He’s big. He’s bad. And he only wants one thing.

Revenge.

Ric Ryker spent years being called “Big Dick.

Ridiculed for his weight, shunned by all the pretty girls, snubbed by all the cool guys.

But after a secret journey of transformation, he’s back—ready to take over leadership from his father at Ryker Arms—with an impressive new physique and a plan to prove them all wrong.

Especially her.

The one woman who hurt him the most.

Annalesa—sweet, smart, stunning.

And his stepsister.

The girl he could never have.

The girl who wouldn’t look twice at him anyway—especially in front of her stuck-up friends.

Now he’s going to make her want him.

Show her just what she was missing.

And hurt her, just like she hurt him.

He’s got the weapon and he’s taken aim—but he didn’t count on his own heart getting caught in the crossfire.

This is a stand-alone novel with no cliffhanger ending.

BIG by Emme Rollins

DNF at 12%

This is definitely not a novel for me. When I downloaded this from Amazon, I was really excited to read it because I want to read a really good romance story. Sadly, this story isn't the kind of romance story that I'm looking for. It's very boring. The character- Annalesa- mentions nothing but Gucci material she owns, Ric, and how rich she is. She also feels the incessant need to mention she's European and Ric is American. I don't care and I'm just not interested in seeing where this story goes.

Cover Thoughts: I'm trash because the only reason I wanted to read this novel is because the guy is hot.

Big" gets a Big five stars from me! I had a hard time putting this book down!
Ms Rollins created an engaging plot line with emotionally evolving character's , a spicy romance and the occasional suspense!

Ricard Ryker, the son of Brad Ryker and heir to the family business Ryker Arms, has made huge life altering changes; he has spent the last four years of his life while away at college losing weight, working out determined not to be the overweight , tormented " Big Dick"'that they called him. Ric has changed but thanks to that torment he may be a New man on the outside but he carries the desire for revenge. Revenge against the kids who tormented him and revenge against the girl he loved; the one who he felt never stood up for him; his stepsister Analeesa LaFevre.

Analeesa has spent the last four years missing her step brother and now after the four long years she will finally see him at a joint graduation party for the two of them, but will he still keep giving her the cold shoulder. four years ago she realized she truly loved her step brother Ric when her mother and stepfather's plane went missing, believing that Ric was on the plane with them. Distraught at the potential loss of her family she realizes that she keeps thinking more about Ric, so when he shows up suddenly to wait for answers with her , the relief is palpable leading to a sizzling kiss. A kiss that leaves Leesa wanting more, but Ric pushing her away. Will he keep pushing her away now four years later?
When Leesa arrives from Paris back at the family compound she is surprised to find a God like figure , one she likens you Thor ( yes I pictured Chris Hemsworth for the rest of the book) tall , broad, muscular, covered in Norse Tattoos, long blond hair on the family gym. Obviously a freind of her stepfather Brad ! Reasoning it would be rude not to introduce herself she moves to do just that only to get the surprise of her life, this Thor like man is her stepbrother Ric.
Not only is Ric's body new , but he is no longer trying to avoid her and the encounter that comes only sets the platform for the rest of the book.
What Leesa does not realize is that Ric's intention is hurt her emotionally the way he felt she hurt him.
Besides the drama between Ric and Leesa and their romance, there is a deeper dark plot going on behind the scenes, behind everyone's back born out of greed and jealousy that may change everything .
Will Ric go through with his revenge plot or will his re- emerging feelings for Leesa win out?
Will the evil lurking amongst them bring it all tumbling down?

Arc Graciuosly supplied by author for an honest review.

This is a great story. I loved the characters. Ric Ryker and Annalesa are stepbrother and sister. Annalesa has always loved Ric, but her friends always ridiculed Ric for his size. The two of them go to college in different countries. The next time they are together Annalesa is hurt by Ric but he is also hurt. This is an involved story of love and revenge as well as murder and suspense. I received this book free in exchange for an honest review.

This book is told from Lessa's point of view not Ric's as hinted in the description. Overall a great read with lots of history, drama, action, and twists! Highly recommended for you to partake in the journey of Richard and Lessa from step siblings to regaining each other's trust and finding their new relationship.

