Liberalism Is a Mental Disorder- Michael Savage has the cure. With grit, guts, and gusto, talk radio sensation Michael Savage leaves no political turn unstoned as he savages today's most rabid liberalism. In this paperback edition of his third New York Times bestseller, Savage strikes at the root of today's most pressing issues, including: Ìý Homeland security: "We need more Patton and less patent leather . . . Real homeland security begins when we arrest, interrogate, jail, or deport known operatives within our own borders . . . One dirty bomb can ruin your whole day." Illegal immigration: "I envision an Oil for Illegals program . . . The president should demand one barrel of oil from Mexico for every illegal that sneaks into our country." Lawsuit abuse: "Lawyers are like red wine. Everything in moderation. Today we have far too many lawyers, and we're suffering from cirrhosis of the economy." "Pure Savage. Very effective, very timely, very hot." American Compass Book Club

He is an ardent conservationist, is dedicated to his family, and is a proud patriot of his country.
So there's being offensive to make a point (Chris Rock's "N's v. Black People" sketches).
There's being offensive to be funny. (South Park's Trapped in the Closet episode, which will probably send me to hell but I can't stop laughing at it.)
And there's being offensive just to be offensive.
Sadly, this book is the last kind--so much so that I want to hang a disclaimer of "I'M NOT WITH HIM" over anywhere this book appears on my profile. The only reason I made it through the whole thing is that once I start a book, I always finish it; I've never given up on anything once I've started, although I almost threw this one down several times.
I have no problem with pointing out areas where you disagree with someone, but Mr. Savage refers to public figures as "Coffee Cup Annan," "Madeline Halfbright," and "Mayor Any Twosome-Noosem." I thought that it stopped being acceptable to use people's names to makes fun of them in junior high. Or, another gem, any Muslim country is referred to in his book by the generic label "Krapistan," defined in his glossary as "any Turd-World dustbowl still stuck in the Middle Ages."
The list goes on, with Mr. Savage insulting both his opponents and his supporters alike using playground language. His tendency to refer to "spokeschick" and "newschick," for example, or to say to people who agree with him that they're too stupid to know what he's talking about. No, literally, it's in there. This is how you talk to your allies? Really? We move on from, past badly drawn stereotype into examples of his "ignnerce." (Those from the South will know that being "ignorant" means you don't know something, and being "ignnert" means you're stupid, racist and/or sexist on purpose.) Mr. Savage displays the type of rabid attack-dog mentality that makes it embarrassing to say that you're conservative; even when I agree with his basic points, I was disgusted by the way he expressed them, especially since he couldn't seem to resist taking back-handed digs at his supports as well. His refusal to acknowledge actual facts (from other conservative sources, no less, not solely from the "Taliban News Network") if they don't fit his ideas of "Hitlers in dirty nightshirts" or "Headcutters in Headscarfs."
Really? You expect to win converts by calling us sheeple, and saying we don't "know the difference between Mussolini, Tortellini, or Linguine." Unfortunately, after you wade through Mr. Savage's hatemongering and offensiveness for the sake of offensiveness (which he despises in other people, but seems to find perfectly acceptable in himself), you can't find any actual substance to his arguments. If you want actual, substantive conservative arguments that you can use for ammunition in debates, or even to bolster your own beliefs, try Dinesh D'Souza, Michelle Malkin, Ann Coulter (who knows how to be offensive to make a point or be fun, and then stop there). Try just about anyone else; just don't let this be your only face of conservative talk radio.
Find out why liberals believe there is nothing wrong with socialism -- why most of them are against organized religion (unless it happens to be Islam). Discover why it is extremely difficult to get any liberal to understand you or make logical arguments.
I agree most of what is said in this book. Basically if you're bored by statistics you won't be amused. If you're a bleeding heart liberal you also will not be amused. From one subject to the next he managed to nail down and provide statistics on the extent of the ridiculous American leftist ideals and how they're successfully and for the most part clandestinely destroying America. MOST of this book should be read by all Americans. Our current policies are a spit in the face of those who came before us. Our grandparents "The Greatest Generation" did not go through the things they did to build this mess. We should be ashamed of ourselves for what we are allowing to happen under our noses. Then he goes and basically takes a big steaming Neo Con Crap on all the the credibility that he had gained by doing one thing I can't stand. Eighy percent of this book is very good and eye opening. The other twenty percent or so is pro-church, anti-gay, anti-abortion, anti-sex education garbage that is practically required of right wingers. The same time he's preaching his regurgitated religious crap he's claiming that he's not but there is in fact a far right who we should be worried about. I just want to know why nearly every person who's republican has ALL, every last one of the republican views and never stray. Why do all Dems have all the left wing views without exemption. It's like they jump into a cookie cutter. The world does work that way and no writer on either side ever seems to be able to realize this including Mr. Michael Savage. Point being I totally agree with nearly everything he says until he totally lost and alienated me with all the religious garbage. Interesting read no matter how you look at it. I suggest picking it up. Whether it inspires you, pisses you off, or both, if you're concerned with the state of America you need to read this one.
