Welcome back to Goose Pimple Junction, Tennessee!

Rogues & Rascals in Goose Pimple Junction is an entertaining whodunit story with a southern twist! The author weaves an intriguing southern cozy murder mystery tale told in the third person narrative that immediately draws the reader in with its quirky humor and fast-paced action. This captivating tale has enough twists and turns that will leave your head spinning! Rich in detail and vivid descriptions, the story takes place in Goose Pimple Junction, Tennessee, a picturesque southern town with a lot of heart and charm. The description of the town and surrounding area was wonderful, there's nothing better than down home country charm and living. I loved how the author masterfully interwove Caledonia Culpepper and Wynona Baxter's trials and tribulations into a suspenseful and riveting story. This laugh-out-loud cozy mystery tale will keep you in stitches as you turn the pages following along with the townsfolks' southern charm, quirky "goosepimpleisms," and the sassy "Mama always says ..." quotes at the start of every chapter. You can't help but get caught up in the drama and mayhem that follows Caledonia and Wynona, but like the author says, there isn't a rogue or a rascal who can keep a good woman down. Mama always said there would be days like this . . .

The author has created a wonderful series that has a cast of characters with some pretty funny names/nicknames, and who are quirky and lovable, their southern charm, crazy antics, hysterical local dialect and dialogue will keep you in stitches. The reader is transported to the lovely southern town of Goose Pimple Junction, Tennessee, where the friendly townsfolk welcome you with open arms and sweet tea! I really enjoyed all of the characters, and I couldn't help but enjoy following how Caledonia, Wynona, and the little teenage troublemaker Jimmy Dean Howe's story unfolds with a wonderful balance of comedy, drama, and suspense that easily kept me guessing, and left me wanting more.

Rogues & Rascals in Goose Pimple Junction is a riveting southern cozy murder mystery that will engage you to join in the crazy adventures and trials and tribulations that occur, while providing you with a dose of good ol' southern charm and humor. So pull up a rocking chair and set down for a spell with some sweet tea while the townsfolk of Goose Pimple Junction tell y'all their story!

Rogues & Rascals in Goose Pimple Junction is the fourth book in the Goose Pimple Junction Mystery Series.

Poor Hank and Caledonia...Hank because he finally finds someone to catch his eye and whomp she isn’t as she seems. Caledonia because she is sweet as pie and a wonderful Southern Belle but someone is trying to kill her..And the why is just wow...

Our favorite characters are back with more phrases to have you laugh and smile and a town that has you feel warm and fuzzy and like you are there with them in Goose Pimple Junction.

We have our bad guys who blow the mind with their schemes..A young man who is angry and acting out but I think will end up on the straight and narrow. Wonderful whodunits that haves many twists and turns but you can’t help but smile and feel invited to solve it right along Johnny and his officers. Meantime Lou cracks you up with how she deals with a shoplifter, Junebug is a hoot with her slang for food and Clive and Earl just plum entertain with their banter at each other.

Here Caledonia takes the spotlight and we see that she is tough as nails underneath her Southern Belle charm..Watching her use her sweet kindness to win over people and help them at the same time warms your heart as does watching her take back who she is and own it..Her children are there for her all the way as well.

The story is fast paced and sweet but also keeps you on your toes and entertained as you figure out who wants her gone and why. The ending with Hank is sad but kind of leaves it open for the future maybe???

GOTTA LOVE THAT GOOD 'OL SOUTHERN CHARM

Starting each chapter with, “Mama always said… followed by a text with funny, idiomatic sayings, once again Ms. Metz displays her trademark Southern Charm. This time we are quickly drawn into her story by a “bad guy, waiting for a “mark”––comically renamed Mr. Polyester Pants. From there, the author introduces us to a whole host of likeable characters––a newly-hired, northern-transplanted gal with a head for investigation; an appealing, albeit mistreated wife; a misguided spinster; a young shoplifter; an assassin who is surprised to be waylaid by a lonely, country cop, and an adorable senior citizen who, after her stroke, only speaks in TV commercial slogans.

An engaging plot line that keeps you involved and LOL moments spiced with constant chuckles not only gave me a whale of a time reading this book, this ‘ol northerner, thanks to the fine storytelling and humor of the author, got an even greater appreciation for the South. Highly recommended!

EX: Several chapter beginnings:

“Mama always said . . . Most people deserve each other.
“Mama always said . . . Always remember it’s better to arrive late than to arrive ugly.
“Mama always said . . . If it’s got tires or testicles, you’re gonna have trouble. . .

Dollycas’s Thoughts

We are back in Goose Pimple Junction where there never is a dull moment. You will be laughing out loud at times and on the edge of your seat at others.

Caledonia Culpepper thinks she is doing everything right in her marriage but her husband has completely lost interest in her.

Wynona Baxter has come to Goose Pimple Junction for a job. A job to kill someone!

Plus the town seems to be overflowing with Rogues and Rascals.

Amy Metz takes us on hilarious and sometimes dangerous adventure. Nothing seems to go as planned for either Wynona or Caledonia, but Caledonia isn’t taking her lumps lying down. She decides to get the upper hand with a little help from her friends. Wynona is in over her head and things just keep going wrong, but she just keeps plowing ahead trying to do the job she was hired to do.

