Попри недоліки книжки, автор нагадав мені чому я люблю читати і розпалив нову цікавість до де Бовуар і всього її періоду. Це заслуговує на 5 зірок.

Alois Prinz got an admirable talent to write lively and fascinating biographies. He captures the essence of lives and thoughts of people. After reading now the fourth of his numerous books (Hannah Arendt, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Milena Jesenska, Simone de Beauvoir) I feel confident to say so. He makes the lives and thoughts of these people approachable, comprehensible as far as this can be achieved, and accessible. Especially for young adults. He‘s avoiding complicated words and descriptions when he is describing philosophies or movements or political thoughts, beliefs or attitudes and he has a wonderful fluid style of writing. I enjoyed this book for what it is, a respectful, non-judgmental, fascinating and well written stepstone into the life of an icon, a woman, a human being which has still a lot to tell us.
