With E. D. Baker's trademark humor, wacky animal and human characters, and almost all-new cast, this is the story of Emma's daughter, Millie, who is trying to survive being a magical princess who happens to keep turning into a dragon. When she cannot stop her own magic any other way, she and three friends (one vampire, one troll and her cousin, a young wizard prince) set off for the Frozen North and the Blue Witch. Together the motley group battles fearsome bears, saves imprisoned dragons, and find their way home in style, with Millie having gained control of her dragon magic.
E.D. Baker made her international debut in 2002 with The Frog Princess, which was a Texas Lone Star Reading List Book, A Book Sense Children's Pick, a Florida's Sunshine State Readers List pick & a 2006 Sasquatch Book Award nominee. The Frog Princess inspired the Disney's Princess and the Frog!
E. D. Baker was born in Buffalo, New York and spent most of the next eighteen years in the Town of Tonawanda with her older brother and her parents. She married her husband while in college, and had two children a few years after graduating from Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. When her son was four, the family moved to the state of Maryland. With two young children at home, E.D. worked part time in her husband’s business and took writing classes at the local community college. She continued taking writing classes after the birth of her second daughter, but when she and her husband divorced, she went back to school and entered the SIMAT (School Immersion Masters in the Art of Teaching) program at Johns Hopkins University. After graduating, she taught fifth grade until her parents health began to fail. Her son had already graduated from college when E.D. and her daughters moved north to be closer to her parents. Having gained a new perspective on what is important in life, E.D. decided that it was time to believe in herself and devoted her time to writing. Her first book, The Frog Princess, was published in 2002. E.D. has written 25 books to date and has no plans to quite writing anytime soon.
Currently E. D. Baker lives on a small farm in Maryland where she and her family breed Appaloosa horses. They also have dogs, cats and goats.

Princess Emarelda and Prince Eadric, have a daughter, Millie, named after Emma's long ago ansestor. Whenever Millie gets mad, she turns into a dragon. Scary huh?
This book is hilarious! A princess that turns into a dragon if she gets angry. She goes on an adventure to solve her issue on getting mad. Will she find whats she looking for???
On the adventure she has to deal with trolls and monsters. They meet with a witch that lives in a cave that's ice cold. She also meets with a dragon... a guy dragon. His parents were kidnapped by the witch that is now giving a shelter to the Dragon Princess.
Meet Millie, a princess who turns into a dragon every time she gets angry. Determined to find a way to stop her anger from getting her into trouble, Millie embarks on a dangerous quest with her friends. Next... Enter the Abominable Snowmen! I think kids would find this story funny. While the answers for handling anger aren't as well-developed or clear as they could be, it's still a cute story about self-control. Chapters are also the perfect length for bedtime stories.
I thought about giving this 2.5 stars, but I decided to settle for 3 because it wasn’t a bad book. It was more of the fact that I am not within the age range for the target audience. The book just felt too young for me, and it felt like it was aimed at an even younger audience than the forst few books in the series. The only reason that I am reading these books is because I read the first one years ago and then after that I went out and bought some of the reat of the series. Now I am trying to clear off some speace on my shelves, but I have a problem with letting books go without reading them, or in this case finishing the series.
The one thing I have to say is that the author did a good job creating a differnt voice for Millie than the one for Emma in the first books. She sounds very different from her. However, Millie seems less mature than Emma was, which makes it feel like it is meant for a younger audience. At the beginning Millie sort of acts like a spoiled brat and basically has tantrums when she can’t have things her way, even though, as not only a fifteen year-old but also a princess, she should know that things cannot always go her way and that their duties to the people come first. Emma understood this, especially since she became the Green Witch, but for some reason Millie doesn’t get it.
It was also interesting to see some of the characters from the pervious books, and see their children interacting with Millie. I do wish that some of them played a bigger role, especially Emma and Eadric, because they were barely there at all.
The one thing I am not sure that I like about this series is that the main characters changed in the middle of the series. We went from Emma for the first four to Grassina for the fofth and Now Millie for thr sixth, and I was not really expecting that. It reminds me a bit of the Chronicles of Narnia series, because they o that there too and I did not expect that either. I prefer to continue following the same main character instead of switching all the time.
I was actually writing a story called Return of the Dragon Princess but I found out there was already a book called The Dragon Princess so I seeked that book out while I was in America. You wouldn't believe how impressed I was with it! I loved it to bits and I kept on reading the book (especially Chapter 14 onwards) because it was so good. I liked the plot and the romance in there, I already told my mum that I want the next book desperately and that I will suicide if I don't get it. (I didn't mean the suicide part but you get how badly I want it). There's another book coming, after Dragon Kiss so I want that too.
