Amazing book! Ultimately, it teaches us to not be anxious about our future and to give every blessed day a chance! One thing I especially loved: Love like there's no tomorrow; if tomorrow comes, then love again like there's no tomorrow (...etc...)! Beautiful reminder of the beauty of God in the everyday lives of humans.

"Cum sa folosesti cele 24 de ore primite in dar?" Solutia autorului Lucado este plina de sens, utila si roditoare.

Partea I ne incurajeaza sa : -Tinem fruntea sus(fara ingrijorari)
-Multumire pt. fiecare clipa;
-Oferirea iertarii tuturora.

Partea a-II-a se refera la:
-Pace
-Speranta
-Tarie
-Credinta

Partea a-III-a :

The book cover is a bit misleading. If you just glanced quickly you might think it was a book about nutrition. The idea of the cereal though is that you are waking up to a great day. Cereal is a breakfast food. Still I think it could have a better cover. But the book is AMAZING.

The Best Christian Self-Help Book
I found this to be the most helpful and easy to read Christian self-help book. If you are struggling with shame, bitterness, feeling ungrateful, anxiety, fear, feeling depleted, feeling catastrophic, feeling purposeless or just plain feeling like what’s the point, this book is for you.

The book is laid out in chapters based on the type of day you are having with titles such as:

Mercy for Shame-Filled Days
Forgiveness for Bitter Days
Peace for Anxious Days
Calling for Purposeless Days
This is NOT a One-Time Read
Some books you read once and you never go back to again. This is NOT one of those books. I can see that this book will become one I go back to again and again. In general I don’t write in books because I want to be able to pass them on when I’m done with them. However I think I’ll be highlighting and making notes in this book. This is a book I’ll be cracking open each time I’m struggling to remind myself of it’s important lessons. I got this book second hand so some parts are already highlighted so it’s not just me.

Most sections start with a Daylifter which is a short section that encapsulates the main purpose of that chapter. Just reading these will really lift up your day, hence the name.

Each chapter has stories both from the bible and not that support the main point. I found them easy to read and simple enough to understand. This is important because you will be reading this book when your mind isn’t thinking clearly.

“Mark it down. You will never go where God is not. You may be transferred, enlisted, commissioned, reassigned, or hospitalized but brand this truth on your heart you can never go where God is not. ‘I am with you always, Jesus promised (Matthew 28:20 NKJV). Don’t be afraid; just believe. pg 87

The Perfect Gift for Your Downtrodden Friend
This would be the perfect gift book to give to your friend or family member who is struggling in any area of their life. If I could I’d buy 100 copies and hand them out.

I found this book at a library book sale. According to my daughter, who is a librarian, she says that the books they sell are probably donated and the library doesn't seem to have a need for it or it was probably never checked out and they decide to pull it out or got rid of it because it has a dedication on the front page. To Marcie from Sam (as I can tell) given in 11\6\2010. This young lady is now an older lady. She must've donated the book but Which ever the reason it landed in my hands. It was a gift, I found some many treasures. It is set like a devotion but it has a full story and a life lesson. I really enjoy reading all of them. It also has a bible study in the back so you can reflect on the lesson. A book worth finding. I am keeping it. The copyright is 2007 so you might not find it at all. If you do read it. It will bless you. Thank you Jesus and Marcie every story in this book. I pray that it bless your life as it did mine.

Ten easy read chapters encouraging us to treat each day as a fresh gift from God in spite of what may be lurking round the corner, sitting on the doormat or dogging our wakeful hours.

Max's style is unmistakeable, his illustrations appropriate and his conclusions obvious but not always easy for us to put into practice. He urges the reader towards mercy, gratitude, forgiveness, peace, hope, fuel and faith.

The book is divided into three sections: Saturate your Day in His Grace; Entrust Your Day to His Oversight and Accept His Direction. HIs conclusion acknowledges that, 'If you look hard enough and long enough, you'll find something to complain about', so urges us to look beyond all that and keep our eyes fixed elsewhere. Good advice.

I gave this book four stars; it was easy to read and the writer keeps your attention on a subject that can sometimes get very dry. A good quick easy read for anyone who enjoys listening to motivation type books or simply needs a quick azimuth check on their own life. I would have given it five stars had the writer not relied so much on his own personal religious beliefs in explaining how to give "every day a chance".

This is not one of his more profound books, but still has some nuggets of truth. I highlighted at least a line in each chapter.
📑
I didn't realize there is a reading guide in the back until about half way through. This portion solidified the chapter with scripture and questions to consider.
🌄
Easy to read. Good perspective. An over all good (but not great) book.

this book was really good and I enjoyed all the encouragement it gave. I enjoyed learning and just changing to this book and how everyday is a new day and even if you're in the midst of trials it's still a new day tomorrow and the next.

Always easy to read Max Lucas books. Sometimes, I need the light, wispy analogies. We tend to make life and faith more complicated than it needs to be.