I enjoyed this book. I was a little confused at times but, that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Ricard Ruker is a damaged and insecure man. On the outside he appears changed but, he still carries the wounds of his younger years. He was ridiculed and bullied for being over weight and he's spent the last 4 years transforming himself. Now he's back to seek his revenge on his tormentors.
Annalesa Lefevre is a young woman who just graduated from college. She's very beautiful and very sad. She misses her Step-brother, Ric. It's been four years since the last night she saw him. The night she realized something life altering. The night he pushed her away and turned his back on her.
Now they are forced back together as their parents throw them a joint graduation party. What will they say to one another. Will he push her away again? Will she still look as him as the fat guy he once was? Will they allow past mistakes and hurts to keep them apart or, will they forgive and allows themselves to experience what they have both secretly craved for years?

You'll just have to read to find out! Great job, Emme!

I was so glad Emme let me have a copy so I could let everyone know it is a good book! I was really pleasantly surprised by this book! It was more intense & complicated than the description lets on! It is well written & the Characters in the book (good & bad) are very complex & complicated the further into the book you get! I loved it! I laughed, cried, got angry, was sad & rejoiced! There were a lot of twists & turns in the book before you get to the end that keeps you guessing & you will never get bored. It shows you on the very 1st page how Ric Ryker & Annalesa LaFevre feel about each other in the Prologue. The book takes you through each of their lives & shows you how they grow & become the adults that someone can be proud of. Emme peels back the layers on their lives & themselves to reveal their true selves. I would recommend this book if you like to read of people who triumph against all odds! If you read it have some tissues but it will be worth your while to read even though you will cry some!

I loved this book. It is full of action, drama, twists, suspense, and love. The two characters Ric and Annalesa are stepsiblings. No spoilers from me, but don’t miss out of reading this book.
Emme has done a fantastic job in writing this book, and I could not put it down until I finished it. Will look forward to reading more of Emme’s work in the future.

I was given this arc for an honest review. I'm sorry, I just couldn't get into the story. There are books out there that a person can just relate to the H or h, but unfortunately this is not one of them.

At times, the scenes tend to get long and drawn out which made reading the story a bit tedious. Ric and Annalesa had their work cut out for them to find their hea.

This book started off very well but got to be far too revenge- like and I actually ended up hating the guy who was supposed to be the heart-throb and the girl for putting up with him and his crusade.

The main characters are Rick and Annalesa; two step-siblings who had a thing for each other when they were teens. But Rick was a big guy and was bullied because of it giving him low self esteem and making him think he could never get her. Now they're both all grown up and Rick has lost a lot of the weight he was carrying. They still feel the romantic attraction but more than anything else Rick has a lot of hate and a revenge plan that he's putting into action.

The most noteworthy secondary characters are mainly the parents of Rick and Annalesa to be honest and they didn't really have much impact on the main characters.

The storyline is OK but did veer for me too far from the romance and more into the revenge. The pacing is ok but towards the middle of the book but it overall did not detract from the reading experience.

The MC Ric should have kept his name BIG DICK because he IS. He is so vengeful and has so much BS on why he is gonna test her and blah blah blah.... BLAH! He was TSTL! She's a doormat that's TSTL! Too much whining and explaining and ARGH!!! The final straw for me before this became a DNF at 65% was when they get to a cave somewhere up north.... in Norway and he leaves her on a bed made of furs next to the fire pit in the middle of the cave...... To.... are you ready for this........................ TO PUT ON A F'N LOIN CLOTH TO GO HUNT FOOD!!!! NO! JUST HELL NO!

I received an ARC of this title in exchange for an honest review and here it is: 5 stars.

This is the first novel I've read by this author and I'm impressed--this is far from and so much more than what I expected from a book subtitled "a bad boy stepbrother romance", but first, let me state, as I have past reviews of novels in this sub-genre, that I find absolutely nothing taboo or forbidden about two adults raised as step-siblings falling in love with one another. It's neither illegal nor immoral, and who would possibly understand someone better and more thoroughly than someone raised in the same household by the same two parents. It's certainly a far a cry from incest, which is both illegal and immoral.

