While this book is part of the Wing Slayer Hunter Series, it can be read as a stand-alone.

Jen has won numerous awards, hit bestseller lists on several sites, and had her books translated into multiple languages.

In the evening, her husband lures her away from the computer with a glass of wine and the company of the man who is her happily ever after.
This book took off like a horse race. By chapter 2, the gate flew open and my heart was racing like a horse. Then it happened, BANG, our hero showed up. I heard him galloping onto the scene.
OMG, I HEARD THE MUSIC "HI-YO...SILVER!"...
Linc and Risa’s story had a different feel for me. Linc believed he didn't want to be in a committed relationship. Risa had been abused, and didn't think she wanted to be in one either. They both had been used and broken. Therefore, the building of this relationship had more of romantical falling in love to it, so it was more emotional for me.
I was on a roller coaster ride of thrills, goosebumps, and falling in love. This being the 5th book I may be getting a little bit crazy. But, every time Linc swept in for the save I'd hear the Lone Ranger theme song playing in my head...
Risa... There was not one thing not to love about our heroine. All but one of our witches so far have been either abandoned, abused, or neglected. Risa joined the abused group. My heart hurt for her like it did for the others. But, of all the witches Risa had plenty of wit. Her comebacks to this gorgeous man were brilliant and so funny.
Linc... Our hero had a dark past. Linc went from rough cut to a stylish wealthy gentleman. There was a couple scenes where had I not read the previous books I might have disliked his comments, but I understood his struggle. In the end he was a perfect hero.
I've been trying to put these heroes in an order of who I love the best. I will probably have to wait for the last book, but Sutton may have to step aside for Linc. Maybe, I'll have to figure that out on my re-read of the series.
Best lines in a scene...
"Tell you what, hunter. I'm not your prey, and you don't pull that predator shit on me, or I'll find a gun and shoot your balls off. And believe me, I don't miss."
"Careful, dude. Magical shrinkage is real. I could show you next time you get an erection."
The moral to the story.... It doesn't matter where you come from or who you used to be, what matters is who you are today.
This series has it all, drama, suspense, and hot love making. My favorite author list is growing, because I've found another amazing writer and storyteller. Excellent read. Can't wait for the next installment.
Caged Magic is the 5th book in Lyon’s Wing Slayer Hunters series. I haven’t read any of the previous novels in the series and didn’t have trouble following the basic storyline. However, there were definitely nuances to the plot and characters that I missed because I was unfamiliar with the backstory. Because of this lack of context, there were aspects of the world building that felt awkward and cumbersome.
The female protagonist in Caged Magic is Risa Faden. She is a witch who is searching for her missing infant Goddaughter. She has fairly significant traumas in her past and has difficulty trusting others. The male protagonist is Linc Dillinger. He is a warrior who makes it his personal mission to save witches who are in danger and who has his own traumatic past to contend with.
The story follows a general mates-by-destiny format which is not a trope that I usually enjoy. As a reader, I struggle with the believability of two characters meeting and then BANG being instantly in love. Lyon expanded this trope by including some magical and personal problems that the characters had to resolve before they could find their HEA and while this did increase the tension in the novel, it felt familiar and didn’t make me any more invested in the characters story.
What I liked: Risa and Linc were likable characters; I enjoyed several of the supporting characters (particularly Ram and Ginny.) The writing was solid and the narrative flowed comfortably.
What I didn’t like: Some of the world building and backstory felt confusing (although this could be because I haven’t read the earlier novels in the series); The trauma aspects of the story seemed to weigh it down and felt repetitive to me as a reader; The overall story felt familiar and I grew bored toward the end of the novel.
Final Verdict:Caged Magic was ok but not great. Readers who are already familiar with the series will probably enjoy it more than I did. - Jessica
Author used her own brand of magic to weave hope and desperation into a beautiful love story.
The author gained an instantaneous fan for her Wing Slayer Hunter series with the release of the 1st installment, . I enjoy the inimitable mythos this world offers readers, but it is the tenuous relationship between the witches and hunters that entices me most. I devoured every single release until the series halted; leaving this reader impatiently wanting more.
