It’s time to move on.

A fresh start and a new NHL team in a big city. Most importantly, it’s my son Jack’s best shot.

It would be both of our best shots.

Denise

After a bad childhood, I made sure I would succeed.

The problem is I die a little with each patient I lose. It’s part of my career at Hudson Children’s Oncology Hospital, but it doesn’t make the sting of loss any easier.

Seeking anything other than a life saved isn’t on my agenda until a NHL player walks into my hospital with his son.

We’re officially off script the moment we meet.

Something So Unscripted was a low angst, sweet, amazing read. Zack and Denise fell into a romance quickly and with ease. There really wasn't any big sweep-her-off-her-feet moments, but that worked for these characters. I loved that from the very beginning you just knew that they belonged together and they fit in each others lives perfectly.

There was still a lot happening in the story that kept me intrigued and forcing myself to not skip to the end to find out what happened. I devoured this book in one sitting because I refused to get up or let my focus wonder to anything other than these characters. I thought everything was very well written and that it all played out in the best possible way for all the characters involved in the story.

Overall, this is a book I would recommend to anyone, even readers that aren't sports-romance fans because this book deserves to be read. It does involve characters from the past novels but it can be read as a standalone with no problem or spoilers about those books.

DNF @ 67%

I couldn't continue.

Major instalove type cheese going on.

I am disappointed because it had the potential to be a heartfelt and moving story about a man going through a divorce with a young son that has cancer that falls in love with his doctor.

I struggled with the fact that every character seemed to burst into tears at every turn. I felt like I was being told about their emotions instead of actually connecting with them and feeling it along with them. For example...there is a part where the h tells a story about her traumatic past and I was honestly tempted to skim because it didn't feel all that genuine to be honest. I'm not at all trying to say that that kind of event is not traumatic, but the way that it was all communicated to me as the reader didn't feel right for some reason.

I think I just never connected with any of the characters to get emotional with them.

I also struggled with the cancer part of it. The h did not act professionally, and I felt like a lot of it was not believable behavior by an esteemed pediatric oncologist. .

Other readers seemed to enjoy this, so it very well could be a me thing 🤷🏻‍♀️

FIVE HEART-MELTING STARS

Little by little, book by book, Natasha Madison is climbing into the hearts and the favorite, top book lists of all of us readers. If you haven’t tried one of her books, this is your chance. Something So Unscripted is one of those captivating reads that will hold your heart and your attention throughout the entire reading.

A beautiful story about the love between father and son. Both fighting fiercely for a brighter future. Denise, the heroine is a woman who always puts everyone needs before hers, and she too will be just as captivated as us with the adorable father, son duo.

Zack has been betrayed by two of the people closest to him. The problem is, he doesn’t have time to mourn the loss of those who broke his heart and his trust, his main focus is on his son Jack. In an effort to find the best for their future, Zack asks to be transferred to another hockey team, where unbeknownst to him he will find a group of men who would battle with him inside and out of the ice, and also a woman who is willing to give her best to him and his son.

Zack, Jack, and Denise are a trio of characters that will immediately steal your heart. Their story has so much depth and their love is so intense that it simply shines through the pages of this magnificent novel. Hands down my favorite book of this series, and a top favorite read of the year.

OMG! DNF @ 23%. I can't stand it! It feels like I'm already at 50% the way this thing drags and drags like reading an instruction manual!!

HOW DID THIS BOOK GET SO MANY HIGH STARS???!!!! I WAS ROBBED!

The writing isn't atrocious. The plot is one I obviously liked. But the execution is more BORING than watching paint dry!

I've read plenty of "slow burn" novels before. But there was tension. There was passion. There was humor. There was NOTHING here for freaking one-quarter of this novel!!

I kept waiting for something, ANYTHING, to make me like it better, but no! And it's soooooo repetitive! Every time the voice switches, the author tells the last part of one person's POV from the POV of the second person. So, she repeats each scene TWICE. Each BORING scene TWICE!!

WTF!

How do books like these get these ratings???? I have NO confidence whatsoever in book ratings any more. NONE!

Very sweet and touching love story.
Amazing hero, cute kid, strong and kind heroine.

I can't bring myself to 'complain' about some small and bigger issues, that bothered me.
I just cut it to two points:
- H's ex-wife's character was exaggerated.
- h behaved unprofessional sometimes and, IMO, neglected her other patients

Very sweet epilogue! 💞

Zack what a man!