Off my soapbox and on to the story. Ric Ryker was a big kid, both in physical size (6'5") and weight, and, as such, he endured some hellish years in school because of it, teased and called "Big Dick". His stepsister, Annalesa, chose to hang with the popular, wealthy, stuck-up crowd, and as they grew into adulthood, Ric assumes that he'll someday run his his father's multinational armaments corporation, and Annalesa, plans to study art history in Paris, until Annalesa hears that the family plane has gone down, carrying Ric and their parents, and she realizes that the loss of Ric would break her--she's always cared for him deeply. When he shows up alive, telling her he wasn't on the plane, she kisses him and he kisses her back, but he's angry with her for always seeming to side against him, doing nothing to stop the teasing and taunting he's endured from her friends. When they learn that their parents are safe they get another shock, they are not only safe, they are separating. Annalesa's mother is taking her back to England, and the next morning when she goes to find Ric, he's already left the family home.

Fast forward four years, and Annalesa is just back in the U.S. after getting her degree in art history for a joint graduation party being held at what had been the family home in Maine. She's had no contact with Ric during that time, and he's never responded to any of her attempts to contact him. Thinking she's alone, she's surprised to find a huge, toned, muscle-bound, tattooed hunk working out in the family gym--and stunned when she finally realizes it's Ric. And so it begins, but Ms. Rollins doesn't just tidily wrap up this romance in a neat bow, and all is not as it seems. Ric, also attracted to Annalesa, doesn't trust her, or anyone else, and their road to romance is a bumpy ride.

Additionally, these two are of age for their trust funds to be turned over to them, and they're huge. Ric is being groomed to take the helm of his father's armaments company and Annalesa dreams of opening an art gallery in Paris. But there are others in the picture, and as their relationship progresses, there are many secrets to be revealed, hidden plots and a whole lot of suspenseful action to follow before this standalone novel reaches its conclusion, and the twists and turns make this novel almost impossible to put down.

What an awesome read! The author has presented us with an extremely well written, easy to follow book that is action packed, full of intrigue, trust issues, back-stabbing, well hidden feelings, and a love that will endure almost anything.
When Annalesa thought she had lost all of her family in a plane crash when the private jet they were in disappeared, she could feel herself falling into the deep pit of despair. When her step-brother, Ric walked into the room, she literally threw herself at him, finally revealing her true feelings, not in words, but in actions, with a kiss that not only shook her world, but Ric's also. She has always loved him despite what all her friends say about him, and couldn't fathom the thought of loosing him forever. Ricard, better known as Ric, has always been ridiculed throughout his school years due to his size. A big man, over six and a half feet, and about 100 lbs overweight, he was always there to protect Leesa. She may be his step-sister due to the marriage of their parents, but that didn't stop him from loving her, and not in a brotherly fashion either. With perceived feelings of betrayal, he sets out on a journey of change and revenge. After over three years of silence, they reunite for a party given to them by their parents to celebrate their respective graduations from university, and to receive their trust funds, as they come of age.
So much action and heartbreak going on in this book, there is no way you could possibly not "feel" for the characters. I will warn you, that once you start reading, you won't want to put it down, so make sure you have a day or two, depending on how fast you read, and no interruptions, grab a bottle of wine or two and some snacks, and settle in for the read of your life. Absolutely loved this story!

This is the first book I've read by this author and am glad that I found one of her books. It was worth the read. As a teenager Ric was picked on about his weight, given the nickname "Big Dick", and was in love with his step-sister. He left with his father the night, their parents announced they were separating and didn't speak to AnaLeese for four years. They would communicate through e-mail but no family get-togethers. As AnaLeese and Ric were graduating from college, their parents threw a party and they come face-to-face again for the first time. Ric has changed so much that she doesn't recognize him at first. Like Ric, AnaLeese has had feelings since she was a teenager, but Ric is still angry about being made fun of. Ric had come up with an elaborate plan to get her to fall in love with him again and then leave her, ruined. What he didn't count on was his feelings putting a kink in his plan.

