Olympics: Its that time of the year where all sports fan huddle around in front of the tv cheering for their country. Geronimo goes there to solve a mystery and nope not the gold medal mystery the title is not helping. he went there to help professor von volt's mystery as his invention was stolen by someone. the thief was also threatening the professor. I thought geronimo ran in the race and the silliest bit was that he won the running competition. As far as I know the Olympics you are supposed to represent a country but geronimo couldn't do so. My favourite character in this book is Professor Von volt because the machine his invention I mean can put in animal powers inside a human so used his machine on the villain and made him a tortoise so he had to walk slow and could be caught easily. My favourite part of the book was when professor von volt was saved by Geronimo Stilton and Hercule Poirat.

Geronimo is covering the Olympics in Athens, but finds himself at the centre of a mystery- why does the athlete from Mouselyvania win every event? He and his friend Hercule realize that the athlete is really an evil rodent who has cheated his way through the Olympics, and Geronimo is celebrated for his discovery.

My younger students are big fans of this series, but I was not very impressed. I found the different fonts and pictures to be distracting and the story was poorly paced and predictable. I did appreciate the information about Greece and the Olympics that were both intertwined with the story and added as references throughout the book.

This book would be best for late primary/early intermediate readers who might find it boring to read regular books. This series would be a good transition between picture books and novels, as well as graphic novels and novels.

I've heard about the Geronimo Stilton books for ages and I finally read one and found it to be great fun. Different words are written in fun, creative fonts of many colors that breathe new life into these children's stories.

I was surprised by the amount of humor in the novels that would be well above the understanding of a third grader, including references to flies in the fondue, among others. I also enjoyed how the author used asides to explain possibly new concepts and characters to the series. This was done in a manner that did not undermine the audience for not knowing the concepts.

However, the creative format of the book just makes for enjoyable reading. Along with the quirky fonts are colorful and well thought out pictures. They broke up the text and allowed for visual messages to be shared.

This particular volume was about the Olympics and there were many pages at the end of the book describing facts about historical and current games. There were also pages with the flags of participating countries, which were fun to view.

This would be a great series for anyone interested in hooking a reluctant reader. They are colorful, fun, fast paced and entertaining.

This book was exciting, humorous, and interesting. It had great pictures and lots of amusing words. The pages are filled with lots of color. I love mystery books and enjoyed how each clue in the story slowly revealed the mystery. This story is mainly about Geromino and his friend figuring out a conundrum mystery in the Athens. I strongly recommend this kid-friendly book to anyone who loves chapter books, pictures, strong vivid words, and mystery.

This is a great simple mystery book. There are pieces of fact and history mixed in as well as a factual section at the end to help you learn about the modern Olympics. Geography is even included with maps and countries flags.

I thought this book was very interesting, however I wish it had more plot content to it. I thought the book was kind of rushed. Apart from that, I thought the facts and info on the Olympics was very captivating. I really liked that part.

It is such a fun and cute read and story! :) I encourage this read for anyone that wants to hear a fun, light-heated story, with a mystery involved in it. I think these books are awesome for elementary age kids, or any age really that wants an enjoyable read.

I can see how these would be fun books for kids with all of the different fonts, colors, and pictures. Glad I read it so I know what it is, but not my thing.

This book was utterly amazing. It took me back to my stage of being obsessed with Geronimo Stilton.
It has a very strong moral which says: SNeaks will be caught eventually.

Wonderful story about good sportsmanship, with a ton of information about the Ancient Olympics vs. the modern Olympics thrown in!

I read this to my 7yo son Calvin since we had been studying and watching the Olympics. He didn鈥檛 care for the facts sections, so I summarized them. Not a huge GS fan, but they鈥檙e a quick, enjoyable read aloud.

It was cool to read, but some of the pages about greece has nothing to do with the book and makes it boring.
