So, I'm really busy at the moment, but I could not miss this one! Some of these books were my all time favourite!
So, let's break this one down.
The Bad Ones - This book is actually in my top 10! I really really love how wicked those two are. Unfortunately, I wanted a bit more from this. But they were mostly visiting old places and not really doing bad things. However, I liked the ending! I would love to see Dulcie talking to the journalist that would be really fun! So, I'm a bit sad that was not included. 3/5
My Time in the Affair - I did not read that book, so I skipped this part.
The Mercenaries: Law - Okay, I love Law! And Love Damiano - wish there was a part just about those two. However, the story is split into two parts and does not really seem to work together because in the short length it does not make sense. However, I enjoyed this part. 4/5
Muckle Memory - I did not read that book, so I skipped this part.
Twin Estate - Okay, I should have skipped this part. I did not like this series. And I did not like this. These characters do not work for me. At all! And what Liam did in the end? Absolutely wrong! 1/5
While I Was Away - I did not read that book, so I skipped this part.
The Kane Series - oh, this was my first series from Stylo Fantome! I was really looking forward to this! We were teased about this story in Completion (The Kane Trilogy, #3.5). I really liked this, but I felt like several times it did not work with what we were told before. In Completion Tate said that while they were in Russia visiting Sanders, Jameson was angry with Sanders, not her. But here we were presented with a different story. Then there is the fact that Tate was which I think does not work with what happened in Reception (The Kane Trilogy #4). It seems a bit like the author forgot about these since things do not really add up. Or maybe a little confusion in the timeline. 3/5

This sweet little novella was like an early birthday present from Stylo Fantôme. I’m now wishing more authors thought to do this. If you’ve read and loved any of her books, reading this is like getting to see some of your favorite characters again. She gives us a glimpse of what happened after the end of their stories and also introduces us to new characters that I can’t wait to get to know more about. For me, this was all about Jameson and Tate and their constant bickering, but it was also pretty neat to see that Tal hadn’t lost his touch after all of these years (Come find me). Honestly, reading this book was like getting a dose of happy and who can refuse that? If you’ve ever wondered what happened to your favorite characters after ‘The End�, pick up a copy of this book today!

5 “Thanks for the Updates� Stars
I must confess.......I have loved all of Stylo Fantôme’s book. Her characters are fun, sassy, quirky and most of all endearing. Some more than others but all are wonderful. Checking In is just that........checking in with all her wonderful characters after “The End� is written. Each “checking in� story (The Bad Ones, My Time in the Affair, The Mercenaries: Law, Muscle Memory, Twin Estates, While I Was Away(a dabble of something new) and The Kane Series) brings a smile and a sense of nostalgia. This book is definitely for readers/fans of this author. Which each chapter, with each different story, my smile grew bigger and bigger. When you love stories, getting extra tidbits about characters you love is rewarding and invigorating.
So thank you Stylo Fantôme......Checking In was fanfreakingtatic!!! It was like finding the pot of gold at the end of the 🌈

The Bad Ones
The book starts with Constantine coming back to Fuller with Dulcie. They're revisiting all the places that hold special meaning to them & I think they're looking for closure that's why they're walking amongst the ruins of their past. old urges die hard and the itch of seeking scent of blood has started to tear its head. At the risk of their arrest, they go and break into homes just to see observe and get closure but the end is surprising as they revert to their old selves.
Muscle Memory is probably one of the best books I've read in my life . Jon gets a phone call from the hospital saying Delaney has been in an accident as he rushes over, its a sense of Deja Vu. my heart jumped to my throat, I swear. it's not funny stylo!! How mean of you to scare us like that but it's still the most beautiful story even after a tiny hearystopping snippet.
In the Twin Estates follow up, wulfric just got married to Katya and it's a heavy and hot beginning to their honeymoon. And what would wulfric and Katya be without Liam. he has a hilarious guest appearance part to play in this fabulous follow up .
I didnt realise how much I missed the trio !!

