A scholar. A doubter. A helper. A beloved student. A murderer. A serial Killer. A truth-searcher. A devotee of the Buddha. A monk. A bhikkhu. A mass-victim.
The protagonist of this simple yet harrowing tale transforms over time, from a simple man who have set out to search for the path of knowledge and truth, transforms to a monster, due to his willingness to be one. Due to delusion, and circumstances. Because, in the end, it is only choices, and paths that we tread upon, we decide who we want to be.
The prose is heavy with words. It took time for me to grasp each and every meaning. There are deep metaphors and conversations and philosophy embedded in the writing, that makes you think and question almost everything you know. Nowhere, you find an unrelated tug of extra words pushed out of the scope of the story.
A serious read! Recommended, if you want some change from light reading!
