"Sometimes there's no shortcut. Sometimes you have to wait to get the answers you need."
Ten years ago, Anna Matthews was almost killed during a horrific attack at a remote Norwegian cabin. Some people believe she's a heroic survivor who fought against all the odds. Others insist that she's a liar who staged the whole thing for fame and fortune.
Now the truth is finally going to come out.
To mark the tenth anniversary of those brutal events, a film crew travels to the location of the original incident. There, a perfect replica of the original cabin has been built. For the film-makers, this is a chance to find out what really happened, but not everyone is so keen. And as the shoot continues, members of the team start to wonder whether they're being watched. No-one has seen or heard from Anna for many years. Has she finally been lured back out into the open?
Beyond the Cabin is the third and final book in the Cabin Trilogy, about a horrific crime and its consequences across the years. Reads are advised to start with the first book in the series.
Amy Cross writes novels and short stories in a number of genres, mainly horror, paranormal and fantasy. Books include The Farm, Annie's Room, The Island, Eli's Town and Asylum.
The first book in the series was my first experience with this author. I had found it fascinating, especially since it wasn't like many other books I've read. As we hit this eventual conclusion, I realized I didn't need the closure. I got it with book 2.
The story flows. It's a quick read. I just can't say it was 100% necessary.
Such a good trilogy and definitely worth the read! Amy Cross is amazing at everything she writes. I've read so many books I've lost count. She does modern horror and historical horror. Love love love!