Just when you think that everything is being tied up, something else happens that grabs your attention back into the story. After Ric begins explaining his scheme to her I feel sorry for everything that he has continuously put her through in order to force her to prove her feelings and to show him that he can trust her. Then the unthinkable happens and they are forced to return home to deal with unthinkable loss, thinking they know who to trust bites them in the end. Through revenge, tragic loss, and being forced to hide their relationship these two have a forever love and come out stronger in the end. I was glad these two got their HEA!!

I received an ARC of this book in return for a review.

Ric and Annalesa are step siblings who seem to find each other after years of separation and distrust. There always was a spark between them but Annalesa had done nothing while her friends had made fun of Ric even after he had come to her defense at a ballgame. But now at a graduation party that their parents are throwing for them the spark seems to be rekindled but they must keep their interest in each other a secret.

But is Ric serious or is he out to use Annalesa to get back at the ones who had made fun of him as he grew up? Or is he interested at getting back at Annalesa? The drama between the two of them is played out as Ric takes a higher position in his father's firearms company and Annalesa tries to establish herself in the art gallery business in Paris. Ric wants to build himself up as a true Norse warrior and he wants to bring Annalesa along with him. But there are rumblings in the company as Ric goes about his plan for revenge on those whom he felt did him wrong long ago. It comes to a point when they have sworn their love to each other and the business is near to be taken over by an old and trusted "friend". After tragedy hits they must fight together to save the company from others' grasp and in the process Annalesa becomes his shield against all who would stand against him.

This is the first Emme Rollins book I have read and I plan on looking for more of the same in her past works and ones to come in the future.

This is the first book I have read by this author. I will be reading more. I was uncertain as I started to read this book. I've not read step sibling romances and was hesitant. However, the book is well written, well thought out and the characters are believable.
This story is a story of the overweight stepbrother(Ric) who was belittled by the stepsister's (Annalesa) friends and just about everyone else. Believing Annalesa, who he loves and protects, has also betrayed him, Ric sets out to transform himself and get revenge on all of them. Annalesa is in love with Ric but insecure. She is hurt that he has cut off all communication with her. But now they are graduating college and their parents, who are now divorced, are throwing them a joint party. Annalesa is shocked when she sees Ric. The weight loss, the hair, the tatoos, WOW! As they reunite the sparks fly. But will Ric's plans for revenge undermine their future? Can they overcome the stigma of having been stepsiblings? And when push comes to shove, can they make it out alive?
I loved this book.It is rich in Norse culture and mythology. It has twists and turns, romance, suspense, It makes you feel a multitude of emotions. You find yourself cheering them on and then holding your breath. I received ARC for an honest review. And I would honestly highly recommend this read.

4 big stars!

After four years, Big fat dick is back with a body to die for and a ferocious determination to take revenge from all the people who hurt him, laughed at him and made his childhood a hell of a life including Her.

He would make her fall for him then he would leave her crushing, aching his loss like she did to him years ago.
"I wanted you to love me-to fall so hard, that when I left, the weight of it would crush you".

But how can he hurt her while she was his Valkyrie and all he wanted was to protect her, love her, claim her and make her his as long as he lived.

As his stepsister, Leesa should be the last woman Ric should want. But there was something about her that made him tied to her. Confusing feelings he couldn't decipher. Like hate and love entwined.

"They say there is a fine line between love and hate....Razor thin. I loved you and hated you in equal measures".

Analyssa knew that all she wanted from life was Ric's love. She would do anything possibleto make it up to him, gain his trust and show him how much she loved him.

"You could break my heart a million times over and that wouldn't even change. I will always love you. "

An amazing book with so much unexpected and surprising events, a beautiful story full of hope, lust and strong feelings.