I remember when was just a whisper of a rumor…and now that it is a reality I still want more. I’ll try to be patient, but I cannot make any promises. Here is to hoping that Primal Magic and Fallen Magic are released soon

This book like all it’s predecessors, took off with immediate action. In this third installment, we get the true story behind pretty boy Linc. And let me tell you, it’s a doozy. We learn some very disturbing things about him. His soul mirror has a twisted backstory as well, that intertwines into his.
As with the other books, this one is loaded down with tear jerking scenes of heartbreak and deception. We also learn a bit more about Ram and Ginnys downhill love. Which I cannot wait for.
Overall this book is filled with action, danger and soul shattering love. The characters and their world are unique and extremely entertaining. A book that is hard to put down.
If you love Blackdagger Brotherhood world, then you will love this. It is full of paranormal entities like Angels, demons and witches, oh my! And let us not forget about the steamy sexual encounters. Those alone will burn up the pages. So if you haven’t dived into the deep end yet, then I suggest you do it soon. Don’t forget your lifeline.
I was given a wonderful opportunity by the authors assistant Anna Cade to read a copy of this book for review. Let me start this out by being honest. I read this little over 900 page book in around 12 hours. It does have a few spelling errors and some missed words here and there but that can't be faulted at the author for she wrote a beautiful book.
Let us start with Lincoln Dillinger. If you read the first four books you'll have already met this enigmatic, good looking playboy who makes big money in the card room and charms the ladies with a beautiful smile. That's all well and good, who doesn't love a character like that right? But with this book you finally get to delve deep into what kind of man Linc truly is. You'll ride this roller coaster with him and get to see a depth you never thought possible. Your heart will ache for him, you'll cheer him on, and you'll fall in love a little deeper. Just like Axel, Sutton, Key, and Phoenix before him he fights with a purpose, he joined the others in their quest to protect the Earth Witches for a very distinct reason and you finally get to truly see it in this book.
Now for his mate, Risa Farden. She's a fierce, protective witch and the way she loves her best friends little girl makes me want to tuck up my own daughter right within my embrace and hold on for dear life and protect her from all the horrors of this world. But beyond all that is a woman unwilling to trust, but just so darn lonely. She is a wonderful edition to the rest of the mated witches, she adds to them and brings out more wonderful things about this world.
I highly recommend you get this book when it hits amazon! Don't hesitate! That little one-click button is beckoning and this time it's just right! If you haven't read the first four books of this series I suggest you read them first, not only because you meet the other characters in them but because the whole series (so far as there will be at least two more books) is a wonderful treat for any paranormal romance fan out there. I dare say that if you aren't a fan of paranormal romances this series just may make you change your mind.

REVIEW: The Wing Slayer Series is back! When Jennifer Lyon announced that she was going to write Linc's book to say I was excited would be an understatement. I 'girly squeeled' and then went to Facebook and Twitter and told everyone they needed to read this series if they hadn't read it. It's one of those series I tell everyone they should read because I just love it so much and I obsessed with characters. The Wing Slayer series is a hot paranormal romance series with swoon-worthy protective alpha males and their witches. I'm so happy Jennifer Lyon has picked up the series again and decided to self publish it. I have loved Linc since she introduced him in the series and he blew me away in Caged Magic! Caged Magic is a heart-wrenching, action packed, scorching hot and just incredible love story! It's also my new favorite in the series! Linc and Rissa were made for each other and the definition of soul mates. If you're a fan of the series you'll love the new book and if you're new you should start with book one, Blood Magic, and see why I'm so obsessed with the Wing Slayers. I can't wait for the next book!

I have been in love with The Wing Slayer Hunter Series since Blood Magic. Miss Lyon, created a series that is breathtaking, unique, sexy, and exciting. The Hunters are everything you hope for and MORE in heroes while the witches they protect and fall far, are sweet, brave, and each has gone through trials in their lives that led them to be incredibly brave and caring. In Caged Magic we get to see Link's story and get to meet his beautiful and strong witch, Risa. Both these characters were amazing. Both had also been through similar situations as they were growing up so both are fighting their feelings. But when these two start to work together and heal each other, their feelings start to surface and soon both are falling for the other.
