My husband & I love the series so much that we decided to name our child after the main character.
What is not to love about Nicholas. He is small, cutely naughty & believes to have the best parents in the world.
Nicholas is always up to something, mostly not good. He has group of friends alike him and they all get in trouble all the time & love playing.
Mikolay’s world is very simple, not too complicated by any kind of worries & full of childhood adventures, even though he isn’t any kind of a superhero. Besides, it consists of witty writing & brilliant illustrations.
This 1960’s French series (translated to many languages) is going to give you & your child so much fun. You won’t be able to put it away. And you’ll be back to Mikolay many times. We read it to our son every evening & he always asks for more.

Cuốn này mua do tùy hứng thôi ch� ko có ch� đích. Truyện đọc cho đ� chán cũng được nhưng mình cảm thấy không hay bằng cuốn Nhóc Nicolas (dù cuốn kia cũng không phải là hay xuất sắc).
Các câu chuyện nh� trong chuyến ngh� mát của bọn nhóc c� được mô t� lại nhưng không đem đến kết qu� gì, đọc xong cũng không đọng lại gì, nhưng nếu có 1 dịp nào đó 'đưa đẩy' có khi mình lại mua thêm 1 cuốn khác đ� đọc cho đ� buồn cũng không chừng. Nói chung với b� này thì không thích nhưng cũng không có gì mà ghét :).

Štýl písania je skvelý a stále aktuálny. Horšie zvládam fackovanie sa detí navzájom, bitie detí, stereotypné zobrazenie dievčat. Dala som hviezdičky s prihliadnutím na to, že to bolo napísané už naozaj veľmi dávno. Asi budeme v sérii pokračovať, len teda miera cenzúry pri čítaní (keď sa mi nechce vysvetľovať deťom) je pomerne vysoká.

کتاب را که می خواندم تنها بودم. یک جاهایی آن قدر می خندیدم که اگر کسی من را می دید بدون شک در سلامت عقل تردید می کرد. برای بار دوم بود که می خواندمش اما هنزوز هم تازگی داشت. شاهکار بود.

Summer vacation was always the focus of the school year, and this book serves up not just one but two summer vacations. In the first half of the book, we accompany Nicholas and his parents to a seaside vacation - unfortunately one where rain often stops play and the chicken fricasee in the hotel is abysmal! In the second half, Nicholas is sent off to summer camp, where the thrills of swimming in the ocean, making new friends and getting lost in the woods more than compensate for the odd spot of homesickness. You can feel the thrill of getting away from school, exploring new places and making summer friends on every page of this book - as well as share in Nicholas' ennui on the last day back home from vacations. Just so evocative, real and funny. Great stuff. I'm sad that I have just one more Nicholas book to read! However, I shall console myself with another series about school life that I recently discovered - the Ribblestrop books.

El tercer libro de una serie infantil clásica y atemporal. El pequeño Nicolás nos relata en primera persona sus aventuras durante las vacaciones de verano. La narración imita el estilo inconexo de los niños pequeños cuando están contando algo, pero es clara y fácil de seguir. Su punto de vista infantil es perfectamente consistente pero incompatible con el de los adultos, lo que lleva a situaciones humorísticas. Se satiriza la lógica infantil pero también en cierto modo la sociedad adulta. Las ilustraciones de Sempé son tan distintivas como la narración de Goscinny.
Nicolás y sus amigos son terriblemente traviesos, y el lector adulto simpatiza con sus padres y profesores al mismo tiempo que no puede evitar querer a Nicolás, que aunque sea un gamberrete es también sensible y tierno. Son relatos que divertirán a los niños pero también a los adultos. Muy recomendable.

Con este libro me lleve una sorpresa. Cuando yo estudiaba la primaria leí "El pequeño Nicolás" que ciertamente es uno de mis libros favoritos de mi infancia. Hace poco buscando libros me tope con este libro "Las vacaciones del pequeño Nicolás" fue amor instantáneo, en cuanto lo vi me emocioné horrible, di brinquitos como loca y me lo llevé.
Lo acabó de terminar de leer y ha sido fabuloso, reí como tonta y leer las expresiones que ya conocía, ver como narraba todo Nicolás fue increible, porque aquí nos narra dos diferentes vacaciones una con sus padres y otra en un campamento. Entre cada capitulo hay intervenciones de "narrador".
Lo cierto es que me entanta y Paulino me encantó en el último capitulo. Pero sin duda María fue la favorita.

This book is one of my favorite books! This book is funny, sweet and charming. Even though there are at least 4 or 5 "Nicholas books" in the series (so far) this one is my favorite. I like this one because Nicholas' mother is manipulative of Nicholas' father. I can read this book over and over again without ever getting bored. Nicholas is a fabulous read on a cold winter night when you can just curl up on the couch with a blanket. This book will make you feel warm. I highly recommend this book!

Je n'avais jamais pris le temps de découvrir cette série, je la découvre avec ravissement et je n'ai fait que rire du début à la fin ! Il y a un petit parfum de tendre nostalgie, le goût de l'enfance, de la bonne humeur, de la simplicité, une vraie joie de vivre, des bêtises, de la dérision, bref tout ça fait qu'on ne s'ennuie pas un seul instant. J'ai adoré.

Solo poche pagine , ma Nicolas è irresistibile. Molto francese questo mondo di adulti raccontato dal monellino anima pura.
L’ho scoperto tra i libri di un corso di francese, mi ci sono affezionata e se mi capita lo leggo volentieri, quando serve un po� di leggerezza.

What a find! Borrowed this for my kids but it's a book for adults, really. Lovely to hear about things from a small boy's perspective - such as how dads always make the decisions (!)

Maybe not my favourite of Le petite Nicolas adventures, but surely very summery! The fun is there as well as the humour, but not as much family dynamics and school fun as the others.

Totally delightful 18 short stories. Just as good as in previous volumes.
I have been reading them slowly with one of my French students. Great for the vocabulary and lots of colloquial expressions.
The author really knows well kids, their reactions and thinking. Hilarious situations and comments, all along, in things seen through the eyes of Nicolas.