This book is so cute heart breaking funny sexy and full of hot sexy hockey men and throw in so mega cute kids. I m really enjoying this series. The books just keep getting better. Every man just keeps getting hotter and hotter and the woman just keep getting stronger and stronger. I was looking forward to getting more of Denise after the last book. Denise is Max Horton's sister who he super protective over. They didn't have a great up bringing. But Max did everything for her he made sure so have what she needed after leaving there read beat mum and step dad. She is now working in Hudson Children’s Oncology Hospital which one of the best children's hospital in New York. But has worked so hard to get there and lives her job. Ye it's hard for her at times but she deals with everything so well. She is alway super professional. Until she meets the sexy Zack Morrow and his son Jack. How is the cutest kid ever.

Zack has just moved to New York after find he wife in bed with his best friend. She is the worst people ever if I ever want to hurt a fictional character it would be her. She is so selfish it's unbelievable. But back to Zack. He has moved to New York so his son Jack can hopefully get better. He has been sick for a while and heard that Hudson Children’s Oncology Hospital is the best there is. So he needs to get Jack in there and soon. Zack had heard the Denise Horton is the best and he new team mate just happens to be her brother. So when they get invited to dinner he has to ask if she will take Jack's case. He just didn't know that she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.

This story is just brilliant and did break my heart. Seeing the relationship between Denise and Jack was so cute he needed the love that he didn't get from his mum. Both Zack and Denise tried the keep things professional but there chemistry was just to strong and the way she was with Jack just made it so much easier for him to fall in luv with her. Zack is a lot different to the other guys in this series. He isn't the cocky guy like the other. He is confident but he sweet and caring and Jack comes first he will do anything for him. Denise is just amazing this woman never puts herself first ever. Her job and family mean everything to her. After spending so much time with Zack and Jack they became just as important. I really luv this series it so good. I would highly recommend it. This book is sad in parts but seeing how everything worked out was great I just luvd it.

5 stars!

OMG, I love this book! It has the sense of fun and sexiness that I love about this series, but with a gutwrenching emotional punch that will take your breath away and have you feeling everything! It’s beautiful and sweet, funny, heartwarming and gorgeously romantic, and I absolutely loved it!

Star NHL defenseman Zack Morrow’s life is upended when he finds his wife in bed with his team mate and best friend. Desperate to leave the situation behind, he packs up his young son and transfers to the New York Stingers, giving them both a fresh start, and putting them near the renowned doctor who is his last resort for saving his son’s life.

Dr Denise Horton is the younger sister of New York Stinger, Max Horton (hero of ). She also happens to the very pediatric oncologist that Zack is seeking out. Denise had a hellish upbringing, but her older brother rescued her, and she has gone on to become a dedicated doctor, committed to her career and to the children she treats, even though each patient’s loss tears a little piece of her heart out. And from the moment she meets Zack and his adorable five year old, Jack, she is smitten with the both of them. And immediately takes on the case.

“What do you want to hear?
“I want to hear that you’ll help save my son. I want to hear that I didn’t come all this way for nothing. And most of all a tear escapes his eye “I want to hear that I won’t have to bury my son.

Jack is a bright, bubbly and happy little kid and you can’t help but fall in instant love with him which is exactly what Denise does. Zack and Jack are pulled straight into the Stingers family, of which Denise is very much a part, and when they begin spending time together inside and outside of the hospital, Denise is effortlessly drawn into Zack and Jack’s circle, becoming a friend and somebody to lean on as well as Jack’s doctor. It’s a support that Zack hasn’t known until that point, and as they begin to open up and get to know each other, Zack and Denise’s feelings for each other become impossible to ignore, and the emotions are intense!

I thought that Natasha did a wonderful job of getting us to the heart of Zack and Denise, understanding their fears and feeling their heartache right along with them. Zack, of course, as the father who is fighting for the life of his son, and Denise, who is right there next to him, but with the added pressure of having his life in her very hands. With their feelings for each other just adding to the intensity of it all.

“What if I can’t save Jack, and then he hates me for it? I say as tears streak down my face.
“But what if you save him? She looks at me. “What if you save him, and you allow yourself to have something you’ve never dreamed of before? You get to love a little boy with everything you have while holding his father’s hand.

