Games can be different. Some are innocent, others are dangerous. But there are also those that you will never learn how to play.
Oliver Altier is a guy whose every day is a game, a game of passion. His only rule is: no strings attached, no guilt involved. Oliver thinks he knows everything about how to please women. Until one day, he meets Jillian Murano, a woman who is so much like him when it comes to relationships: she hates obligations, but she loves men, margaritas and fun.
What will be different this time?
Will passion and lust be enough to turn their games into something real?
If they thought it would be nothing but another play, they should have thought twice before getting into something that will change them both, once and for all

Oliver Altier is a man living in the moment without attachments and a woman at his beck and call kind of guy. He’s the kind that every father would tell his baby girl to run away from and the kind where he doesn’t like not getting what he wants. He’s complicated and a bit dirty. I love it!

Jillian Murano is a workaholic, feisty, sharp tongued, take no crap kind of gal. She’s the kind that also knows what she wants in life and works her butt off to get it. She isn’t in the market for a relationship to make her life even more complicated, especially since her best friend is marrying her boss. That already makes her life hard.

When Jillian’s sister and a dog ruin her apartment Jillian turns to her best friend for help and moves into her old apartment, which she is grateful. That is, until she realizes she’s not the only one staying there. She comes face to face with her boss’s brother, Oliver and darn! He’s wearing too much clothes. . .
Can these two really share the apartment without anything between them? Or will the house to go up in flames around them? The only question I’m wondering is will it be the flames of passion or hate?

Diana Nixon knows how to write a story that makes you wet your lips, reach for a drink, and laugh out loud. She also knows how to write love. And that is what this story is. It’s a love story. In the end that’s what it boils down to. It’s about Oliver becoming a man and discovering what he truly wants in life (SPOILER! It’s Jillian) and about Jillian finally allowing someone to get past her hard exterior and into her heart (SPOILER! It’s Oliver!).

The conversations are fun and lively, the characters are witty and sexy. They are the ‘tie them to the bed kind of characters. J Who doesn’t like a little role play? There really isn’t a duel moment with this cast.

There is enough banter between characters to keep the story moving at a fast pace. Trust me, you’re going to eat this book up. I know I did. In one afternoon (to the morning) I sat back and read this book refusing to put it down because I had to know what was happening! At one point Oliver was so sweet and the next he’s completely an ass! I had to know why.

But No Strings Attached isn’t all fun and games. The characters are flawed, they end up misunderstanding each other, and they make huge mistakes (I’m glaring at Oliver.). Expect to be overwhelmed, your heart to be taken, a curse here or there, and then smiling. But above all else, expect to fall in love with this book.

Thank you Diana for another great read.

-Brenda Franklin

Before No Strings Attached there was Checkmate where we first meet Oliver, but more importantly you get to enjoy Dominick and Scarlett’s relationship and see the turn of events that lead them to where they are in this book. I’m trying not to give it away, but I’m doing a horrible job. J What I’m trying to say is, if you liked this book you will also love the first book, Checkmate.

I was given this book for my honest review

Every time I closed my eyes, I saw her. It didn’t matter where I was at any point in time, I wanted to be with her, no matter how much she didn’t want to be with me. I think she was the first and the last woman I had ever loved that much. It was so much more than what I had ever felt for anyone else. I was mesmerized by her, Oliver’s thoughts

This is the 2nd book in the Checkmate Series and should be read in order.

Oliver-hunk of hotness

Jillian-pretty and very smart

Oliver and Jillian’s journey gets me to thinking about the infamous but yet beloved holiday Pumpkin pie. Pumpkin is a bitterness of a fruit by itself but when adding the combinations of cloves, sugar, eggs, evaporated milk, and cinnamon it can become a delight that our pallets so seek. Pouring the concoction into the prepared piecrust for baking at two temperature settings of only 15 minutes apart becomes the setting of fabulous delight. As the smells hit our noses in the baking process they invoke a mouthwatering experience like no other. A pie created and served out of love not only to our pallets but those whom surround us.

Have you ever looked at a man and thought “wow a sexy lollipop that you wouldn’t mind licking till you find the center and then think “Oh wow the lollipop can be a continual flow of delight that if licked just right a foreverness of sweetness stays. Oliver is Jillian’s yummy lollipop she hopes that will be her forever lickable man. Will Oliver take to being with one when he knows that all will want a taste or will he submit to being Jillian’s forever lickable delight?

To the author: You have brought forth another wondrous read. The proverbial fly on the wall was not to be needed with this couples journey for we were invited to sit down with this amazing duo to enjoy the story of their encompassed life. Oliver and Jillian each had their own bit of sarcasm that when listening to them your first thought would have been “How long have you been married for? This however was not the case their romance was of cosmic explosions. Your readers will have to get enthralled within this read. A quiet place with a do not disturb sign and plenty of ice would be best.

Happy Reading

This book picks up where Book One leaves off except now we are getting a view into Jillian’s life and her developing relationship with Dominic’s brother, Oliver. In the beginning it’s well established that Oliver is a womanizer, never seeing a girl more than once. Jill wants no parts of exposing her heart to another man. She is happy and content to be alone and throws herself into her work and earning a well deserved promotion.