I loved the tension between Risa and Linc. They were perfectly matched and the fact that Link wants to not only protect Risa but to heal her heart and soul while Risa wants the same for him brought tears to my eyes and a smile to my lips. The sex was also pretty damn steamy and just made me sigh and tingle all over as I watched these two wounded souls find solace in each other's arms. Caged Magic was beautifully written and the storyline was filled with just the right amount of action, suspense, and passion. This Wing Slayer Hunter Series is to DIE FOR and I can't seem to get enough!
Caged Magic got an AMAZING FIVE SHOOTING STARS! If I could have given it a TEN I would of in a heartbeat. It was heartwarming, nail-biting, and oh so good. If you love the BDB Series by JR Ward or Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed Series, then you will LOVE The Wing Slayer Hunter Series by Jennifer Lyon!
From the very beginning of this series, I have been a huge fan. A fantastic tale that is so exclusive, it stands out with it’s unique story line and captivating characters. Fans have waited a long time to read Linc’s story and the author has come through with flying colors not letting her followers down. CAGED MAGIC is an over the top winner. This sizzling paranormal read shows the incredible talent and powerful writing skills that Jennifer Lyon has. She makes me laugh, she makes me cry, and even makes me nervous over what is going to happen next. She even makes me blush and look over my shoulder to make sure no one is seeing what I am reading as the room suddenly seems to get very hot during those passionate and daring sex scenes. Yes, this book has it all and in my mind I am screaming, “Linc, I want to have your baby. LOL !!! This book is a must read. But do yourself a favor,...... start at the beginning of this series with BLOOD MAGIC and work your way up to CAGED MAGIC. I have no doubt, you will not be disappointed, it will only enhance you journey with these wonderful characters and their adventures sure to steal your heart. Note: From now on when I smell cinnamon, it will bring on a whole new meaning. Thank you Jennifer, I so look forward to the next installment.
I was so excited when Jennifer announced she was releasing this book, it feels like forever since we last had a Wing Slayer Hunter book.
I highly recommend that you do read all the books in order as there is an ongoing story arc that plays a huge part in this book and a lot of the secondary characters are characters we have got to know during the previous tales and it was great to catch up with them.
Linc and Risa I truly felt for. They both have difficult pasts and many obstacles and personal fears to get over before they can be together. I was rooting for them to let each other in and confide in each other as I was desperate to find out their secrets.
By the end of this story I was in tears, a part of it struck a chord in me. I am super happy that there will be at least two more books in the series as both Eli & Ram's tales are ones I can't wait to read!
Can I just take a moment to stand and cheer? Jennifer brought us Linc's story with the power and passion that her Wing Slayers are known for. It's like I read Ram's short story just yesterday.
I Have loved each and every Wing Slayer up until now but Linc was something of a surprise for me. He came late to the Hunters and I thought eh... it should be good and it will at least advance the story. Oh mama! Was I wrong! This was not an Eh book it was a WOW book!
Jennifer managed to make this uniquely Linc, to add some new characters to love (and hate) and yet maintain the flow and characters that we have come to love in this series.
Risa Faden is a witch with shield magic, a powerful tool that is slowly destroying her. Her past has left her almost afraid to use her shield and yet she knows this one last time she needs to find a way to make use of it. Her best friend, really her only friend, has need of her and Risa promises to be there for her. But when evil appears in the form of a baby's father, Risa claims the baby as her own and goes on the run. Only to end up being protected by the Wing Slayers and the oh so gorgeous Linc Dillinger.
Linc Dillinger was raised in a cage, literally. His only means of escape was a form of caged fighting that could easily leave one of the players dead. But he escaped and has dedicated his life to helping those who have no one else to turn to, at risk children. That doesn't keep him from remaining a true Wing Slayer Hunter and totally bound to his honor. Only a past drenching in witch blood left him almost lost and his team converted it to sex magic. A Wing Slayer always uses sex to help him through the dark times but Linc? He needs it all the time. So why is he suddenly enthralled by the sexy Risa? She's a witch who could destroy him? Or maybe save him???
Set in Las Vegas, we find out a lot about Linc. About where he came from and what makes him tick. He's a beast with a heart of gold and lots of mixed emotions. Jennifer wrote this warrior with a poet's soul and how can a reader not fall in love with him?