And wow, what a beautiful love story! The chemistry is fantastic, and it’s a slow build as they understandably dance around their feelings for a while before finally diving in. The sexual tension is great (and more than backed up by the super sizzling sexy time) and the emotion is obvious between them from the very beginning. And when it all happens for them it’s easy, functional and so freaking beautiful. I could feel everything developing between them, and I loved watching it all happen for them.

“Life is too short not to live to its fullest, and I want to live life.

And woven into the romance, and balanced beautifully, is their fight for little Jack, and oh my God, the feels are intense from the very beginning. A gravely sick child is always a devastating storyline, and Natasha does a wonderful job with this one. It’s terrifying and heartbreaking, and I was in tears more than once. But it’s also incredibly uplifting, with a great sense of love and happiness as this little family support each other, openly love and laugh, and cherish every moment.

There is some drama, but it works to add to the story rather than overwhelm it. It’s dealt with well, there is no angst, and not once was I frustrated with these characters.

I loved the inclusion of the characters from earlier books in the series. While you could easily read this one as a standalone, I loved seeing the story progression for Max & Allison and Matthew & Alyssa, and even Cooper & Parker. The group all gel together so well, and the dynamics are so much fun. The group as a whole is fantastic, and watching them be there to take Zack, Jack and Denise’s backs through everything brought tears to my eyes (again).

And it ends beautifully with a sensational epilogue that once again had tears streaming down my face.

Natasha Madison made me feel everything with this book. I laughed, cried, swooned, and I absolutely loved it! It’s definitely going down as a favourite.

5 stars!

3,5 stars!! My 2000000000 stars goes to cancer survivors, their families, to medical research, to volunteers!!!
Enjoyable read.
Safe
I didn't like the way author trashed a lot ex-wife. The hero was married to her for 10 years! And finally, when he caught her in bed with his BBF he said, that he didn't like anything about her: her Botox, her bleached hair, her cold way with their son, her detachment, nothing about her.. but why you didn't divorce her earlier?? It's enigma for me.

And the way they both were so horny while hero's son was in treatment for cancer!! I think I couldn't think about so much sex while my son was in treatment....

4.5 Denise and Zack (and Jack) Stars.

I'm warning you now , you will need tissues when you read this book. If childhood cancer is a trigger for you , then be warned that Zack's son , Jack , is going through ALL. The subject is explored at length and plays a big part in this story. Jack's character is beautifully written and he absolutely brought me to tears. I realise I may be making this novel sound depressing but it honestly is not. There are some really funny parts to it, especially the interactions of the guys from the Stingers team. It's also a romance and is pretty hot in places.

Denise is a Paediatric Oncologist and is also Max Horton's sister from . Zack Morrow is an NHL player and has been playing in Arizona but after his marriage breaks up he moves himself and his little boy, Jack, to NY because he needs one more chance to save Jack's life and Dr Horton is one of the best in the field. Also, his ex wife cheated on him with his best friend, Team Captain and team mate, Colton. There's just no way Zack could stay there.

Honestly, there is not very much romantic angst in this book. There is an element of professional taboo because Denise is Jack's doctor but that is addressed early on. The ex wife is a class A bitch and she brings some drama but Denise and Zack are very honest with each other and attracted to each other from the start. It's romantic and sexy in places with lots of really strong secondary character humour and input.

So, why not 5 stars? It nearly was. I think , for me, the ex wife was so awful and such a 'baddie' that I found her a bit unbelievable. She never , ever redeemed herself. If anything, she kept getting worse. Then Denise was so utterly perfect and good, I found her a bit too much at the end of the spectrum.
Having said that , I really enjoyed the story and I liked the characters, loved the relationship between Denise and Jack especially. It made me cry, laugh, swoon and wish really hard for a good ending.

HEA? Yes - one of the most beautiful epilogues ever.
Cheating? Not between Zack and Denise. Zack catches his wife in bed with his friend at the start of the book.

“With her, I let it go.

One of the most EMOTIONAL romances I’ve read this year! Natasha Madison continues to AMAZE ME with every new release! Trust me when I say, SOMETHING SO UNSCRIPTED will stay with you LONG after the last page has turned.

Ms. Madison surprises me all of the time, but it was her release of SOMETHING SO UNSCRIPTED (Zack and Denise’s story) that just BLEW ME AWAY! This goes beyond what she’s given us in the past. This is a new side to her writing. This is packed with so much emotion, so much heat, so much raw, grit, and vulnerability…there was absolutely NO WAY I was putting this baby down, not even for a second.