Ric and Annalesa have a complex relationship. They are stepsiblings that bounded as friends when their parents married. Ric always had Annalesa’s back and wanted to protect her. But Ric struggled when her friends picked on him which pushed him away. When Ric reemerges in Annalesa’s life, he is on one path, revenge and retribution. As he his plan unfolds though, he finds what he felt for Annalesa is still there and maybe everything he thought in high school isn’t all it seemed. Annalesa is so excited to have Ric back in her life and is truly surprised by his transformation. As they rekindle their relationship, Ric tests her which ultimately tests the love she feels for him. As they continue to explore their feelings, forces threaten their family and the company they own. Will their love survive this test? Can they protect each other? This started a little slow for me but the overall story is very enjoyable especially when I finally understand Ric’s ultimate plan. Worth diving into and experiencing this taboo relationship and all the sexy, drama filled moments.

This is my first time reading this Author, and was given the book for a review.

BIG...Revenge!!

This is about Step brother and Sister Ric Ricker and Analese Lefevre. Ric had been tormented his whole life about being overweight. He decides he is going to change his life loose the weight become extremely fit and seek revenge against the people who had teased him, including Analese who he felt never stood up for him.
Analese who Went through her own troubles trying to fit in at the school she had gone too, she also did not like confrontation.
They have both finished university and their parents held a graduation party for them...they have not seen or spoken to each other since they fought 4 years ago.
I found Ric was the one who really needed to leave the past behind, he tested Analese all the time on whether he could trust her or not. Analese needed to speak up for herself and have some confidence.
This book had lots of life lessons, obstacles to tackle, and serious heart aches. Will Ric and Analese get threw all this and live happily ever after??? Good book!!

Big was a book that pulled me along for the journey. Ric and Annalesa are step-siblings and while Ric was the BIG brother, Annalesa was the stunning younger sister he always looked out for. While being young and unknowing, Annalesa hurt Ric and when she needed him most, he didn't believe her intentions to be true. After going away and growing apart, a celebration is scheduled for their college graduation party, and after not seeing one another for over 4 years, there is ALOT of BIG changes. Find out how far someone will go for revenge, even if it's the one person who has loved him all along.

With corporate games afoot, Ric won't have just Annalesa to deal with, but another friend who is supposed to be like family is looking to rip Ric's family apart. Friends turned Enemy and supposed Enemies turned Lovers, the tables get turned and lives and love is in the crosshairs. Gripping and Heartbreaking, follow Big Ric and his journey to revenge, loss, and love. #oneclickworthy

This is the first book that I have read by this author, Emme Rollins, and I can't wait to read more! This is a standalone! I had originally received this in advance, but loved it so much, I had to purchase it! Ric and Annalesa are step siblings, and people treated them like Beauty and the Beast. He was picked on due to his size and weight, while she was the pretty and popular one. Ric leaves home and later returns transformed from a beast to the prince any woman would dream of. Except, he has plans of revenge, especially for Annalesa, who ignored him and never stuck up for him. However, Ric and Annalesa never told each other so many things that should have been said. Now, so many obstacles and rocky roads are being thrown into the mix, along with his own plan for revenge. Can they say what they want? Can Ric get over the past? If you are emotional like me, grab some tissues and start reading! Fair warning...you will want to read this book in one night!

This is the first time I have read a book by Emme Rollins and I must admit that I thoroughly enjoyed reading this intriguing book and it is not the typical step-sibling romance . This story covers Ric Ryker, who when he was younger was ridiculed for his weight, but then went through a transformation and decides to get revenge on his stepsister Annalesa Lefevre, the one woman who hurt him the most. Annalesa Lefevre, on the other hand misses her Step-brother "Ric" and she does have feelings for him. In this story you will find drama, suspense, intrigue, revenge, action, murder, betrayal, friendship, falling in love, romance and erotic scenes. The story-line and plot is well thought out and written. The characters are well developed with realistic emotional feelings, needs and desires. I would definitely recommend this book to people who like to read a fantastic well written bad boy stepbrother romance.

ARC received in exchange for an honest review

I have read quite a few step-siblings books before but I wasn’t quite sure what to make of this one after reading the blurb. I expected it to be the usual step brother/sister type of romance but it wasn’t and I enjoyed reading it until the end.
I was kind of annoyed and frustrated when I first started reading this, I’m not quite sure what it was or why, but once the story continued I was looking forward to read what’ll happen next. After about halfway the story started getting really intense and I could not put it down.

