I read this book for a scholarship and I really enjoyed it. I honestly thought this was going to be boring but C. Moore's story was truly inspirational. I couldn't imaging flunking out of college, but C. Moore got back up and continued to follow his dreams. It was a different path then what he imagined but God took him down His path and it turned out God's path was even better than what C. Moore had imagined for himself. I really saw a lot of myself in this story. Many times things don't always go the way I planned but when God steps in I am truly amazed at what He had in store for me. Good Read!
From Failure to Promise:"360 Degrees" is an excellent read by Dr. C. Moorer. He challenges you to think "Big" at every turn and to have the strongest faith based relationship with God throughout your educational and life's journey's. His story of strength during the weakest time, education, and determination has greatly influenced me as a student and made me question my true calling from God. This book caused me to laugh, and cry. I enjoyed it from beginning to end and would highly recommend it to all college and even high school students. This is indeed a great Legacy!
Very inspirational short read, that I would recommend. This books helps with people with low faith. Whenever things in their life is hard, people tend to find themselves question why this is happening to them and begging to doubt. So if that's you give it a read!
I chose this rating because his story is a true testament to what can happen. He shows us how his faith and how God was able to get him through the toughest of times. It's also a guide in a way to show others how not to give up.
Akin to a 5th grader using the forum of a book to develop his writing skills for the purpose of shoving religion down the reader's throat and lavishing himself with mind-numbing humble brags.
Through and through, this author grants himself accomplishments that he does not deserve. As an example, this book ridicules other literary accomplishments that have published millions of copies without - according to the writer - ever having made a lasting impact on a reader. Unlike those successful books, the author argues that while his book doesn't have a large audience, he has made an imprint on the legacy of literature because his book has affected his readers.
Well, the only way this book affected me was through irritating headaches. Not sure it even deserves one star.
This book truly spoke volumes to my life and I am very glad that I read it! I personally enjoyed the usage of biblical scriptures within this book because they were placed right where they needed to be, in order to emphasize the point that Dr. C was trying to make. This book is written in such a manner that places the reader in the center of Dr. C's life, so it feels as though the reader experiences his transition from a "flunk out" to a "professor." This book is an easy read and I would definitely recommend this book to others because it gives the reader an extra push to stay encouraged, no matter the circumstance!
This book has truly changed my outlook on life. Dr. Moorer is very transparent when it comes to his humble beginnings and setbacks. I truly appreciate his willingness to be completely honest with his audience because it made the book relatable. I felt as if he wasn't boastful about his achievements, but rather he gave glory to God for making them possible. I know that if God can turn it all around for Dr. Moorer,he can do it for me too. Take the time to read this book. You won't regret it!
A very good story, and innovative writing style for biographies. Would probably really annoy someone who is not religious, although what religion does not make much of a difference. However, there is good advice in this book, and the author's goals are commendable. Perfect read for a person who, like the author, is internally motivated, and whose greatest demons come from within, not without. Bought this book for a scholarship, which can be found at because seriously, who can afford college. Best of luck!
This book is very engaging and an encouragement to me as I watch God turn my life around as well. I very much enjoy the use of biblical scriptures that capture the essence of each chapter/theme presented throughout the literary work. Dr. Moorer takes the reader on this humbling journey from a valley to a mountain top experience. I definitely connected with his story and hope to read more from him in the future.