Her words captivated me. Her characters stole my heart. The story took me to a place where I could be vulnerable, right alongside the characters, and put my absolute trust and attention in her words. I can’t even go into the actual story with you guys and not completely break down in tears. It was THAT potent…THAT real…and THAT spectacular! Even though there were tears coming out of my eyes from beginning to end, the author still managed to make me laugh and smile through those tears. It’s an incredible gift to have. I can’t even imagine the strength it took to get Zack, Jack, and Denise’s story down on paper, but I can tell you that their story WILL inspire hope in many reader’s lives. Take a chance on this one and I promise you, you won’t regret it. You’ll love it. You’ll lose yourself in it, and you’ll embrace it with all of your heart and soul.

Not only is this Natasha’s BEST WORK to date, it’s one of my absolute FAVORITES of the year!

I just finished reading Something So Unscripted with tears running down my face and a heart full of joy and happiness. This is the reason why I read. It helps me escape reality! It's my happy place. And this story is a prime example for a great escape. Having read all of Natasha Madison's books I can trully tell, that this is her most touching and heart-breaking one. From the first page you will be tossed right into the story and discover why it has a sad component that is a major plot twist throughout the book. I must confess that I was not prepared for that. My heart shattered into tiny little pieces. I couldn't shake off this terrifying feeling of potential loss. It made me anxious and turn the pages dreading what will happen next. Is it possible to read and sob through an entire book? Yes it is! It's exactly what I did. No book from Natasha has ever touched me this deeply. This is why I love her writing. It makes me feel everything!

After Zack Morrow finds his wife in bed with his friend and teammate, he decides to leave town and his unhappy marriage behind. A fresh start and a new NHL team in a big city like New York is exactlly what he and his little son Jack need. But most importantly, it’s his son's best shot.

Denise Horton had a bad childhood. But that didn't stop her from succeeding in life and establishing a career as a doctor at the Hudson Children’s Oncology Hospital. She lives for her job and little patients. That's why she dies a little with each patient she loses. Seeking anything other than saving lives isn’t on her agenda until a handsome and blue-eyed NHL player walks into her hospital with his sick son.

Soon the boundaries between a doctor and a patient will start to blur.Denise can't help herself but fall in love with the little boy and his dad too. Can she help Jack? Or is it too late? Or can a love so fierce and strong save them all?

Denise is the best heroine Natasha Madison has ever written! I loved this couragious and compassionate woman beyond words. She had so much love to give. The most amazing thing about her was how much she cared about her patients like they were her own children. She was born to be a doctor! I just wanted to hug her and high five her for being such a smart and beautiful woman! Don't get me started about her and little Jack! She loved this boy with every piece of her heart and soul. What's not to love about a woman that adores a child she hasn't even born?

Zack made me swoon hard. He was a gentle alpha hero and a loving father. His wife never cared about their son only about prestige and money. He was always on his own, despite being married. I was so glad he left her! Luckily he met Denise. She was everything he was looking for in a woman: loyal to the bone, attentive and compassionate. I loved how he cherished her like the biggest treasure!

Denise and Zack started out like a little spark that turned into a raging flame. Once they surrendered to their feelings there was no going back! It was amazing how much they loved, respected and supported each other. Together with little Jack they made a perfect team.

I applaud to Natasha Madison for writing such a deeply touching and thought-provoking book I soon won't be able to forget! It's amazing how her writing gets better and better with every book and I can't wait to see which story she has in store for us next. I'm highly recommending this gem of book and putting it on my most favorite reads shelf! 5+ stars

Well now I have inhaled this series without pause, which would be great if it wasn't days to Christmas and my to do list wasn't longer than Santa's naughty list. All of which has been ignored and neglected while I binge read these.

Anyway this one wasn't my favourite but I still loved it. Zack was a new character to the group and he was a lot less alpha than the other guys. But then I think that was probably for the best. He suited Denise and they worked perfectly together.

Zack had so much going on with his sick son and awful ex-wife. He really needed the caring, compassionate Denise on his side to help him through it all. And having Jack be as much a part of the story as Zack and Denise was awesome. He had moments where he broke my heart, as a parent, I can't imagine how you could go through that.

I really did enjoy the book. I loved that the whole crew was there, yet they were secondary characters. And I would have been so sad to see this series end except I just read the beginning of This is Crazy and I can't wait to go read Zara's story because there's no way that won't be entertaining.