Risa on the other hand is a girl all grown up. A Girl who faced the atrocities her family committed in her past and rose above them. She knew evil, she was raised by it and still she turns away from the dark. Even to the point of putting her life on the line for a child that could be dangerous.
Honestly, I just loved this book! Another fabulous Wing Slayer Hunter Book and I am seriously hoping we see more very, very soon!

This review is based on the ARC of Take Me, provided by netgalley and the author for an honest review..
This book gave different feels. I felt protective of Linc and the little girl. I felt anger to Asmodeus. I felt bad for Archer. Yes bad. He was put in a horrible place and wanted to believe good of his mom and that she loved him. He was forced into a choice he didn’t want. Risa not sure about how I feel bad and sad mainly. Ram I felt so sad for he loved Ginny with everything but couldn’t be with her. His Falcon was cursed in a horrible way. Eli was wonderful but tragic as well. The battles, the struggles and the emotions of these hunters and of Risa and Linc are brought to life with the writing of Jennifer lyon as she draws you into this world and doesn’t let you go.
This group of Hunters were friends family and loyal to each other and their beliefs. When Risa is in danger and so is the child they don’t hesitate to protect her and try to retrieve the little girl. This after all is Linc Soul mirror. One he originally only wanted as a way to break his curse. After all he went through you can understand his hesitancy about letting anyone in. But as he got to know her and see her soul her true self he fell hard. These are two people who had childhoods that scarred them but with each other found peace and harmony. They didn’t judge each other for find each other to be ones to pity or disgusting. They saw themselves as survivors and ones that overcame their situations to turn into amazing people. when Risa finally admits the truth the betrayal to Linc was so heartbreaking, you knew it was coming but just felt so sad. You understood both sides especially as you watched and got hooked on the story of linc and how he fell for Risa and let his guard down. How him and his friends took in Risa and protected and helped her for her to not trust him was one that really cut deep into not only Linc but the reader for Ms. Lyon has you feel his emotions so fiercely with her words.
As the final battle ensures for Risa and the little girl we see the love and beauty of Linc shine through as he goes to hell and back for them to show his love and devotion. His friends fight to the end to help Risa as well.
A alluring story of two people damaged by their pasts and have a hard time trusting being each others soul mirrors and fighting for what is right no matter what. I am rooting for Ginny and Ram and Eli as well. Eli’s story is so so so tragically sad.
Oh how long I have been waiting for the next Wing Slayer Hunter book for what seemed like forever. I was totally thrilled to hear the news “Caged Magic was going to be released. As the release date neared the excitement grew.
“Caged Magic did not disappoint. Jennifer did a great job catching readers up on the series. With that said, this is definitely not a standalone. There is a lot of back history and it’s a great series so I’d recommend you read it from the beginning if you haven’t as of yet.
Action packed from the start. While the entire book is full of action, the pace ebbs and flows and the pace works perfectly for the story.
Linc is a great hero! We got to learn about his past and it’s heartbreaking. Because of his past he works hard to do good. He struggles with trusting others but knows it's something he must learn to overcome if he wants a future of any kind.
Risa is one tough woman and witch! She has had a tough life. She has survived and continues to fight to survive. One of the many reasons I LOVE this series is that all the heroines are strong, independent and smart women. They may need help but they are not helpless. They overcome their fears and become strong woman. In part because of their partners, this is due though because their partners believe in them.
Loved getting to know Linc and Risa together. They build a friendship and trust is a big factor. They are a great couple. I'm glad Linc got his HEA!
I was also extremely happy to read more about Ram and Eli. As well as to learn that their stories are coming up next! WOOHOO!!!
I loved this story! It’s a great continuation of the series!!
Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author, Jennifer Lyon via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This review is my own opinion and not a paid review.
First and foremost, I haven't read the others in this series and I really wish I had. This is number five, and it isn't crucial to the story if you haven't read the previous ones. I am just in love with this book, and now this series, that I'm all in. I have to get the others to catch up and I'm so excited to see what happens with the rest of the series.