Stylo Fantome hit a home run with her brilliant idea to give a little extra past "the end" of her most beloved stories. Checking In is a novella of short stories that provides fantastic glimpses into the lives of our favorite characters. Where they've been, what they're doing, and most importantly how they're getting along. She took each character she's created and gave us everything we love about them back in her newest release. I do think this book is truly for fans of Fantome's already released stories. You need an understanding and appreciation of these characters before seeing where they are now. And somehow that makes it, to me, feel even more special as a reader to be gifted this wonderful set of shorts. If you love Stylo's charming yet debauched, sweet yet sour, loveable and hateable at the same time characters you'll love Checking In.

What a fantastic idea Checking In was. It was a real treat to be back in my favourite characters stories again, it felt so good reading up on their lives, and where it's taken them all. And also a glimpse into some treats yet to come. LawLawLawLaw, Adele. (I will wait patiently for their tales).
I was extremely lucky to get an arc, and like always, I'm very grateful. #StyloDidGood

I received a copy of this title to read and review for Wicked Reads

Checking In is an anthology, obviously checking in with the completed works by Stylo Fantome. Since I've been a bad girl and have only read Twin Estates and The Kane series, I can testify to the fact that it was easy to navigate to the short stories I was looking forward to reading without spoiling the ones I've yet to try. As I clicked past other stories, I had the desire to check out the rest of the author's published works in the near future. Win-win.
I'm reviewing only that which I read, unable to give an opinion about the shorts that are in other series I've yet to try.
Twin Estates
Escaping their reception, a randy Wulf showcases his douche-baggery as he and Katya take an elevator ride up to their wedding suite. Oh, how I've missed his grouchy, exacting personality. The married couple encounters the other two couples in the series, our naughty twins, alongside Wulf's personal assistant and Katya's right-hand woman.
It was a pleasure to see everyone again, after their series ended, a quick glimpse into their happily ever afters. A little hijinx to celebrate the momentous occasion.
The Kane Series
Narrated by Sanders.
This wasn't a warm and fuzzy, comfortable read. Tatum is her usual irrational, train wreck self. Jameson is just as baiting as ever. Bickering and fighting for no good reason, with TSTL actions taking place, Sanders is left to play mediator.
While what takes place happens by accident, Tate always running off gets her into trouble as usual. Not blaming anyone but the driver, but at some point Tate must take responsibility for her irrational, irresponsible, immature behavior, with Jameson realizing he's no better.
Truth be told, as much as I enjoyed this series, this just hammered home how toxic Tatum and Jameson truly are, and no relationship will ever function healthily with them. Sanders tries to spin it as faith and true love at the end of the story, but I just feel it's the need for therapy and emotional maturity. They bait each other just for the drama of it, and it's too much to swallow, especially combined with the deeper, darker emotions that were shown in this short story.
By the end of it, I felt no empathy for the train wrecks known as Tatum and Jameson, and wished Sanders had an ounce of self-preservation and would just walk away and never look back.

Overall, I enjoyed the short story featuring Katya and company, wished I hadn't read Sander's story, and am curious to take a sneak peek at others featured in the anthology to figure out which of Fantome's other works would be a good fit for me to read.
Highly recommend by fans of the author/series/books who wish to know what happened after the epilogues.

I don't normally read novellas but there was no way in hell I was passing up some much needed time with some of my FAVORITE characters...specifically Jameson, Tate, and Sanders. Their chapter alone was enough to make this book sooooo worth it! But then add in Dulcie and Constantine, Mischa and Tal, Kingsley, and I was in fucking heaven. HEAVEN I tell ya!!
As soon as I finished this I needed to reread Best Laid Plans and Out of Plans. I missed Marc and Lily. My only wish was that we had gotten to see a bit of them as well. I'd forgotten how badass they were and how much I enjoyed spending time between their pages. Plus, they were my first Stylo Fantome adventure. So I hold them dear to my heart.
This birthday celebration of Jameson's 5 year publication was absolute perfection in a tiny package! We got all the best of Stylo: dark and twisty, sweet and loving, angsty, and intriguing! A little bit of everything all rolled into one. I love how she's shown us that characters never truly end. That they still carry on with their lives. I wish more authors would give us bits like this.

