There has been a deliberate distortion in recent times of the true belief of Ahlus-Sunnah wal Jama'ah, by people who have been influenced by some of the beliefs of astray groups like the Mujassimah. Couple that with selective statements from the scholars of the past in that distortion, and it can become very confusing for the layperson (as we see today). Works like this translated into English are very vital.
