In a single word, this book is stunning 鈥 in a very good way. By its very nature, poetry is difficult to write, because within its brevity, we must capture the wealth of human emotions. Experience is a hard taskmaster. Yet, while we labor at the oars of life, we become stronger, more aware of the ripples surrounding us, and more patient and understanding of our own foibles. All of these things, and more, Ms. Wilde has captured within these pages.
I read this book of poetry in a single sitting. I couldn鈥檛 put it down! I find much with which to identify in her poems. Some of my favorites are A Lady To Be A Man For, I Wonder, Dance, To Dad, Beauty & the Beast, Perfectly Alone, Only the Bartender Knows, Men, Permission, and Ice Queen. I cite the poem Permission as an example of Ms. Wilde鈥檚 talent:
Permission
You can鈥檛 love a woman until you have seen her taking her make-up off screaming at her hair, sleep walking, painting and erasing flowers on her hand.
You can鈥檛 love a woman until she lets you.
Is this not the essence of a woman? I believe that a woman must allow you to love her, to feel confident enough for the great reveal, to be brave enough to let you see her at her worst, and to share with you the creation of beauty where none exists.
This is a literary voice which should be shouted around the world. Ms. Wilde has great depth of feeling for one so young. I shall follow her triumphant entrance into the world of words and celebrate every future publication.
Speak Heart!: Make Them Hear by Charly Wilde is a beautifully written book of poems. Each poem will tug at your heartstrings or your emotions. The author Charly Wilde has amazing talent that shines through with her words.
Each poem is beautiful. Whether they are sad, happy, or thought provoking, they each invoke an emotion. They are empowering. Each poem flows beautifully and easily.
I really enjoy the author鈥檚 style. I look forward to reading their future works. I will recommend this book to others. I give it 5/5 Platypires.
I received a pdf book of these poems, but maybe not the full edition as it only has 14 pages, only for this reason I give 4 stars instead of 5. Anyway the poems that I read captured me they were beautifully written and each poem is spare in its beauty and simplicity, and spoke to my heart.
(lips, be silent) SPEAK, HEART and this time make them hear!
Bulgarian poet Charly Wilde (the professional moniker for Ralitsa Gencheva) earned her degree in Economics worked in the field of Finance for large international companies. Now she steps way from the corporate world to embrace her passion for writing and presents another book of poetry 'SPEAK HEART make then hear'. In her brief biography she states that she 鈥榙oesn't believe in people with no sins and in love without madness and believes that the beauty of the words can awaken the dead souls and savage the living ones.鈥
This book is richer than the other brief collection 鈥 69 poems in all. The poems are brief, cogent, heart felt and readily accessible for lovers or for those who yearn for love. Strong work here, suggesting that Charly is a true poet with much to say and express.
Some examples of her craft follow:
IT WOULD BE ME
he leaves everything unfinished. sits before the piano and plays part of a song. makes breaks in the fastest sentences. first calls too often t hen too rarely. forgets things so that he comes back and leaves in the morning without waking me.
he does the most beautiful things never finished and it suits him.
I am afraid that one day he will put something to an end and this would be ME.
DEPRIVATION
you stole my sighs, trembling voice and virgin heart for years ahead.
you left me just enough so that I don鈥檛 die
from air or love deprivation
TOO LITTLE
words well wrought but unspoken, bed done but empty, you鈥檙e almost here but you鈥檙e gone.
how little is life without you.
Honest, provocative, and intensely felt, these poems strike the right chord for those in love 鈥 or in need of it.
"Speak, Heart: Make Them Hear" is a beautiful book of lyrical poetry by Charly Wilde. Each poem is spare in its beauty and simplicity, and each poem will speak to your heart. The mark of a true poet is one who speaks to many, on multiple levels, and each one of these poems will conjure different images and feelings for the reader at different times. This is a book to savor and come back to time and again. There are times when just a few words, written in exactly the right way, with the right cadence, can say more to your soul than a whole world full of books. Charly Wilde is definitely a true artist to watch.
