I do not recommend this book because there are many misogynistic and patriarchal views of the narrator / author. The first story literally describes how, despite the woman's radical denial of sex with the narrator, he started to undress the woman anyway, which made her very much scared. He only reacted to it with a laugh.
Very disgusting descriptions of narrator / author's thoughts towards women. I am disgusted and very nervous after reading this.
The stories are generally better than in the first collection by the author. Still, the book is very uneven despite a unifying pervasive tone of melancholy. After reading a disappointing story, I would put the book away, only to pick it up again after a month or two. My favorites are A Night by Train and Several Hours by Bus and Seven Demons of Magdalena. I should check out Andriy's poetry.
Pi臋kna. Po prostu przepi臋kna ksi膮偶ka. Ju偶 taka by艂a gdzie艣 w po艂owie, w opowiadaniu o Rilkem. A potem lepiej, coraz lepiej. I faktycznie: wesz艂a Andrijowi z tego ma艂ego zbioru opowiada艅 niezwykle sp贸jna powie艣膰. Pi臋kny ten duet: Autor i jego T艂umacz. Prosz臋 o wi臋cej.
Ta ksi膮偶ka jest nie tylko o samotno艣ci, ale te偶 o utratach, przemijaniu i samooszukiwaniu, kt贸re t臋 samotno艣膰 wypychaj膮 na pierwszy plan. To co by艂o marzeniem, urzeczywistnione staje si臋 przekle艅stwem. To co urzeczywistnione ale przesz艂e, zupe艂nie przys艂ania codzienno艣膰
4,5/5 Moje ulubione (kolejno艣膰 losowa): Pokoj do smutku, kobieta i zapa艂ki. Najbardziej je zapami臋ta艂am. Pocz膮tek i koniec haha. Wr贸c臋 do nich i spr贸buje sobie przypomnie膰, czy kt贸re艣 bylo jeszcze wyr贸偶nione u mnie. Omine艂am kr贸lowe ramy - motyw wojny - nie na moj膮 psyche aktualnie.
