I really enjoyed these books; very much of a Tom Clancy feeling to them and that's one of the highest praises I can give for an action thriller. Recommended.

Aviation and SpecOps Pageturner

As someone who grew up on Carl Hiaasen mysteries of antics in Florida, I was immensely entertained by a mystery/thriller series in the same area. It obviously had a different tone, but it had me turning the pages just the same.

There are a lot of characters to keep up with, and some of the tertiary characters required me to jump around for reminders of who they were from earlier story points, but they’re all well written with great story arcs. The added detail around plot points was very good, too, without being too cumbersome. It’s clear that the author did his homework (or for a lot of it, called on his existing, detailed knowledge).

If you enjoy thrillers, particularly if you enjoy more detailed ones, definitely give this series a look.

Excellent collection.

Realistic account of events which could or more likely, have occured.
The difference between novels by those who 'have got the t shirt' & those who reasearched, no matter how vigorously, is a close call in many cases. Frequently hero from start to finish the difference between these & C.W.Lemoine is humanity.
Spectre shows emotion, not a marvel comic superhero, just a bloke doing a job.
He knows what he has to do & does it to the best of his ability. Sometimes after a major incident, he shows his grief, disbelief & intolerance.
He's only human after all!

Started out as a good read, but after second book became an end of training road march. Endured until the end, only to discover that nothing was resolved. Was like watching a multi-year TV serial that drags on and on with frequent retelling of the events for those who might have not read the previous books.

Mr. Lemoine obviously knowledgeable of aircraft and special ops, but how many time can someone be shot, stabbed, lose will to go on, etc. A downer to read through 4 books and feel that there may be no end to the trek in the foreseeable future. I prefer for stories to have a beginning and an end.

So much action for an amazing story..

Books like these can become boring because there is only so much ‘Gung- Ho I can take and still see the storyline.
In this series the heroic sections are enhanced by the writers ability to keep the reader in the story. Sounds simple but, I believe, it’s not so this rollicking yarn picks you up and shows you a well written tale about heroes and bad guys all interlinked into a very good yarn.
So - if you like your tales to be full of action and interesting plot lines while still having enough depth to be enjoyable - grab this and have a read - they’re good.

A very decent series from a professional pilot. The book is obviously written by someone who knows what he's talking about, and the plot is absolutely grounded in reality (as opposed to some other novels in this genre). I would have given this a 4/5 if we had a bit more character development/depth and possibly a larger obstacle to overcome. The ending almost felt too-easy; thereby implying that the protagonist was never in any real danger of not succeeding. I picked this up on sale and I would easily recommend it to any readers of the modern military/drama/fiction genre.

Non-stop action

I read the Specter box set (books 1-4) in 7 days... The series is fantastic! Will be buying book 5 shortly. The author's background as an F-16 pilot gave him a great perspective in writing the flying scenes in these books. But the books are so much more than flying scenes... There are covert para-military groups, love and lost love, FBI intrigue, politics, and traitors. Several kidnapping attempts and so much more. Buy it and enjoy the action.

Great series

Every bit as good as Tom Clancy’s books. From beginning to to end the action only slowed enough to take a breath. I could not put any of the first four books down. Mr. Lemoine puts you right in the cockpit or in the fight on the ground. Mr. Lemoine is an outstanding writer. I am eagerly looking forward to reading his other books as the adventure continues.

Captivating from book 1 to 4 .... 5 stars

Been looking for a series of books recently rather than a "one off" book and these books did not disappoint. Tense, thrilling and a not to read. Would definitely recommend to any military or spy fan, I look forward to the next books.

Great action packed series, research was very detailed and relevant to the plot. Enjoyed the characters and developed the appropriate love hate relationship. Look forward to more author inspired reads

Can't wait for book 5

I was a little sceptical at first, but once I started reading the first book I couldn't put the series down. 5 stars from this retired army grunt.