OMG……it has been a long time since I have read a book that made me cry so much. I love children, so clearly reading a book where one of the main characters is a Pediatric Oncologist was going to cause some serious emotions.

Dr.Denise Horton is Max Horton’s sister and I had read about her in several other books so I knew that I liked her a lot.

Zack Morrow is an NHL player who for many reasons has now relocated with his son Jack to New York. He is now playing on the same team as Matthew Grant and Max Horton. Jack is 5 years old and absolutely adorable!

There is a lot to the storyline from ex drama, to illness, to deception by a best friend, to overprotective family. You will laugh, cuss, cry……all the emotions will make an appearance while reading this book. I REALLY liked it & thought it was a great ending to this particular series!!!!

Oh I almost forgot....the extended epilogue so far in the future was wonderful!

I really do love this author!

Wow, such a beautiful emotional book!!! The Prologue had me wanting to whoop someone's butt but I had a feeling she would get what was coming her way. And Zack, my goodness that man is an amazing father!

Words can't describe how beautiful it was to see the way Denise fell in love with little Jack and how she vowed to do everything in her power help Jack get better. Their interaction had me smiling and falling in love with Denise. And I could clearly see why Zack fell for her more and more each time.

The chemistry between Zack & Denise was sizzling and seeing how skated around each other for a bit I knew that when they collided there were going to be major fireworks!! Be prepared for your emotions to be all over the place! Kara~5 Breathtaking Stars

This had potential to be a five star if it was longer! But since it was so short, the side characters took up a lot of page time that could’ve been dedicated to the couple. I looooooooved Denise’s relationship with Jack, it was so sweet! It did bother me a lot though that the author still had him calling her Dr. Denise almost till the very end.
Another thing, and this could just be because I was extremely tired while reading and so I missed something, but I feel like there were a couple chapters out of order.? Because one minute they’re at a house party, then he’s inviting her over to have dinner, then they’re back at the house party, and then she’s arriving for the dinner he invited her to. Like I said, I could’ve just missed something because I stayed up to read this and so I’m just tired, but idk I felt like I should mention it just in case I’m not crazy 😂

Second chances

I’ve devoured this series, of course me being me read it in the wrong order but it didn’t diminish the emotional overload, watching each couple fall in love.

Zack and his son Jack will capture your heart, you’ll cry and laugh with each step they take.

Denise was a phenomenal lead, caring, sweet and loving. Her fierce loyalty to these two guys is heartwarming.

Get ready to fall in love.,

Something so Unscripted is so much more than a love story, it is an all encompassing, engrossing and engaging novel about, love, life and all the moments that make life special.
Oh and just when you think this story can’t get any better the very last line of the book will grab your heart and have the tears flowing yet again in the best way possible.

Wait I should probably tell you something about the book other than Go 1-Click NOW…

This story is a stand alone book set in a world tied to another series by Natasha Madison but NO worries if this blurb grabs you and you have never read this author before please I implore you 1-click; you will not regret it.

As the blurb states NHL player Zack Morrow finds himself with a cheating wife and sick son.

Those events take him to New York, to a new team and the doctor he hopes will save his son’s life, Dr Denise Horton; sound emotional well, it is and then some.

But in miraculous fashion the author’s talent bleeds off the pages as she masterfully weave humor and witty banter into this novel filled with life and death struggles and yes an ex all readers will want to reach into their kindle and strangle.

Side Note Denise is Max Horton’s sister; Max is the hero in Something So Irresistible (a top pick of mine from 2017)

Something so Unscripted brings with it a supporting cast that makes for a world that will have your mind living in it even when you put the book down to you know live your life.

Jack, Zack’s son was so well crafted; Zack’s parents added so much to this story, Denise’s brother Max and his family make for so much wonderful dialogue; the Stinger men, from the players to the Head of PR Olivier added levity . it all kept me glued to my kindle!

The banter between the men was so good; Zack and Max (Denise’s brother) and Zack and Matthew (Zack’s teammate and Matthew’s brother in law) at times has me laughing out loud.

As Zack and Denise fall in love the reader bears witness to it; the slow burn which perfectly fit for the circumstances allows the reader to not just root for this couple but experience love along with them.

And then Denise and the reader also fall in love with Jack; a little boy who opens up and blossoms in his new home and surrounded by his new friends; your heart will melt for this little boy.