But this is the story of a witch named Risa who is essentially saved by a Wing Slayer Hunter named Linc. As it turns out, they are soul-mirrors, which is basically like soul mates but far more. Once they bond their individual abilities are far more enhanced and then together they become a pretty formidable unit. Of course, both come with a boatload of baggage and while their relationship is based on a bunch of lies and half truths, you root for them the entire time because Risa deserves to not be a piece of sexual meat and Linc needs a good lady to love him. Throw in a whole bunch of danger, demons, hell fire, and nobody being able to find the damn kid, and it makes for a great book you really can't put down.
My only complaints are that some of the magical aspect is hard to follow. I'm all for detail and having a great back story into how the magic works, but some of it felt over my head despite it being pure fiction. Secondly, some passages/story lines are kind of drawn out. Like I could easily edit down a few things to shorten the book and you wouldn't feel like you've lost any kind of story. It comes in at 289 pages in my e-reader and that seemed a bit long. But even though it was long, it was still hard to put down. I had no problem whizzing through this in two days of interrupted reading, and like I said above, it was written well enough that I really want to be more invested into this series. So I'm going to have to give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars. Truly.
NUMBER OF HEARTS: 4 OH how I have waited for this book!!!! I am so glad that Jennifer was able to find the time to write Linc’s book. It was great to get back into the world of the Wing Slayer Hunters. In Caged Magic we learn a whole lot more about Linc and his past. I past that is beyond heartbreaking, yet it made him be a very strong person. We learn more about his Falcon and he is pretty darn amazing. We also get to see a side of Linc I was not sure we would ever see. Risa had a great life until her mother died, then everything went to hell. Risa is one tough cookie. She has dealt with so much in her past that it is amazing she has survived. But when Kendall's life is on the line she will do everything to save the child. Loved Linc & Risa together. Loved their battle to trust and love. Really liked the depth that Jennifer took us to with Ram and Eli. And SUPER excited to know that their stories are coming soon. To my fellow Wing Slayer Hunters: hang on this is a bumpy ride!!!!! To my newbies: you really need to start with book one Blood Magic. There is a lot of history that builds up to this book. And hey there are only 4 books in front of this one. Easy to get catch up!!!
Until we meet again Wing Slayers Hunters!!! Oh and Key??? You better show up more in the next book. Miss you and your dragon.

In the past books Linc has been one of the most tortured of the cursed Wing Slayers, fighting against the fallout of bis early life as much as the Witch Hunter bloodlust that is a part of his legacy. Finally, as he feels like he is on the brink of succumbing, he finds the one women who is his only hope of redemption, the women who is the other half of his soul, a woman who is just as broken and unable to trust as he is - but trust is the only thing that will save them both.
It's been years since Lyons published a book in this series (I think the publisher dropped it and this was self published), so I've had Caged Magic wishlisted since the day I learned she was picking the series back up. And even viewing the earlier books through the rosy filter of time, I still think that Caged Magic was actually better than the earlier books. It is still a pretty smexy paranormal romance - since sex is a component of the pair's magic- but the smexy parts had a purpose instead of being filler.
Linc is a well done tortured hero, there are good backstories for pair which keep the soul mate aspect from being a slam dunk - even though neither wil survive the events of the story without it. Plus there's a good background story that also allows for a nice setup for two more pairs - who have insurmountable obstacles to their HEAS - who will get books.
I am so happy that Lyon listened to her fans and gave us chance to return to her Wing Slayer world and I am looking forward to more.
Every now and then a book comes along that just captivates you and takes you within its very pages as if you were there living it with the characters Caged Magic is one of those books I just loved it.
Linc Dillinger is a Wing Slayer Hunter. He has endured more betrayal and torment than most but he is still here and keeping the innocent safe from the demons that lurk. Linc knows if he doesn’t find his soul mirror witch soon he may lose himself and face his demise.
Risa Faden is a powerful shield witch. Since she escaped her past Risa has spent her time protect others and now her friend has reached out for help to protect her and her daughter and Risa is determined to do whatever it takes to protect them.
Risa comes back to Vegas to get her friend out of the country but they are attacked by the demon father of her friends baby Kendall. After her friend is killed and Kendall is kidnapped by the demon Risa will do anything to get her back. Linc comes across an attack that involves a demon instantly he and Ram go to protect the innocent. When Linc finds Risa he knows there is something about her and it is not long before his Falcon makes it clear who she is. What is coming will take the Wing Slayers and others to join forces to bring down the demons if they are to protect everyone and themselves. Can Linc and the others help Risa save Kendall and will Risa and Linc be able to see through the pain of their past to take a chance on the future or will Risa’s secret destroy everything.