There is no right way to really rate a book when it has one chapter of each of your favorite books to give you a glimpse of what's happening now. Stylo Fantome is probably one of my go to authors when it comes to romance genre with a huge twist and to get a chance to finally find out what happened after that i had to say goodbye to not only the story, but the characters that i fell in love with.
While it's only one chapter of some of her bestsellers, Stylo Fantome still gave you that chance to finally say goodbye, but with a twist - some left you knowing that there will be more, leaving you a cliffhanger that just gnaws at you until you're wondering if begging the author when that next instalment is coming out.
For the length and considering what it was created for, this was really a great and fun way to catch up with some of this author's most famous characters and i can't wait to read more from her in the future!!!

4.5 Could Not Get Enough Stars!

I love epilogues. Adore them. Am disappointed if the story doesn’t end with an epilogue. I need that bow nicely tied at the end. Seeing a couple, still together, maybe having kids or traveling the world or just living their lives takes away the work for me. I don’t have to wonder if somewhere down the road their love turned into something less and they parted ways. Of course, this could still happen after the epilogue, but you get the point.
Checking In is like a whole book of epilogues. Stylo Fantome takes all her characters and gives us a glimpse of them “more.� Some of the stories like The Bad Ones� Dulcie and Constantine are downright sinister. They haven’t lost their edge or lust for revenge. Mischa and Tal’s story (My Time in the Affair) is sweet and had all the feels with the story book ending I knew they would have.
As for that triangle of combustion- Wulf, Katya and Liam from Twin Estates-well they are as screwed up and hilarious as they were the first time around.
Now for my favorite couple, or should I say triple- Jameson, Tate and Sanders from the Kane series-their story was all I could have asked for and more. If you as obsessed as I am, there was a part in Completion, a conversation between Tate and Ang about something that had happened and it came out of nowhere. I remember messaging the author and asking if I had somehow missed a part of the series where this happened. She told me no, she likes to throw in random things that have no explanation, just slices of life. Well, this slice got its own story and it’s a great one!
If you’re a fan of Ms. Fantome’s you are going to adore this book.
If you haven’t read her books yet, then this is a great enticement to dive into her stories!

This book was such a fantastic treat for fans of the unique array of work byStylo Fantôme.Checking Ingives us small glimpses into life after the stories of some of our favorite characters (Pst! We're looking at you, Sanders!!!) With many different scenes from completely diverse books, there is a little something for everyone; with tidbits that are dark, sweet and downright heart wrenching.Checking Incontains spoilers if you haven't read a particular story, skip through to the next. But, I highly recommend every single one the the books featured, because a story byStylo Fantôme never disappoints!

Such a fun read!
I'm not sure which story was my favorite! I always love hearing more from the Kanes series. The check in with Tal and Mischa from My Time in the Affair made my heart so happy!!!
I'm also seriously excited for While I Was Away!
I'm not sure which story was my favorite! I always love hearing more from the Kanes series. The check in with Tal and Mischa from My Time in the Affair made my heart so happy!!!
I'm also seriously excited for While I Was Away!

I beg and pray for Sanders book while appearing Tate & Jameson with twin babies so he back to the state

This book is a brilliant idea! Who hasn't thought about characters in their favorite books, long after reading them? Checking In gave us teeny glimpses into the "current" lives of favorite characters - and I loved every single snippet, I might love Law the most (just because he's the Law!).
We start this little journey with Constantine and Dulcie, who visit their hometown and reminisce. Of course, that's not all that happens when these two are together! Kicking off the book with these two just set the entire mood for me. I loved The Bad Ones. Honestly, who am I kidding? I loved everything Stylo Fantome has written.
Muscle Memory, this one just about killed me.
My Time in the Affair - this was beautiful, and absolutely the closure I needed for this story.
What can I say about Wulf, Katya,and Liam, these guys are a treat!
Every single update is absolutely perfect addition to each story ever told by Fantome.
Some are deep, some are light, but all are awesome!