Weaving two careers into one life and the ethical boundary of falling for your patients father was done with true professionalism both by the author and the characters.

The author took a serious subject matter, blended it with a love story and with acts of charity and giving made the characters both vulnerable and even more well rounded.
These characters as beyond well crafted, more than just hockey players who fall in love; they are friends; fathers and good citizens who give back to the community. Ok not telling you anymore about the plot...READ THE BOOK.

This book is 5 stars and then some; this is one of the best books I have read and I know this story and these chararactrs will stay in my heart for years to come.

The range of emotions the author pulls from the reader is a true testament to her skill.
It has been so enjoyable to watch Ms Madison grow as an author; this book will pull at your soul and make you believe in true love.

This book will most definitely be on my Top Picks List for 2018!

I can’t wait to rejoin this world when hopefully Vivi gets a happy! Vivi added so much humor and her watching others all in love.. well it has me so excited for when it is her turn soon PLEASE Natasha yes SHOUTY CAPS!

I want to end where I started; the epilogue was so beyond outrageously amazing those last few words WOW!

This story is one of the best books that I've read this year and my new favorite by Natasha Madison. There are not enough words do describe how much I've loved it. I seriously don't know how she does it but this amazingly talented author manages to set the bar higher with every new book she writes. My nerdy bookworm heart is overflowing with sheer happiness and pure contentment after reading Zach and Denise's story. It was gut-wrenching, beautiful, deeply touching and absolutely inspiring. It's a truly remarkable story about love, family and friendship. It shows us that when life is challenging you and putting your faith to the test, sometimes a miracle is sent your way in order to help you get through all of this.

I'm a huge sucker for single daddy books and this one ladies was top-notch. There is nothing more sexy than a caring, loving and protective dad who also happens to be a hot and successful hockey player. A man who always puts his kid first and knows how to treat a lady - inside and outside the bedroom. Natasha Madison is a pro at writing these perfect Alpha male specimen with a heart of gold. Heroes we all love to drool over and swoon about.

And thank god she also knows how to write strong female lead characters who are smart, feisty and determined. These women know what they want and are not afraid to fight for it. They give their men all their love and support and a shoulder to lean on. They are equal partners and not some weak doormats or demsels in destress waiting for a man to come and save them. Her heroines are women you admire and respect and look up to.

When Zack Morrow finds his wife in bed with his teammate and best friend he decides to leave his old life behind and move to NY. He wants to play for a new NHL team and give his little son Jack the best shot at a hopefully succesful new medical treatment. Zack meets Dr. Denise Horton who is the best in her field. She is not only beautiful from the outside but also a dedicated and thoughtful doctor who fights for her patients like a lioness. Denise will not only fall for the sweet boy but also for his wonderful dad who is trying so hard to keep up a brave facade. Never has a case felt so personal. Never was the fear of failure so big. Can her love and a little miracle help her save Jack?

My heart was melting every time Zack and Jack were interacting as father and son. Their unconditional love for each other was radiating from the pages. I was also completely smitten with all scenes including Denise and Jack. She adored this boy with every fiber of her being and she made sure to show him that at every occation. Sometimes I thought that the angst in the book is going to wrack me but luckily Natasha gave us a happy end. That epilogue was just the cherry on top.

The Something So series has become my top favorite hockey series and I've read a lot of them. These characters have taken up a very special place in my heart and I never want to let them go. I hope that the author is going to give us more of these absolutely addictive stories in the future. Trust me, you don't want to miss out on these must-reads! Natasha Madison, I once again bow to your talent! 5+ stars

Man this book.

I’m a sucker for single parent stories and this one tugged at my heartstrings and had me all in my feelings. Zack was such a good father to his son, Jack. Zack was just a good person over all. Denise came in and gave them both what they needed and even what they didn’t know they needed. I loved Denise’s character as she was smart, strong and selfless.

This story had such a delicious slow burn and I loved the build up, character development and connection between Zack and Denise. You could feel their chemistry oozing off the page. Jack stoled my heart in this story and I loved how it was the perfect balance with all three characters. At times this was an emotional story to read as well. I found myself tearing up several times and I needed a minute to compose myself .

Natasha Madison has such a way with words and once again I felt like I was apart of the group. This is book number two out of four that I have read in this series and every time I read I’m sucked in right until the very end. I never feel like I’m lost and shows Madison’s strength as a writer. Madison’s writing style has only gotten better and she is quickly moving up to be one of my favorites. Even though this story was more on the emotional side we did get some comedic relief. And I must say the last sentence brought tears to my eyes. It truly did. I won’t be forgetting about this book for a very long time. Definitely a favorite read of 2018!

