Margaret Faith Ellenwood, Maggie to her friends, never wanted to run her parent’s candy shop in Marblehead, Massachusetts. But when her parents are suddenly killed in a car accident, she finds herself hanging on to the one thing she has left of theirs the Candy Castle.
The small family business has been a fixed feature in the small town for years and Maggie arrives just in time for the Christmas rush. Only, she soon finds out that the shop is far from thriving and the only rush she faces is the annual candy cane order from the Marblehead Girl Scouts troop.
For the last seven years, the Marblehead Girl Scouts have won the statewide Girl Scout contest trip to Disney World by selling Candy Castle candy canes. But this year, things are quickly going off the rails!
When the Candy Castle heated candy table breaks down and the repair man is mysteriously killed, Maggie finds herself sabotaged and wrapped up in a murder investigation. Will they ever find out who is to blame?

This was a fun, cozy mystery.
Maggie has moved back home and taken over the Candy castle sweet shop after her parents death.
When she needs a handyman to fix something at the shop and he doesn't turn up Maggie is really annoyed.
But little does she realise he didn't arrive as foul play was involved...
A nice, quick festive little read.

A fun seasonal short, inspiring for reading more in the series! A candy shop owner trying to get things ready for the season is caught up in the hunt for a murderer when her handyman fails to turn up. This was too short for me as it seemed to end pretty abruptly although the author did her best to tie up all loose ends making me think someone asked her to cut it. I am interested in more by this author.