“Forgive and give as if it were your last opportunity. Love like there's no tomorrow, and if tomorrow comes, love again. Max Lucado is an American author, and pastor that have written many books. He has won three Christian Book of the Year Awards. In addition, Lucado’s books are inspiring, thoughtful, and life-altering. After reading the book, Everyday Deserves a Chance I had an epiphany. I realized the things I was allowing to hold me back. Through the various stories and illustrations, I was able to sync my life into the words on the page, and from that moment, I never assessed each day the same. Although each day might vary, and I might face multiple challenges, I have learned to gravitate toward the positive aspects of the day and focus on the potential that still remains.
Furthermore, this book forced me to address some past hurts that I thought I had let go, such as forgiving my mom and stepdad. It did not dawn on me that I was carrying yesterday’s trouble into my future. Moreover, I was only limiting myself from being productive. Also, this book taught me to set goals and how to achieve them day by day. As a matter of fact, “Everyday Deserves a Chance, helped me to stop allowing one issue during my day to throw off my entire day. For example, if I was upset about something, I would stay angry, for the entire day. Now, rather than stay angry I address the matter and move on.
In essence, we live in a tough economy, and society is waxing worse by the day. However, it is not the events that occur in a day that matters, but it is the way one handles the matter that make the difference in the day. Therefore, I would highly recommend this book for anyone who is seeking change in their life. Similar to a mirror, “Everyday Deserves a Chance allowed me to see myself and all the potential that was going down the drain. In addition, I became aware of the countless opportunities that had and would continue to pass me by if I did not choose to give each day a chance.
P.S. Thanks Max God Bless you and your future endeavors!!!

"Basis: Everyday has hope. Everyday deserves a chance to be a great day. YOU have to make the decision to let the day be great. The book was very inspirational, had a great message, and was an well-written, easy read.

Okay, sooooo books riddled with bible verses are not usually my speed. Not that I have anything against the bible, I just often have problems when things get ""churchy."" Even though this book is chocked fulled of bible verses; I honestly enjoyed it.

Some favorite passages: p. 4 ""Days are the bite-size portions of life."" p.9 ""Yesterday...forgiven. Tomorrow...surrendered. Today...clarified.""
p. 115 ""If today were your last day, would you do what you're doing? Or would you love more, give more, forgive more? Then do so! Forgive and give as if it were your last opportunity. Love like there's no tomorrow, and if tomorrow comes, love again.""

Yes, this is a very sweet book. In addition to being uplifting, a lot of the stories were colored with darkness and gave some really interesting strategies for dealing with that darkness that lives inside of all of us. "

We read this with my Sunday School class. Even though I found it incredibly cheesy to the point of annoyance at times, I did find myself thinking of the book in a positive light when I was having a bad day. (I can think of one bad day in particular.)

For me though, there were too many lists. Like
. And I'm not a big Cathy fan. Also, the metaphors were a BIT over the top for me. But, I liked the anecdotes.

Sometimes, I think the cheesiness of it detracted from the overall message, which I thought was a really good one. That's why I'm glad we read it as a class, because we could hone in on the message and leave the cheese, the silliness, the overdone metaphors, the "I'm getting paid by the word so I need to add a little bit more here," behind.

Super cheesy. It felt very unrealistic and idealistic. The thoughts and overarching ideas were good, but the execution of the book was simply fluff and cheese. I do think a lot of the things in the book are effective in dealing with life in general, but just the way it's written... it feels out-of-touch, like Grandpa talking about how to be smart about using The Internet. I feel like I'm being told about life from someone who hasn't had a very interesting or difficult one.

The whole book is just the kind of feel-good tone that makes me roll my eyes a little bit... Maybe it's me being a little cynical toward a book that's very, VERY optimistic and not cynical even in the slightest. But I could hardly finish it, it was so fluffy.

This book caught my eye, because so many days, I get up and just live another day, finding many things to be sour about or complain about. But God's word says that this is the day that He has made, and to rejoice and be glad in it. Wow! How often do we do that?

This book was a good read, and worth your time if you struggle with being thankful for each day. Each day deserves a chance. It's a gift from God. He is capable of blessing you in the most unexpected ways. And even if everything does go wrong, He is still with you, and if you look hard enough, there is always a small blessing you can find.

Thinking this way isn't easy. But each day is a gift from God, and one we should be more thankful for. Being thankful is so key in life!

This was an amazing book, although most of the messages were very similar to those that are in . This book shows that every day can be a good day. It also shows how you can have hope and happiness when the situations that you currently are in are not very good.

I've read many of Max Lucado's books and this one has to be one of the best. Maybe it is just where I am as I read it, but it has encouraged me to think about how every day of my life fits into God's overall plan for me. It is fantastic and I may go back and read through it again once finished. It makes for a great daily devotional book of encouragement in the mornings.

A really good read. Informative, instructional & most of all, empowering! The section on 'The Choice' discussing actions & attitudes around Galatians 5's Fruit of the Spirit (v 22 & 23) is humbling

Max Lucado has a God given talent for teaching God's Word in such a way that 20th & 21st century citizens can be guided to God in a language & method they understand.