This story was so great! It had me up reading all night!
This is another book about the Wing Slayer Hunters. What a great group! The Hunters need to find their soul mirrors to keep from going rouge. Their soul mirrors are Witches. Witches have their own problems that only a Hunter can help with. In this story you will meet Linc and Risa. Their love story begins with each of them with terrible secrets that they don’t share with anyone. So much has happened to them early in life, that they feel broken. As I read their story I felt the excitement of them learning each other. How they began to trust each other. How loving each other was worth the pain and together they could do anything!
Jennifer Lyon is one of my: to be read authors. She tells such a great story teller and takes you on an exciting adventure..
This can be read as a stand-alone book. As you read it you might want to get the other books!
I thought this was a good addition to the series. I liked how Linc wanted to take things slow with Risa. Granted at first it was because he didn't want any woman, but later it was because it was because he knew it was because Risa needed it due to the her past. The time that Linc and Risa spent together allowed them to get to know each other, to learn that they had more in common than they realized.
I really liked how when Linc and the other Wing Hunters realized that Kendall wasn't really Risa's it didn't matter to them. They protected the child and that included the Wing Hunter.
I look forward to seeing where things go for the group from here.
I loved this fifth book in The Wing Slayer series. Jen does such a good job developing Risa and Linc's characters. The two of them have really led tortured lives and have serious trust issues. It's a miracle they even consider helping one another.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Sٴǰ 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥ٱ 🗡My God Jennifer Lyon's Wing Hunter Slayer books just keep getting better. I love the very different personalities she creates for the witches. And the same strong protective instincts for the Hunters. And how she weaves more mythos in the world with every book. 🗡This is Lincoln "Linc" Dillinger and Risa Faden. Linc has been the most enigmatic of the hunters because you knew there was so much under the surface of this man. 🗡Risa was amazing. Her dedication to saving her goddaughter no matter what was awesome. And the introduction of 2 new specific kinds of magic. Shield magic witches, and music witches. 🗡We get more building in Ram and Ginny's story. And we find out Eli knows the name of his soul mirror. Oh the revelations! 🗡The demons finding new loopholes and ways to take over. The trauma of past and moving forward is a strong theme in this story. 🗡I can't wait for Eli's story. Whatever has had Jennifer Lyon having to take her time though has been worth it. Literally every story gets better and builds on itself.
Looking through my unfinished series, I come across this book that's been sitting on my to-read list for the past 3 years. I gave the other books of the series decent ratings and remembered vaguely that I enjoyed them. So I decided to start up the series again. I should have let sleeping dogs lie because I did not care for this book at all.
Risa is a witch who is the soul mirror for Linc, a Wing Slayer Hunter. Basically, they are soul mates and can help heal each other through a sex bond (I'm not kidding). He gets his bloodlust cured and she gets access to a higher form of magic. But they are slow to trust each other and can't see this working out. But fate throws them together to try and take down a human/demon hybrid that's wreaking havoc all over Las Vegas.
The writing style was pleasant enough. Simple, direct and descriptive with how attractive and horny everyone is. I just found the characters and story line to be dull. I was more into a love triangle that was happening in the background. If there are other books in the series, I won't be reading them. If I come across this author again though, I'll give another title a chance. I am a sucker for paranormal romance, after all.
This series just gets better and better. The witches and wing slayers continue to battle demons and witch hunters, and Linc finds his soul mirror in Vegas. She is protecting her best friend and her baby from the literal demon spawn father of the baby when all hell breaks lose. Can these two damaged souls learn to trust again to save everyone they care about? Such a beautiful story, jam packed with action. 5 stars!!!
I love this. I love the chemistry and bond between Risa and Linc. I also love the example of being able to overcome trauma and change your story. I definitely felt there was a metaphor for letting of the past, moving forward and letting people in. I love how the second chance theme continues in caged magic and the feeling of found family.
This series had me Hooked from book 1 chapter 1, and I can't help but come back for more. Caged Magic reminded me just how much I love paranormal romance and I cannot wait for more of these sexy hunters and their powerful witches
