer was with the characters. I loved getting to know Lara through this book. Someone give that woman a hug! And can you let her know I want to be her friend? Camden is a perfect Dirty Shirley - dirty but oh so sweet! (He’s far too dirty to be a cinnamon roll 🤣). Zach remains my favorite character and I LOVE that I get to see more of his happily ever after in this book. I would love more stories so I can keep seeing the happily ever after for all these characters that I love so much. Truly a perfect ending to this series that I never wanted to end.
What I enjoyed more than the Murder Mystery week was the afterwords. The tug and pull to fight for a chance at a relationship beyond the body intimacy. Bay shows us that Camden is the guy who admits he’s fallen hard for her and will fight in her corner. We see the struggle of Lara on page to surrender not just her body but her heart and bare her soul.
But love wasn’t enough, and they both knew it. Not without honesty. Vulnerability. Trust. She trusted him. More than she even trusted herself most days.

Bay has delivered another amazing story. This is such a fun read! A murder mystery makes it extra special and reunites all characters from previous books with some new characters. I loved Camden and Lara together, they (and I) had so much fun in their search for the culprit. But there’s also Lara’s past, something she has never shared with anyone. And Camden has his own bad experience to deal with. I loved him for being so supportive of Lara, he is such a sweet person on the inside.
“Tell me who hurt you, he said, barely even recognizing his own voice. “And I’ll fucking kill them.
It also has a great epilogue! It’s so sad to know that this is the last book of this series. Every book was SO good! Highly recommended.
Well I have a new holiday to add to my bucket list. A week long murder mystery party at a kinky resort. If only
Great to have a more mature FMC Lara, so generally under represented in this genre with a younger MMC, Camden. I thought it worked really well and it was very spicy. They had good chemistry.
The murder mystery part did add an interesting layer and was well done. I would recommend this book.

This is the fifth book in the Fairford Affairs Series. While they can be read as standalones that have interconnected characters I felt I would have enjoyed it more if I knew more about the characters from previous books. I haven’t read any of the others but will if I get the chance.
Lara signs up for the Murder mystery week at Fairford Manor with thoughts of relinquishing control and enjoying an explosive week to her satisfaction. While she does enjoy the “investigative work she puts in to solve the mystery, to her surprise, her assigned host Camden ends up being the better prize.
While she is initially not attracted to Camden, as time goes by, he wins her over —physically AND emotionally. Their quiet moments were as lovely as those spicy moments.
The huge reveal at the end helped to explain the earlier scenes between Camden and Lara; and her choices in life. I also enjoyed the found family vibes between the guys and this book would be a good introduction to the BDSM world for those who are new to it.
Absolutely brilliant! New author and series for me. Great characters, fun murder mystery kink club vibes, plenty of spice, what more could you want?
This sex club cluedo is a well thought out, clever and fun read with an interesting sub plot moving the story (and the relationship between Camden and Lara) along.
Love the way the story had two sort of endings. One ends on a serious note as Lara finally reveals her story to Camden. The other focuses on Zach and Remy's wedding.
By giving such prominence to the guys wedding I am guessing it's significant to the rest of the series, which I'll now have read! Nicely done Ms Sinclair! Very high four stars!
I received this as a free arc and am volunterily leaving this honest review.
This is the first book from Bay Sinclair that I have read. I can not wait to read more. It took some getting into this book but once I did I could not put it down. This was not just a book concerning BDSM but also had love, affection and a murder mystery. The MCs were awesome as well as most of the supporting cast members. I loved Zach and Tonya. Camden fell for Lara soon after meeting her but was scared because of his past. Lara felt she did not deserve to be truly happy and trust did not come easily to her. They finally get their HEA. I recommend this book to all romance readers who want a touch of BDSM with their romance.

Solving Lara is the 5th and final book in the Fairford Affairs series as Camden is the last of the owners of the Manor to find his match. The story is a fast-paced, make-believe murder mystery that feels incredibly real, interspersed with steamy sexy times and a heartbreaking backstory to Lara. Camden turns out to be a very emotional and empathetic person and I enjoyed seeing them fall ever deeper in love while solving the mystery. There's a very moving epilogue starring all the Doms and their subs, a great finale to the series. I received an advanced copy through BookSirens and am leaving this review voluntarily and honestly.
Solving Lara by Bay Sinclair was great fun. Lara goes to a sex resort for a murder mystery week and is paired with Camden. This is a fantastic story of the two of them growing closer as they try to discover who the murderer is. It is a well-crafted story and returns previous characters from the series. Both Lara and Camden are wonderful characters and the clues are discovered in a perfect way throughout the story. It kept you guessing but still provided the same information to try to solve it yourself. Lots of steamy scenes but also great character development. A fantastic book.