I had hoped that this might provide an interesting and insightful critique of the attitudes of the 'left'. Indeed, there were some interesting facts scattered throughout the book. Unfortunately the overall tone, and the constant formula of "fact (which may or may not be at all the consequence of a liberal influence), thus all liberals are crazy". It is inevitable that there are extremely (and ludicrous) views on both liberal and conservative sides of politics, and cherry picking a few of these and pretending the represent the entirety of that side is frankly dishonest. It certainly isn't a dishonesty this book shies from. The frequent use of terms like 'sheeple', and comparing everyone with whom the author disagrees to the Nazis doesn't add to the book's credibility (nor that of the author). There are certainly valid criticisms to be made of liberal positions, but this book is not the place to find them.
[Audio:] Some good solid stuff and some rants, but as a whole it's solid, logical common sense approach to the foolishness of the liberal world. One item I was struck by is Savage's idea that if Liberalism doesn't tone down and get a grip, an ultra-right wing leader will step in as a reaction to the anti-American behavior of liberals, similar to what brought Hitler to power. Savage does not want this, nor calls for it, but thinks that average folks will be pushed so far then will push back to the hard right.
Rantings of a cranky old man. He presupposes that America somehow was created as a perfect institution and that the whole world has gone mad... except for him and some select Republicans.
He denys any value in other cultures or languages. Written before the Trump area, this repackaged Buchananism for a new generation. Currently this line of thought is shown in the worst extremes in some Trump White House Officials.
Savage is right on the money. He hist the nail right on the head with this book. His rants are hilarious and he presents the facts in a way where there is virtually no way to dispute them. He takes a strong stand against the nation destroying illegal immigration taking place as I write this. This is a must read.
Michael makes some interesting points. He is only a fair writter and tends to wander a bit. But there is no denying that he is a passionate observer who is deeply disturbed by the evil influences in our nation. He is very direct and the reader is forced to think more deeply about what is unfolding in American.
Michael Savage is right most of the time. Good arguments against illegal immigration. This is the first time i heard that 3/4 of all the cocaine and 1/2 of all the heroine consumed in USA gets here across the Mexican border...
Same radical Savage; but he is an interesting person with the education and knowledge behind him to make powerful statements without just being a besmirching fool.
Excellent read especially for those that don't follow the political undercurrents in our once great nation. Written in detail for understanding and engagement by a wide audience. It's a must read for anyone not fully aware of the enemies within and without. Savage is right on.
Well, you have to like Michael Savage to like this book. One thing about Michael, he tells the truth and he doesn't pull any punches. Everyone should read his books.you might learn something.
The title says it all! Michael Savage takes off the gloves once again to slug it out with political elite. This no-holds-bared book is full of great points and wonderful political comedy!
I only gave this one star just so I could say Savage HAS a mental disorder. He's an idiot along with Dobson, Fallwell, and the rest of the fringe lunatics of the right wing.
I object to language in use. I object to excessive emotional bursts. But, I agree, this is nothing compared to that what is about to come. Disturbing book.
My liberal friend didn't get past twenty pages before throwing this great book away. It's sad that some "open minded" folks on the political left won't listen to the other side before assuming anything not liberal is evil. The same friend milked every week of unemployment money before looking for a job. He abused the handout and blamed the evil rich for not giving him more. Ki was his name but it has now been changed legally to "Piece of Shit" due to his - blackmail is ok if a liberal does it to a conservative mindset. He's pathetic but justifies it by living an believing the lie of - liberals can do no wrong. Liberalism might destroy America and liberals will blame Bush, oil which powers their cars too, and/or anyone who worked hard to earn more money than them. Thank you Dr. Savage for telling the world what I knew when I was ten years old. Don't spend more money than I make. I'm going to read this again soon.
Michael Savage is an aquired taste. He is not for everyone. Even people on the Conservitive side don't care for his views or rants from time to time. You may not agree with Michael on everything he says, but you can take it to the bank that he will stand by everything that comes out of his mouth. Michael's talk show has lots of yelling and down talking, so even I can only take so much before turning the channel, but his books are loaded with great facts and leasons that we should all pay attention to.
Again if you are a Liberal, go the other way because these are not the books for you.
If you have high blood pressure, avoid his radio show. LOL
If your a Conservitive, don't let his radio show turn your away. Give the books a chance. You just may find you agree with more things Michael says than you thought you would have.
I bought this book because of its title, and it doesn't do what I though it would. Instead of explaining why liberalism is a mental disorder (which it is), Savage just goes on rants about everything from Islamofascism to George Bushs' fiscal socialism. Don't get me wrong I love Savage and I love the book but the title doesn't accurately describe the context of the work as a whole. Government Zero is a whole lot better.
Absolutely love Michael Savage's in your face, telling it like it is approach, he doesn't beat around the bush or try to tickle anyone's ears and he is not politically correct by any means. Amazing radio show host and powerful speaker on American culture and politics, very refreshing character.
This book should be required reading for everyone. The title and writing style may seem inflammatory, but that comes from the author's passion about this topic. The message is dead accurate and the author's projection of the future if Liberalism goes unchecked is truly frightening.
It was quite similar to other Michael Savage books I've read in the past. I typically like what I am reading (or hearing on his show), but this book in particular was very engrossing. This was a short book and easy to read.
Great book on why the ultra left are crazy. A must-read in this election year. Savage's rant can be a little too much, but the fundamentals of this book are terrific.
Preeminent work. A bible for some. At least those with an analytical mind. But that is an attribute completely lost to the next generation of, not just the United States, but the world at large.