If this book doesn't make you cry, you need to find a friend and have them check to see if you still have a pulse. There are little moments of joy, of perfection, of heartache all throughout this book. And, I admit it, there were some sniffles.

But, nothing prepared me for the absolute perfection of the last line of the book and for the moment where all was 100% ok. I needed this, I needed the epilogue to let me know that things worked out, that they all got the happy ending they deserved.

In a story about someone who is a parent, you have to make sure there is a relationship with the child, but also there is a romance for the adults...and this romance has to happen with or without the child. Let me explain. I have to believe that they love one another, and this is a relationship they would pursue if the child wasn't part of it.

Zack and Denise meet because Jack is ill and Denise is an oncology doctor. But, what happens is you fall in love with how much they all love one another. Zack loves his son. Denise develops a relationship with Zack, and with his son. And, you believe both of them, as while they are intertwined they are also separate.

While they are all falling in love with one another, you do the same. With the sheer joy that is Jack and his take on life and the people he loves; you love Jack. With the love Zack has for his son, and his willingness to make sure that he doesn't think people like his mother are the only kind of people in the world. You love him for how much he loves Denise, and for how much he just wants her in his life, even though he knows it is asking a lot. You love Denise for her heart, and her strength, and her loyalty. For the fact that she cares about the people she loves. And for the way she defends them against sickness, mean people and evil ex-wives. (We are not talking about Zach's ex here, we just aren't. I don't like her. And, that's all she gets in this review.)

See what I mean? Yes, this is a book about people who are brought together by a child's illness. But, by the end, it is about so much more than that...it's about love, in all it's forms.

Small disclaimer...technically this happens while Zack is waiting for his divorce to be final. But, don't worry...I promise, you won't feel like there is cheating. Also, while this is an interconnected story, it can be read as a standalone. Although, really, you should read the other books in the series.

I absolutely recommend this book. You are going to love it.

OMG This book, no Words...

Zack, Jack and Denise, freaking awesome story.

Zack just found his wife in bed with his friend and teammate, while his son is in the house sick. And not just sick with a cold or something, i mean like sick sick, cancer sick. Yes you are right Total Biatch...
So he leaves and takes his son for a fresh start in New York but why New York. Because Denise Horton Oncology Doctor at the Hudson Children's hospital is where he wants to be with his son. Denise lives for her job and is invested in every single patient's health.
From the minute she meets Jack (Zack's son) she fell in love with this little boy and knew that even though her patient list is full she will take his case.
From day one Denise is invested in Jack's case, but she also can't help her feelings for his dad either. But she is also hesitant to get involved with him, because what if she can't save Jack's life will he hold her responsible?

This book tore my heart out, Denise was so devoted to her patients and gave her everything to them. And Zack, EPIC Father. He did everything for his son and nothing was to hard for him to do
And man, that epilogue... AWESOME!

4.5 heart-warming stars!

Gosh. This book is an emotional rollercoaster. Natasha bought the feels big time with this one!

I have to be honest and say it took me a while to fully connect with this book. While the pacing of the story was rather quick, I felt like the build up between Zack & Denise took a long time and unfortunately, I didn't feel it straight away.

However, at around 60% the story took hold of my heart & soul and I felt EVERYTHING! Zack and Denise and Jack are just beautiful! Everything came together so vividly at this point and the feels were real I'm telling you!

I absolutely love this world Natasha has developed and I love that each book has it's place that perfectly fits and follows (they are standalones but for the best reading experience, I would say read in order) I love them all so much!

The best part of Something So Unscripted? The epilogues. I read those with tears streaming down my face. They were an INCREDIBLE way to end!

So, overall, even though it took me a while to fully connect with this book, I loved the read and the story and the ending is FANTASTIC!

Yeah, okay...
This story had me ranting over some technicalities but over and all, it was good.

Dealing with a heavy subject of an illness, it brought all the sentiments necessary for a fine, heart-wrenching, heart-warming romance drama.

4.5⭐️

That was an emotional ride! I was so happy to see Denise, Zack and Jack get their HEA. A couple of the POV changes with the timeline threw me off a little, but I loved this book. And that second epilogue had my heart melting.
