Leaving their island is heresy and getting caught on the way to the treasure could cost them their lives. For Beth, it's worth the risk to leave the Baron and her Honor Guard empty-handed.

They are pursued by a group of Templars, led by Malcolm, who will do whatever it takes to secure the crash site and maintain the secrets of the ruling class. Along the way, they encounter dangerous and alien creatures, trek treacherous terrain, and uncover secrets that could topple the Baron's empire.

Salvage explores themes of power, oppression, and the search for truth. It will appeal to fans of commercial sci-fi and adventure novels such as Tamsyn Muir's Locked Tomb series, Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn series, or The Kaiju Preservation Society. The novel bridges the gap between YA and Adult fiction and has potential to appeal to both groups.
I’m always a little intimidated walking into a sci-fi or fantasy novel. Will I understand the world building? Will I remember the character names? Salvage succeeded in being a super readable story with memorable characters and a great world building.
I was super invested in our ensemble and had the most fun reading once their stories began to converge. I loved to read about heroines who are ruthless, reckless, and flawed. Beth, Sly, and Portia all fit that bill to different degrees, and I found myself really rooting for my gremlin girls to get everything they want.
I’m really excited to see where the story goes from here!
Tremendously fun read! It starts out tightly focused on people and events in the Chain, an isolated group of islands but by the end starts to reveal a much broader story and cast of characters. On one hand, it is tightly paced race by various factions for a mysterious treasure but through the book becomes much more than that. Highly recommended!

I really enjoyed this read. The world is well-realized and compelling. Our understanding of the characters and their society develops throughout the story. Without giving too much of the plot away, I can say that everything makes sense and ties together quite naturally by the end. I'm definitely looking forward to whatever comes next!