There is a wonderful cast of characters throughout the whole book. The are a eclectic bunch full of Southern charm, at least that is how they try to appear. Some of them are lower than low and as shifty as can be. Some of them you would want to be friends with if they could jump off the page and into the real world.

The story flows at a perfect pace with several unexpected twists.

I love the way each chapter starts with a quote from Mama:

Mama always said “Beware, some people will sell you a dream and deliver a nightmare.

Mama always said . “If it’s got tires or testicles, you’re gonna have trouble. . .

Mama always said “Age is like underwear, it creeps up on you.

This was such a fun read I really hated for it to end and just FYI it has one heck of an ending.

Another hysterically funny installment in the Goose Pimple Junction Mysteries!

Not your everyday cozy mystery series, author Amy Metz takes on murder, mayhem, and the south, like no other author I’ve read. I’ve never laughed so hard while reading a mystery. I have read some that are a lot of fun, but this series has been known to make me do the laughing-snort! You know you’re in for laughs with each chapter starting out with Mama always said . . . One example . . . “Mama always said . . . If it’s got tires or testicles, you’re going to have trouble with it. And each chapter has a fun title like . . . If It Walks Like A Duck.

ROGUES & RASCALS IN GOOSE PIMPLE JUNCTION may just be the best book in the Goose Pimple Junction Mysteries so far. Heck, it is THE best book in this series by far! Once I started reading, I was immersed in the very southern, zany town of GPJ. With all the quirky characters in this story, there was a good sized list of who-could-of-dunits in this whodunit. I was kept laughing and guessing until the reveal. And left feeling a little down that the book was done. But the good news is…I’m sure there will be another addition to this series coming soon!

You’re going to adore the writing of author Amy Metz, and have a blast when you read ROGUES & RASCALS IN GOOSE PIMPLE JUNCTION!

This book shot up my tbr pile quickly. I love Amy's use of alliterations. In fact, the book is full of such brilliant details, character names and locations that in themselves provide entertainment, even before the snappy dialogue and the individual personalities assigned to the characters do their magic. This is simply hilarious.
Witty, with great scene setting and wonderful aouthern flair this has long been one of my favourite cosy mysteries series.
It starts with an ominous murder scene, then flashes over to Goose Pimple where recently divorced Caledonia is getting grief from a bitchy clerk in a clothing shop. The play between the characters is very entertaining, as is the plot.
Some quotes:
"If I's shot you when I wanted, I'd be out by now"

"he traded in his 40 year old wife for two twenties"
This is a labour of love, well written, planned, fleshed out with excellent details and imaginative and funny ideas.

Highly recommended.

Southern at it's Best!

Amy Metz's Goose Pimple Junction is full of oddball eccentric characters that you just have to love. Their "southernisms" are awesome, especially for a northern like me. Metz does a wonderful job of weaving the plot threads around creating drama & a few surprises. I like that each book in the series has a different main set of characters while still keeping the old favorites. This actually allows you to pick up any of the books & start there, although I do recommend reading the entire series.

The down-home folks are back in GPJ with their fun Southern sayings and country manners--but with a twist. There's a not-so-nice new gal in town who's hell-bent on a mission of murder. Who'd want to kill one of these sweeter-than-pie locals--and why?
In the fourth installment of this fun cozy mystery series, Amy Metz shakes things up with a hardened hit woman who wreaks havoc on this Mayberry-like small town. Metz's smooth style is easy to read and flows from one surprise to the next with alternating POVs. Enjoy the ride--it's going to be full of twists and turns!

Another hilarious, laugh out loud, cosy mystery set in the wonderful southern town of Goose Pimple Junction. This is a strong series with wit, great authentic feel and excellent detail. Starting with brilliant choices for character names, such as Pickle Culpepper, and small side characters, such as a very snappy shop assistant, this is entertaining right from the start.
The plot is well thought-through, the pace just right to keep things flowing nicely and the characters are simply to die for.
I'm a big fan of this series and can't recommend it enough.

Another humorous mystery from Goose Pimple Junction. This focuses on hit woman, Wynona, and her first independent assassination attempt. There is a murder and a lot of botched attempts. Wynona interacts with the citizens in a variety of disguises, feeling there is something wrong with her assignment and with her career choice. Caledonia Culpepper, the victim of the multiple attempts is going through a contentious divorce and befriends Wynona is some of her guises. Lots of colloquial phrases and Southern humor. A bit silly, but fun.

Loved it! I didn’t realize at first it was book 4 but it was fine to read as a stand alone. I enjoyed the characters and the thrill of trying to find out who wanted cal dead. The characters are well written and as someone who has family from the south the dialect was spot on. All in all a fun book to read and I look forward to reading books 1-3

Hilarious and serious

I liked the down south references and the atmosphere. The characters were quirkywithout being too far out to be believable. Good story about deciding who to be.

Oh my, indeed!

Please don't let this be the last book in this series!!! Usually by the 3rd book of a series it's getting stale, but not this series! It's just getting better💕

I really loved this book. The twists and turns of the plot made it hard to put down. As a stay at home mom, I liked the positive perspective it portrayed. I can't wait for the next book to see what the future holds for the citizens of Goose Pimple Junction. Whatever it is, it will be entertaining.

If it looks like a duck..

It a very clever read...deeply developed characters...situations and twist. The Southern idiom gives the storyline humor and heart. Don't miss.