This is the continuation of The Frog Princess series although Eadric and Emma only have small roles in this story.
This story focuses on their daughter, Milly, who is half dragon; when she is angry, the dragon side of her comes out -- literally. It is also the story of her cousin, Francis who is the son of Haywood and Grassina and Zoe - the daughter of Lil and Garek, the Prince of the Vampires.
I enjoyed this story as Milly went to visit the Blue Witch to find out if there is a way she can control the dragon side of her. There is plenty of adventure here and even a little romance thrown in.
I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
I loved this one!! It was so cool to see the new generation, and to see the kids of all my favorite characters in the series ... I love Millie, she's awesome. I think it's so cool how Emma named her after her old friend Millie ... I thought the romance in this one was really sweet and unique. Once Upon a Curse and The Salamander Spell are still my favorites, but this is my third-favorite! :D
I liked The Dragon Princess because of how the main character, Millie, solved her problems. Well I didn't like how she solved some of them but I understand part of what she went through. Oh but I also sympathize for Francis and Zoe because in the story Millie kept telling them things that they already knew. You don't need someone to explain things to you when you already know what they're talking about. When they do that it just makes them seem annoying and like a big fat know-it-all. (Also for the your safety, don't do that unless you want your teeth to be punched out by some people.) Something else I didn't like was how Millie's grandmother, Frazzella acted and used Millie's birthday and her parents personalities just to win a bet with that blasted little Maybelle. Figures that Bradston the renowned troublemaker would get a fiancee who likes to gamble. But I do wonder how much it would have cost Frazzella if she had lost the bet. Dunno but since she was a queen it wouldn't matter much unless it was like her crown or kingdom.

I really enjoyed this story! It pulled me in from beginning to end and I loved getting to see the next generation with Millie, her cousin and friend all end up on their own adventure. We get to see Millie right about when she is the same age as Emma was when the series started. She is having princes starting to court her but she has a unique issue, her magic has shown itself with her turning into a dragon when she is angry. She has not learned to control the change and she spells and magic don't work for her the right away. I enjoyed watching Millie come into herself and figure things out as she goes on a journey to find the Blue Witch in order to find a way to gain control of her temper and shifting. I really enjoyed getting to know these characters throughout the story and seeing Millie meet Aldoon and saving his family. I'm excited for where things are going to in the next book.
This was a cute kids audiobook we enjoyed. We unfortunately didn't finish it the first time was had it checked out and as a result, we had to wait a month to get it back again. It's perfect for my kids ages 6 and 8 and while I found out later that it is part of a whole series of books and this is many books into the series, I felt like it was a stand alone story. A girl, who can turn into a dragon, set out on a quest to figure out to control her shifting between human and dragon. Her cousin and friend come along on the journey. It was a great book full of some fun adventures.
We randomly picked up this book at the library. I’m fairly certain I’ve read at least one or two books from this series, but you definitely don’t need to have read the previous books to enjoy this one. It was a fun read-aloud, but the story felt a bit uneven. The ending was action-packed and abrupt, while the beginning, and even parts of the middle, were slower and littered with random side quests. Though I am not the target audience, I think young readers would really like this book.
Cute. A lot of cameos from the first 5 books, or at least I assume that's what they are. The princess goes on an adventure, but she's a dragon so she's never in danger. The story's about running into random people and not letting her friends die of cold and then getting Wizard-of-Oz'd (film) in the penultimate chapter "you've always had the ability..."
So far this series is still looking up. I loved how Princess Millie faces problems every day with her temper and turning into a dragon. This is a really good book. this series introduces new characters, which keeps it from getting old. This book delighted me just as much as the first books and I finished it in a day, like all the other books in this series. Amazing book, it's a must read.
This is such a sweet book, it makes my heart hurt, and my stomach hurt from laughing so much, I don't know how Baker comes up with these stuff. I cant stop reading this series, I like Millie, she reminds me so much of Emma and how stubborn they are. Ans her friends are just the funniest, I hope you take the time to read it. Happy Reading!
I thought I'd love this one based on the title and cover, but it just wasn't good. The characters were undeveloped, the writing was awkward, and the theme of female anger being good and healthy didn't come out right. A child definitely would have gotten the wrong message instead of the intended one.
My father bought me this book years ago and it is overall one of my most prized possessions. The story was well written and the characters were hilarious to read about. I really wish this would be made into a movie