Snippets in time
This author has been my favorite since I first got a kindle. I have read EVERYTHING she has written. Some of them numerous times. Jameson "Satan" Kane has stayed my top BBF since I first discovered him followed closely by Wulfric. So to have a book filled with little snippets from these books was possible proof that Heaven exists.
If you are a fan of this author then don't miss out on this. I'm still wishing that Sanders would "talk" and allow his story to be told. I know he would take that first place from Jameson. I'll just keep my fingers crossed until then.

Where do I start? Tate and Jameson!!! Mischa and Tal and Esme!!! Dulcie and Con! And mercenaries are like no other! The book sneak peek into the newness! Thank you for this and, Stylo, I want to read what happens after the tunnel as soon as possible! Your writing... always the best. Perfection! I had such a great time revisiting these characters I’ve come to know and love.

Heck yes!! This was fantastic, just what I needed. I loved being able to peek into old couples and see a little into how they are. My favorite little portion was from the Twin Estates series. I love Liam!

I had to cheat when reading this. I refused to read the updates on books I haven't read yet so I only read 2 of the bits. But let me tell you they were perfect!
Checking In is a perfect title and a sly maneuver. I am still smirking about both of the updates I read. Muscle Memory and Twin Estates.
I have a feeling other Stylo enthusiasts are going to be just as gleeful at her quick teases.

It was fun dropping back into some of my favourite couples to see how their lives have changed. These are short extended epilogues that give us just enough to keep me happy.

I loved catching up with all the characters from these books, especially from Muscle Memory and the Twin Estates series. It also makes me want to do a re-read of all them, loved it!!

Write an anthology with all our favorite couples!
It really was a great idea, I loved seeing more about Jameson and Tate (my favorite novella in this book). I think their part was just PERFECT for them, with all their layers, put in a nutshell/ in a few pages.
And what about our grumpy Wulf?... it was funny and I’m always ready for my Liam’s fix too!
So, as a huge fan of Epilogues, getting more moments of the “after� is really great.
And if you’re a fan of Stylo Fantôme, you can’t miss this book!
It will make you want to do so many re-reads� or a StyloFantômeMarathon??

I don't even know what to say right now, I kind of want to move to Mexico just so I can stalk Stylo and be her best friend. I really don't know how she does it but I just love her books and Checking In was no exception. Getting a snippet of what all of her prior characters are doing now was so much fun.
It's been a while since I read My Time in the Affair so I was super excited to read Mischa and Tal and to see what they've been up to since I read them last. Reading their part of the book I felt like I read their story yesterday.
Reading Wulf and Liam, well don't even get me started. One thing I can say about Stylo is that she truly keeps her characters the same. If they're a dickhead in book 1 they're a dickhead in book 4 and that's one of things I love most about her.
Speaking of dickheads I got to read my favorite one again, JAMESON, but before I get to him I had the pleasure of getting completely mind fucked by While I Was Away. I don't even know what to say about that other than I can't wait until my blog partner Jill reads this so we can bug the hell out together.
Yet I digress, okay back to my favorite dickhead in the entire WORLD, Jameson, can I just say I was literally bugging out reading about him and Tatum. I just love them so much and of course Sanders too. I'll leave you with some goodies but of course no spoilers.
"Dramatics? Fucking dramatics?" Tate said, walking backwards to the door. "How's this for dramatics?"
She gave them both the finger with one hand, while yanking open the door with the other.
"She'll be so mad, that when I apologize, it'll seem like an even bigger deal. It'll completely end the fight. Trust me, Sanders. This is how she and I operate."