It is told from Annalesa’s POV, which I thought was different considering the blurb focused solely from Ric’s perspective. I like how much each character changes throughout the book and all the things that were sacrificed. There were surprising twists throughout the story that I never expected and had me yelling and annoyed at some the characters. But, however, it was still a great read for me.

Well done story. It struck me that this story is about facing fear; of the past, the future, of what others think and say. Ric and Leesa have issues that need facing. I loved and hated their time in the cave. Ric loves Lessa enough to know that he needs to lay everything on the line. He's willing to risk loosing the one person he loves completely to be totally honest with her. That takes an amazing amount of courage. I was impressed by the changes I saw in Leesa. She becomes much stronger and self assured. Her willingness to stand up for herself, demand answers, build a career and become more insightful made me like her. Her willingness to forgive and to love Ric unconditionally made her a hero in my book. The only thing that kept this from being five star was the long drawn out descriptions that didn't really add to the story.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. Ric is hell bent on getting revenge against the one person he has had a love/hate relationship with, his step sister Annalesa. She has always liked Ric but has lost touch with him after she kissed him one night when they thought their parents were missing. Now Ric is back and he isn't Big Dick any more. He has lost a ton of weight and has transformed his body into that of a Norse God. But he is testing Annalesa to see if she is really sorry or if she is just pretending to love him. He has a plan for his revenge but she is making him understand what love is all about. Together they will pass each other's tests and realize that real love does exist. This was a great story that has a little bit of everything. Once again another amazing story.

I really enjoyed this 'ugly duckling to sexy swan' style story with the twist that the ugly duckling is a man.....Ric was the unattractive "fat kid" who after deciding to make some serious changes in his life, comes back looking like every girls dream man....unfortunately for them Ric hasn't forgotten how they all treated him so he decides on a little revenge....especially for the one girl who hurt him the most, Annalesa......and things are going well with his plan to make her want him more than any other man before.....unfortunately for Ric he starts to really like the way his life feels with Annalesa and starts to forget his plan of revenge and starts to plan a future with her instead but secrets will be revealed that could shatter any happiness that they could have.....can they get back what they have? Well you'll just have to read it and find out for yourself

Great Read !
Admittedly the step-sibling crush thing not usually my cup of tea But this action packed story had my hooked.

They haven't seen each other for years Back to celebrate their graduation, Ric and Leesa find their school crush quickly builds into a fully fledged needy attraction. There are a lot of mind games being played by Ric throughout the secret lust - filled affair making Leesa question their relationship is it real? Or a test..

The Ryker family business is not for the innocent, it brings in a wealthy living style but at what cost? Stepbrother Ric's upbringing is almost navy seals quality, with constant last minute missions and military training. This book had me in a whirl of emotions, so much going on just when you think you have it all worked out it takes an unexpected twist.

Big by Emme Rollins is a story about step-siblings Ricard (Ric) Ryker and Annalesa (Leesa) Lefevre. Rics life has been filled with ups and down that have left him emotionally and physically scarred, feeling vulnerable as well as unable to trust others. Known in high school as Big Dick due to his weight, constantly teased and tormented, Ric with the help of a mentor has spent years rebuilding himself to become the man he always wanted to be. With one goal in mind, Ric is filled with vengeance for those who have deeply hurt him including his stepsister Leesa . He must journey through many obstacles and suffer loss to regain his true self. With the love of a good woman, Ric can finally heal. The story was captivating and had many plot twists. I really enjoyed it!

Compelling story with lots of twists and surprises. Interesting premise of a guy who has lost a lot of weight and remade himself. Unfortunately, Ric’s body is fixed long before his brain. He comes home focused on getting back at all the people who wronged him when he was fat. He seems to be a nice guy at first, but then his devious and manipulative ways turn him into a real jerk and left me wondering why Annalesa doesn’t just tell him to go to hell. By the time he eventually sees the error of his ways, the book turns into a violent murder mystery. There is a happy ending, but there are terrible losses along the way.

I want to thank Emme Rollins for writing a complete and full-length book (over 400 pages). It’s so frustrating when a book is split into multiple 100+ page stories, as a lot of writers currently do.