Well written, full of drama, murder, mystery, passion, emotions, lust, seam, spicy and twists. Lara is a woman that did what she had to do- Mom, wife and not true to herself. Lara decides to go to a murder mystery vacation at the famous Fairford Manor. Camden works there at the manor. Together they have a great week, very hot and special. Has lots of action between all the characters new and old. We have meet these characters thru the earlier books. Great to read about them again. Absolutely a fabulous ending to this series, but maybe we can get an epilogue. Would recommend to everyone.

Solving Lara was a great read! Lara, who is a single mother, signs up for a weeklong kinky murder mystery party at the luxurious Fairford Manor. Lara was not prepared for Camden Reid, playboy partner. I thoroughly enjoyed the book, and the murder mystery aspect kept me hooked! The writing had it to where I was caught between what was real or what was the game when they were trying to figure out who did it. The spicy scenes were phenomenal. This is my first Bay Sinclair read and now I’m going to read the prior books to get the backstory on the other characters since they are all mentioned in this book. I highly recommend & read the epilogue!
Please tell me there's more!! I've loved this series so much!! This story was exciting with suspense during the murder mystery but having all of the Doms and Subs together was the best part. They're each uniquely different but one big happy family. I was happy during most of it but then I cried, so hard, during parts also. This story just can't end!! We need more weddings, more events, babies?!.... Anything!! Just keep writing about this group, please!!
“You’re my everything. My whole universe. Wherever you are, that’s where I want to be. I just absolutely love this series! I've loved every single one of them and this one didn't disappoint. It was sooooo good! I think it was very creative on the authors part to have a mürd3r mystery game at the manor. I think Lara and Camden are a perfect match! If you love quick & spicy reads you should definitely check this author out.
Solving Lara had me hooked, it’s a Murder Mystery weekend with Doms and Subs paired up to solve the murder. And oh my gosh is the spicy top tier, Lara loves the punishment and pain that her Dom Camden gives her. I really enjoyed the mystery and detective work mixed with all the spice. Lara is 45, which I loved that she wasn’t super young like most books. This is kinda a kinky love story and I’m here for it.
A week at a luxury kink resort and a murder mystery ? Count me in! Solving Lara was a page turner filled with the perfect amount of plot and steamy romance! 10 Doms. 10 Subs. 1 Madam. And a murder. Camden and Lara are left to investigate the case as well as themselves in the latest by Bay Sinclair!
A treat for divorced Lara is week long murder mystery with a twist. Teamed up with Cameron to solve the mystery, her initial judgement of him was proved wrong and I just adored how Lara was through his eyes. Good read.

This is the 5th book in the Fairford Affairs series. I love the idea and setting of this book. I truly enjoyed reading Lara and Camden's story. This story shows how you can heal from hurt, pain, and the past with love and support from the right person. This was well written and I'm so glad I got to read this book!!
Awesome addition to this series. Intense storyline with danger, secrets, and suspense. Well written characters that were relatable. Possessive demanding attitudes. Plot twists in the storyline made for an awesome read!!!.

I loved everything about this book. A unique storyline, two characters with an immediate attraction. Hot and steamy, with so many twists worked into this book. Lara and Camden were great together and they were extraordinary together.
The ending was perfectly done and very satisfying. Well done 👏.
The steam that rolls off of Camden and Lara's story is so dense my glasses keep fogging up or maybe it's my own breath 😏. Love the murder mystery game @ the manor and getting to read how much Lara and Camden being together made them realize how in love they are by the end. There are some interesting clues to be found that will solve the murder.
What a great plot! Very unique! Murder Mystery Party - 10 Doms and 10 subs are paired to solve the mystery! So lots of sneaking around and having "mystery solving fun" then there's the Dom/sub fun. Great concept - great heat!
High energy and sizzling chemicals made this book an entertaining read for me. I loved the storyline which took on a life of its own as the characters traversed the journey of discovery. I enjoyed reading this book.

Lara, is a single mother seeking to reclaim her desires, and Camden, is a charming yet grumpy Dom determined to win her over during a week-long kinky murder mystery party. What will happen when the week is over? Will Camden get Lara to give him a chance?
Thoroughly enjoyed this story of family, friendship, love and fun. This is Lara and Camden's story of both their struggles and triumphs. Also, feeling worthy of what they received