However, when Jill’s apartment becomes unlivable she moves into Scarlett’s unrented space…only to find Oliver temporarily staying there too making things become a bit complicated. Temptations are too hard to resist and before long they make their way to the bedroom. Immediately they are hooked on each other but stay strong in their beliefs that they can do this with no strings attached. Both are playing the game, but the rules are constantly changing and both begin to realize their true feelings. Each chapter reveals the continual struggle of them both coming to terms with their feelings in their own way.

Jillian is another independent and confident female character. I love that the author has delivered two great female characters in this series. However, being strong-willed has also been somewhat of their downfall, especially when it comes to men. But we are only human and can’t avoid feelings of love no matter how hard we try, so the characters are very relatable. And it’s pretty interesting that these two feel in love after such a short time and with little sex. Not that the sexy dream scenes weren’t enough to make anyone fall in love! You can genuinely feel the game of tug of war between them.

The reader gets to be totally immersed into these women and the men they fall for; there is little in the way of supporting characters to distract from their story. I really enjoy when an author allows us to see both main character perspectives when telling the story. Diana does this well, picking up each chapter right where the other one leaves off without repeating many of the scenes. There is a happy ending here as well and I can’t wait to see if Diana continues to write about these characters.

Oh, I think this is a wonderful story! This book made me happy, sad, made me laugh, it has it all.
No Strings Attached is the second book after Checkmate and it is about Oliver Altier, Dominick's brother and Scarlett's best friend, Jillian. From the first book I liked how Jillian was, a woman that loves to work and doesn't lose her head over a man. I really like that, that control over herself. On the other hand, Oliver was described as a good-for-nothing man, a man that use women for his benefits. But he was fun and very handsome.
In this story I learned more about the characters, I understood them, even Oliver:), I understood the reason why he acts like a douche:). Jillian is strong girl, she likes to say frankly what she thinks and I respect that.
The story begins with the fact that Jillian's sister destroyed her house and now she doesn't have were to live. Her best friend Scarlett saves her by offering her apartment. There, Jillian finds Oliver and they become roommates.
You can imagine that living in the same house with a man like Oliver can't be easy. So, the inevitable happens. Whats that, you will have to read this awesome book to know it.
They say that love change people and these two lovely people are not an exception, they change too. I loved how that is described in this story. I felt those changes myself and I like when a person becomes a better one.
The conclusion of these book is that Diana created two remarkable characters. Oliver changed into a man that loves very much his woman and appreciates her and Jillian found a man that succeeded to break her walls and fill her heart with love and happiness. In the end, both are really happy and we all love a happy ending.
It is great book? No. It is a book so beautiful, it's a story that show us all that love is the most important thing in our lives, that makes us better.
Congratulations my dear Diana, you wrote a magnificent book! Thank you for your kindness!

Review

No Strings Attached is the second book in the series Checkmate by Diana Nixon.
Oliver Altier is Dominic's brother and he is a player like his brother. He loves to have sex but without obligations. His only rule is no strings attached. He is a musician and he dreams to have his own company.
Jillian is Scarlett's best friend, she is beautiful and sexy and tough she loves her job. She doesn't want a relationship and she doesn't want to be hurt. She doesn't trust in Oliver because he is player like his brother and he has the power to hurt her because she has feelings for Oliver.
They wanted the same thing from a relationship sex without obligations so they decided to have sex because they are attracted to each other and because they have fun togehter and they liked to flirt to each other.
But after a night together they discovered that they had feelings for each other but they were so afraid of their feelings that they decided to be just friends. They understood that they can't be happy one without the other so they decided to have a relationship.
I really liked their chemistry. They were so sweet together. Thank you Diana for this ebook.

Checkmate book 2

Diana Nixon has done it again with her creative, loving and hard work. She knows what the readers want and what she needs the characters to sound like. This book was based off of the other two main characters in the Checkmate series and it couldn't have been better written. The personalities of the characters mixed perfectly together.

Oliver, the younger brother to Dominic the main character from book one has fallen in love. But it wasn't with just any girl it happened to be Jillian, the other main character Scarlett best friend from book one. That alone sounds like a complicated story to read to begin with.

Between the sex and love lust this book will draw any reader in for the long hall. Just a few short days away from book three being released everyone should head on over to preorder it and start the series from the beginning. I highly recommend Diana Nixon book selection and not just the checkmate series.

Before Oliver got his book, I knew he'd be my favourite character from all her books. And Diana didn't disappoint me. She made me love him even more. He had one dirty mouth which I loved. Come on...who doesn't love a hot, sexy, gorgeous, teasing, dirty mouthed musician. They are the best kind. And then there was Jill. Fiesty, foul - mouthed, strong and independent. The sexual tension sizzled between them. They challenged each other and they are both stubborn. Their attraction to each other could burn down a entire house. And oh god! The sex scenes!! These are Diana's hottest sex scenes she's ever written....she did Oliver justice because he is sex on legs!! I was fanning my face on several occasions. Psst....there's a hot elevator scene. I won't tell you anymore. You just have to purchase it and read it for yourself.

Mesmerizing and Exciting

This is the second novel I have read by this author. I hope there will be more coming in this series. The characters compliment each other perfectly. The plot is well thought out. The reader even learns a little French along the way.

A humorous story.

Both the H and h think they've written the rule book on short-term relationships, so they each believe they can't fall in love with each other. A nice look-in on Scarlett & Dominic's relationship keeps things flowing along.

Good read

I liked Oliver's story, a little slow in places. I loved how you also got to hear more about Scarlett and Dominic. Oliver's story just seemed a little predictable.
